If he can't bring himself to slam Obama over the same thing he was slamming Bush over a few months ago, then I just don't see his show as consistently influential.
Following this logic, this means that your freedom of speech and press would only apply if you wanted to do your show on an antique printing press, or as a town crier.
I don't know whether he is lying to his viewers about what he thinks about Obama's position on FISA or whether he is lying to himself about what this bill means.
Keith's the subject of colleague's scorn
His schtick has become very worn
The same crap every night
Bash Fox and the right
Countdown's like journalistic porn
Ouch! Greenwald responds (like an adult) to Keify's "childish" Dkos rant:
"...Keith Olbermann went to Daily Kos to respond to what I wrote yesterday regarding his and Jonathan Alter's statements on Obama's support for the FISA bill. Despite his having packed his response with substance-free invective, I'm going to keep the reply as dispassionate as possible because I'm not interested in engaging in some personality-driven spat of the type that he seems to enjoy..."
BTW, thanks for the TalkLeft link, the comments are priceless, they really see Olberdouche for want he is, a third rate sports guy pretending he's a journalist.
If Johnny isn't doing a recap tonight, I'll post my WPitW recap in an hour or so. A few minutes ago, out of boredom, I put on MSNBC. Sean Hannity was Worst for something he and Amb. John Bolton said on "H&C" last night, complete with obnoxious mock impressions of both. But I mostly had the TV muted and the closed-captioning turned off, which I've since turned back on. I couldn't make out Worse, but it looked like two people. Worser was some guy from the NY Post. In other words, the News Corp attacks continued,b ut no O'Reilly attack...at least not when I was watching.
For the record, if BOR was hosting "The Factor" tonight, I'd be watching that and wouldn't be bored. I don't make the effort to watch if someone is filling in.
Here we go:
In the Media Matters Minute, Herr Olbermann actually kept off O'Reilly, but went after:
Delahunt and Addington: They "both made each other stupid at a hearing." Steve King attack thrown in.
Richard Johnson, Page Six editor: "Sued for $10 million for defamation." Yippee!
Sean Hannity: "Self-proclaimed McCain surrogate." "Fox Noise"! [ding!] "Victim of one of the funniest moments in broadcasting history." Are you kidding me? Not even Rich Fields reading the wrong prize on "The Price is Right" yesterday (he read prize for next pricing game instead of for One Bid before flipping back to the One Bid prize description) qualifies as that. Hannity "went on to cheerlead [ding!] for President Bush and bash his media critics." Bad Hannity impression while reading doctored quote from *lead-in* to Bolton interview (see my previous comment for link). As Olbermoronn knows, you read a lead-in on the TelePrompTer at the beginning of a segment, sometimes asking a question. Then, you introduce your guest(s) and start the interview. Or as Monkeymann knows from his sports days, you run the highlights and read the shot sheet. "Former unconfirmed [ding!] U.N. Ambassador John Bolton." Dumb guy voice for the Ambassador. Hannity portrayed as flip-flopping for agreeing with Bolton, as if the lead-in was his "cheerlead" opinion. "Third degree burns for whiplash."
Don't ask me about the Olby Manhood Quotient because that's out of my purview. I'm sure Monkeymann attacked Fox and other broadcasters endlessly. I'm sure Olby's source--(Hillary Clinton's) Media Matters--criticized (MS)NBC a handful of times, but Keithy protected his corporate masters with zero criticisms. And the Olbermann Manhood Quotient was probably deep into negative readings and extremely limp.
"Which... of these stories... will you be talking about..,.tomorrow? Campaign racism...unplugged and unquestionable..."
"...now another leading Republican supporter dives right in the deep end of the racism pool."
"...and dropped the first overt racism bomb, for the general election campaign." "...Kerry with a tan..."
In a May article, African-American, pulitzer prize winning, fashion editor for the Washington Post Robin Givhan wrote, "Again, the implied message is unmistakable: I am neither subversive nor threatening. I am not some scary 'other.' I am Camelot with a tan," in describing the message of a Vogue pictoral of Michele Obama.
Here's a thought. Playing the race card is a political loser to the voters who will decide this election, independents and moderates. Anyone, from any political perspective, that hurls the "race" or "racism" charge is motivated by self-aggrandizement and a desire to smear the other side, not to promote a political agenda.
I'm certain what's his name was disappointed with Ryan Lizza from The New Yorker, his uncooperative parrot for the segment.
Did he really announce a special comment for Monday? I saw a mention of this on another message board but I didn't know if it was just speculation. It would be great entertainment to watch his sit and spin (and also spit since he can't do a special comment without showering the laughing stage hand).
Anyone looking at his ratings lately. He's gone under 1M a few times this past week. My prediction was wrong. I predicted that he leveled off at 1.2M. He didn't level off....he's dropping. My mistake...and glad.
What's His Name stammered and stuttered then haltingly Great Thanksed Lizza with two Zs.
After What's His Name's opening, "Campaign Racism...unquestionionable....overt racism bomb...," during the segment, Ryan with a Y stated the comment "Kerry with a tan" was "obviously NOT an overtly racist" statement.
What's his name actually posed is it "too twisted" to ask if this (Kerry with a tan) is a "trial balloon" for future racist smears.
The answer of course is "YES!" But that's SOP in What's His Name's World.
Is it too twisted to ask if Too Twisted What's His Name twists the truth so much it becomes unquestionably unrecognizable?
> What's His Name stammered and stuttered then haltingly Great Thanksed Lizza with two Zs.
Sounds like he wanted a Love Connection but left disappointed.
Ramjet - thanks for the WP article quote. I hope someone points out Robin Givhan's "racist" remark describing MO as "I am Camelot with a tan." Maybe KO can make RG WPitW.

And oh, by the way, here's the *undistorted* video of Amb. Bolton on "H&C":

Was Ryan Lizza Great Thanksed, Greatly Pleasured or simply thanked? That determines whether there was a love connection.
Cant wait for the "special comment" where ko will explain his hypocrisy and how "obama can have his cake and eat it too"
ko was against it until obama was for it
countdown, just a one hour infomercial for obama and the left
