There’s no easy way to admit this, but I want Al Franken to run for president, and I want Keith Olbermann to be his running mate. Why? Because I’m a low tax guy, and so are these two.
We were a bit surprised to see Mr. Countdown plug the site, given our nearly regular reports from inside 30 Rock about his behavior, both on-air and off. A chance to engage O’Reilly in a tete-a-tete trumps any other agenda.
In retaliation for Keith naming Murdoch as "worst person in the world" on Friday's show, the Murdoch-controlled NY Post has actually published Keith's home address in a BS story about him owing a small amount of taxes.
True to form, the New York Times so far hasn't written a word about it. Will they yet see fit to report the story? It's about as likely as Keith Olbermann giving himself the Worst Person in the World award.
Between Air America Radio's misuse of taxpayer funds to Al Franken's own tax mess, it's not hard to find past examples. This time, it's the outstanding team over at Olbermann Watch doing the investigating and what a treasure trove they've uncovered!
"'Every Tuesday night Keith is up there as the face of NBC News. That's a problem,' says our source. '[Tim] Russert is upset about it. Russert has spent 20 years building credibility. All of a sudden he's taking questions from Keith Olbermann, the Daily Kos blogger?'"

KO has a well-known history with other networks of being flighty and tempramental (emphasis on "mental"). With NBC knowing this, the only strategy that would seem to justify NBC hitching their ratings to his star is the combination of the fanatic Kos crowd watching daily along with the "train-wreck effect" of others tuning in to see how bad KO really is. That's not a very good long-term strategy, but KO's not a long-term kind of a guy. Either that, or NBC is being run by idiots who don't care about alienating people like Russert. Or both.
Another interesting link about the descent of NBC NEWS into the abyss:

I love this quote:

If he is so upset about it, why does he participate?....NBC NEWS has no more credibility, in my opinion.

I love it, the hate filled kossacks taking notice of Olbermannwatch. Bob, J$, and the others must be doing something right! Keep up the good work.
