I just saw this on Drudge, I can't believe it.
That just sucks..one of the last good real Newsmen at MSNBC/NBC...I just hope this doesn't paved the way for KO to get the Meet the Press hosting duties..because that would be a real insult to the memory of the Man. :(
With the passing of Russert, I fear a worsening of the partisanship at NBC NEWS.
Brian Williams has a great opportunity to thwart the trend at the organization...I hope he ceases the chance to revive the reputation of a once great organization.
And MLong....if Keith Olbermann even guest hosts "Meet The Press," it will be the nail in the coffin of NBC NEWS. Russert ran a pretty balanced show and always had both sides represented. Olbermann running things would be a 180 degree change of one good program coming out from the peacock.
I was surprised, shocked, and saddened to learn this moments ago. God rest him.
Who knew that in a week where Jim McKay died, Tim Russert would die, too? It's just very sad.
I should say I hope William SEIZES the moment....what a long day!
This was a shock for me as well. I didn't want to make this about KO but it brings up the idea of his guest hosting or taking over all together. In this type of venue he would be obligated to have on guests who oppose him politically. Not Richard Wolff or anyone like that. I'm sure that he would try to continue this trend but the show isn't about this. So it could be good either way. HIm not having bobblehead dolls on the show would prove much to difficult for hi. ONe show and his head could explode.
Such an admirable man in every way.
I'm going to really miss him.
Russert was a fine man.
RIP Tim......
Could not believe my eyes.
The only newsman currently at NBC that I hold in high regard.
Awful News. Thoughts and Prayers for his family.
David Gregory or Matt Lauer will get the seat.
Quads, I am betting that Gregory will get the MTP seat. Gregory is no Russert, but I think he is the likely candidate.
Thoughts and prayers to Russert's family.
NBC Nightly news did a nice tribute. I'm going to miss the big guy.
I also was shocked and saddened to learn of Tim Russert's sudden passing.
My best to his family.
