"COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN" (8:00 P.M.-9:00 P.M. ET)
Host: Keith Olbermann
The infamous, deplorable one snuck back into town, but we weren't ready for him. We're unable to do our standard writeup tonight, so it's your turn. You write the recap! Comments are open. And don't spare the invective.
I didn't watch. Did anyone else? What Fox personalities were unfairly attacked with the help of a Blue Blog Source?
Or what News Corp personalities?
I went to The News Hole's summary for tonight's show: the Media Matters Minute featured Elizabeth Dole, Mike Meehan, and Chris Wallace. How dare Chris attack Krazy Legs. No video of any segments is up yet at the "Countdown" website.
I give up waiting for video to show up. I shouldn't care what he says, how he says it, or whom he unfairly attacks.
I think everyone is busy engaging in unnecessary battles with trolls (which only makes things worse) at J$P. And that's why I'm the only commenting here so far.
In tonight’s opening, KO derides FOX for playing an “eavesdropped conversation” of Jesse Jackson’s while he dreams of removing Obama’s baby makers. Hmmmm, I guess it’s ok to play these “open mike” moments when it’s someone to the right of Bella Abzug, but deplorable when it’s one of his guys.
Next, I can only assume that Keith didn’t get the memo that Joe Wilson (and his wife for that matter) were both discredited a while ago. Dude, just how long have you been on vacation anyway?
Then, Keith names Chris Wallace Worst Person in the World.
Keith Keith Keith, not only are you a MORON, but now you have become a PREDICATBLE MORON.
Ed Morrissey called it YESTERDAY in his HOT AIR blog
http://hotair.com/archives/2008/07/15/its-on-wallace-says-ms-nbc-in-the-tank-for-obama/
After that, Olbermoon brings to light that there were more complaints of “unfairness” directed at FOX during the primaries than EMESISNBC… Uh Keith, someone needs to be watching you to register a complaint….how can you “SPOT” Chris Wallace numbers you don’t have to offer?
Finally, regarding your email exchanges with Tony Snow (or lack thereof)…it’s real easy to put all this to bed…PROVE IT. Show us the emails. And don’t tell us that a BIG AND POWERFUL NEWS ORGANIZATION (sarcasm/off) like MSNBC doesn’t have email archival.
After skimming through the videos, I can say the following:
#5: The Wolffe Man simpered and was predictably Great Thanksed. Then, comedienne and "affable ninja" Rachel Maddow stepped in and was given "Great Thanks for holding down the fort."
#4: "Iraq War sales job." Oh, no. It's time for Olby and the Perfessor, Jonathan Turley. Skiparoo.
#3: Jib-Jab cartoon, which for the record, I put myself into on their website this afternoon with their "Be in the Movie" feature.
#2: The Media Matters Minute. Elizabeth Dole. Skip it. Next. Chris Wallace. Fixed News! [ding!] Again, how dare Chris criticize Edward R. Olbermann. OlbyLie about never suggesting Hillary get out of campaign. "Go back and read your talking points carefully again." OlbyLie about O'Reilly and Hannity anchoring on primary nights. Having an hour of "The Factor" or "Hannity and Colmes" on the night of a primary is not the same as anchoring primary coverage. And finally, that Meehan guy for putting up a billboard urging people not to vote for Democrats. Oralmann once again blamed Bush for 9/11.
#1: I don't care. I'm worn out from WPitW. I despise you, Keith.
Insert name of recently deceased icon here___________.
Olby does it again! What sort of pathology would drive a person to make himself the story when reporting on anothers death? Baseball
guy Bobby Murcer dies and Olby turns the spotlight on himself taking credit for getting many huge hugs from Murcer over the years in spite of "..saying that about 'My President.' " Yes, Murcer, who is no longer here to defend himself or the truth, capitulated to Olby near the end and asked: " When did my President go sooo wrong?"
Olby is out there fighting the small battles with ailing Conservatives, and winning!
Prediction time.....
Now that Griffin, (a REAL and UNDECEASED) long time buddy and supporter of Olbermann, is the president of the whole shebang at MSNBC....this will actually quicken Keith's departure than prolong it.
See, when a blowhard like Keith thinks he's got his buttocks covered but somebody near the top....they will push the envelope, but keep from going over the top.
But when that same blowhard has his SIX covered by THE BIG KAHUNA....well, that my friends is what we would call a "weapons free environment" for said blowhard.
I predict that Keith is just warming up...and "YOU AIN'T SEEN NUTHIN' YET"
But he's is going to go so far beyond the pale that he will surely bring on his own demise, and even GRIFFIN won't be able to look the other way.
Keith awarded the Wolfeman and Maddow the first and second violin chairs after a two week layoff.
Wolfe, always the Yes man, struck the usual chord of agreement and - to quote Forrset Gump --- they were like "Peas and Carrots" all over again.
Next, Rachael Maddow had to be there for the Krazy Keith comeback. Olbermann fawned over her dedication to the show and not taking a "day off". Olby certainly has a crush on Maddow and probably envisions himself as Elaine Benis try to talk the cute guy into joining the other team. I think Keith wants RM on the other team with him and his 3 inch joystick.
KO had an extra long "Buuuuushed !!!!" audio voice over....since he had not said it publicly in over two weeks and he was in Buuuushed withdrawl.
There was the usual McCain bashing which always fits like a flesh tuxedo on olby planet.
Worst's, as usual, was hard to stomach. Some guy in Florida got it for pimping out the twin towers in a tasteless billboard. This was a rare moment of agreement with Citizen Keith.
The last segment was filled with 3rd grade schoolyard antics and he had to respond to every piece of news thrown at him and respond in full like the Edward R Murrow that he is. Oh, and by the way....He and Tony Snow were friends.
The most deplorable moment came when he pimped out the corpse of Bobby Murcer, a beloved Yankee. Here, Olby tells his audience that Bobby was a staunch Bush supporter until Katrina and Bobby turned sour and "W" and shared this revalation with Keith. Why is it that Keith always quotes his private conversations with Dead Men? First Russert and now the beloved Yankee Bobby Murcer. Why does Keith pimp out the dead to advance his own sick left wing bomb throwing agenda? Because he knows that Dead Men Tell No Tales.
Amazingly, he blamed Fox News on releasing the tape about Jesse Jackson, as if MSLSD would not have done that. No doubt, he will blame Fox tonight for helping orchestrate the leak on the "n" word.
Oh boy!
Huffnpuff post reporting msDNC is working on giving mancow her own show.
Another hour of hate, rage and phony laughter
When will they have to start running "Im barack obama and I approved this message" before during and after every show on the all obama network
Isn't Olbermahn the spook that went back 30 years for an open-mic clip of Bill O'Reilly? By Olbermahn's own standards, Jackson's open-mic spews are fair game.
I thought the same thing, merkle923....How can Olbermann be critical of FNC, (and O'Reilly who even held back the worst of the conversation), while he showed the expletive filled Billo rant more than once?
One answer.....It's another example of Olby hypocrisy.
Also, Olbermann touts his show as informative...Is not Jesse Jackson's unscripted attitude towards the supposed future of racial progress as represented by the younger generation's leader SNOBamessiah an important news story? Even the reaction of Jesse's son to how his father acted speaks volumes over the difficulties and differences that are occurring among the older civil rights leaders who are heavily invested in the appearance of a great national racial divide.
And lastly, the difference in the media's reaction to Jackson's threat of violence and his use of the n-word also speaks volumes. If a moderate of conservative had used such language, the media would be calling for heads to roll.....including the usually sensitive Olbermann....but alas, hypocrisy reigns.
I think the "Inside Edition" blooper was from about 18 years ago. BOR was either in Denver or Dallas 30 years ago. I forget the full chronological resume. I think it went Scranton, Dallas, Denver, CBS News, New York, Boston, ABC News, "Inside Edition," "The O'Reilly Report/Factor."
