Olby got trounced last night in total viewers and the demo...by John Kasich! 2,196,000 to 1,076,000 and 496,000 to 343,000. Thank you, everyone! So much for that Komment.
(I submitted this in the thread for last night's "Countdown," but it was worth repeating here.)
Well, well, looky here, Phil Griffin spinning away and saying Tim Russert was "onboard" with the "journalists" at MSMBC. Too bad the dead can't speak for themselves...(oh, right, he (Russert) already did in the New Yorker Magazine...hahahahha)...From the Houston Chronicle:
"...For the first time, MSNBC has everyone at NBC News behind the network and believing in it, Griffin said. That's partly explained by the simple move of MSNBC's studios from Secaucus, N.J., to NBC's headquarters at Rockefeller Center in New York.
The late Tim Russert played a key role in signaling an acceptance of MSNBC by starting to make more appearances there a year or two ago, Griffin said. That wasn't necessarily a priority at NBC News during years when MSNBC seemed without a direction.
"There was a sensibility here that 30 Rock was the major leagues," he said. "Cable is fine, but it was sort of kids playing in Secaucus. I think everyone knows that MSNBC is a player and a platform for NBC News editorially and financially."
Management erred in years past by trying to be all things to all people, he said. Now MSNBC is "a little smarter, a little edgier, a little more honest."
And maybe a little more liberal. Griffin resists the idea that MSNBC is positioning itself as the go-to network for the left, in much the same way as Fox is the network of choice for many conservatives. Still, its breakout show is hosted by the virulently anti-administration Olbermann, who's made no secret of his admiration for Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama..."

Good question for Eugene Robinson of the WaPost, too bad he chose not to really answer it, kind of like his hero, the coward, Olbermann:
Baltimore: Mr. Robinson, I read almost all of your columns, although I disagree with many of them. I also watch you often in your cable news appearances. My question is, how can a respected journalist agree to be a guest on the Keith Olbermann show? I understand that you disagree with many Bush policies, but Olbermann blatantly distorts the truth as a way to bash Bush and defend anything Obama does. Why don't you ever stand up for the truth on his show and not just parrot what he says? Also, why is he so afraid to have a dissenting view on that show?
Eugene Robinson: Take this with as many grains of salt as you'd like, since I appear on the show, but I find Countdown informative and entertaining. Keith has a point of view and doesn't pretend otherwise. I grew up in the tradition of "on the one hand, on the other hand," but I don't see why every television show (or every radio show, or every magazine, etc.) has to follow that norm. When I appear on the show, I say what I think. If my take on something is different from Keith's, I say so.

According to the News Hole, the Media Matters Minute was uneventful tonight. Karl Rove, a direct mail firm, and some psych ward in Brooklyn were named. Triple yawn. Can we send Bathtub Boy to that psych ward?
Boy , these 2 articles are a must read for Olbermann Watchers!
Did John Gibson say anything about the Komment on his radio show tonight?
But since the elections, MSLSD has settled back to pretty much where it was six months ago. Olbermann is around IM, Matthews and Abrams 500 - 650K. Not much to shout about. They will probably fare well during the conventions and the Nov. election, but after that they will more than likely fall again.
I'm now watching that Godawful Media Matters Minute. I apologize for the crack about the psych ward. It turned out to be a tragic story involving a patient left for dead outside and nobody came to her aide.
Olbermoronn awkwardly transitioned (the Mr. Segue wannabe struck out) to Worser, which was Karl Rove. Olby's friend Joel McHale used to make fun of Tony Danza (in the final months of his talk show) for such bad transitions. Anyway, MC Rove pictured used. "Writing another hit piece on Obama in the Murdoch Street Journal..." Rove is wrong, Oralmann says. He then implies McCain is evil for rejecting Obama town hall debate proposals. As Mr. Rove said on "The Factor" last Tuesday, the two proposed dates were this Friday night (Fourth of July) and some time in August. In essence, they wanted the debates when nobody would watch. But back to Fat Ass: "Kinda true isn't good in this business, Mr. Rove. This isn't War in Iraq or something." Worst was, as I said earlier, a direct mail firm: BMW Direct. So, when they're not producing and selling cars, they're mailing people. Or is this not Bavarian Motor Works? Blue Blog Source admitted on air for once: Talking Points Memo [Muckracker]. Krazy Konspiracy Theory that isn't worth my time watching the remaining 56 seconds of the video on "Countdown" website.
All done.
MikeC, I thought of you as soon as I saw the ratings for last night.
If he tanked that bad with a SEK I can't wait to see the numbers from tonight.
LOL!! Olby can't beat the Kasich Factor? Even with a speshul koment? MSLSD must be so proud. Especially since they can't make any headway against evil FOX News.......
Fox News was the top rated cable news network during Q2 prime time, finishing in sixth place (Live+SD). CNN was 21st and MSNBC 27th.

And evil O'Reilly.....
Fox News Channel had nine of the top 10 cable news programs (in Total Viewers) during the second quarter, with The O'Reilly Factor finishing in first place (now 91 consecutive months).

I smell WPITW for FOX News the rest of the week,
Oh no, the ratings did not increase even with great preshow fanfare on the radical site Olbermann loves. There will be excuses, I am sure, but the truth?
It is good to see that there are many who have not decided to follow Olbermann and the blind radical Obamabots towards intellectual dishonesty.
The bottomline about the FISA compromise is that it is black or white....Either the telecoms were wrong to cooperate with those evil feds and should be open to punishment or they were not doing anything wrong in helping protect the nation. To try to muddy it all with a slick, over-reach of an excuse to choose political image over principle is very SNOBamessiah-like.....but the normal people are not biting.....too bad for Olbermann.
IF SNOBamessiah was a real leader, he would stand with his leftist collegues and block this legislation at all costs. But he's not, and he won't.
A WPITW for the comedian tonight? I'm sure mr. envy will be green instead of orange tonight.....
