Last night's "get a shovel" crack, sneered by the infamous, deplorable Keith Olbermann into an open mic, just exposed to the world what is going on behind the scenes. Edward R Olbermann already has several scalps on his belt: Tucker Carlson and Dan Abrams lead the list. Now he's ready to remake MSNBC mornings into the OlbyPlanet model of ideological purity by taking aim at Joe Scarborough.
Was it just by accident that OlberToady David "Slippery" Shuster just happened to pick a fight with Joe the very next morning? On Scarborough's own show, no less! As our favorite MSNBC ex-insider explains, this is the modus operandi of Keith Oralmann. And we have the audio for your listening pleasure:
UPDATE: And so it begins. Olbermann's blog has launched a petition to fire Joe Scarborough. Keith's Kos kolleagues are hard at work trying to figure out how they can implement King Oralmann's plan to rid MSNBC's airwaves of impure political thoughts:
Do a little investigative work on Joe's background to see what drives the man. There's probably a few skeletons hidden there.Who killed Joe Scarborough's secretary in Joe's office might be a start.
It's very possible that Scarborough is a heavy drinker, uses drugs, and has extramarital affairs (unless he's impotent). He might cheat on his taxes and hire illegal aliens to do his yardwork and watch his kids. I have no evidence at all of any of that but I've seen the pattern in that type.
UPDATE: Olbermann makes fun of Chris's long-winded ways, and Matthews snaps back at him. Ah, the beauty of it all:
I don't remember Edward R.Murrow getting people fired to bring in his own..of course Murrow didn't chicken out from debates on the issues or feed his ego by seeking praise from loony Leftest either.
Well he got rid of Abrams to give his girl Friday Maddow a show...so let's guess who KO has in mind for replacing Joe....I mean Shuster couldn't possible be wanting a permanent show of his own..right?....next who would KO have in mind to replace Mathews and Gregory?..who have to be next on the chopping block. New Murrow indeed.
Olbermann is guttless. He sends his little stooge to attack Scarborough because he doesn't have the guts to do it himself.
Previously posted on an earlier thread on OW:
Here's a take I haven't seen anywhere.
When MSNBCdncco gets the ratings for today's for Morning Joe & tonight's Low Blow KO's convention coverage, I believe they will find a bump up in the numbers, a trend likely to continue after the Shuster dust up.
Audiences on both sides of the political spectrum would flock to see a continuation of a KO-Joe debate.
The nutroots-KOS Kids-loony lefties would love to see their heroe smack down the RW Panhandle Redneck while reasonable-intelligent-thoughtful moderate or conservative critics of Low Blow KO would tune in to see someone actually have the opportunity to express an opinion not in lockstep with the Fuhrer of 30 Rock.
A ratings bonanza!
Joe Scar's stock rises!
Not only does MSNBCdncoc not fire Joe, they give him a raise and a bigger dressing room.
:-)
Holy Leg Tingle, Batman! Matthews just brought the smack down HARD on KO. Good for Chris.
Frankly if MSNBC decided that the best way for ratings was for it's on-air personalities to fight each other. .I say bring it on..atleast they won"t be bothering anyone else...all I know is somewhere Tim Russert is looking down shacking his head at what KO has brought to NBC news. New Murrow indeed.
Oh no, the Lillipution are getting angry the Vladimir Olbermann. They have finally figured out that dealing with Keith is not worth getting their left wing talking points out.
The charade is over. The pretense of objectivity has been tossed under the ObamaBus. The Official Network of the Obama Campaign chief spinpersons and product endorsers didn't even wait to take a breath before declaring, "She couldn't have done better," "Epic night'" "Historic speech."
Goodbye Chet.
Goodbye David.
And goodbye from the once highly respected NBC News.
It's a circus. A fascist circus. Being led by Il Duce Olbermann, himself.
It must be an embarrassment for Brokaw, and I kind of feel sorry for him.
The mild-mannered, well-balanced viewer does not stand for such partisan fascism. A contrary OPINION isn't even allowed!
Brokaw attempted to bring the Hillary drooling back to reality by addressing the real concern about how the Dem proposals will actually be paid. Mathews and Olbermann didn't even respond. The only responsible person on that panel, and he was simply dismissed.
America has tuned out NBC. All GE can cater to at this point are the loons.
Russert must be proud.....
Can you imagine the chaos and backstabbing thats gonna happen when the Dems lose the general election??
I literally saw 30 seconds of Michelle's "epic" "historic" "case clos(ing)" speech last night. On accident when I turned on the tv and it was on CBS before I could turn the channel. What part did I catch (paraphrasing, mostly) "when I met Barack I saw this guy with a funny name....blah blah blah"
I am about freakin' sick and tired of these two with their "funny name" crap trying to guilt people into voting for him. Give us just one position on something, other than surrendering in Iraq. Give us one specific way you will "Hope and Change" us into prosperity.
Quit with the "I'm a black guy with a funny name who doesn't look like the white guys on the money" crap and the "quit distracting everyone" crap and just run for President.
Your wife has just given a speech on national tv, at the Democratic National Convention, for your candidacy. Just like Ted Kennedy did, just like Hillary! Clinton did, just like Joe Biden will, just like you will. Can we now stop considering her off limits? You can't have it both ways, "Funny Name."
Crush...
When they lose, after KO's campaign leading role, can he continue to exist? Seriously?
Does he, at that point, have and standing left? The right already considers him a joke, the Kossacks (with a long history of supporting losing candidates already....Ned Lamont, anyone?) can't continue to be associated with losers, and the Clintonistas can't stand him at this point. Who will he have left? The NYT, Newsweek, and VH1?
Scott...
He will have the angry and bitter left to cheer him on in attacking mccain for four more years. He will always be a powerless dog sniffing and biting at the ankles of the powerful.

Another night of Chrissy and Keefy searching for polyps. Now it's a Hillary lovefest, a night of "unity", but no mention of moving Warner's speech because he refused to attack McCain. Another predictable night on MSLSD.
It's ON. Scarborough ripped Olbermann this morning from the get go this morning on Morning Joe. At the very start of the show, Joe and his posse's first words were all baseball analogies. Joe said it was a single, Willie said it was a double in accessing Hillary's speech...Ok, I thought. I didn't quite get the signifigance until a while later when Joe had the producers play back MSNBC's 'on air talent' reactions to Hillary's speech. What followed was hilarious. They showed the last 2 seconds of her speech and the applause rose and Olbermann could be heard instantly proclaiming, 'It's a grand slam! It's over the fence! It's 500 feet past the fence!' and he went on and on and on. His reaction was so absurdly over the top that it was beyond embarrassing(this the same woman Olbermann was just accusing of wishing for the assassination of Obama) It was fantastic that Joe didn't just make an off handed reference to it. He actually had Olbermann's reaction replayed...twice! so he could ridicule it. Oh, it's on.
Wow, just read your post zona9, can't wait to see the replay of morning joe ripping "comedian" Keith Olbermann apart. I am just watching Olby's post debate reaction right now, what a drooler.
On another note, I caught the Matthews/Olbermann snit last night but I missed the beginning where Matthews spoke through the wrap up, but caught the testy exchange. the network is coming apart at the seams and I love it!
Olbermann is a genius of monstrous, epic proportions, and he is so great at not openly pushing the interests of his weird friends like Rachel Maddow, doesn't do it, no, he doesn't have self-destructive tendencies and bizarre personality tics.
Joe could have just snidely stuck it to Olbermann by making the baseball analogies all morning and the only people that would know what he was doing would be Keith and the two people who were watching MSNBC last night. I was like, 'enough with the freaking baseball analogies already Joe' because I didn't hear Olber.'s reaction last night. But that Joe went so far as to replay Keith's dopey blubbering to make it perfectly clear where the baseball stuff came from?..yikes. And Joe imitated Keith at first..'it's a Grand slam! Greatest speech ever!...before finally saying he thought it was a single...
Oh, and wow. I finally saw the video of Chris and Keith's little spat. It's freaking chaos over there. Chris was pissed. Meanwhile, Shuster and Joe are fighting in the morning. Complete implosion! Who is gonna punch who first?
Man, I wish the preview worked here. Atrocious mistakes on my part, yikes!lol
I am dying to see the video of Joe making the baseball analogies. Someone has got to get this up!

BREAKING NEWS:
MSNBC's Olbermann Rushed to Hospital
MSNBC 8/27/2008
For immediate release
Denver, CO
MSNBC President Phil Griffin released a statement early this morning announcing the hospitalization of the highly regarded co-anchor of NBC News and MSNBC Democratic National Convention coverage.
Griffin's statement reads, "We are saddened to report that Keith Olbermann was rushed to the University of Colorado Hospital early this morning after being examined by a doctor in the President's Suite at the Warwick Denver Hotel.
Keith's recent behavioral swings ranging from obnoxiousness to euphoria were causing concern among several of his co-workers and friends. A doctor was called in at aproximately 5:00 am MST to examine him.
Keith was diagnosed with acute hypoxia (oxygen deprivation) that was a result of the combination of Denver's
mile-high altitude with Keith's lofty opinion of himself.
He is resting comfortably and is expected to make a full recovery.
Tom Brokaw will fill in as co-anchor untill Keith is able to return.
Keith asked me to relay a message to his fans that he will be back before his seat gets cold.
classic
This is as fun as watching michael moore's blog in 2004 in the final days before and after the election that the repubs won!!
HAHAHA man, Shuster makes 1 crack on Joe and Scarborough just comes at him like a spider monkey! That was pretty funny, good for you, Joe.
poopster looked like the little puppy that got caught shitting on the carpet and then getting his nose rubbed in it!
And then Joe gives him the smack with the rolled up newspaper!
Give 'em hell Joe!!!!
You wrote: "Olbermann's blog has launched a petition to fire Joe Scarborough."
The link in that sentence is to a blog called "thepetitionsite.com" What evidence do you have that this is Olbermann's site?
That isn't Keith's site. That's the site where the petition has been posted.
Olbermann's blog is the Daily Kos, and we also have a link to the Daily Kos posting by the person who drafted and put up the petition.
