"Jesus, Joe, why don't you get a shovel?!"
Will Scarborough be the next victim of King Olbermann?
It happened just a few hours ago, and we have John Gibson's audio play by play for your listening pleasure:
That was great!
If I were Scarborough I'd do the same to Olby during one of his broadcasts.
Please, please, please, oh please let there be a camera nearby when Panhandle Joe has a little chat with Low Blow KO in the parking lot.
Thanks for the much longer clip, J$. That was awesome. I do wonder if Joe will be back on for the nightly coverage anymore. And I wonder if he'll mention anything about it on his Moring Joe coverage.
Fantastic! I thought maybe I was hearing things when I couldn't find anything else about it online. It's better than I thought. Fing priceless! Wtf poll is Keith blabbering about? What poll has shown McCain up by 6-7 points?
Think maybe Brokaw will have a little talk with him? Nawwww.
This train is about to go off the track and I want to make sure my dvr is set!
Someone has got to step in and wrestle the controls from that egomanical douche! He is really out of control..saying that onair to another host? Oh, I seriously doubt Joe will say a single word about this on his how.
I caught the replay on my DRV. It was hilarious! Olby had to dig up a poll that just happened to support his delusions. The "likely voter" poll means nothing. FYI for olbermahn, check the daily tracking polls. Too bad Joe wasn't back tonight. Gibson's take on the whole deal was great.
Joe should have repeated the "Too stupid to be on television" comment. :)
btw hi, long time lurker here
Oh, and btw, after this happened, Luke Russert came on and gave a report on a poll that showed(according to him)that Obama isn't doing that great with young people on some issues and how that could be a problem for Obama. Keith, of course, didn't pull the 'shovel' bit with him, however.
Yep more high journalistic standards from MSNBC...just shows how cocky KO is now..not only can he get people fired and bring in his own he also knows he can flip off other on-air personalities without any fear. New Murrow indeed.
Poor Joe. The box car has pulled up. Time to grab your shovel and head off to the re-education camp. Bring a winter coat, you will need it. Maybe Joe will have an "accident" after the show. Maybe Joe will accidently eat some rare radioactive element or maybe he will accidently fall out a 4 story window.
Big Boss-Man Olbermann is in fine form on this first day of the convention. The Scarborough exchange is a beauty, but it's not the only one, today. Very early on in the first segment with Big Boss-Man and Chris Matthews, Matthews was reminding the audience of Michelle Obamas declaration that " ..For the first time in my adult life , I am proud of my country...." From just off camera Boss-Mans voice could be heard saying the single word "Lately". Matthews, in a pitiful act of submission quickly added the word "lately", and then said " well, she
adjusted her statement later. The sad fact is that Matthews was correct the first time and Olbermann was dead wrong, but Big Boss-Man won the moment. The proof is readilly available:

Sorry, it's a bit late. The word at issue was " really" , not "lately". Olby intimidated Matthews into adding the word " really".
Joe did mention it. He made reference to the fact that he had been on primetime for about two seconds last night. Then he said that 'someone' didn't like what he had to say. He was definitely suggesting that he was to be on longer than 2 seconds but Olbermann axed it. Later, Joe got into it big time with Olbermann butt boy Shuster. It wasn't pretty. Joe's days are officially numbered but at least he's not going out like a wimp.
Oh boy, the Murrow of our generation closely guiding the words, themes and arguments put forth by all of the pundits and journalists on the MSNBC coverage of a political....VERY SCARY.
Joe starts to discuss the positive developments for John McCain as of late, that are supported by the facts, and the leftist shill Olbermann squashes such discussion.....rather crudely IMO.
This episode should make the normal viewer cringe and then change the channel.
Please, please, ANY Olbermann apologist show me an example of this on FOX NEWS. Go as far back as possible if you need to.
The idea of a commentator (Tom Brokaw named Olbermann this, he is NOT a journalist) making sure the theme of the coverage is slanted positive only to one side by interrupting his colleague with a silly argument only backed up with one poll is ridiculous, amateurish and tells us all that this is not a network with integrity.
Keith Olbermann has another episode to be proud of! File it away with all of those vapid, manic and spit-soaked SPECIAL COMMENTS we have all grown to love!.....
"Jesus, Joe, why don't you get a shovel?!"
And taking THE LORD'S name in vain as a bonus....What a class act!
Did this get cought on camara? I would love to see the look on Jane Fonda-Olberman's face when he realized that his mic was open.
Wow, this whole incident takes the cake. I understand everyone thinks that Joe's days are numbered but couldn't it be possible this did some serious damage to Keith with the higher ups? I mean this was terribly awkward television and was 100% Bathtub Boy's fault. Maybe this will be one of the eventual chinks in the armour that leads to him eventually being fired. Keith has blown up everywhere he has worked. Don't we all expect him to someday be fired as well from A-Mess-NBC? I'm sure even they can only take much of this bullshit.

Schuster and Scarborough went after each other this morning. Schuster may be dumb but he's clearly gotten the message from Olby that it's open season on Joe.

Olberass shovel video: http://youtube.com/watch?v=oiiarNdxouc
First Tucker then Abrams now Joe
The Keith non-conformists must go
A shovel's required
Who's next to be fired?
Ironic when it's Keith eating crow
"I did!" What a great drop in for John to use whenever talking about KO.
I wonder if Joe will be compelled to claim on his show that the on air fight between him and KO was no big deal and any supposed friction between him and KO is merely the invention of certain websites. Joe may even borrow a play from ealier this year and claim that he wasn't fighting with KO at all, but an unnamed commenter at an unspecified network, and he would never, ever disagree with anything KO says.
Jesus Joe Found His Shovel. He clobbered Shuster over the head with it this morning and is really something to behold. Mika is very uncomfortable and it just keeps getting better until Jesus Joe busts Shuster, for all to witness, for "sleeping through his alarm clock" and missing 3 days at work. Priceless. http://tinyurl.com/5dwk7y
Did anyone see Morning Joe this morning? Right at the beginning, Joe asked Willie Geist what he though of Michelle Obama's speech, then said something like he watched it on this network (MSNBC) last night and she got an A++ with a smiley face next to it from some people(Matthews, Olbermann). I sure hope Joe is back tonight giving olby the vapors.
Has everyone missed this monumental moment for Bathtub Boy?
"Jesus, Joe, why don't you get a shovel?!" - This marks the first time IN HISTORY Keith Olbermann has EVER debated someone with a differing opinion than his on television, the only thing was it was by accidnet!!!! He looked really nervous after he realized his mic was on, so priceless!
"Jesus, Joe, why don't you get a shovel?!"
Uh -- dunno ''bout that Keefy...
Isn't the first rule of shovels, never provoke a guy holding a heavy shovel.

Keith always claims he doesn't likes on air debates, then what was that last night?
But I can see why, because he's not very good at them.
All he had to do is wait till Joe was finished and then ask Joe a question that contradicted Joe's view point.
It's done all the time in the news media, but Keith doesn't watch news or even try to study broadcast journalism.
There were many ways of disagreeing with Joe and Keith did it all wrong.
What Keith did was disrespectful, juvenile, crass and made the network look bad.
It's clear Keith can't handle a different opinion then his, then why do an opinion show? Just go back to reporting sports.
It seems every time these big events take place at MSNBC some bizarre spectacle happens to make them look bad.
I can't image Joe getting reprimanded for this from the MSNBC executives.
The higher ups at MSNBC will hopefully just remind Keith to let other anchors finish their opinions and leave his antics back at the studio.
OF course, he is bragging about it over at kos: http://www.dailykos.com/comments/2008/8/25/192924/063/178#c178
"Oh no it wasn't scripted
There's nothing else I can say about this that is either relevant or true."
LMAO
Unfortunately, the higher ups at MSNBC are probably happy about last night's incident, since it has generated a lot of discussion and may lead to higher ratings from people watching to see what will happen with KO and Chris M next.
On the other hand, a person like Brokaw, who at least seems to care about the quality of reporting and presentation of the news on his network has no substantive input into how the news is presented.
I wonder if Keef is sputtering after seeing this: GALLUP Daily: McCain Takes Lead After Biden Pick...
http://www.gallup.com/poll/109834/Gallup-Daily-Bounce-Obama-Post-Biden-Tracking.aspx
I just made a comment, but it got lost, so here's the short version.
I wish I could say that nothing surprises me anymore, but it's just not true. I really have no idea how low the network can possibly go by continuing to prop up this baffoon. His antics should simply be UNACCEPTABLE for a news network, but unfortunately it is just par for the course.
And as Observer Dan pointed out, the "really" correction from Olby was inappropriate. Mathews was correct. The entire reason for Mrs. Obama's DNC makeover last night was because of the very fact that her "unamended" speech inferred that she was proud only for the first time. We would not even be here discussing this, if it weren't for her unamended statement.
Mathews was in the right, but Olby proves yet again that he is a slovenly political hack.
Yet....NBC employs him. And let's him host the DNC coverage. He has no shame.
And I second the call: Where has FOX NEWS ever done anything remotely similar? Please......I beg the leftist audience (I know you read this site) to
OPEN YOUR EYES.
Unfortunately, the likes of Kos are adulating his performance from last night. Astounding. And Fascist.

When one puts a sociopath in charge of anything it is only a matter of time before everyone around him starts showing signs of illness OR acquires a type of Münchhausen's syndrome by proxy as is indicative of the Shuster case. In his attempt to cover for KO the bystanders have to either jump ship voluntarily or succumb to the inevitable wrath of Keith. Scarborough has found himself in this position.....we will all be watching and be witness to his demise.
Will Scarborough be the next victim of King Olbermann?
Here's a take I haven't seen anywhere.
When MSNBCdncco gets the ratings for today's for Morning Joe & tonight's Low Blow KO's convention coverage, I believe they will find a bump up in the numbers, a trend likely to continue after the Shuster dust up.
Audiences on both sides of the political spectrum would flock to see a continuation of a KO-Joe debate.
The nutroots-KOS Kids-loony lefties would love to see their heroe smack down the RW Panhandle Redneck while reasonable-intelligent-thoughtful moderate or conservative critics of Low Blow KO would tune in to see someone actually have the opportunity to express an opinion not in lockstep with the Fuhrer of 30 Rock.
A ratings bonanza!
Joe Scar's stock rises!
Not only does MSNBCdncoc not fire Joe, they give him a raise and a bigger dressing room.
:-)
