Tonight is, in all likelihood, my last recap for this site. I am totally burned out and have better things to do...like keep my sanity. I am glad to have contributed in gradually (but never altogether) bringing down the Orange Menace. But it's time for someone else to fill my shoes. Any takers?

The continuing theme in this election is who is on offense....who is on defense. Who is driving the campaign narrative? Guess what Olbermann.....McCain is being savy and driving this campaign. His latest ad about McCain not using e-mail is about to boomerang....2000 media reports show McCain is unable to use a keyboard effectively because of his war injuires. He dictates to his wife or staff and those are put out as e-mail. All the 'computer savy' Obama people had to do was google 'McCain' and 'e-mail' or use Lexus-Nexus and find the FORBES and BOSTON GLOBE articles documenting the comments.

The Obama people are randomly lashing out is response and they are making misteps. Olbermann seems to be missing that bit of news.

They have a sense of pride and dignity and those programs tend to strip them of both.

I believe old people deserve to be treated with respect & dignity, God I hope so. I am 62 and my mom is 93. Guess I don't understand why only Liberals have this philosophy.

I believe we should protect the environment, Again, why is this an issue that only Liberals own? Nobody serious is arguing the point. But when Al Gore builds a house that uses as much electricity as a sub-division and he is only the prime example, there is bit of hypocrisy that makes the whole thing look very, very bad.

I believe we should not invade other countries without the majority of the worlds democracies’ agreeing it is the last option, You can believe that, but history is not on your side regardless of Party. LBJs war is still your legacy. I know you have a special issue with Iraq and Bush. I have a special issue with LBJ. I am over it. I have a 10 year old son with Spina Bifida which is an Agent Orange created birth defect. I live with the guilt 24/7/365. I should want to Piss on his grave. But life is what it is. I believe racial profiling is just racism, Well it could be, but when you go through the airport with a little guy in a wheelchair and braces and they practically strip search him and then let 3 or 4 ragheads walk right through you do get a bit of a different perspective on things.

I believe that voting machines should provide a paper trail, I am too right-brained for this. Let's audit everything. Then we can wait 2 years from the election to swear everybody in.

I believe election day should be a national holiday, I believe my birthday should be a national holiday.

I believe that all persons should have equal rights such as the right to marry the one they love, I believe in free love. I want to do all of the chicks I had on my checklist when I was young and a lot more able to execute.

I believe we should spend more money educating our children than we do building prisons, I believe we could do that if we eliminated all of the beauracracy in the educational system.

I believe multinational corporations do not always act in the best interests of America, I believe they never have. I actually think most of the American multi-nationals are the best at not violating the national interest. Maybe you should read the history of the Krupp family and mark their activities in both World War I and World War II.

I believe that women should have every option available to them when it comes to their health, I don't know what they are missing. This whole deal about one party making R v Wade go away is a Red Herring. I acutally believe in choice. When our little guy was just a stick of butter on the ultrasound we were aware of his condition. One goes through a lot of soul searching then. Neither of us needed some goddamn beauracrat on religious nut telling us what to do. On the other hand, I don't want some SOB telling me what to do with my guns nor do I want someone to tell me that the concept of the separation of church and state means the abolition of religion in our society.

I believe children should be taught science not mysticism, The issue is science and religious beliefs. You can't change the terminology so it seems to be a better phrase that might have more widespead acceptability. Face it square or leave it alone.

I believe that taxes should be paid by those who can most afford to pay them, You might check the math and the details. That is exactly what happens.

I believe running huge government budget deficits will hurt our economy, Where were you when LBJ and Carter were running the show?

Most intelligent economists will say that Government "Investment" of almost any kind tends to diminish the economy. Absent the war, our current spending as a component of GDP is quite low. I believe corporations are not people and should not have the same rights as persons, Other than a few robots here and there, corporations are generally comprised of people. So I have never been able to quite grasp this concept. I think the conventional wisdom of those who espouse this is that corporations should have no rights. I believe we should take affirmative action to correct the socio-economic imbalances created by racism and sexism, I didn't own any slaves. I remember as a little guy moving from the hinterlands to Texas. First time I saw some of this racist stuff. They had water fountains in the stores for "Colored" and "White". I asked my mom what that was all about. She was embarassed to explain it. All I knew is the White fountain was too tall for me so I drank out of the other one. Didn't die and eventually that let me understand the whole deal about separation, etc. as a bunch of Hooey. With the stuff I have to deal with every day, I tend to look forward and not back or I might blow my brains out. Maybe you and your Liberal friends could try the same approach.

Interesting that the differences between CNN, MSNBC and Fox news aren't as far apart as one would be led to believe and the period covered in the "study" are the five days immediately following the Republican National Convention.
