Oralmann's drivel is so predictable that betting on it is banned in Las Vegas. The usual attacks on McCain and Palin, but this time the utterly unprofessional slanting of the news to help Obama is so blatant it should be insulting even to Olbyloons. And yes, we have our OlbyLie of the Day.

Beginning in the opening spiel, and repeatedly thereafter, Herr Olbermahn trumpeted one poll that showed Obama up by 9 points. He was 2/3 of the way into The Hour of Spin before he bothered to report the results of NBC's own poll, that show Obama up by only two. And then he besmirched his network's own product by dismissing it as an "outlier". At this point he cited two other polls: Fox (not Fixed! this time) Obama +6, Hotline Obama +6. Then Oralmann switched gears to defend the methodology of not NBC's poll, but the one that had Obama up by nine!

Olby eagerness to flog this poll over the others did not escape Chris Cillizza:

CILLIZZA: Any one poll, whether it shows the candidate you prefer up by ten or down by ten, should not be taken as the God's honest truth.

Touche! Cillizza went on to say that polls should be averaged for a good honest read, and that would show Obama up by "2,3,4,5 points". But Merkle had his own math:

OLBERMANN: You've got 9, 6, 6, and 2 in the four most recent polls.

That would make Obama up +6, but that doesn't compute with Cillizza's estimation. How come? Because Olbermoronn is a LIAR! Another Olbermann Lie! Those are not the "four most recent polls". In fact according to tonight's RCP polling list, the +6 Hotline poll is the seventh most recent. If you want to include Hotline in an average of recent polls, then you can't skip over Gallup +3, Bloomberg +4, and Rasmussen +2 to do so. Unless you're a lying, slovenly political hack like Keith "Man on Fan" Olbermann.

Clearly Keith took the three polls with the widest possible margin for Obama, included the NBC poll because his corporate masters had to be served, and tossed out all the intervening polls that showed a lower margin. Another way the infamous, deplorable Edward R Olbermoronn lies to his gullible viewers.

The Media Matters Minute was the usual stuff. Worse was two pilots in Hawaii, represented by sad faces over two anonymous men in pilot gear.

Worser was Marc Salter. A McCain attack followed. Ties to lobbyists! False outrage! Salter said something about spears, so Rev. Olbermoronn played the race card, noting that it was close to a racial epithet. [Blue Blog Source: Olbermann's blog --j$]

Worst was Rush Limbaugh. Comedian! [Ding!] "What a slump he's in." Keith "Don't call me Fred Travalena" Olbermann trotted out his poor Rush impression while quoting a blue blog of some kind saying that Obama is not really African-American...or something. Since it came from a blue blog, I don't buy it. With incredulous patronization, Fat Ass entoned: "Comedian [Ding!]Rush Limbaugh, now reduced to using leftover stuff from Monica Crowley...when she was guest-hosting Laura Ingraham's show?" Did the blue blog say that, too, Rip 'n Read? [Yep! --J$] "Rush, I mean, is something wrong?" Krazy Keith's voice drops in level, but rises in pitch: "We need you over here. You're one of the best weapons progressives have ever had." Aha! Finally, Keith "I am not politically biased" Olbermann admits he's a progressive! "We need you to be at your best down the stretch. I mean, seriously! Get a check-up!" As his voice calibrates, he dusts off an old sports anchor catchphrase: "Or get a roll of stamps and mail it in!" He finished with: "Comedian [ding!] Rush Limbaugh, now cribbing from Monica Crowley's outtakes!" And then came the usual closing crescendo.

And that's The Hour of Spin for this, the 872nd day since the declaration that "Karl Rove will in fact be indicted". Great thanks to our OlbyWatch recappers who did such an assiduously good job tonight with a thoroughly thankless task!

No wonder I couldn't find the link on Media Matters. I didn't think it went back to Monday. At what point in Rush's Monday radio show did he say what Brock Land says he said? I'm looking on Rush's website for official transcripts and don't know where to look.
Now, I'm going to read this full recap.

Only Olberacist could mangle "catch a falling spear" into a racial slur. Just like he did with "uppity". What other words are off-limits, Keith? Token, lazy, please,...?
