It's not like we haven't seen this before. But this time it was so incredibly blatant that it raises the question: why have Olbermann on the air at all? Why not just let Markos Moulitsas be the guy who hosts Countdown and runs MSNBC?
Markos "Screw 'Em" Moulitsas on Daily Kos, tonight at 11:23 pm:
Key debate moment:... Biden's emotion about his deceased wife and daughter was the tipping point in this debate - when he choked up, the focus dials went to the maximum.... This was clearly the most dramatic of the evening. What struck me was that Palin didn't seem to know Biden's family story. Anyone who knows what Biden has had to deal with raising his kids wouldn't have blithely made that comment.
24 minutes later, the infamous, deplorable Keith Olbermann is in a commercial break. Coming out of the break, guess what? He has discovered a 'key debate moment' that somehow had eluded him completely for the first 47 minutes of the hour:
OLBERMAHN: There was one moment in this debate which we have not yet discussed in our coverage here in its aftermath. It may have been ultimately the most connecting and most emotional certainly of the entire night...
Wow. What a coincidence. But wait, have they racked up the video yet? No? OK, well luckily there are more commercials first. And when Oralmann comes back from the second block of commercials--mirable dictu!--he has the tape cued up and ready to roll:
OLBERMAHN: That which is visceral also often does not sink in to those who have watched a debate until it is long gone in the past, until the debate itself is long since finished. We may have seen that tonight.... When Senator Biden began in brief to talk about the tragedy that afflicted him and his late first wife when he was 29 years old. [Cue the videotape!]
How long will (MS)NBC allow Edward R Olbermann to play a journalist on television, when in fact he is nothing more than Pinocchio to the Giupetto that is Daily Kos?
Apparently as long as the daily KOSmaNAZI want,
They are running the show at msDNC now
Both Olbermann and Maddow tried to paint Palin as insensitive to basic human emotion. These morons could not grasp the fact Palin did see the emotion he was feeling and she quickly changed the subject so he could compose himself. She did a spectacular job of allowing him time to get back into the debate. So Olbermann and "Olbermann in drag' could spend some time learning about humanity and humility. They certainly didn't show any.
Krazy Keith was told not to go
And to keep his Madcow in tow
But after the debate
It was all Palin hate
She won but they'll "say it ain't so"
Since the Debate Night Open Thread has gone far off the rails, I'll post this here:
Apparently, there was a Media Matters Minute last night, and in it, we got O'Reilly Attack #515. But first...
Worse was Glenn Beck. Blue blog source: Think Propaganda. http://thinkprogress.org/2008/10/02/beck-petraeus-oversight/
OlbySnark with a grin: "Great, a General overseeing part of civilian government. You do understand, Glenn, that that's called military dictatorship?"
Worser was Fred Thompson, re: "Early Show" appearance. There's a blue blog source in there somewhere. Here's the original source: http://tinyurl.com/4476oc
OlbyFlub: "A straight frace." A Palin attack followed. Dred Scott! Exxon Valdez!
Worst was O'Reilly Attack #515. So, I guess his O'Reilly-Frank distortion will be 516. "But our winner, Billo the Clown [Ding!]. Another money quote from his book, "A Balding Fresh Piece of Work." Blue blog source: Mother Jones. http://www.motherjones.com/mojoblog/archives/2008/10/10049_bill_oreilly_proof_of_god.html
I had to check my copy of "A Bold Fresh Piece of Humanity" to see where that blurb was taken from. It's nearly two paragraphs out of the entire last page of the last chapter in the book. As long as Keith "Man on Fan" Olbermann gets to attack his Olbsession, who needs to read the rest of the book? After another Ted Baxter overdramatization of the blurb, Olbermoronn replied: "Devil. You mean ask him or her if they still don't believe there's a-a-a-a devil. Typo." The conclusion sounded like his McCain impression: "Bill O'Reilly, today's Worst Person in this or any other..." Then, a switch back to normal: "...World!"
Just a 'Great Thanks' to Johnny $ for always stomaching the Daily Kos so that we don't have to, and for saying "raises the question" instead of "begs the question", the latter which noone seems to know how to use correctly anymore...
I just googled "o'reilly barney frank." I saw two potential blue blog sources for tonight: Wonkette and HuffPo.
http://wonkette.com/403252/bill-oreilly-shouts-at-barney-frank-for-being-gay
Wonkette twisted the "at least [Chris] Cox was man enough to admit he made a mistake" into a homophobic slur toward Rep. Frank...or at least their misleading headline says that. Nonetheless, it's a perfect source for Man on Fan.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/10/03/bill-oreilly-and-barney-f_n_131569.html
HuffPo wasn't as bad, but still claimed Mr. Bill abused Frank.
This begs the question: which source will Krazy Keith choose? Wonkette? HuffPo? Some other blue blog that I missed? We'll find out later tonight...if you have the stomach for it.
" When Senator Biden began in brief to talk about the tragedy that afflicted him and his late first wife when he was 29 years old."
Olbermann
Yes, I am glad we got to see Biden bring this up for the "first time".LOL
Did I say first time? I ment Gazillionth time.
Mike C: "Since the Debate Night Open Thead has gone fr off the rails, I will post here:"
Imaging that, a "Debate Night Open Thread" being used to talk about the debate.
The nerve of us!
