This is tonight's open thread for tonight's Hour of Spin. We need you to document the outrageous lies and vertiginous spin of the infamous, deplorable Keith Olbermann. Watch Oralmann if you dare, and do your recapping right here. Comments are open!
Let's start off with a ratings recap for Friday Dec. 5.
As you know, on Friday's show Olby pimped the fact that he won on two nights in a key demo category in one time slot ... though in reality he lost when considering both live show and the main rerun.

Also bear in mind that Olbermann had Jack Black and John C. O'Reilly on as guests!
O'Reilly was just too busy "wasting America's time" talking about an atheist sign in Washington.
But O'Reilly just talks about issues like that to drum up his ratings.
Of course, that's exactly what O'Reilly is supposed to do.
And I though making an issue of losing in the ratings was enough to get you named WPITW!
It's the same old thing with OlberJerk, he is too much of a chickenshit to show or talk about the full ratings game that goes on night after night. He will never show you the other side of the coin but only show you the side that is in his favor. It's too bad that when that happens from time to time, it is only short lived. Just like his show, he will never bring on a guest that has different views than that of his. Typical commie socialistic people like OlberJerk cater to their own followings. A sinking ship indeed.
What say you?
Hey America47000, if OlberJerk was pimping the ratings on Friday nites show, they must have been from a previous night? Unless Olby has something up his sleeve that we don't know about? Anyway, got to go get the snow off the driveway so I can get the cars in the garage.
Hence the title: Joseph Goebells Olbermann, the Minister of Propaganda- for the (coming) United States government.
When will he start calling Obama: Fuhrer?
It's spelled Goebbels. Anyone know what happened tonight? Thankfully, outside of reading a few transcripts last week, I've been Olby-free for four weeks. It's so great not having to hear his voice or see his mannerisms.
SoCalRightest: Forgive me. In my rush to post the numbers I inadvertently left out the full description.
Last week, Olbermann won the 25-54 demo in viewership during the live show on Monday and Wednesday, with O'Reilly winning Tuesday and Thursday. And O'Reilly also won all the rerun numbers, and won all four nights in the key demo when adding the live and rerun shows. That's what Keith was pimping on the Dec. 5 show when he said he won two of the nights that week.
Look through the recaps on this sight these past few days for links to the actual numbers.
#4: Olbermann repeats a standard Democrat lie in order to continue to smear President Bush.
Olby brings on the former teacher of future Veterans Affairs Secretary Gen. Shinseki. Olbermann said Rumsfeld and Bush fired Shinseki, then chief of staff of the Army, after the general said in a hearing that Iraq would require more troops than Rumsfeld thought was needed. Eventually, Rumsfeld was proven to be wrong, he was replaced, and the surge in essence validated Shinseki.
Olbermann repeats the lie that Shinseki was fired, a smear brought up by John Kerry in a 2004 election debate that was repudiated by FactCheck.org:
http://www.factcheck.org/distortions_galore_at_second_presidential_debate.html
In fact, Shinseki's retirement had been announced a year prior to the hearing. He left when he was supposed to. But the media likes to say he was fired because the Bush administration announced his replacement earlier than expected.
But he certainly was *not* fired
#3: Olbermann shows his ignorance about lawsuits challenging Obama's citizenship status. His guest: Arianna Huffington.
Olby says the Supreme Court declined the case of Donofrio v. Wells, which challanged Obama's status as a natural born citizen because his father was Kenyan.
The court declined to hear the case without opinion. Olby says there are other nuisance suits still out there, and then brings on Huffington to attack not only the notion that Obama isn't a citizen, but the Supreme Court swaying elections (taking a little dig at Bush along the way). Olby reads from a column by conservative David Horowitz denouncing such suits.
What Olby doesn't say about many of these cases not being heard is that many courts are dismissing them for not having standing. That means that in order to bring a lawsuit against someone, the plaintiff must show that they have been directly harmed or affected by the object of the suit. In these cases, many judges are thus declaring that ordinary citizens cannot then sue candidates who are ineligible for office. I imagine the SCOTUS declined to hear the case for similar reasons.
Well, Olbermann doesn't talk about this facet of the issue. To me, the notion that an ordinary citizen won't be harmed by a candidate who violates the law while running when ineligible is absurd.
One of the other suits out there, called Keyes v Bowen, in which former Presidential Candidate Alan Keyes has named California Sec. of State Debra Bowen in a suit seeking to bar California's electors from voting Dec. 15. As Keyes was the American Independent Party candidate for president on the California Ballot, against Obama, he clearly has standing. Similar suits in other states found in favor of Keyes would have the net effect of reducing the electoral college totals to a point where McCain in theory could still be elected.
The Horowitz article said conservatives shouldn't keep bringing this up and accept that they lost the election, and that Obama was elected and you don't want the political nightmare of the SCOTUS throwing out 66 million ballots.
That's a fair assessment.
But there's another case, called Berg v. Obama, brought by a Hillary supporter, that was dismissed for lack of standing. Berg brought this suit months ago, well before the Nov. 4 election. A decision in this case against Obama would have prevented Obama from even being on the ballot Nov. 4, thus negating the electoral college issue.
True, one key to several of these suits is the legitimacy of the Obama birth certificate. But what Olby also doesn't want to mention is that there are a ton of potential supporting documents in these cases. And at one point a judge ordered the Obama campaign to turn over many of these documents, and the campaign never did, biding their time until another judge dismissed the case due to a lack of standing.
The crux to most of these cases is the fact that Obama's mother moved with him to Indonesia when he was a minor, and that school documents from Indonesia list his citizenship as Indonesian. But, as neither Indonesia and the U.S. allows dual citizenship, the only way young Obama could have been a citizen of Indonesia is for his mother as his guardian to renounce his citizenship, which she reportedly did prior to marrying another man and moving to Indonesia.
The Keyes suit specifically cites this chain of events as meaning that even if Obama was born in Hawaii, his natural born citizenship status was surrendered, and thus to reclaim his citizenship he would be at most a naturalized citizen.
Granted, this is a stretch, as I'd hate to think a legitimate natural born citizen could lose that status without consent, and due to the wishes of another under circumstances beyond their control.
#2: WPITW
Worse goes to the Veterans Committee of the baseball Hall of Fame for not voting in the usual list of baseball players. I have to say that as a Dodgers fan I agree with Olby on the continued snub of Gil Hodges
Worser goes to Pat Boone for comparing Prop 8 protesters to Mumbai terrorists.

Who was Worst? Wait, let me rephrase that: What was Mr. Bill attacked for tonight (via blue blog source)?
You jumped in there Mike C before I could finish up.
Worse to Bill O'Reilly (surprise surprise), for writing "The Great American HOLIDAY Quiz despite attacking the War on Christmas.

Olby seems to have misinterpreted O'Reilly's preference for Christmas with thinking O'Reilly wants only Christmas to exist.
That's worst

What exactly did Keith say? What ad hominem attacks were used? What slurs for BOR? [First and last name without 'Reilly] the Clown?
The perfunctory Kwanzaa questions, however, are pretty simple; “What color are black people?”
I couldn't find that question, was it removed or did it not exisist to begin with? The comments on the Wonkette link leave me to believe its the latter.
Some of them are, well, pretty colorful.
Olby referred to Bill as "Benedict Arnold" because he supposedly betrayed the War on Christmas. He also took another swipe at A Bold Fresh Piece of Humanity
paraphrasing: "The winner of the quiz gets a copy of the book. The loser gets two copies."
Har har
Why isn't Olby out there actually trying to do something constructive like writing a quiz? Or a book?
Also amusing was the way Olby wanted to talk about Jay Leno's new 10 p.m. show.
Olby kept referring to it as if it would be the end-all of political humor shows. As if that's the bread and butter of Leno's comedy.
Then with that annoying smirk he often gets when he's especially full of himself, Olby quips "Poitical humor in prime time? Then what am I supposed to do?"
Are we supposed to believe Olby considers himself a satirist?
How will KO spin the Blagojevich story today?..Dem Gov caught trying to sell Obama's Senate seat,He's part of the same corrupt Chicago political machine that Obama's is...I'm betting if he dose cover it he won't even mention the guys party. New Murrow indeed.
MLong....The One is already stepping in it contradicting previous comments regarding his involvement in choosing the next Senator from Illinois (Axelrod said he DID talk to the governor about it) and he has a history of HUGE support of Blagojevich....(thanks to HotAir).....
http://hotair.com/archives/2008/12/09/obama-i-never-talked-to-blagojevich-about-the-senate-seat-axelrod-yes-he-did/
###
Ah, the church of SNOBamessiah will tell us all that The One has had no contact with Blago....while just two weeks ago Axelrod stated he had talked to him.....What did he just say today?.....
"I had no contact with the governor or his office and so I was not aware of what was happening,"
###
So which is it?....perhaps a Special Council should be appointed to investigate any possible wrongdoing by the church.....
VERO POSSUMUS!
The funny thing is about that Holiday Quiz O'Reilly wrote is that he's been promoting it for the better part of the past week on his show. And O'Reilly was specifically saying to look for the "Holiday Quiz" that he wrote. Days and days of "Holiday" quiz. That exact phrase. On O'Reilly's show. Of course I immediately assumed his haters would jump on it with a "What about the War on Christmas" hypocrisy angle.
And yet, nothing. Until the actual quiz came out. Only THEN did all the blogs, and thus Olby, decide to blather about O'Reilly writing a "Holiday" quiz instead of a "Christmas" quiz.
One can only assume from these simple observations that Olby and his blogger brigade DON'T ACTUALLY WATCH THE FACTOR.
Or they would have been all over this Holiday thing a week ago.
