It'll probably be a blowout tonight. Chopra and Turner on "The Factor" is a bigger draw than Leno on "Countdown." At least, it better be.
SHHHHHHH!! Its quite night on Countdown. We can't speak the name or party of a certain Governor of a certain state who was friends with a certain Messiah. Remember, to repeat that he is not the man we thought we knew. He has been purged from the party.
But how 'bout that Leno?
To be honest, I have no idea what happened. "The Tonight Show" is moving to 10PM? Is that what's going on?
I'm serious; I know very little about that situation. No sarcasm in my presentation here.
It was weird. When they were talking about the Gov of Ill getting busted, then showing Obama's reaction, then retraction, KO and his "son" Maddow, repeated nearly the same dialog verbatim!
I think he was literally all over Leno tonight, praising him, probably because he knows Jay will be cutting into his "rerun" show at that time and he was smooching butt
Well Mike C. .... in an inexplicable programming decision, NBC solved their 'Leno" problems by giving him the prime-est of prime time hours FIVE days a week. It won't be the Tonight Show...it will be cheap and eventually, a loser.
The funniest part of the whole thing was when Olby mentioned it on Monday night. He intimated that having Leno do a "funny" political commentary show (his characterization) would somehow infringe on Countdown!!!! "But..what about me?" followed by fake weeping. What planet does Olberdumb live on? Funny? In the same league with Jay Leno? OK...they pay him millions but the decision to do that was made by the same people who brought us Rosie Live!
Off with their heads.
Unfortunately, Scrappy, "Off with their heads" is heard by NBC/GE as "Give those guys a raise!"
So, Olby reports on the Blagojevich scandal with a similar incredulousness that has swept the national media in the wake of this understandable story. But of course he couldn't help but take a few snipes at the Bush administration. One swipe about Obama not commenting on an ongoing investigation ("not that again!"), and another about Karl Rove wanting to fire Patrick Fitzgerald during the Plame investigation (which Rove denied on Hannity & Colmes tonight).
Hey Olbermann! The gentleman from Illinois is the crook! Focus, man!
WPITW for Dec. 9
Worse: George Will, for a Washington Post column slamming Liberals who want to reinstate the Fairness Doctrine. Olbermann says no major Liberal wants to and states Will doesn't even name one in his column.
(No Major Liberals? How about Nancy Pelosi? On the record. Does she count?)

Worser: Sean Hannity (*yawn*) for complaining about how quickly Ted Stevens was indicted, tried and convicted, while stating Democrats can take forever to get tried for political expediency. Olby says Stevens asked for the speedy trial.

Worst: Bill O'Reilly (surprise surprise). In his latest "boy who cried wolf" moment, Olby says O'Reilly can add "liar" to his list of adjectives (really Keith? So all those other times you called him a liar he *wasn't* supposed to add those to his resume?) for defending Newt Gingrich's comments about Prop 8 protesters. Olby says New York editors were never asked to go on The Factor, though Billo claims they refused to come on. Olby then makes a little psychological analysis of O'Reilly (that's rich) about O'Reilly just steamed at the "journalistic icons of his youth," such as the New York Times, Newsday, the New Yorker and, of course, NBC, all "rejecting" him (someone tell Olby that he works for MSNBC, which is, technically speaking, also not the classic NBC News).

Apparently Olby, in saying the New Yorker's Hendrik Hertzberg's initial response to Gingrich was "appropriate" (did Olby ever name Gingrich WPITW over this?), believes you should have the right to deplorable behavior when a vote doesn't go your way, like when gay protesters knock crosses out of old ladies' hands and invade churches.
Seriously, when Olbermann bashes O'Reilly, how does anyone take him seriously anymore? It's like he's admitting the only reason his show exists is to refute anything O'Reilly does (which Olby has admitted before, but who is going to remember that? Oh wait. US!)
Three moments of Olby-hypocrisy in in tonight's O'Reilly attack. First, he dismisses The Factor as an O'Reilly "egofest" (how exactly is Countdown not an egofest? Isn't having guests on who always agree with you a way to stroke your own ego?).
Second, his whole point of the segment is that O'Reilly lied about Hertzberg still being willing to go on the Factor, but Hertzberg's own blog contains a note from his editor *declining* a chance to go on the Factor.
Third, and this is rich, he says O'Reilly is somehow steamed at the New York Times and NBC for rejecting him. Is this the same Olbermann saying this who once worked at Fox News, was fired because, among other things, Rupert Murdoch thought he was nuts, and now spends most of his time taking swipes at his former employers who are now killing him in the ratings.
And this gets better. Turns out the ratings from Sunday showed that Fox Sports did great viewership numbers with the overrun of its NFL game, while the NBC Sunday game seems to be losing viewers.
So, nope, Olbermann has no reason to be jealous of Fox!
A hypocrite and a douchebag. A daily double for Olbermann!
Why must he make this so easy?
At OlbyWatch, we refer to Olby-hypocrisy as Olbypocrisy. I always love your recaps, America47000. I didn't click on the link to Hertzberg's column, but the link shows it's titled "Billo [Ding!] and me." Sorry "The Factor" "ruined [your] pleasant morning" last Tuesday, Mr. H.
A governor not from Alaska
Or the (R) state of Nebraska
He's from Barry's state
It's Obama-gate
They've got a blank check and they'll "ask" ya
Mike C: "Sorry "The Factor" ruined [your] pleasant morning" last Tuesday, Mr. H."
While I don't have a clue what you are talking about?...... I have that sneaky suspicion that by "Mr.H.", you are once again referring to me. Mike C, why do you keep confronting me when you claim to abhor and run away from confrontation?
Meanwhile, if you are applauding anything "The Factor" who posts on this blog has said, the very fact that you would defend such a foul mouthed, self-centered, and self-deluded individual says more than you know about your own values.
He was referring to Hendrik Hertzberg, a writer for the New Yorker, who said that an O'Reilly Factor producer interrupted his pleasant morning by approaching him on the street and asking him about a column he wrote about Newt Gingrich. I covered this in my WPITW recap above.
Nothing to do with you MikeH.
I did mean Hendrik Hertzberg. But with an H among the registered users, I wish his name was Gendrik Gertzberg. Then, I could have said "Mr. G." "You mean the meteorologist at Channel 11?" Okay, then Kendrik Kertzberg. Either way, I didn't mean our H.
This has been Mike "Evil person that needs to look in the mirror" C. speaking.
lol that was a good laugh.
I always had a suspicion haters came in here to stroke their own egos.
