Yes this is your Wednesday thread to recap The Hour of Spin. But tonight we have a special bonus: dramatic readings from the blue blog outrage over the Blago scandal! Since we know the infamous, deplorable Keith Olbermann uses blue blogs as news sources, consider this a window into the sort of diseased dementia that informs Monkeymann's 'newscast' night after night...
A few days after gloating (on his Dec. 5 show) that he only barely lost in the key demo in one timeslot for the week, after picking off two wins in that narrow category, Olbermann was obliterated by O'Reilly in the ratings last night.
Ratings recap for Dec. 9:
8PM - P2+ (25-54) (35-64)
The O’Reilly Factor—3,446,000 viewers (796,000) (1,351,000)
Campbell Brown —1,246,000 viewers (401,000) (590,000)
Countdown w/Keith Olbermann —1,569,000 viewers (550,000) (785,000)
Nancy Grace –1,091,000 viewers (414,000) (613,000)
9 PM - P2+ (25-54) (35-64)
Hannity & Colmes—2,789,000 viewers (743,000) (1,144,000)
Larry King Live—1,599,000 viewers (522,000) (793,000)
Rachel Maddow Show —1,427,000 viewers (471,000) (677,000)
On the Money—162,000 viewers (60,000) (71,000)
Lou Dobbs- 531,000 viewers (235,000) (290,000)
Olby barely beat Campbell Brown.
Of course, O'Reilly had Deepok Chopra and Ted Turner as guests, while Olby had Jay Leno.
And Maddow lost to Larry King Live.
So what Olbermann did last week is sort of like if the Washington Nationals (who are a terrible baseball team) were to hold a news conference (or throw a parade) to celebrate scoring more runs than the other team in one inning of a game they lost by a wide margin.
Keep up the good work, Keith!
YouTube is undergoing scheduled maintenance starting at 10:00. So, you may be unable to view the Gibson video.
Wow, Ward Maddow lost to that fossil Larry King? That's pitiful. I can't wait for the Barak impeachment trial.
Heck, Olbermann barely got more total viewers than Larry King, and fewer in the 35-64 demo!
Doesn't this show that when there's actual news to be had, people will tune in anywhere *but* MSNBC?
The tape exonerates the Pres-elect.
So, anyone catch that ad tonight on Countdown for AshleyMadison.com?
This is a dating service for married or attached people who want to discreetly have an affair.
Stay classy, MSNBC.
WPITW for Dec. 10.
Worse: Dick Morris for criticizing Hillary Clinton for claiming to be a Yankee fan.

Olbermann for some reason wastes a bunch of time citing sources that support Hillary having been a Yankee fan since she was a kid — ya know, real Earth-shattering stuff — before getting to his real reason for this piece, to remind us all that Dick Morris had to resign from the Clinton administration for his involvement with a prostitute.
Is it wise for Olby to dis people who see prostitutes considering the morally bankrupt nature of where his advertising is coming from (see comment above)? Pretty soon, he might actually be running ads *from* prostitutes!
Worser: Steve Doocy from the "vendetta-filled show Fixed and Friends." (More Olbypocrisy, labeling another show vendetta-filled when Olby spends half his time on his show ripping other people, especially those from the network that once canned his ass! What was that Olby likes to say about projection?). Reason: something about once altering a photo as a caricature, which to Olby is proof that Doocy is lying when he says the show doesn't get back at people in an over-the-top-way.

Worst: Guess who. Again. Lame. Not for anything Olby can prove Billo did. But he just assumes Billo had the technical director at the Fox News late-night show "Redeye" bleep his name out in connection with a jocular discussion about marijuana. A guest said that Fox News had the best weed in its green room, and a host allegedly retorted that "Mr. O'Reilly does not like it when you get into his personal stash sir."
"Mr. O'Reilly" was bleeped. That all you got, Keith? Any actual journalism ever in trying to get anyone from Fox to actually comment on this non-story? Like I assume you never try to get before you take these petty potshots?
Anyway, Keith then says most people would obviously assume they bleeped the name "Mr. Murdoch." As if any sane person couldn't tell it was all a joke.
He also said the guys at Redeye already have enough problems because they work for Fox News (from which Olbermann was once fired. But his rejection argument from last night doesn't apply here, does it). Yep, working for the top-rated Cable News channel is a harsh living. Probably why they don't need to take ad money from Web sites that encourage men to cheat on their wives.
Speaking of bleeping, didn't MSNBC have some trouble last month with a host who dropped an F-bomb on live TV?
Some real low-rent stuff tonight.
More Palin video from Keith
His pit bull is missing its teeth
He's Sarah-obsessed
Mentally distressed
Whose desk is he hiding beneath?
Angry Rich is just raw untutored acting brilliance.
He could be the next Robert De Niro.
His heartfelt recitation of the post about the Blago scandal being a victory for justice, moved me to tears...
The Doocy blue blog source might have been TVNewser, which linked to the NY Daily News.

If Keith quoted what TVNewser quoted, then *that* was his source.
Worst blue blog source: Eyes on Fox. http://www.eyesonfox.org/?p=442
Via the transcript from last night's show:
"Dick Morris in year 12 of his endless vengeance campaign against the Clintons."
"... but they were even before Dick Morris had to resign as President Clinton's top political adviser because he let a prostitute listen in to one of his conversations with the president on the phone."
"Steve Doocy of the vendetta filled show 'Fixed News [Ding!] and Friends' telling an interviewer that, quote [Ding!]..."
"Never in an over-the-top way. Yes, like the time they didn't like an article from Jacques Steinberg of 'The New York Times' so they took photos of Steinberg and the editor Steven [Reddicliffe] and altered them before putting them on the air to make them look like anti-Semitic caricatures. Never in an over the top way, mind you."
"Bill O. [Ding!] or somebody working on his behalf, FOX's show 'Red Eye' he's sometimes very funny, sometimes very crass, sometimes very stupid and last night it was very censored internally."
"Bienenstock says what he heard bleepy Schultz say was [Keith probably read from a gotcha paper at this point] 'Mr. O'Reilly does not like it when you get into his personal stash sir, I'm calling security' and they bleeped his name. [Here would be where said gotcha paper is put back on the desk.] The dark side here, these 'Red Eye' guys don't need me defending them, they work for FOX, they got enough problems. But in bleeping the obvious joke about Bill O. [Ding!], there's the unintended bright side. Somebody somewhere heard that and just assumed that what Schultz had said had been so horrible that it had to have been bleeped must have been 'Mr. Murdoch does not like it when you get into his personal stash, sir.' Billo [Ding!] the bleep. Today's worst person in the world!"
Good old transcripts. Written words are much better than video and audio where voices and mannerisms can be seen and heard and engrained into my head.
Tonight's Gregalogue will be about our pal Rip 'n Read:

"Today's Gregalogue is about Keith Olbermann's segment last night about Red Eye. I'm not posting it because i want it to be a surprise!"
I'll post this in the Thursday recappers thread, too.
