Olbermann Watch, "persecuting" Keith since 2004

    Countdown: Monday Recappers Thread

    Bathtub Boy

Here's tonight's recappers thread for The Hour of Spin. Rumors are swirling that the infamous, deplorable one might inflict another Special Education Komment on the world tonight. So we need you to document the outrageous lies and vertiginous spin of Krazy Keith. Watch Oralmann if you dare, and do your recapping right here. Comments are open!

Oh you know he's going to rip Bush and the rest of the ones who approved of torture one final blow tonight. It would be a shock to me if there isn't at least 20 comments by the 10pm (EST) hour tonight.

    Is this guy for real?

"... while we celebrate our liberation this week ..."

Excuse me. Our LIBERATION? Yes, because George W. Bush has spent the better part of 8 years oppressing the rights of Mr. Keith Olbermann. Making sure that douchebag can't go on the air night after night and bash the president and attempt to undermine each and every one of his policies for reasons of pure ideological spite.

And now this parting shot, as if living in the USA under George W. Bush is akin to second-world communism, or the dictatorship of some third-world bannana republic. Our lord in Heaven, let us all celebrate our newfound "liberation" with the ascension of the glorious messiah!

Seems the only "liberation" Olby supports is that of terrorists who have vowed to kill us. I wonder why

What made me sick, was during the first part of Countdown, KO talks about the breaking story of Cheney hurting his back and resorting to being in a wheelchair for the ceremony tomorrow. "Much to the delight of the people behind me."

Then you hear cheers from behind him. Followed shorty by the chorus of Steam's, "Na-na-na-na, wave goodbye." That is just pathetic and so very sad.

Anyone who was singing should be ashamed and deported, in my opinion. So far, KO is trying to hold back his enthusiasm while trying to do his show tonight. You know he just wants to bust out and say, "WE DID IT."

"So this is how liberty dies...with thunderous applause."

I wrote a response earlier on KOS to Bathtub Boy's comments, I'm sure they never put it up but here it is for you all to see. I'm sure I'll be banned from there, but who cares.

Torturing is justifed and warranted, PERIOD. P.S. Keith: The Declaration wasn't about slavery, unless you were there, and you weren't, you don't know it was to be free and independant that ALL men are created equal. At that time, slavery was considered "normal". You know about Jefferson and his brood that he had kept behind the scenes, etc.

Yes, the "new dawn" is approaching and tomorrow at Noon, we will experience the moment when "liberty dies...with thunderous applause" from the mindless drones who have flocked to D.C. to see this "Immaculation" so to speak.

Cheney and company should NOT be held responsible for any...hear me now "ANY" war crimes whats so ever. Do you think if we capture Bin Laden that we're not going to beat the "you know what out of him?" Of course not, but if he were defy interrogation and such, then's necessary.

Back in 2001, at ground zero, where "you said under the debris and dead bodies" Bush spoke and said the people who did this will be hearing from us soon. Didn't THAT get a thrill up your leg like it did your boy Matthews whenever Obama breathes?

No, you and the rest of the liberal media bashed this poor man over and over. No President had ever experienced what he did on that September day, and hopefully no other President will either. But...he has KEPT and let me repeat this...KEPT any other kind of attack from happening since. And yet you and the media keep bashing and bashing him.

You of all people Mr. Olbermann (and I use that term VERY lightly) have the nerve to on several occasions call President Bush to and I quote, "shut the hell up and you are a facist." I only hope that you return the favor and do the same to the new President during the next four years. But then again, you don't vote so in reality, YOU SIR have no right to even bring up something that you have no real right to say.

OK. He's comparing this "torture" to slavery, segregation, WWII and Hitlers attempted extermination of Jews. Olbs is one sick puppy. Pouring water down the throat of somebody is not even on the same level. Continuing to make these absurd, insane comparisons will further isolate his audience.

He's in front of a crowd in Washington?

"Mr. President - you're guilty, guilty as sin." Whatever Keith....

Keith sleeps with his buddy's offspring
Mister Tur, that must really sting
    Whose pimping that whore?
    Two bits but no more
And your daughter gets no wedding ring?

Does the guy from the nation magazine try to look like Olbermanns twin

I visited the "Countdown" website and was able to make out (without viewing the video) that Wendell Goler was Worst in WPitW. Blue blog source: Think Propaganda.

Anyone that watched care to elaborate on WPitW?

I read this a few months ago and saved it for tonight....

Jeffrey Shapiro, an attorney who interned with John Kerry’s legal team, wrote an excellent column in (the) Wall Street Journal drawing attention to shabby treatment the president has been given. He said, in part, “The treatment President Bush has received from this country is nothing less than a disgrace. The attacks launched against him have been cruel and slanderous proving to the world what little character and resolve we have. The president is not to blame for all these problems. He never lost faith in America or her people, and has tried his hardest to continue leading our nation during a very difficult time. Our failure to stand by the one person who continued to stand by us has not gone unnoticed by our enemies. It has shown to the world how disloyal we can be when our president needed loyalty – a shameful display of arrogance and weakness that will haunt this nation long after Mr. Bush has left the White House.” Keith Olbermann should be ashamed of himself.

Wendell said Bush inherited a recession and 9/11 or something like that, that was WPIW

Oralmann's pre-pimped parting shot Special Education Komment, which was presented in front of a live audience [of Kool-aid drinkers], is currently in the Olbermann Flood via Crooks & Liars.

Here's what I get from that OlbyFlood blurb: Keith would like very much to launch some fishing expeditions against the outgoing 43rd President and his entire administration...also, Republican Representatives and Senators. Am I in the ballpark?

on WPITW, worse was Ken Blackwell for apparently saying he was against Obama creating 600,000 new federal jobs because it would just create a voting block for Democrats, making it harder for them to lose in Virginia. KO made some snide comment about his priorities being in order. As if creating a welfare state of make-work jobs beholden to Democrats was the top priority (yes, I get that Keith meant just creating jobs to boost the economy was the priority, but Blackwell is right).

Worser was something about Spirit airlines, for charging a $90 flight cancelation fee to several passengers on the plane that went down in the Hudson.

Worst was as noted before, Wendell Goler for saying Bush inherited 9/11 and a recession. Obviously 9/11 happened well into the Bush term, but Olbermann again went off on the recession Bush inherited beginning in March 2001, two months after he took office. I wonder how KO explains how Bush in two months caused a recession, when all the indicators are the economy was in the downward trend anyway at that point.

Worth noting that on Martin Luther King day KO picks two black guys for WPITW. F***n racist.

Last week on Red Eye Greg brought up that Denver College who planned to creat a "Republican Seat" at the school to offer a voice to views that oppose the liberial campus experience that exists there.

Greg said something like " People don't become conservatives because of recruiting, they start out as liberials and eventually just get sick of all the whiney ones they use to be friends with."

I just can't help but wonder that if Bathtub Boy continues this streak of bashing everything right and praising everyting left he'll actually be responsible for building a bigger conservative base.

It's libs like him that made me become a conservative in my mid 20's. And every action has an opposite reaction.

Worth noting that on Martin Luther King day KO picks two black guys for WPITW. F***n racist.

By America47000Author Profile Page on January 20, 2009 3:57 AM

I enjoy the heck out of your posts, A47, but that wasn't racism.

I'd like to recommend the following article by David Horowitz.

I've not been a big fan of Horowitz. I've considered him a shoot-from-the-hip inflammatory leftist turned shoot-from-the-hip inflammatory conservative.

However, in his piece How Conservatives Should Celebrate the Inauguration, Horowitz is on the money in several ways.

The most intriguing point he makes is that it is just as likely as not that Obama as president has united the country TO THE BENEFIT of the wars in Iraq and in Afghanistan, as well as to the benefit of countering terrorism in general.

Whereas a large portion of the country couldn't bring themselves to support a Republican at war, they will support (as they did Clinton's pre-emptive bombing raids, etc) a Democratic president at war.

What's more, Obama has given every indication that he will be cautious and pragmatic (rather than simplistically idealistic) about change in the Middle East and about American interests there in a way that say...Harry Reid... is not.

Horowitz goes beyond cursory ( and entirely valid) calls to support our new president and to rejoice in what his election says about our country's tolerance and opportunity, to arguing that it's in a conservative's interest to get behind any message of personal responsibility and to see the opportunity that lies in Obama's ability to bring people together.

Right now, Obama sounds far more Reagan than Kos Kid. If he can carry THAT crowd into THAT mentality and that sort of "reality based" view of the world and the nation, EVERYONE is better off.

As Glenn Beck eloquently said, let's support Obama when we can and oppose him when we must.

Let's not cut off our nose to merely spite our face.

"What it means is that the race card has been played out and America can once again see itself -- and be seen -- for what it is: a land of incomparable opportunity, incomparable tolerance, and justice for all. Conservative values -- individual responsibility, equal opportunity, racial and ethnic pluralism, and family -- are now symbolically embedded in the American White House. As a result, a great dimension of American power has been restored."

If that was true, I would agree with Mr. Horowitz. It is not true. A portion of our country cannot come to that conclusion because it thwarts their narrow, self-serving agenda.

I have ALWAYS known the above observation to be true because I see it every day in my child's nursery school, in my profession, in my church, in my neighborhood....people of all colors and creeds living and enjoying God's creation in freedom....

But to the left, that reality must always be corrupted, ignored or simply derided for other reasons....The above conclusion must always have an asterix and in government policy, social policy and economic policy the battle is met.

President Obama may indeed be making overtures to some with views to his right, but in the end, the American left has an agenda that scoffs at Mr. Horowitz's conclusion because it would make them irrelevant. Either Obama will placate those in his base or become politically impotent if he loses their support.

The common sense of personal responsibility, serving others, equal opportunity for all and freedom have never left our American culture, it has simply been the victim of propaganda and "perception." Millions of our fellow citizens have not over-leveraged their homes, have saved responsibily, educated their children, helped their neighbors, volunteered in their communities and given their resources both to the government for use and to charitable organizations....Obama becoming President has not changed that or begun that trend.

That is what frustrates me....and why I look VERY cynically on what is ocurring because it has a tinge of "cult of personality," which I believe is unecessary and potentially dangerous to our nation. Along with the baggage of "progressive policy," the Obama administration may indeed fall into the old trappings of unchecked power.

Although millions gather to watch today, many more millions will be doing their duty in their jobs and family responsibilities....not at all affected by the symbols, pomp and imagery. That is reality. It is simply right to be responsible, respect others, help the less fortunate and to defend freedom....I do not think a speech, fancy balls or even simply who our nation's chief executive are necessary to make such things, "cool," again. I am more concerned about the policy and how far it treads outside the boundries of our founding.

Style over substance....that is what is wrong with our country.

"It's almost like what you've seen with Che Guevara or Eva Peron, when a political leader has this coolness factor that goes well beyond their political beliefs. They represent something even bigger."

"I enjoy the heck out of your posts, A47, but that wasn't racism."

I was being sarcastic. KO likes to say any criticism of black liberals is racist.

The emblematic nature of this election and the "cult of the personality" factor works both ways. It's far harder to claim victimhood when the face of power looks like those of the downtrodden.

Indeed "millions" aren't in DC today and will be doing their jobs and educating their children and fulfilling their responsibilities, etc.

As you have suggested these people are not ideological extremists. Neither is the crowd at the DC mall. It is NOT largely composed of people who are ideological extremists.

It's my view that the Left is going to find it much more difficult to play the same cards BECAUSE of this presidency.

It's a new day in more than one way. It's one that may bring an end to the guilt game and a closing of the injury account.

The emblems and the symbols of this time in history are positive towards conservatism too. If it will make liberals or the media feel better to call it Obamaism or bonservatism, by all means go along with them and call it that.

The presidency has certain realities and the majority of American constituents are not Kos Kids. It's my wager that you're going to see Keith Olbermann defending positions he would have been attributing to fascism if held by someone with an (R) after their name.

When that day comes, I think I can look past the great moai-head of partisan imbecility, and say, "right, on, brother!"

I can say "hurray for bonservatism" when I see it...

I think it was the University of Colorado, Lafinman. CU is in Boulder.
I've been watching the Inauguration coverage since 10:50 on FNC, briefly switching to my local Fox station (WNYW). I've also had "The Radio Factor" on since after the Inauguration address.

I hope you are right Cecelia because the ease to ascribe such power to imagery, rhetoric, symbols and even in drawing a crowd can be incorrectly thought of as power but still not matter much in a crisis.

It is also the baggage that comes with "bonservatism." I am not as optimistic as you seem to be in regard to its benign nature.

If there has truly been an evolution from the campaign Barack Obama to the present day President Obama, I will be glad.

I have yet to see convincing proof.

Olby was up on his high horse with his special komment. "We have tortured people. You and I. In this, the people's democracy" (what is this, China?).

He repeated this in his closing statement.

Couple things here. First, he wants to prosecute Bush, but in his mind Bush is already guilty. So he thinks we really don't need a trial because Bush "confessed" (even though "everything we did was legal" hardly amounts to a confession ... sounds more like a denial to me). Because in a trial, the defendant gets to present an opposing view to the prosecution. This is something that is foreign to Olby ... the ability to present an opposing view. Has Olby ever had anyone on his show from the Bush administration to present their side of things? Or has he only ever showed select portions of clips to distort the record? Typical of Olby, he presents only facts that go his way, and when the facts don't, he cites ideological sources that disagree with the facts, thus presenting these opinions as facts.

Olby doesn't want Bush to have a fair trial, just to go straight to jail, to "heal our nation" or "set a precedent" or whatever. How does that fit in with olby's democratic values? Or is that DEMOCRAT values? There is a difference.

But what if Bush had a trial, and was vindicated? Such as with the FISA court on wiretaps? What would Olby say? The trial was rigged? The attorney general must dig up new evidence? No, Olby doesn't really want a trial. He just wants Bush in jail.

So let's extend that scenario. Bush, in jail, with no trial. Wait a minute, isn't that the very mindset for which Olby accuses the Bush administration? For which Olby wants to throw the Bush administration into jail in the first place.

No. Olby's caught up on symbolism. Obama washing free the sins of the nation by throwing the former leader into jail. But throwing Bush into jail is bad symbolism, and Olby can't seem to grasp this concept.

To Olby, it all boils down to Bush's non-confession that he thinks is a confession. Which brings me to my second point:

If through Bush everyone in the nation is guilty of torture, and Olbermann feels so strongly about our guilt, I would have no problem if we sent HIM to prison to "symbolically" serve out the punishment he thinks we as a nation deserve. If he wants to confess for all of us, then he can serve our time.

Oh, and I fully expect Olbermann to hammer away at John Roberts for "causing" Obama to stumble through his oath of office.

    Here's the facts:

Obama stepped on Roberts at the beginning by trying to recite the oath before Roberts was done talking.

Roberts left out the word "faithfully" at one point, then realized he left it out and reinserted it. The oath should read "I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States." When Roberts realized his omission, he pushed it to "I will execute the office of President of the United States faithfully." Obama paused after "execute," Roberts repeated, and Obama said the latter part.

So, Obama didn't actually read the oath as laid out in the constitution, but the constitution doesn't specify that it's anyone's duty to administer the oath to him.

It boils down to the fact that both guys were really nervous. Don't forget it's Roberts' first inauguration as Chief Justice. And Obama was clearly nervous during the first part of his speech. He didn't seem to have that same fire or confidence he had during some of the campaign speeches he made.

So if Olbermann or anyone else at MSNBC brings this up, you know the facts.

Side note: Obama voted against confirming Roberts as chief justice.

The blogs are now jumping on the flubbed oath. The nutjobs at the Daily Kos are lining up to bash Roberts ... "Has he EVER read the constitution."

They can't even let a simple thing like that go. Obama's perfect coronation, ruined. Oh darn.

Seems to me both men were tripped up when Obama started his part of the oath while Roberts was still speaking.

If it's Obama's attempt to unify the political divide in this country, he might start by cutting off the chaff in his own party.
But still, this is probably something they should have rehearsed.

Oh boy....I had the same thought after the oath....The left is going to blame the Chief Justice and perhaps even theorize malace secondary to his political leanings and then Senator Obama's rejection of his nomination.

Perhaps he'll be WORST PERSON IN THE WORLD!

40 minutes ago, Keith's kompadre in thought, Steve Somers (on WFAN, of all places), chose his monologue to join in the MSNBC Bush bash-a-thon.

OK, I feel really bad for saying this, but I must confess.

Just imagine how foolish the libs would look if they were grilling GWB in a Congressional investigation? GWB would be explaining to the American people that "WE" poured water down a murderer's nose WHICH resulted in information that may have saved hundreds/thousands of lives. The American people would turn against these lefty loons in a second when they realize how extreme they are.

    Bring it on you loons.

Well Olbermann let it slide..although he did mention it at the beginning. I dont know about you alll but I was not impressed by the specch, it was very lame.

Now can we have the offical countdown clock for when Obama leaves? Please on here? :)

We've reached a very important date regarding Keith Gobbels-Olbermann. The Minister of Propaganda is a One Note Song and today, that "Note" is no longer in office. Besides kissing Obama's ass, what more can this clown do? Fortunately, KO is about to begin a decent into obscurity. It should be fun watching him decend further into insanity as his rating plunge.

Perhaps a new thread should be started where we can all say Good Bye to our favorite Propagandist.

Hey SB_Mich, maybe we could start with Roy Rogers and Dale Evans riding off into the sunset sing Happy Trails to you with a picture of old Olby sitting in his bathtub?

    Thank you.

A small portion of the finest example of comment writing I've seen in quite awhile:

"The common sense of personal responsibility, serving others, equal opportunity for all and freedom have never left our American culture, it has simply been the victim of propaganda and "perception." Millions of our fellow citizens have not over-leveraged their homes, have saved responsibily, educated their children, helped their neighbors, volunteered in their communities and given their resources both to the government for use and to charitable organizations....Obama becoming President has not changed that or begun that trend."

    Thanks ramjet.

I think the symbolism expressed in this short clip of the mall after the group therapy session is powerful.....
