This is tonight's recappers thread for The Hour of Spin. We need you to document the outrageous lies and vertiginous spin of Krazy Keith. Watch Oralmann if you dare, and do your recapping right here. Comments are open!
A Friday night drubbing:
Keith Olbermann's vigorous new campaign to see George W. Bush prosecuted for "war crimes" is off to a stellar start, with Olby posting some of the worst ratings numbers I've seen from him. The O'Reilly rerun scored better in the key demo than did KO's live show. Ouch
Not only did Countdown finish a distant third, but Maddow did as well, and MSNBC is looking up not only at Fox News, but CNN.
http://tvbythenumbers.com/2009/01/26/cable-news-ratings-for-friday-january-23/11591
Ouch, that's gotta sting.
Was there even a show on friday? After I was done watching all the fine programming on Fox MSNBC went right to Lock Up and Caught on Camera for the weekend.
There was a show. I gave a WPitW recap in the Friday thread.
Ah missed it completely on Friday.
Only tuned in tonight to learn sadly, and tragically, that KO is in Tampa. I'll be listening to the Superbowl on the radio if avaible on Sunday.
Yes, KO's manly guest, Prof. TurDly...oops I shouldn't have included that "D".... insists that Bush did commit war crimes & if Obama does not pursue prosecution well then the Messiah will be aiding & abetting.
What load of *&*&)#%$)_!^!
I don't believe I've seen a 3 to 1 live ratings ratio for Billo vs KO. It's usually 2 to 1. And the same is usually true for Hannity vs Ms. KO.
IMPRESSIVE!
When Prof Turley said that Obama could be an accessory to President Bush's "war crimes," you could hear Goebbels-Olbermann choke. Surely Turley doesn't realize the the Great and Mighty Obama could do no wrong (at least on Countdown.)
Normally, The Minister of Propaganda would ban a guest who spoke against el Messiah, but since Turley is one of the few law "experts" who believe that President Bush actually committed war crimes, Turley will certainly be back on. (probably once or twice more this week.)
Man, look at those ratings plunge downward. I didn't expect Countdown to stumble like this til aroud May, but I'm glad to see it.
When will the next Special Comment occur? Thursday or Friday?
Look out Campbell Brown, some deranged baseball card collector is gonna start attacking you.
(how dare a woman prevent KO's important message from coming out.)
Why is bathtub boy so enamored with the 25-54 demographic. It can't be because of the advertising revenue.
Have you noticed the ads during Countdown? They are not aimed at BB's sacred demographic. They are mostly from companies trying scam senior citizens medicade accounts and ambulance chasers.
It seems more and more of my liberal friends (Sorry, I live in California) are starting to see that Olbermann is a clown who is growing less and less funny. "He has gone to far over the top" is one of the comments I hear often.
I would think he'd go after Nancy Grace rather than Campbell Brown. But I only think Grace prevailed Friday night because of the news that George Anthony--father of Casey, grandfather of Caylee--tried to commit suicide.
Good point ifticar,
Most people would regaurd Bathtub Boy watchers like myself as hardcore-conseravtives. While some of us are, there are those of us (me) from the center who can see him for the joke he is.
I've watched a lot shows from the right-wing, the centered ( there out there ),and the left and Olbermanns show is a far cry from being professional.
It only took one episode of Countdown fo rme to realize he's an idiot. And I've been around. But even as a guy who liked Obama KO's lovefest with the messiah ( I use that to mock Obama worshipers, not Obama ) is unhealthy and at most very damaging.
If anything Olbermann is the wrong voice for the left, he does more damaga than good. But then again the idiot is a self-proclaimed bipartisan cause he doesn't vote.
My God how obvious is msnbc? I mean they can't find anything more negative about the Iraq war now that their enemy (USA) has turned the tide with the surge, so they now have to go all out to go after the president who was behind it.
Who's next? Maybe they'll try to string up Nancy Reagen for aiding and abetting her husband, as he was responsible for bringing down the Berlin wall.
Jesus, just how low will this station stoop to prove their hatred for America? You woulda thought that after their rock star was elected that they'd be happy enough with finally getting their man in, but it just seems to get worse.
To borrow a great line from "The Road to Perdition" it's all so fucking ridiculous!
So, Olby goes on tonight in that Turley interview and conflates the torture and wiretap issue, and says it's a slam dunk case against Bush because of his so-called "confession" about torture, and former NSA whackjob Russell Tice's paranoid ravings. During the segment Olby referred to Bush's "illegal wiretaps"
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the FISA court rule the wiretaps were legal?
Here's how far out the ad situation is at MSNBC. I once saw an ad run during Countdown for AshleyMadison.com. This is a web site for a dating service that caters to married men and women who want to have a discreet affair. Great moral values there. Throw this ad up and then Olby really must have the gall to go out and proclaim marriage about love and that gay people should have the same privilege. Yeah, whatever
OK. Now for some fun. Here's the part where I show my objectivity while doing Keith Olbermann's job for him. Maybe he'll even use this as a Blog source.
So, Bill O'Reilly likes to go on his show and rip G.E. With cause, usually, since Jeff Immelt is running the company into the ground.
One of O'Reilly's tenants is that G.E. did business with Iran and deserves what it gets. And he can't believe anyone would do business with G.E.
I hate to bring this up, but there's a service called Hulu.com that is a leading provider of streaming TV shows and other content. The site is a joint venture between News Corp. and NBC Universal.
NBC Universal is 80% owned by G.E., And of course News Corp is the parent company of Fox.
Which of course means that Bill O'Reilly's Fox News is in a way in business with G.E.
Has Olbermann ever brought this up?
Well, if he does now, we'll know where he got the idea.
Sorry guys and gals but I guess I've been lagging behind. Are you telling me that he has a nightly segment called "Still Bushed"?
How utterly pathetic. How many on the left even care about Bush anymore?
He might as well call the segment "Beat a Dead Horse". Does he really think this will boost ratings? You can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink - especially if it's dead. We're losing to these libtards?
What do you think is more scary?
Being stuck in a room with Nancy Grace fans?
or
Being stuck in a room with Keith Olbermann fans?
BTW: Keith is in Tampa, is Katy 'home alone'? Just asking.
Worse Person tonight: Hannity, Limbaugh, Malkin, trifecta for worse!
Keith was helping Robert B. Reich cover his ass. Keith, you forgot to include Savage, I heard it on his show.
The clip was Robert B. saying that whatever baleout money should not just be going to 'White' construction people.
I'd get into it but olbermoron probably never even heard the clip, he just reads whatever was put in front of him.
Which was ripped from Robert B.'s blog.
But I did chuckle how chunky boy said someone in Obama administration finally STRUCK BACK! Wow! I'm scared.
Keith lied just by referring to his program as a "news show"
I got 'Phil Hendrie's' show on the radio right now.
He's calling Olby, Aldolf Olbermann.
too funny!
Check this out over at news Busters:
"Olbermann Suggests Gitmo Inspired Innocent Ex-Detainee to Become Al-Qaeda Leader"

He still has the ability to shock me. Whenever I think he could never sink lower, which these days seems to be daily, he manages to burrow his slug self even deeper in the slime.
"Henchman-Gate?"

###
Sure. Right. Poor, attention-needy Keith Olbermann has a reason in his mind his name never publically passed the lips of President Bush......President Bush did not have the guts.
So, let me get this straight. Keith Olbermann believes that George Bush was too scared to call out his unhinged critics so he instructed Cheney and McCain to act as his henchmen?
This was supposedly the most vile, fascist and dangerous administration in our lifetime. Yet Bush was actually a coward and wimp?
Oh my....this is starting to resemble dime-novel fiction. The church of SNOBamessiah is continuing the plummet into the irrational and silly.
Wake up wingnuts. Bush did not participate in such silliness because he (1) respected his given office, (2) never cared about the baseless/self-serving partisans' opinions of him, (3) simply argued on POLICY, not with personal attacks, (4) was a very busy man and cared not to waste his time with hacks like Olbermann.
It is obvious that President Obama is actually using Limbaugh strategically, although I disagree with such tactics because this is about policy/ideology and not personal attacks. He is trying to protect his left flank, so this is red meat for such supporters AND he is trying to marginalize those on his right to make himself appear moderate and reasonable. How Machiavellian!
Chicago taught Obama well. But, I do not think it will work well in the long run and also it diminishes the office. He can only invoke "Limbaugh" or "Hannity" so often until it seems like he makes this about the people and not the issues. Also, his promise to be about unity does not fit with such divisive dismissal of a very large portion of the political universe.
He has not been President for a week and already he is using such drastic tactics.
I am not surprised.
VERO POSSUMUS!
The psychiatrist that Keith sees
Calls it Bush Derangement Disease
The symptoms are hate
No skill in debate
With Obama they'll have ashy knees
Shouldn't Bush and Cheney get a restraining order out on this poo flinging chimp?
My all-time favorite mag, might just make worst person tonight!

Grammie,
Every few weeks I muster up the fortitude to sample Olby's show to see whether or not he has been able to shake his demons and overcome his fraudulent rantings of the past.
Last night was one of those evenings. In typical fashion, I found myself zipping forward whenever clumsy cliches, BDS, and Rule #1 (whatever a Republican does, it's a bad move) became lazy fare. But it was at the moment that he floated the notion that Bush made an innocent Gitmo detainee an Al Qaeda operative, that I had to stop the madness.
His ratings are tanking. And with good reason. His ratings grew last year thanks in part to the longest partisan presidential campaign season ever, but also just because of morbid internet curiosity (stress on "MORBID"). As they say, though, "The jig is up." What can you expect when your only audience is from the fringe left kooks?
I try to be fair (to a fault) so I took Olby's antics with stride for a couple years. For me though, I became convinced he was just a Fraud when after The One voted in favor of telecommunications immunity, there came nary a criticism from The Goon, just weeks after screaming that Bush-Cheney were FASCISTS for advocating the same!
How embarrassing for the peacock. Unless - that is - they really have no more shame.

Lucas, I literally can't watch or listen to him for more then a minute or two. I think it is b/c whatever time I have left I'm not going to subject myself to that nasty little twerp.
So, I go to the transripts. I can, just barely, manage to read the whole show.
A new Rasmussen poll shows 44% of Democratic voters (that were polled) believe the Bush Administration is guilty of war crimes.
http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/general_politics2/44_of_democrats_say_bush_team_guilty_of_war_crimes
I'll just bet that this poll will make tonight's Hour of Spin.
Imagine, Carl Bernstein schooling Maddow and Olbermann about being perhaps a bit too paranoid/Bush Deranged. Behold:
http://tinyurl.com/bb32ef
Also, God forbid you end up on the wrong end of Olbys ire and your name is Richard. " ...Dick..", he called him, with all the maturity of mouth breathing 12 year old.
MSNBC pays the huge bucks for that crappolla.
Betcha Olby mentions the Rasmussen War Crimes poll, but leaves out the part about 54% of all Americans not believing Bush guilty of War Crimes, and 70% not wanting to push forward with prosecution.
Olby loves Obama, but does he realize that most people who voted for Obama see in him a vision of hope for the future. For Olby to continually harp on Bush (Still Bushed, War Crimes, etc.) is just reminding many of these people of a president they are trying to forget. No wonder they are tuning out Olbermann in droves. He fosters nothing but negativity in an era of a new president who is promising positive change.
And he's still ending his show with the Yada Yada days since declaration of Mission Accomplished.
He dosn't know when to let go.
Hey, everone!
So glad you guys are so concerned for Keith's welfare. You keep mentioning the "low ratings" so I guess his boss Phil Collins gave him that $4 million+ raise out of sympathy. Which is really nice. Who said there is no gratitude in this business?
BTW, someone asked if us leftys are still interested in bashing Bush. (And Rove. And Cheny. And Rumsfeld. And Sarah Palin) Hell, yes. Lookin' forward to it. Really like to see them have their days in court.

I inadvertently left multiple postings. YOU, however, KNOWING did multiple postings. (You don't think I wouldn't have figured it out without your... messages?)
BUT TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION: "Did you post this stupid comment multiple times because you are an asshole, or because you are a dumb asshole?"
I think people are smart enough to figure out on their own WHO is WHAT.
Looking forward to annoying you in the future.

Mike C-
Actually, I timed it. Took three minutes. But now I know, I will be patient. Thanks for your tip!
