He, he, he.....Bush haters Keith Olbermann & Maragret Carlson were WRONG on the circumstances surrounding former Prime Minister Howard's staying at Blair House.....Ms. Carlson speculated that the administration rushed the invite to cover their refusal....oh well, she's lying.....
"It turns out that John Howard, former prime minister of Australia and a longtime ally of President Bush, is spending the night there on Jan. 12, according to Sally McDonough, a spokeswoman for Laura Bush.
"The next day, Mr. Howard is receiving the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Several receptions are also scheduled at Blair House over the next week.
"Mr. Bush is also bestowing the Medal of Freedom on Tony Blair, the former British prime minister, and Alvaro Uribe, the president of Colombia. Ms. McDonough told The Washington Post, which first reported the news, that the Bushes had also invited Mr. Blair and Mr. Uribe to stay at Blair House but that they had declined.
"It is not clear how long Mr. Howard will be staying there or whether he — or the White House — knew that he would be bumping Mr. Obama. The White House announced just yesterday that it had selected Mr. Howard and the others to receive the award, but such ceremonies are planned long before they are announced."
"'Like many White House and Blair House events, planning occurs months in advance,' Ms. McDonough said. The medal ceremony is to take place in the White House.
"The Obamas announced in late November that they were sending their girls to Sidwell Friends School, where classes resumed Monday.
"The family is scheduled to move into Blair House on Jan. 15, five days before they move into the White House, in keeping with tradition for a president-elect. But they had asked to move in early because of the start of school and because they were moving to Washington from Chicago, they had nowhere to stay.
"It was reported Dec. 12 that the White House told the Obamas that Blair House was 'unavailable' until Jan. 15 but did not offer a public explanation. 'We explored the idea so that the girls could start school on schedule,' a White House spokesman told The New York Times at the time. 'But there were previously scheduled events and guests that couldn't be displaced.'"

So people who are correctly informed know that plans for such White House events are done MONTHS in advance and that Blair House was being correctly used to host a former Prime Minister as he is being honored with many others by our country. Olbermann watchers are simply fed hate and misinformation to further the church of SNOBamessiah propaganda.
VERO POSSUMUS!
I only watched a little bit, enough to tune in to Man on Fan Olbermann explain the law to the senate on the whole Burris issue.
With webpage at hand and on the screen, Olbermann explained how the form Burris submitted was only RECOMMENED and not REQUIRED.
I didn't tune in long enough to see where else he pitted the blame. But since Dems who rejected Burris later in the day said he should've been accepted makes it the #5 non-story of the day. Since Olbermann didn't mention that Obama himself thinks anyone Blagojevich appoints would have credibilty issues.
But that's not why he was rejected at all on Olbyplanet. It all about the form. Not even president yet and Olbermann is already trying to steer him from any contraversy's.
Meanwhile on BOR, they didn't really hammer the form like KO did, or read the law from Senate Committees website. Because unlike Meltdown they know the real reason is because of Blagojevich. Not Burris.
Yes there is drama on the dem's. But you won't get that news, or any other form of news, from Bathtub Boy.
The key to how all of the democrats are reacting to the Blagojevich scandal is all about isolating him and keeping the media and public focused on the idea that it is an isolated incident. This is not true. Even in the case of Obama, this type of activity is rampant throught-out the left's poltical ruling class and continues in earnest.
Funds Tie Obama to Richardson Probe Figure - http://abcnews.go.com/print?id=6586275
Even this past Presidential campaign shows that Obama is just as tainted and into "pay-for-play," as his Democrat Party fathers. Now we are learning that the same pay-for-play participants in the Governor Richardson scandal gave to the DNC and Obama himself in September. Obama won the election partly because of huge fundraising that involved the old players on the left, and remember he broke his promise to take public financing and its limits if his opponent did so.....McCain was the honorable one on that issue, but zealots of the church of SNOBamessiah overlook that cynical political move.....like MikeH says, "pragmatic."
VERO POSSUMUS
Australia has been one of our strongest allies in the War on Terror and is, therefore, our troops' strongest allies.
My guess is that Goebells-Olbermann- who has a strong contempt for our soldiers killing terrorists across the world- is pissed off about PM Howard visit to the Blair House since Howard was the CinC of our battlefield ally, Australia.
Ok, that's a long stretch, but the Minister of Propaganda would use something just as thin to attack anyone he opposes.
WPITW
Worse: Some guy who opposed a lawyer appointed by Obama to serve in the justice department, on the grounds that lawyer once represented Michael Schiavo in trying to have his wife's feeding tube removed. Here KO demonstrates the great tautological fallcy of letting ideology drive you. KO names this person to the WPITW list because he opposed someone for taking the "morally correct and appropriate" stance on the Schiavo issue. But KO says it as if he thinks this guy opposing the lawyer also thinks helping Michael Schiavo is morally correct, and thus purposefully decided to ignore morals and support Terri Schiavo, the brain dead woman they basically let starve to death over a period of two weeks after removing the tube. Here, KO truly demonstrates how close-minded and vindictive he is. For he can't possibly conceive of a person who would honestly think supporting Terri Schiavo would have been a good thing. I guess KO must hate Terri's parents, who also wanted to keep her alive. Nope, KO isn't picking on this guy cuz he thinks he's just wrong. KO honestly believes the guy is evil. Simply for having different moral and political philosophies.
Keith also claims the Schiavo situation, and congress' intervention in it, helped bring about the downfall of Bill Frist and Tom Delay. Well, Post Hoc Ergo Propter Hoc, KO. Didn't they leave congress as a result of other issues that had nothing to do with the Schiavo case AT ALL? Revisionist history at its worst.
It gets interesting for Worser, as he names Rush Limbaugh for misrepresenting a Wall Street Journal piece about the rigged Minnesota election. KO refers to a Limbaugh diatribe about Franken stealing the election, in which he refers to a WSJ "story" about the recount. Except, KO says, the WSJ didn't write a story, its "rabid fire-breathing lunatic fringe of an editorial page wrote a screed." KO says Limbaugh wasn't the only commentator to distort this, just the foremost. What's interesting is that KO's archnemesis, Bill O'Reilly, also quoted the WSJ piece on Monday. Yet KO passes up the golden chance to attack him, instead focusing on Limbaugh. Yet no mention of O'Reilly. Very strange. There is a sort of sneer dismissal when he proclaims Limbaugh the foremost commentator of the bunch, as if winking to the audience that he no longer considers O'Reilly worthy of a mention. I wonder if KO has made a New Year's Resolution to tone down his irrational attacks on Fox News (or if his bosses told him to shut the f**k up about it). For this marks two days in a row with no Fox mentions in WPITW.
At Worst, KO finally lives out the fantasies of his wet dreams, naming Sarah Palin WPITW. His reason? Levi Johnston, Bristol's baby daddy, quit his apprenticeship in the oil fields after a columnist suggestions that the governor helped bend the rules that required applicants have a high school diploma, though Johnston dropped out of school. Or the first dude, who works that oil field. KO says he's apt to believe their denials, except he doesn't really care because Palin is just too much fun to him. Kind of like Batman to his Joker, I guess. Except KO is closer to a crazy loon petty thug who fancies himself the next Joker, but is really just another Bob the Goon.
Speaking of fancying being the next version of something, we all know Olby idolizes Edward R. Murrow. Presumably one reason is because the brave Murrow stood up to Joe McCarthy for accusing people, including a pal of Murrow's, of being communists. In that same vein, Olbermann sees himself as the brave crusader taking on the evil Bush administration for torturing innocent muslims.
Except, declassified Russian documents show most of the people Murrow were defending, including his close pals, were honest to goodness communists who were in deep with espionage on behalf of the Soviet Union. So Murrow helped open the floodgates for the enemies of the USA. When did the Rosenberg's get caught leaking the H-Bomb, thus kicking off the arms race?
Exactly what will Olby have to accomplish to equal those glorious feats?
Also notable: Olbermann rips on Palin as the bottomless pit of scandals or something, which makes her such a gift to him. But has he ever named Rod Blagojevich WPITW? Maybe for his cynical appointment of Roland Burris to the senate to create a power struggle with Harry Reid, thus distracting the country from Blago's wrongdoings?
Adding on to the WPITW point, Delay resigned after campaign financing irregularities, and Frist's term expired and he had promised not to run again after two terms.

A down the line ideological ripping and reading for Keith "Rip 'n Read" Olbermann.
What happened to the O'Reilly attacks?
Yep, a new father trying to make a better life for himself and his family (with no evidence that his future mother-in-law was involved in getting him favorable treatment) deserves a national cable news host's attention....
What does this prove (once again)?.....
Olbermann is a hate-filled partisan hack.
Ratings report for Monday's show:
New Year, same result. Olbermann creamed in the ratings:
8PM - P2+ (25-54) (35-64)
The O’Reilly Factor —2,915,000 viewers (598,000) (1,157,000)
Campbell Brown—902,000 viewers (257,000) (429,000)
Countdown w/Keith Olbermann —1,328,000 viewers (444,000) (771,000)
Nancy Grace –1,410,000 viewers (506,000) (832,000)
Wow, Nancy Grace is still beating Keith Goebells-Olbermann even though she doesn't have no new murdered white girl or baby. Looks like the Minister of Propaganda is finally starting his descent in oblivion.
How soon before Campbell Brown overtakes him? January 21?
Olbermann may have creamed, but when it comes to ratings, he usually GETS creamed. ( We know that's what you meant, America4700). I found it hilarious that Bathtub Boy chewed out Fineman for saying 'Welinsky'!
Stewart echoed the comments about Blair House, saying Bush was being "dickish." I wonder if it's more or less dickish than the Clinton people trashing the White House and grabbing anything that wasn't nailed down on their way out?

Wasn't Stewart once castigating cable news shows for lowering the level of political discourse? :D
