We bring you these installments of John Gibson's Blue Blogapalooza because they are a window into the character of the "news sources" used by the infamous, deplorable Keith Olbermann. The netroots are in an uproar about Dick Cheney, and sure enough, Herr Oralmann is doing a Special Education Komment tonight on...Dick Cheney! Dutifully pre-pimped on Keith's blog, of course. So listen to the ravings of the blue blogs, then use this thread to recap tonight's ultra-excruciating edition of The Hour of Spin. Comments are open!
pre-comments based on Keith's Daily Kos post:
"When (Cheney told Politico)we get people who are more concerned about reading the rights to an Al Qaeda terrorist than they are with protecting the United States against people who are absolutely committed to do anything they can to kill Americans, then I worry."
More concerned, Mr. Cheney?
What delusion of grandeur makes you think you have the right to say anything like that?"
Oh, I don't know, Keith. Maybe THE FIRST AMENDMENT.
"Because a president, or an ordinary American, demands that we act as Americans"
Implementing socialism isn't exactly acting as Americans.
"demands that we play by our rules -- that we preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States -- you believe we have chosen the one and not the other?"
Key word ... PROTECT. Can't protect it if you are willing to let the body it creates be destroyed.
Also, is this going to be another KO delusional prosecution on torture without any actual evidence?
"And now let's all help him off the stage. Quickly."
We'd be willing to let you, Keith, escort him off the stage personally, as long as you promise to stay away too.
Douchebag
why do the youtubes only appear part of the time from iPhone? Sometimes I see a gray box with slash threw play button..
This video is playing with frequent pauses. I recommend downloading then playing.
Keith is trying to pull himself out of the third place toliet. How does it feel to be looking up a Nacy Grace again Keith?
FNC broke into "The Factor" for the President's speech at the Dem retreat. Has the same happened on MSNBC? Either way, I'm p'd. I never like any show I watch to be pre-empted at any time. But it happened tonight. So, now I have to wait until 11:00 to see the rest of the damn show. President Obama continues a half-century tradition of delivering speeches or holding news conferences that force networks to pre-empt their programming. Jeff Foxworthy has a joke about this in his stand-up routine: "Oh, no! The President is on! We're gonna miss 'Flipper'!" Or something like that.
By the way, I have my TV muted right now. But when I'm not looking at my computer to type, I'm seeing the usual red meat speech gestures and body movements.
And Presidents don't deliver "bada bing, bada boom, I'm done" speeches. They deliver half-hour-long speeches...AT LEAST!
WOW. MSNBC is only cabler not to cut into regular program for Obama. How arrogant is Olbs? Not even Obama will preempt his SpesulKosment
The rest of Impact Segment, gone. Personal Story segment, gone. Kelly File, gone. Reality Check, you're next.
WOW. MSNBC is only cabler not to cut into regular program for Obama. How arrogant is Olbs? Not even Obama will preempt his SpesulKosment
Obviously, MSNBC thinks Olbermann and his performance are far more important than the live cut-away to the Presidents rip-snorting defense of the the stimulous legislation. BillO is in the WPITW spotlight, after all.
Cheer up Mike. They may have The Factor tivo on pause and maybe they'll pick up where they left off.
Nope. P&P, Viewer Mail, the end. It'd better re-air at 11:00 from start to finish.
Dan what was the latest O'Reilly Attack about?
So there is no doubt about it now, Olbermann has clearly stated Cheney has caused more harm than the 9-11 attacks. Honest to God, the only way this guy still has a job is because so few watch his show or have heard of him that nobody cares enough to complain (on a large scale, like what happens to Limbaugh). I guess that's good in the end, but my god this man is vile. I'd imagine his guest list will continue to dwindle after tonight. Wolfman and Alter might be all that's left.
Where is Keith the enemy of "fear mongering". All I heard out of Dur Fur Obama was pass my stimulas or America will fall into the pit of hell.
It just occurred to me that nobody is happier that Pres. Obama's speech pre-empted "The Factor" for a half hour than Russell Tice. His ambush was set to air in primetime in the Reality Check segment. Instead, fringe time (or late night) is where it'll debut.
Wow, I just looked at Keith's numbers last night. He lost to Nacy Grace by almost double. He lost to his son Maddow also.
Why does it matter of Obama interupts Olbermann? They're saying the same things anyway.
Olby's show had a guest host the last two nights, so the ratings don't mean much.
But The Factor's rerun ratings are usually as good as or better than the live Countdown number.
Is Olbermann a 12 yr old? Last week he made fun of Rep. Boehner(sp) because it reads like "boner" and now he calls Cheney "dick" not once, but twice. He specifically called attn to this in his dailykos pregame report as well. I have no problem if Olby wants to be classless (there's go debate, this is classless) but surely he can think of something better than 4th grade recess humor. Olbermann is such a dork. I can just see him blogging away with his one finger style typing(see 60 minutes interview) on Kos giggling to himself as Butthead and Wolfe as Beavis... dick, hehe huh huh huh you said dick. Hey hey butthead, is that guy named boner? Yeah yeah hehe huhuh
Hey there Johnny$ do you think you could embed the Gibson BlueBlog vid over at J$p? I can watch them there. Here I just have a gray YouTube box w/ a slash through it
Via the Countdown webpage, in WPitW, Worst was Rep. Pete Sessions (evil R-Texas). Blue blog source: Think Propaganda. http://thinkprogress.org/2009/02/05/sessions-gop-insurgency/
The Sessions image used for Worst was ripped directly from TP. That's why we call him Keith "Rip 'n Read" Olbermann.
The O'Reilly Attack was Worse.
Before that, #3: Keith embellishes his supposed meeting with Capt. Chesley Sullenberger at the Super Bowl. Really, Bathman? Really?
#5: Stimulus. Howard Fineman and E.J. Dionne take turns playing patty cake.
#4: Ashley Judd courageously--I didn't watch any videos, but I'm sure that was Oralmann's mindset--takes on Sarah Palin. Clarence Page, who thinks the Fox News Channel is far-right [Ding!], joined in the Palin-bashing/Judd-praising.
#1: The Special Education Komment that wasn't dare going to be stopped by a policy speech by Pres. Obama. No, the former Vice President must be destroyed...DICK! Besides the anatomical implications, SD Olbermann likely used the same theatrical indignation and faux outrage reserved for his Komments.
It's not where it's embedded that's the problem. It's youtube and whether it's letting you see a mobile version of the file. So embedding it elsewhere wouldn't help. Your best bet would be to watch it on a real computer, or try the direct url on your mobile:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iZD2oDH-H-c
Thanks j$. Looks like I'll have to comp it. What are the seArch terms: Gibson, christine, angry, blue blog etc?
Search terms? I just gave you the direct UrL.
Yeah I get to correct Mike C for once!!
#4 wasn't about Judd taking on Palin. It was Palin ATTACKING Judd, get the spin right. The lies came fast and furious as KO reminded his audience how they "try" to send Palin to obscurity, but the GOP keeps reminded HIM personally on how she's the face of the Republican party. Lastly but not least it ended with a slam at Alaska as he commented on how Sarah signed the SarahPact "With an Alaska Heart, Sarah" which lead the comendian to ask " An Alaska Heart, you mean cold and desolate?" Hardy-har-har please tip your waiter.
I caught the end of #5 where KO loves to get history wrong to the point where it doesn't make sense. How so. KO brings up how the GOP is saying FDR's New Deal Failed and he follows up on how it didn't. Unemployment went from 25% in 1932 to 10% in 1937. The proof is there.
But his guest bobblehead said " Well its true we never got out of the depression till the war, but the 10% in 1937 was due to a 2nd recession because FDR listened to conservatives and DECREASED spending."
So the New Deal worked, but it had setbacks because of conservatives who wanted to cut spending, but we ended up getting out of the depression because of the War. Sounds like the New Deal didn't work and the war did doesn't it.
Lastly I got enough of KO's emphasis of the word DICK being thrown out there like candy I had to switch it off. But before I did he made the claim that DICK's policy's lead to the worst attack on American soil. Yes he went there.
So if KO wants to play that game it can go both ways. FDR should've been prosecuted for his policy decisions that lead to Pearl Harbor. His policy's being the war in Europe wasn't our concern, and therefore didn't become our concern until we were attacked.
FDR had prior knowledge of the Japanese taking control of the Pacific leading to the attack of Pearl Harbor but he did nothing and his actions costed American lives and threw us into a war we did not want.
FDR...worst...person in the woooooorld.
Sorry, Lafinman. Like I said, I didn't watch the video.
And that's a sincere apology.
Yeah I was just having fun with yeah I wasn't being serious, but now I know why you hit the transcripts. He's getting REALLY hard to listen to. He was so childish emphasising Dick's name that I couldn't last past #4.
I think I'm going to follow your lead and read them as well since my eyes can only roll so much before my head hurts.
Also I saw the Tice Ambush on the rerun of BOR. It was pretty much like his Countdown performance as in no leads, no proof, and no names except Bush. Plus he dropped an F-Bomb. They added more fuel to fire saying they're concerned about this and want Tice on to explain his case since The Factor doesn't want to be watched by the government. Ok maybe that was a spin, but KO shoudl take notes on that's how you properly spin stuff outside of name calling.
I watched KO's "special comment". Kind of a rehash of his Prop-8 speech a few months ago. I think KO needs to take his own advice and leave already. It was pathetic and very sad to see KO trying told back the crocodile tears in his "patriotic" plea for Cheney to exit after all the "alleged" horror that he inflicted on this country the past eight years.
DUH Mr. "I don't vote". If it wasn't for Bush/Cheney, and their swift, agressive tactics after 9/11 (which they didn't cause dumbass) who knows how many times we would've been attacked. But no, you don't care KO, you are so hellbent on preserving what is left of your pasty, white, bloated ass that you can't see what a buffoon you've turned into.
The fact that people use to enjoy watching you on SportsCenter, many moons ago, now must sit back and laugh at what you have become sir. To quote you, it's "HORRIBLE...HORRIBLE."
I went back to read the transcript of bathtub boys Komment tonight. I think this sums it up on him.
"You, Olbermann, you terrified more Americans than did any terrorist in the last seven years, and now it is time for you to desist, or to be made to desist. With damnable words like these, Sir, you help no American, you protect no American, you serve no American — you only aid and abet those who would destroy this nation from within or without."
Oh...by the way KO, try next time to get Cromwell's quote exacty and not add a word as you did.
(your quote)
"You have sat too long for any good you have been doing lately," he told them — exactly as, Mr. Cheney, exactly as a nation now tells you: "Depart, I say, and let us have done with you.
"In the name of God… go!"
(Cromwell's)
“You have sat too long for any good you have been doing. Depart, I say, and let us have done with you. In the name of God, go!”
hmm...I don't think ole Oliver ever said "lately" huh KO?
In the name of O'Reilly....GO AWAY KEITH!. And take K.D. Maddow with you.
Oh so he did blame them for 9/11 in the Shpecial Komment. lol
While Olbermann screams about Cheney to his puny audience, real damage to our national security has occurred....
The USS Cole terrorist is about to see the charges against him be dropped as the Obama administraion continues the unecessary and ill-advised shutting down of GITMO and the fine legal system set-up by the great professionals of our military and government.
What a statement of weakness and partisanship.....President Obama has decided that PR is more important than our national security.
The blood is on his hands and Cheney is right to point out that any terrorist attack on our country will be the fault of this new administration and the change in priorities it has decided to implement.
All this while Iraq holds free and successful elections, where all people, men, women, Muslim, Christian, Sunni, Shia, Kurd, participate....The democrats, including Obama, would have been happy not to see such freedom occur and abandon these millions to the Al Queda and Iranian backed terrorists who threatened the peace back in 2004.....
Freedom, security....nah....not important.....image, PR, personal power and partisan politics is all that matters in the church of SNOBamessiah!
VERO POSSUMUS!
Another aspect of my post above is well presented in Peggy Noonan's column today.....
"On Wednesday, in an interview with Politico, Dick Cheney warned of the possible deaths of 'perhaps hundreds of thousands' of Americans in a terror attack using nuclear or biological weapons. 'I think there is a high probability of such an attempt,' he said.
"When the interview broke and was read on the air, I was in a room off a television studio. For a moment everything went silent, and then a makeup woman said to a guest, 'I don't see how anyone can think that's not true.'
"I told her I'm certain it is true. And it didn't seem to me any of the half dozen others there found the content of Cheney's message surprising. They got a grim or preoccupied look.
"The question for the Obama administration: Do they think Mr. Cheney is essentially correct, that bad men are coming with evil and deadly intent, but that America can afford to, must for moral reasons, change its stance regarding interrogation and detention of terrorists? Or, deep down, do the president and those around him think Mr. Cheney is wrong, that people who make such warnings are hyping the threat for political purposes? And, therefore, that interrogation techniques, etc., can of course be relaxed? I don't know the precise answer to this question. Do they know exactly what they think? Or are they reading raw threat files each day trying to figure out what they think?"

So....is Cheney wrong in pointing out reality and having the opinion that the policies being implemented by Obama will lead to a less secure nation? I don't think so. Cheney's words cannot kill.....only the policies of an administration more concerned about public relations and bowing to the radical left of our country can cause real harm to body and soul.
What is Obama's actions REALLY saying? He is basically saying that the professionals, the lawyers, judges, guards and staff, HIS FELLOW AMERICANS, down at GITMO are not capable of administering justice to the terrorists who contributed to the murder of innocents!
I disagree.
So Dick Cheney is fearmongering but Obamanation is not when he says that our economy will fall apart unless we spend trillions of dollars to thank acorn, the unions, the abortion lobby, and every other left wing hate group that help get him elected. Keith take your own advice and leave the country.
That's "phony crocodile opportunistic tears," meerkat.
Ah, more news about our national security and the struggle to protect freedom from terrorism....
"Responding to a request by President Barack Obama, top military and diplomatic advisers on Iraq have submitted a report to the White House that spells out the risks of drawing down U.S. forces in Iraq over periods as long as 23 months, two defense officials told McClatchy.
"The multiple options are the first indication that the Obama administration may be willing to abandon a campaign promise of a 16-month withdrawal."
http://www.mcclatchydc.com/251/story/61626.html
###
Remember CANDIDATE Obama's promise, documented on his CAMPAIGN website, that he will, as President, ""immediately begin to remove our troops from Iraq. He will remove one to two combat brigades each month, and have all of our combat brigades out of Iraq within 16 months."
Let us not forget that he was one of the many democrats back in 2006 to believe the war was "lost," that4 Bush should withdraw the troops and leave the Iraqi people to defend themselves against militant terrorists.....
Ah, now?......President Obama is seeing military assessments that MATCH what Bush had been stating all along (and kept intact at personal political cost) in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 and last year....we need to help the Iraqis achieve their security and it will likely take more than an artificial "16 months" some punk candidate sounds good to his radical base.
So President Obama....what now? Are you going to break your promise to withdraw the troops by 16 months?
Where are all the anti-war leftists that used to scream and yell back in 2006? Why is defending Iraq now ok, while back when it was tough they were ready to pull out and leave Al Queda and Iran a victory?
Olbermann? Remember the breathless SPECIAL COMMENTS about losing the war?
The church of SNOBamessiah is now prepared to ignore the broken promises!
Oh well....hypocrites and liars.....our new leaders are starting off well.
VERO POSSUMUS!
Having suffered through last night's Speshul Komment, it dawned on me that Keith never mentioned the events of 9/11. He did reference the Al Qaeda terrorist caught on the bridge with explosives in 1999, but he put it in the context of being "pre Gitmo".
Perhaps he did utter the words "9/11" and someone correct me if he did.
MSNBC is a filthy bordello and Olbermann is their happiest whore.
Well after #5 he mentioned Cheney's policy's lead to the worst terrorist attack, not 9/11 by name, but what else was there?
But you get the purple ? Dan, I couldn't make it past #4. I doubt I could take any more Speshul Komments after his Prop 8 performance. Which made me a lifetime fan of Red Eye.
Happy 2 years Greg.
The transcript for last night is now up. So...
I told you earlier in the thread the Worst in WPitW was Pete Sessions and I gave you the blue blog source. Now, you can see how Rip 'n Read ripped and read on the Hour of Spin, an hour that wasn't going to let breaking Presidential news pre-empt it.
WPitW Tease: After teasing video of some race between Dan Patrick, Jerome Bettis, and himself: "... One of them lost and the other one is still breathing heavily. Speaking of which, ..." He went that route again! "... Billo the Clown's [Ding!] latest extraordinary claim: The “New York Times” can destroy the two-party system by destroying Billo [Ding!]. Seriously."
#3: The Sully embellishment.
"Now, as promised, the full, quote [Ding!], interview with that calm man, Captain Sullenberger from Sunday. Publicity men said the captain wanted to say hello. So he introduced us.
Captain Sullenberger: “I recognized you. Good to know you.”
Me: “good to know you, too. Congratulations to you and your crew.”
Sullenberger: “Thank you. It was a group effort. Thank you for the kind words.”
Me: “what do you think of all this,” meaning the Super Bowl?
Sullenberger: “It's great.”
Me: “I don't want to take up more of your time. It's been a pleasure. Enjoy this.”
Sullenberger: “Thank you.”
[likely laughter from the 4th grade staff.]
You laugh, but he was very nice. I got 25 words out of him."
Anybody believing this?
Now, let's skip ahead to #2: The Media Matters Minute.
Worse was that O'Reilly Attack. Blue blog source: Crooks and Liars. http://crooksandliars.com/david-neiwert/oreilly-nyt-and-soros-are-conspiring
Original source video of T-Points: http://tinyurl.com/bcv5ru
Original source transcript: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,487908,00.html
"The bronze to Bill-O the Clown [Ding!]. Quite the blowup when the “New York Times” mentioned him in passing in an editorial decrying the racism inherent in anti-immigrant politicians and their media toadies like him. Bill-O [Ding!] insists this is all part of a conspiracy [Ding!] to destroy him on the way towards destroy the Republican party." The Ted Baxter voice was likely used here. "Bill-O [Ding!] did not mention Karl Rove‘s often state claim that he would establish a, quote [Ding!], Republican majority, a permanent one. And he used as an example of the elimination of the two party system California, where he says “the Dems control power.” Which is why the last Democratic governor of that state was recalled by the electorate. A Republican has been elected in his place twice. And that state passed the heinous Prop Eight two months ago."
Even C&L has video of the Top Story segment with Ruben Navarrette where our humble correspondent points out that the only reason Arnold Schwarzenegger, the Republican Herr Olbermann referred to, is the Governor is because he's Arnold Schwarzenegger! Oy. I'm not discrediting Gov. Schwarzenegger. I'm just pointing out what Bill pointed out.
Worser was Bernard Goldberg. Blue blog source: Media Matters. http://mediamatters.org/countyfair/200902040027?show=1
Original segment video: http://tinyurl.com/bvtnwm
"Runner up, Bernard Goldberg, enabling Bill-O [Ding!]. He asked Goldberg about the Times editorial, in which he was a one sentence after thought. (likely with Ted Baxter voice): “If you were me and you woke up on a Sunday and read that, how would you have reacted?” Goldberg answered, (likely with gruff impression of Bernie): “well, I probably would have gotten a baseball bat and gone down to the ‘New York Times‘ with it and found the person who wrote the editorial. But that‘s me.”
Well, you said it. That‘s you."
Okay, that was a throw-away, but it had two purposes: 1) portray conservatives as violent vigilantes, and 2) portray guests of O'Reilly as violent vigilantes because Billo [Ding!] is a violent vigilante sexual harasser. I'm casting aspersions on Krazy Keith, but it probably isn't that far from the truth.
Worst was Pete Sessions. I don't care about this, so I'll skip to the end: "... which is when an aide interrupted him and led him away, which was quite a trick, considering that, by then, Sessions had both feet and the better part of one of his legs in his mouth. That would be Mullah Pete Sessions, Congressman, parentheses, T for Taliban, of Texas, today's Worst Person in the World!"
Then, #1: the SEK. Again, skipping to the end: "More than 400 years ago, when a British Parliament attempted to govern after its term had expired, it was dispersed by the actions and the words of Oliver Cromwell.
“You have sat too long for any good you have been doing lately,” he told them—exactly as—Mr. Cheney, exactly as a nation now tells you:
“Depart, I say, and let us have done with you. In the name of God, go!”
Good night and good luck."
There, I saved you several long boobless minutes. (That was a reference to a show whose creator is an OlbyFriend.)

That's "phony crocodile opportunistic tears," meerkat.
I stand corrected. :)
