This is tonight's recappers thread for The Hour of Spin. We need you to document the outrageous lies and vertiginous spin of Krazy Keith. A-Mess-NBC has put impartial newsman Olby in charge of anchoring tonight's press conference. But tonight's Hour of Spin will not air until 10:00 pm. So we need you recappers to stay up late to see if Keith "Man on Fan" Olbermann corrects or apologizes for his two lies perpetrated last Friday. (Don't hold yer breath!) Watch Oralmann if you dare, and do your recapping right here. Comments are open!
Eh. Who needs an Olbermann passive-aggressive apology anyway?
Here's the ratings for Friday, in which Olbermann got doubled up by guest host Laura Ingraham

All the Liberal bloggers are now claiming Fox has a built-in audience of old people who do nothing but watch Fox News, explaining Fox's steady post-election ratings while MSNBC's and CNN's are down.
There are two obvious flaws with this line of reasoning:
1. If the Fox audience is so old, why are their younger-demo numbers for the key shows so good?
2. Are Liberals who tune out of cable news just not interested in staying informed on issues that don't involved having their dogmatic leaders elected?
I guess KO is coming on later due to the fact that the Messiah spoke for an hour. Did see a few minutes of summary reaction to the news conference and KO and Chrissy were both suitably adoring in their reactions to the Great Prince of Hope. Assume the show will be all about the plan to save the economy. Here is an interesting e-mail I received tonight from and expatriate American living in Spain that bears on that plan. It speaks for itself assuming it is accurate. I have no reason to believe it is not.
Subject: Pelosi
Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi's home district includes San Francisco.
Star-Kist Tuna's headquarters are in San Francisco, Pelosi's home district.
Star-Kist is owned by Del Monte Foods and is a major contributor to Pelosi.
Star-Kist is the major employer in American Samoa employing 75% of the Samoan work force.
Paul Pelosi, Nancy's husband, owns $17 million dollars of Star-Kist stock.
In January, 2007 when the minimum wage was increased from $5.15 to $7.25, Pelosi had American Samoa exempted from the increase so Del Monte would not have to pay the higher wage. This would make Del Monte products less expensive than their competition's.
Last week when the huge bailout bill was passed, Pelosi added an earmark to the final bill adding $33 million dollars for an 'economic development credit in American Samoa'.
Pelosi has called the Bush Administration "CORRUPT" ? ?
How do you spell "HYPOCRISY" ?
EVERY AMERICAN SHOULD GET THIS E-MAIL.
For those that watched MSNBC's coverage of the press conference, what happened? And what's happening on "Countdown" now?
Seemed to me that #5 was pretty much devoted to how great His Highness was at getting the message out for his stimulus plan. Wolfeman was on praising Obama and denigrating the idiot Republicans. #4 was basically the story of the Repubs. focusing on being disruptive to the Pres. in his good work. Had a guest on from the Nation who indicated that the Repubs. were like the Taliban. Good at geurilla war and disruption, but bad at governing. To come is the new RNC head indicated as a prime candidate for WPITW.
Let me know if any FNC personalities are in WPitW and for what reason.
Nobody from FNC. The only close reference was the WPITW who wrote an opinion article in "Rupert Murdochs' Wall Street Journal".
WPiW included CIA Head Nominee Penetta(sp). For meeting one of his stooges push a reporter or something
How much must it piss off Keith that the Obamanation wants to have a beer with thought criminal Sean Hannity? If this doesn't earn Hannity a coveted WPITW, I don't know what will.

To quote the movie 300. "The god king betrayed a fatal flaw, hubris" Get him Hannity, your a great American.
Olbermann and Hannity were on good speaking terms very recently. Matthews
Slipped and called Hannity his good buddy today.

I changed my mind on WPITW. I think O'Reilly gets it after I heard him call that evil old witch Helen
That or Bernie saying that a print reporter during the Bush years told him that the press corps will be soft on President Obama because he's like Nelson Mandela. He actually wrote about this in a guest post on January 23 on National Review Online: http://corner.nationalreview.com/post/?q=MTZjNGEwYzcyZTg5ZTdjZWJlNWYzZjFiYzkzNTkzZjQ=
*Did you hear the one about how after Barack Obama became president this week he found out the economy was worse than he thought—so he had to lay off 17 journalists.
The only reason the joke works is because it has an air of believability to it. Just about everybody—and by everybody I mean Republicans and Democrats—know that a lot of the mainstream media rolled over for Obama during the campaign. I suspect reporters want to show that they're not the slobbering clowns a lot of Americans think they are. What better way to show their toughness than to pepper the president with "impertinent" questions when he comes down to their pressroom for a social visit, when all he wanted to do was say hello. But have no fear: the president's honeymoon with the mainstream media isn't even close to being over. As a print reporter who covered the Bush White House told me: When a Republican president takes office reporters think they're self-appointed prosecutors. But no one wants to prosecute Nelson Mandela. And Obama is a lot more like Mandela, to a lot of reporters, than he is to some run-of-the-mill liberal like Dick Durbin. Let's just call Obama's little tiff with the press a lovers' quarrel.*
So, for saying "Obama" and "Nelson Mandela" so close to each other, Bernie will be labeled a racist. This is only if a blue blog "reports" on this. In that case, Keith will bring up apartheid.
Besides the Helen Thomas *lighthearted jest*, BOR may also be attacked for any criticisms of tonight's press conference. How dare he say the President spoke too long, that it was boring, etc. Water carrier! [Ding!] Talking Points! [Ding!] Billo the Clown! [Ding!] Bush! [Ding!]
The Pelosi e-mail is generally considered untrue, if you believe factcheck.org
In some ways I hope it is untrue. Have no love for her or her buddies, but it would be nice to see some of this stuff go away in DC land. Oh well, naivete is heaven.
Bear w/me folks.....I'm a rookie in your cyber-world but, I'm a seasoned veteran at olberwoman watching (and wondering what planet he's from)...I enjoy reading you folks and I'll chime in from time to time when the spirit moves me.
The blue blog sources are in place for that O'Reilly attack.
Either Newsliars...
http://www.newshounds.us/2009/02/10/bill_oreilly_mocks_helen_thomas_says_shes_like_the_wicked_witch_of_the_east.php
...or HuffPo.

Cue theatrical indignation and faux outrage.
Other attacks may come from these sources: http://www.newshounds.us/2009/02/10/bill_oreillys_trivial_analysis_of_obama_press_conference_it_was_boring.php

The Think Propaganda link would make for a double-nomination of BOR and Ari Fleischer.
Well somewhat of a transcript is up, it was just the post news conference jibber-jab with the experts at A-Mess-NBC. I had hard time getting past the introduction which was just Obama stroking.
Man he sucks to watch and now his transcripts are hard to read. I guess he had more Bushed material, but I dare not find any video's.
Keith came in third place last night in total, 25-54, and 35-64.
http://tvbythenumbers.com/2009/02/10/cable-news-ratings-for-monday-february-9/12572
MSNBC's press conference coverage came in third, too.
That Newshounds piece about the "trivial analysis" is the kind of thing that really gets me about people attacking O'Reilly.
They spend a few moments criticizing Bill O'Reilly, and then list all the Factor guests who disagreed with O'Reilly.
I don't get what their beef is. They hate O'Reilly, but the article proves how much The Factor is about a diversity of opinions, not just O'Reilly's.
They are so missing the point about what O'Reilly does. He's just throwing out an opinion and getting a reaction. The wide variety of reactions gives a wide range of viewers something to latch on to.
That's the exact opposite of Olbermann, who is providing a running commentary with guests to reinforce the opinion piece. That isn't news.
Nor do they bother focusing on O'Reilly's stated reasons for why he thought the Obama press conference was boring. Because they disagree with the basic premise, O'Reilly must be wrong.
The blue blogs object to the mere hint of an opposite opinion of their own, and yet they espouse "tolerance." What a joke.
