If nothing else, Thursday night's Hour of Spin will be remembered for the day when the infamous, deplorable Keith Olbermann defined racism. And, not surprisingly, that definition includes Olby himself:
MORE: Olby and Garafalo yuck it up about about how Rush is like Hitler, and Michael Steele is another "self-loathing" black man. Hot Air has the repellent details. Apparently the all-forgiving Oralmann has given Garafalo a pass for appearing on 24. You recall how Krazy Keith launched a jihad against the show for being "right wing propaganda"? It seems there is nothing "Man on Fan" Olbermann won't flip-flop on, as long as he can smear a few more people with personal attacks.
Holy Yikes!! Olby stepped in it again.
I love how you end those with the "dreadfully sorry" sound bite. lol
Greatly produced video. I swear I hear John Gibson groaning in there.
Obviously, another John Sanders production. Bright Blue waffles, oh God.
As I keep seeing the hubris, the lies and the spin, the radical left as embodied by Keith Olbermann is setting themselves up for a huge fall.
High expectations for the purposes and results of the central authority huge spending, taxing of all of our fellow citizens and the implementation of huge programs requiring large impersonal bureaucracies and special interest influence. The same old song from the left.
The same bad results.
Their worry about what the republican party is doing to become a competing alternative to the church of SNOBamessiah is funny to watch. I recall such hubris is 1994 and 2004 from many on the other side of the aisle.
Politicians who place themselves in such positions of total and unquestioned power fall. Prepare for the fall and remember the trite and smug attitude of such like Keith Olbermann.
Footnotes in history.
VERO POSSUMUS!
That was great. Another Great Moment in Olbypocrisy.
I'm confused. I thought the press was supposed to keep the government in check and tell us all about abuses of power and hypocrisy by elected officials, especially in The White House.
I recall many stories about the abuses of The Bush Administration. I also remember how out of touch candidate John McCain was because he could not recall how many houses his family owns....Yet, our new First Lady is living it up along with her social secretary in the snobby upper class coutoire of high fashion and not a peep from the ever vigilant Keith Olbermann!.....
Michelle Obama's high fashion in hard times

Ah, Michelle and her social secretary are being wined and dined by the very same people who decorated bank executive office and Obama yelled.....
Yeppers....the left are hypocrites.....Any news here?
Good work again. You guys miss nothing.
Cee, that was a great link to the Byron York article.
The theme of it could provide enough material for a book. I've already noticed several outrages we were treated to about Repub Presidents, Repub Fiirst Ladies and First Families being aclaimed when Obama and The Holy Family.
I don't think that they should be castigated for a lot, if not virtually all, of it. Of course that was not the case for those Wascally Wepublicans.
I always take blog entries or article comments with a grain of salt (except for those on Olbywatch of course) but you gotta love this one from the end of Byron York's DC Examiner article Cee linked above...
POSTED Feb 27, 2009
HatlessHessian: "Two words that Michelle should tell the rest of you all: WE WON. Deal with it. If they want to spend millions on redecorating the White House to get rid of the Texas redneck trash Bush left and wearing hundreds of thousands of dollars of fashionable clothes, so be it. At least it looks good on Michelle, unlike trailer park trash like Sarah Palin."
Nice find newbie. The poster is entitled to his/her opinion as was Ronald Reagan's supporters were in the 1980's.....
But the left has been relentless in the use of class warfare, and when it become irrelevent to their behavior, it just shows how dishonest their arguments have become.
Nancy Reagan was killed by the leftist ruling and media elite for her "excesses." Now it is a different story.
I would like to meet HatlessHessian and go through the democrat party's story line since last year in regards to John and Cindy McCain's elitism, Sarah Palin's dress budget, etc. All of it was couched in "how dare they," in such hard financial times for the common man.
Not to be a killjoy, but what does this have to do with the video posted at the top?
Sorry MikeC....I watched the entire clip the above was based on and it was essentially Keith Olbermann and Howard Fineman keeping tabs on those bad ol' conservatives at CPAC....It seems COUNTDOWN's previous role in keeping the government checked is no longer in force.
That lead to my posting about the elitism of our new First Family and the lack of coverage...The York article....etc. Sorry for the tanget....I'm done.
No, it's okay. I'm sorry. I didn't know your link was related to the video.
In our 5th story on Countdown tonight. Keith does the ultimate taste test, which is better?
Obama Waffles? or Rosco's Chicken & Waffles?
Keith will chow down on a case of each.
Great post guys! Keith throws a jab, you nail him with a HUGE body blow.
He's Ted Baxter with a "falafel"
He's Mister "Chicken and Waffle"
Hypocrite-in-the-box
Sniffer of jocks
His Nielsen ratings are awful

Correction cee. I think this site's lone olbyloon's own words should be used, you know, to honor his intellectual dishonesty. What Olbermann should be doing on his program, like MikeHee said he was doing when he told Bush to "shut the hell up!", is, uh,... how did MikeHee state it? Oh yeah, "speaking truth to power!" Yeah, that's it!
I guess MikeHee follows his leader, and speaks a selective truth to power only when that power has an (R) next to it. I believe that's called nuance.
Hi all! Even though I've been lurking and reading this site for a few months, this is my first time commenting. While I am a fan of Keith Olbermann, I do not read this site with hate and fire coming out of my ears, like I'm sure many "Olbyloons" do. You guys (and girls) often make very good points that can't be disputed. When Keith Olbermann makes a mistake, I am not afraid to point it out. In fact, I am not at all convinced that it was Chris Matthews who uttered "Oh God" before the Jindal speech.
That being said though, I just do not hear the racism in the Roscoe's Chicken and Waffle comment from Football Night in America last year. Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles is a restaurant chain in Southern California, and yes, it does serve soul food. As we all know, Olbermann made the "Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles at their finest" comment after a big catch by Buffalo Bills receiver, Roscoe Parrish.
I am firmly convinced that Olbermann meant that only as a pun, albeit it's an unfunny pun and a groaner at best, but it was a pun, and was not meant as a racist remark saying that somehow Roscoe Parrish is black and therefore he eats chicken and waffles.
I am beginning to liken this to the cartoon in the New York Post a week or so ago. I forget who made the comment about the NY Post cartoon on here, but it's the exact same situation. If you want to see that cartoon as racist, you're going to see it as racist. Can it be interpreted as such? Absolutely, chimps and monkeys have long been used to represent blacks in a derogatory fashion. Was it originally meant to be racist? No, I believe the cartoonist, that it was meant to depict what he/she felt of the stimulus in that it was so bad that only a monkey could have thought of it. Maybe it's me being naive, but I do not think that however conservative the NY Post may be, that they would intentionally publish a blatantly racist cartoon about President Obama.
The same can go with the Olbermann quote. If you want to hear it as a racist comment about a black man and soul food, then that's how you are going to interpret it and hear it. But was it meant as such? I refuse to believe that that was Olbermann's intention. Could the wording have been different, yes, I think he could have found a way to word it better, but keep in mind, when Olbermann does highlights, he often likes to throw in various puns, with a varying degree of funniness to them, so it is certainly not out of the possibilities that it was just a pun that some people felt was racist because he invoked the name of a restaurant chain that serves soul food that shares it's name with a wide receiver of the Buffalo Bills.
I apologize for starting out on such a negative, but this is something that I feel rather strongly about. And while I am of a liberal political idealogy (I know, I know, I'm shooting myself in the foot by the second, here), I can differentiate politics and the performance of political commentators, such as Olbermann, and even though I do like Olbermann (although not as much as I used to), I can willingly point out his mistakes and bias. I do not intend to constantly start fights that go nowhere, I am not here to offend anyone, but merely to give viewpoints of Keith Olbermann from the perspective of a liberal who used to be an "Olbyloon" as you would say but is beginning to sour on him. I will defend him when I feel he is right or not guilty of what he is being accused of on this site, as in the case of "Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles at their finest", and I will point out and criticize him when he makes mistakes and gaffes, etc. I hope we can enjoy each others company. :-)
Steven R. W.
Steve, if you shot yourself in the foot I didn't hear the gun or feel a thing.
Stick around and join in. The more the merrier.
Now, for the Roscoe Chicken and Waffles thing. I personally agree with you. But I have no sympathy for KO b/c what goes around comes around.
He is not very pure himself. He has a long history of calling AG Gonzales 'house boy' and Chris Wallace, who I learned at the time, a Jew 'chimp' and 'monkey'.
Plus he has a trigger finger when it comes to accusing his opponents of every ism and phobia under the sun.
In short, I enjoy seeing him have to reap what he so casually sows.
and I will point out and criticize him when he makes mistakes and gaffes, etc...Stevenrw
Please don't because I only have about 12 hours to post each night before I go to work.
As I said in the Friday Recappers Thread, welcome aboard, Steven.
Thanks, Mike! I've really enjoyed reading some of your comments in the past.
Don't worry, Wolverine, I'll try to keep it brief, and besides, I don't think I'll be on here every night.
You're welcome, Steven, and thank you.
Don't worry, Wolverine, I'll try to keep it brief, and besides, I don't think I'll be on here every night....rw
My comment was not a condemnation of you enlisting here, but just an observation that if you were being truthful in your statement about reporting on his "mistakes" and "gaffes" that it might take you all day before you are done.
Wolverine, yeah, I understood it, I just meant that he often makes many so I'll try to keep it brief. Sorry if it came out the wrong way. And by all, I mean all that I see. I'm not perfect :-)
The comment thread in that link to Hot Air (see top of post below video) has a few O'Reilly-hating comments mixed in. The worst was this, a response to a commenter that said Bill is "too populist":
http://tinyurl.com/csh38u
"I would have agreed with you re [sic] O'Reilly being a populist a few years ago. Now I think he is nothing more than an eye-popping opportunist who constantly uses the term “the folks” to make people think he actually gives a fat damn. O’Reilly is a [deleted].
Have you ever watched any of O'Reilly's interviews. They are usually a joke. I've never seen so much soft peddling, so much equivocating. Now he's competing with Beck who has a spine and [deleted] and the damn fortitude to ask hard questions which none of the journalistas have done for years. That includes Hannity too (refuses to ask difficult questions) in my opinion."
This is why I stopped going to Hot Air and MichelleMalkin.com. To use a BOR-phrase, that commenter needs to get some fresh air.
Once again Keith proves he is a racist. Keith and the smelly loser on his show say that Michael Steel and all black people who don't stick with "masser" at the big house of the DNC have mental problems. As Andy Levy said, what do you call people who put minority groups in boxes? Racist.
Glad I could be of service and point that out, J$.
Every time he does that he reminds me of the time he said something like "You know they record these things don't you?" referring to "catching" somebody contradicting themselves with a clip from months or years earlier.
