Olbermann Watch, "persecuting" Keith since 2004

    March 17, 2009
    Countdown: Tuesday Recappers Thread

John Gibson wonders when did Keith Olbermann become an authority on tough, hard-hitting interviews? Good question. Listen and enjoy as you prepare for tonight's Hour of Spin. We need you to document Monkeymann's lies and duplicity, so be an Olbermann Watch blogger without all the muss and fuss. Do your recapping right here. Comments are open!

Can you say "tits" on TV? I know the Sen. said really said it, by I didn't know you could use that word before 10 PM. I think it's hillarious, but wow!

Is there a more irony-impaired talking head in the media?

MSNBC is very graphically sophisticated. It is able to make the background blend in with Keith's orange face very well. I'm watching right now and it's more Bush bashing. It reminds me of when I was in college back in the 80's and there would be meetings of anti-nuke people and they would sit around and parrot each and laugh at their lame jokes. All of these interviews on this show are canned and rehearsed. Morkos is going to be on the show. I wonder if Keith will mock that little fag's voice the way he does Rush and Hannity. Now there is a clip of Rachell on Letterman. It looks like a rerun of the Man Show.

Olbermann seemed to be advocating violence against a former president. stay classy Olby! Olby then launches into his Bush will be arrested the next time he travels abroad rant. The absurdity that he even mentions this as a possibility, aside.... does he know that his beloved International Criminal Court at the Hague has tried to get indictments against such notable people as Bill Clinton?

How gay look is this guy from KOS? Geez, he sounds like Jon Lovitz. KO is just slobbering over this guy, and Markos saying about "Keith's big ratings?" I'd like to know where he's from, cause KO is in 3rd place nearly every night. It's clearly now that KO's day are numbered, when you have to bring up basically a "kid" who runs a blog for time on a network show, just goes to show you that his 15 min clock is indeed ticking.

Olby admitted to getting marching orders from Kos Godfather himself. Markos looked like sh!t. You'd think he'd showersnd try to look presentable.

Does Krazy Keith know Bush is gone?
    And he's (MS)NBC's pawn?
    And Cornell A & M
    Doesn't qualify him
    For mowing Mister Cheney's lawn?

So, Markos Moulitsas appearing tonight means that only Bill Moyers, a NYT person, and an MSNBC colleague remain. And Keith has a BOR mini-vacation on his side...unless Laura Ingraham, who's filling in tfor Bill he rest of the week, keeps the 8:00 ratings dominance going.

Ann Coulter can handle a little critisizm. Hell, she thrives on it.
It's too bad Laura Ingraham found it neccesary to chime in and attack Meghan McCain over the issue. I guess if you're not waaaaaay out on the right in Attilla the Hun country, you are a "useful idiot" in her eyes. Should young, more moderate Republicans be run out of the party? I would think they'd want to be a bit more inclusive.
Insiders at Fox News have reported that Ingraham is very difficult to work with. She is a poor sub for O'Reilly. But that's just my humble opinion.

Dan. I agree to a point. I thought Laura screwed up when she mentioned the true but personally insulting "plus size".

For the rest of it I think she and Tammy Bruce last night had her nailed. She got a big dose of fame, exposure whatever and she has been scrounging around for more of it any way she can get it.

    Like father, like daughter.

I am asking a real question here. Is the presence of Markos on the show tonight his way of making peace with the Kos freaks who have justifiably critcized his non-story approach to Cramer/Stewart? See kids. Daddy still likes me.

I can't wait until the next election so we can finally get rid of these asshats Bush and Cheney.

Last night, Olby got a Garofalo bump in the ratings, but it wasn't enough to beat his nemesis.
    http://www.mediabistro.com/tvnewser/ratings/the_scoreboard_monday_march_16_111636.asp

    As for tonight:
#5A: Video title: "AIG outrage just noise [Ding!]?" The Pundit for All Occasions made his weekly appearance.
#5B: Olby and the Perfesser: AIG Edition.

#4: Video title: "Canada blames Bush." Author Jim Moore was on to talk about a speech former President Bush made in Calgary, Alberta today.

Oddball: Ms. Rachel on Letterman, followed by Keith replaying that landmark "Late Show" in September when he filled in for John McCain.

    BPitW: German brothel.

#3: Vendettamann's week-long payback of Bill and Bernie continued with Mr. Screw 'Em himself. They also seemed to deny Ben Smith's Politico story from last Tuesday: http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0309/19846.html
The one brought up here at OlbyWatch a few days ago:
    http://www.olbermannwatch.com/archives/2009/03/olbermanns_manh.php
"To tell the truth, Countdown is the very model of modern pack journalism. As Politico reports blue blogs and partisan left-wing groups coordinate their targets, and Olby seems to have been one of their most reliable marksmen. When their conference call targeted Betsy McCaughey, so did Olbermann. When it's decided to make Rush Limbaugh the "face" of the GOP, Oralmann dutifully starts calling him "Boss" Limbaugh and hammers it home for seven straight days: March 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 9th, 11th, and 12th (he was off on the 10th)."
    So, screw your segment, Keith.

Endlessly Bushed: Torture! [Ding!] Likely blue blog source: Media Matters. http://mediamatters.org/items/200903160015

#2: The Media Matters Minute. Worse was not a media or political figure.

Worser was Sean Hannity. Manatee! [Ding!] Per usual, shots were taken at his intelligence. Blue blog source: NewsTrolls. http://tinyurl.com/c2bgs5
He says the first sentence with a loud voice and raised fist: "By all accounts, Sean! Don't you watch Billo [Ding!]? No need to surrender if we already won." Yes, another reference to the setup to the question to John Flannery in the Top Story segment from the March 6 "O'Reilly Factor." How many times are we gonna go back to this well?

Worst was Rush Limbaugh. Boss Limbaugh! [Ding!] Blue blog source: Media Matters' Limbaugh Wire. http://mediamatters.org/items/200903170012
"Oh, really?" Keith asked before going gotcha on Rush. Gotcha! Grassley's not in the Obama Administration! You've been truth-squaded and schooled and stuff.

#1: Video title: "Coultergeist [Ding!] war continues." The title refers Meghan McCain's Daily Beast column "My beef with Ann Coulter," which led to Laura Ingraham satirically--according to Laura--mimicking Meghan and mentioning her weight, which led to Meghan fighting back on "The View" and invoking Tyra Banks to do so. "Kiss my fat ass!" But since all parties in involved--McCain, Coulter, Ingraham--are Republicans, the supposed non-biased Keith Olbermahn was snide and snarky every step of the way. And to join in on the snidely snarking...Joel McHale! Aaaaand...I'm out.

Since Mr. Turley danced around it, I will answer Keith's question re: Why Gov. cannot break the contracts w/ AIG employees, but at the same time Gov. advocates breaking union contracts as a prerequisite for giving more auto company bailouts... Bonuses are not the root cause of the problem at AIG, whereas, at the auto companies union contract are a root cause of the problem. Moreover, to borrow from recent Democrat party justification for spending, $165 million out of $171 billion is about as insignificant in terms of percentage of the total spending as the billions of dollars in earmarks are to a trillion dollar budget.

This AIG stuff is just an absurd overreaction, but I have to say it's nice to see the democrats on the wrong end of absurd overreaction for once.

Dan, you're right. I can't stand Laura as a fill-in. Nobody says "And" more than her. "And in the Top Story segment," "And in the Impact segment," And this, And that. But it's Bill's choice on who fills in for him and when.
As for what Laura said about Meghan, she tried to clear the air on her website: http://tinyurl.com/d5laj6

"Memo to Meghan McCain: Enjoy the media coverage while it lasts, but know you're being used. You are the flavor of the month in left-wing media land because you are a Republican bashing the GOP. Likewise, your dad is most popular among the same people when he is slamming his Republican brethren in full-blown "maverick" fashion. At least he backs up his views with a lifetime of sacrifice and public service. What is Ms. McCain's own political, business, or real-world experience that lends credibility to her argument that the GOP needs to "moderate" (read: abandon its core principles)?
Now the Left is seizing on one satirical line from our show to paint Meghan as the victim of a right-wing hate crime. This comes from the same playbook responsible for the ongoing demonization of Rush Limbaugh -- where his take on President Obama's economic policies are misrepresented as some kind of attack on America. Their goal is to malign outspoken conservatives (specifically in talk radio) as members of a radical fringe movement whose right to free speech is questionable at best.
The left's indignation in this instance is manufactured and totally phony. If any off-the-cuff remark about a woman's size was condemnable, then where was the outrage when President Obama made a passing reference to Jessica Simpson's "weight battle" during his Super Bowl interview with Matt Lauer? And of course they look the other way when obvious personal attacks are levied against conservatives. Remember when Al Franken was the toast of all media for his book "Rush Limbaugh is a Big Fat Idiot"? Last month The View's Joy Behar called him a "fat guy"; and when I was a guest on The View a few years back she ridiculed Ann Coulter and me as "peroxide" blondes on Fox. I laughed it off. If you can't stand the heat...get out of the punditry business.
Next time, just for fun, Meghan should pretend that she's had a change of heart and is now a pro-life conservative. Then she'll really see how the Mean Girls treatment feels.
Click [below] to listen to the entire segment from March 13th, instead of the version that was edited and sent around by left wing smearmongers."

It originally said "click here." Here is where you can click: http://tinyurl.com/ca9f6m

But here was the discussion on this flap last night in the Culture Warriors segment: http://tinyurl.com/d9xrjm

I listened to the full clip. Laura didn't sound any better.

What a coincidence that Olby attacks redstate website just a day after redstate posts a spoof on olby's special comments

While watching the rerun I think some spittle came right out of my TV and hit one of the dogs. Can I sue him for cruelty to animals? Had never seen Markos before. God. What a freak.

I don't think that was the reason for the appearance, 10th Cavalry. He was on because Bernie Goldberg named him in that list of the five worst offenders on the far-left last Monday on "The O'Reilly Factor." Per Man on Fan's attack last Wednesday, he is using this week to exact revenge by inviting the two people listed (Garofalo, Moyers) and three people representing the organizations listed (Daily Kos, New York Times, MSNBC).
And Grammie, you're right, too. I don't know how to feel about Meghan. I was a devoted follower of her and her blog during the campaign. So, I don't want to be critical of her or insult her, but I'm pretty close. I'll be closer if she ends up not appearing on "The Factor" next week. Her father hates Bill; I don't want to think she does, too, even though she said she's a fan when she was on "Fox & Friends" last Thursday.

    Ok. Thanks Mike.

"stay classy Olby!"- By irishbaby Èirinn gu bràth

stay???? stay???? Doesn't one have to be there in order to be able to stay there?

Thanks a bunch Mike C. for supplying those clips. I hadn't heard either. It reinforced my notion that Ingraham was being mean-spirited and intolerant to young Ms McCain. Funny voice impressions and intolerance. Who does that remind me of? Douchenozzle! of course.
I did learn however that Tammy Bruce is pro-choice. I don't think she'll be invited to Laura Ingraham's tea party's any more.

What a waste the segment with James Moore (who wrote the book "Bush's Brain") was concerning Bush's visit to Canada and future foriegn travels by him.

I thought I heard him and the "Lie-On King" using the word "suspicion" at least 4 times. Nothing like spending 5 minutes of anybody's time talking about "suspicions".....oooohhhh, Keithee's scary when he uses the word "suspicion".

Good catch on the redstate attack, irushbaby. Typical (and very, very predictable) KO tactic.

Retread Fineman, retread Turdley, Bush's Brain guy, Markos/Marcos (OK, OK, OK, I know it's "k" but, doesn't Moulitsas kinda remind you of ol' Imelda after a long, hot, sweaty, shoe-shopping session in the Phillipines?).

    U N effing W A T C H A B L E !

You're welcome, 10th Cavalry and Dan.
Brad Wilmouth at NewsBusters has posted about last night's #1 segment with Janeane Garofalo:
    http://newsbusters.org/blogs/brad-wilmouth/2009/03/17/msnbc-garofalo-paints-conservatives-angry-racists-who-inspire-murder

*On Monday’s Countdown show, MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann hosted left wing actress and comedian Janeane Garofalo to discuss FNC analyst Bernard Goldberg’s recent enumeration of the "five worst offenders" of what Bill O’Reilly called the "far left smear machine,"and Garofalo took the opportunity to paint conservatives as angry racists who inspire violence from some of their non-intellectual followers. Garofalo: "The right wing has a way of always having an enemy, whether it be immigrants or Arabs or brown-skinned people, black-skinned people, homosexuals, women. They all, kind of, rally around an enemy, an other, that they can get mad at. And death does occur."

After accusing conservative activist Grover Norquist of "handing out talking points" to a "right-wing machine," and after mentioning former Vice President Cheney’s recent contention that President Obama’s policies would endanger the nation’s homeland security, Garofalo called the "personality type" that she claimed motivates some non-intellectual conservatives a "scourge" and an "unfortunate part of our society." Garofalo: "A lot of the people in the right-wing base are not the most intellectual people in the world, not the most savvy people in the world, and they are definitely quick to anger, and quick to blame other people. ... it's a very sad, sad thing, and it's part of the human nature of a personality type that tends to identify as Republican or conservative. And it's an unfortunate part of our society. It's a scourge on our society." Olbermann concurred: "It is, indeed."

Olbermann introduced the segment by recounting a segment from the Monday, March 9, The O’Reilly Factor on FNC in which Goldberg designated Garofalo as number five among the "worst offenders" of what O’Reilly called the "far left smear machine," and then blamed Goldberg for a murder spree in Tennessee. Olbermann: "That one of Mr. Goldberg`s last lists inspired a mad man in Tennessee to shoot up a church full of innocent people because he could not shoot the people on Mr. Goldberg`s list did not give Mr. Goldberg pause for thought. Nothing seems to."
After Garofalo spent the first few minutes making lame jokes about her and Olbermann’s participation in such an organization, the conversation took a more serious tone as Olbermann intoned that "there is a dark, dark side" to making of lists of people to castigate. Referring to a remark by O'Reilly that there would be much "payback" for Goldberg in his latest venture, Olbermann proclaimed: "The last time there was payback and Goldberg was involved in it, and making lists of people, people wound up dead. I mean, there is a dark, dark side to stuff like this?"

The MSNBC host apparently saw no irony in his own daily "Worst Person in the World" list in which he designates three nominees for the title – as he often uses the segment to attack conservative public figures – or his many "Special Comment" attacks on President Bush and other conservatives.*

So, *that's* who James Moore is: a Bush-hater that wrote "Bush's Brain [Ding!]."

Olbermann Gets Real Time (Alone) With Maher.

    Any Surprise?

By ObserverDan on March 17, 2009 9:40 PM

Laura Ingraham dated Olby, Dated some 'Torch' guy from New Jersey.

After railing about people getting babies from other countries, didn't she go out and get one her-self?

Say whatever, her show on FNC lasted a month and hasn't been back.
She should be grateful Bill gives her a slot, not being very difficult to work with.

She brings in enough numbers to satisfy her filling in, but! If her numbers ever drop to Campbell Brown's level..........

    Laura Ingraham, Schnozzledouche?

To be fair to Laura--which is hard to do because she can be very annoying--"Just In with Laura Ingraham" was only supposed to be a three-week experiment.

You know sometimes I just like to sit back and enjoy the chaos Bill creates for KO.

Everyone knows he and Bernie did that to pull his strings. And now KO breathes more life into it by having Garofalo back on, she gets nutty ( if not nuttier ) than usual, and than gems like that are posted by Brad that just show how much of hypocrite KO is.

And the kicker is, Bill didn't call KO out name. But clearly Bill knows how it's being played. KO will run ANYTHING Bill does that seems crazy. The crazier the better.

Best part about this is KO doesn't even know he's getting played. Cause all these tactics Bill is using are just there to expose KO's hypocritcy.

Mike I'm with ya, and I've heard that, but.

The show was never picked up. And I think you might have provided the answer.

"She can be very annoying." And that just don't sell for very long. (unless you're Nancy Grace and I don't know how she gets away with it.)

I just thought of something and I'll throw it out. For someone who always reminds us that she goes to church on Sunday.

She enters the building, but does she listen to what is said inside the building or does she care?

Remember Bill Clinton? Always walked out of church on Sunday with a bible. I don't think he listened inside the building.

Call it 'Inside The Beltway' mentality?

I don't think there is any of us who didn't wish Laura well, yet, more and more we are faced with the fact.

    Laura Ingraham, Schnozzledouche?

But if I 'HAD' to watch Laura or Olby? No question.

Laura has issues, but Olby is just a jack-ass!

    >Everyone knows he and Bernie did that to pull his strings.
I didn't know that. I thought it was to expose the worst offenders on the far-left and in the media.

The transcript for last night's Hour of Spin is out.
Opening spiel: "Vast left-wing conspiracy week continues. Number three on the Billo [Ding!]-Goldie [Garofalo-approved slur] ratings of the left-wing menace: “Daily Kos.” Our special guest, its founder, Markos Moulitsas.
And did you know there was a secret e-mail list that Rachel and I and Frank Rich and the “New York Times” and all of the liberals get their working orders from? No, I didn't either.
John McCain's daughter, Meghan, calls out Coultergeist [Ding!]. So, Laura Ingraham dismisses her as a “plus-sized model.” Ms. McCain replies." Clip shown. "Anytime anybody invokes their “inner Tyra Banks,” we turn to our Tyra Banks expert, our guest, Joel McHale from “The Soup.”
Worsts: First, Billo [Ding!] declares Bush beat al Qaeda to win the war on terror. Now, the Mannity [Ding!] says, ... Hey, oatmeal brains—pick one.
And the continuing obsession of David Letterman with my head; new victim." Clip of Rachel on Letterman shown.

In-commercial tease: "We continue to meet the liberal menace week. Markos Moulitsas, the third worst liberal in the country for Bernie and Billo [Ding!], joins us.
And among the true Worst, yes, Billo [Ding!] again and Boss Limbaugh [Ding!] and the Mannity [Ding!], too."

Oddball: "We begin at Ed Sullivan Theater in New York City. Last night, our own Rachel Maddow got her Late Show turn with Dave. She had barely settled into her seat and Mr. Letterman had a pressing issue he needed to discuss - again.
    (BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
LETTERMAN: Here's the deal. I've been watching your television program and it comes right on after the big-headed boy, what's his name?
    (LAUGHTER)
    MADDOW: Keith Olbermann, yes.
LETTERMAN: Keith Olbermann, yes, he has a giant head.
    (LAUGHTER)
    (END VIDEO CLIP)
OLBERMANN: Can't you just let it go? You need to discuss bailouts, bonuses, Obama. Letterman would not let the heady manner rest.
    (BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
LETTERMAN: You've seen him in person. In terms of size, like couch pillow, would you say his head is the size of a couch pillow?
    (LAUGHTER)
    MADDOW: Oh, you mean for—Keith?
LETTERMAN: Yes. More or less? I think so.
MADDOW: I don‘t think of him as outsize, I guess.
LETTERMAN: OK. Get a good look at him.
    (END VIDEO CLIP)
    OLBERMANN: Thank you, Rachel.
David, just a quick reminder, we've been through this, 7 7/8, maybe an eight.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP [of Keith in cutaways in September, following his last-second fill-in for John McCain)
LETTERMAN: Look there he is. Yes, get in there.
    (LAUGHTER)
LETTERMAN: Really, what is it? It's like a 20 or something.
    (END VIDEO CLIP)
OLBERMANN: I wrote that bit, too." Yeah, sure, and I'm Marv Albert.

#3 and #1 tease: "Left-wing smear machine week continues, and another stunning revelation. Apparently, there's a super secret e-mail account that those of us on the left used to organize our smears. I found out about this morning from a right-wing blogger. Markos Moulitsas of the “Daily Kos” joins us.
Meantime on the right, Meghan McCain is invoking her inner Tyra Banks and telling the likes of Laura Ingraham to quote [Ding!], “kiss her fat ass,” unquote."

Highlights from #3: "The problem with a good conspiracy theory is that inevitably somebody blabs. However, as we continue Know Your Top Five Bill-O [Ding!] and Goldie [Ding!] Left Wing Smear Merchants week with our guest Markos Moulitsas, number three, the Daily Kos, there is the surprise in our third story tonight, a left-wing conspiracy so well policed that it includes Rachel Maddow, David Shuster, the “New York Times” and me. And I only found about it this morning from a right-wing blog.
The reality of this, as reported at Politico.com, quote [Ding!], “... online meeting space called JournoList. Proof of a vast liberal media conspiracy? Not at all says Ezra Klein, ....”
Other so-called J-Listers also commented to Politico, characterizing their exchanges in a similar fashion. But from the right wing blog RedState.com and a man named Erick Erickson comes this, ...
Wait, it gets better than this. ... You're told? You're told by what, a voice in your own head? Checked with David and Rach. None of us are on the list. I had never even heard of it until somebody told me about the RedState not. Rachel had not heard about it until I asked her about this afternoon. Now that's a secret left-wing conspiracy. It's so secret the people who are in it don‘t even know they're in it.
Besides which, everybody knows I take my instructions from our next guest, the founder and publisher of DailyKos.com, Markos Moulitsas. Good evening, Markos. Congratulations on being number three on the list.
MARKOS MOULITSAS: Thanks so much. Glad to be here.
OLBERMANN: We'll get to that Bill-O [Ding!] list in a moment. ... So is that the same sort of thinking that—that it must be failed? That there's some trickery involved if the conservatives don't win that got you number three on the O'Reilly/Goldberg list? Or do you actually deserve to be there? And have you already in fact celebrated your success?
MOULITSAS: I always celebrate. I mean I looked for—I looked on as O'Reilly attacked you for years and turned you into this ratings powerhouse on MSNBC, so I thought, I could use a little bit of O'Reilly love. I'm glad that he's actually delivered some of that.
But I think there is a conspiracy and it goes like this: I wake up in morning and I check out Youtube clips of Bill O'Reilly screaming at his audience, and I see Glenn Beck crying on his show.
    OLBERMANN: Yes.
MOULITSAS: And I think—and I go on my blog, and I write, did you catch these idiots last night? And then somebody else—this is very nefarious. Somebody else also sees those clips, and they also write about what a bunch of morons Fox News is featuring that night. And suddenly you have some kind of collusion. It's all very insidious.
OLBERMANN: At no point is the actual shock of the event, these, you know, perpetual repetitions of the Hindenburg disaster that we see. At no point are these credited as being part of this equation. But there is another possibility here, isn't it? That there's an assumption that there is a left-wing conspiracy, ..."
Assumption?! The very same Politico you quoted also had a story that confirmed the left-wing conspiracy.

Back to the Keith and Kos Konspiracy Theories. "But that entire news days were built around this little cheat sheet that a lot—several guys put out. One being John Moody at Fox News. And they all followed it like it was the tablets, with Moses coming down from the mountain.
MOULITSAS: Yes, absolutely. And I don't begrudge them for doing that. They've been very effective for decades by pushing out this conservative message to the masses, by being on message and unified in pushing out that message, across various media, radio, television, the Internet, and so on.
So I totally see this as a case of projection. The fact of the matter is people like me get too much e-mail already. I'm sure you get enough e-mails. Do you really need to be on another list of someone tell you what to think, when we can think for ourselves, thank you very much.
OLBERMANN: Plus, we don't have time to read all of these e-mails that we're getting." Lazy. "The bottom line, people think what, they're vampires, they never sleep. While we have you here, let me ask you about something of substance in the news that has not gotten the attention that it deserves nationally. The latest of the endless series of the Norm Coleman defenses in this litigation against the man who beat him for the Minnesota Senate seat, Al Franken. Jon Cornyn of Texas is now citing Bush v. Gore. What does Bush v. Gore have to do with Coleman v. reality?
MOULITSAS: Well, Bush v. Gore was obviously a partisan hack ruling that was so bad and so unconstitutional that the Supreme Court itself, the majority said, don't ever cite this decision ever again, because they knew it was very poor legal under-pinnings. But it was a hacked partisan decision designed to make sure that their favorite candidate, George Bush, won the presidency.
Now, of course, Republicans are very, very much desperate. They want to hold onto that Minnesota seat. This is going to be seat number 59 for the Democrats. They're doing everything they can. And they are praying for their own hacked partisan rule from the courts. They're not going to get it. It‘s only a matter of time before Al Franken is actually seated and is rightfully called Senator Al Franken.
OLBERMANN: Good thing too." Ouch. "Markos Moulitsas, the founder and publisher of Daily Kos, number three on the list of the top three left wing smear merchants. Thank you and don't forget to send me my email full of marching orders in the morning.
    MOULITSAS: Absolutely. Thanks so much.
OLBERMANN: Meantime, an actual mid figure in the vast right-wing conspiracy, Laura Ingraham, has now inherited the wind. She criticized Meghan McCain, so Miss McCain has gone all Tyra Banks on her butt. First, Bill-O [Ding!] says everybody knows Bush won the war on terror. Now the Manatee [Ding!] says we're surrendering in it. Would guys just pick one delusion and stick to it please? Worst persons ahead."

WPitW: "OLBERMANN: Invoking her inner-Tyra Banks, John McCain's daughter takes down her second female conservative pundit in one week. Joel McHale joins me, if he is done spilling water all over the set.
    JOEL MCHALE, “THE SOUP”: Sorry.
    OLBERMANN: That‘s next, ..."
    Yukkity-yuk-yuk.
"The runner up, the Manatee [Ding!]. Protesting as ever, something he didn't quite hear correctly, or maybe just doesn‘t understand, “if we can‘t use the term war on terror, we can't use the term enemy combatants, it sounds to me like, in many ways, even linguistically, we have literally, you know, surrendered.”
Sean, don't you remember what Bill-O said?"
Part of the setup to the question to John Flannery was shown.
"By all accounts, Sean! Don't you watch Bill-O? No need to surrender if we already won."

The full context beginning with Flannery joined in progress: "... I applaud the Bush administration and Karl Rove for agreeing to finish up this old business of whether or not there was corruption in the Justice Department by allowing Karl Rove to talk…
O'REILLY: All right, but that's a different issue [the U.S. Attorney firings]. I'm not talking about that issue now. We'll deal with that down the road.
    FLANNERY: Well, OK.
O'REILLY: Look, by all accounts, the Bush administration defeated Al Qaeda, all right? Al Qaeda was marginalized, been downgraded as a threat to the world. So we won the terror war. We won the war in Iraq, at great cost no doubt. No doubt. But we won.
*So now these idiots want to go back and they want to find something, fish, throw that line out there, reel in anything they can reel in to embarrass the administration that kept us safe, you safe, your family safe. And it's despicable. And you can't say it's the far right. Most Americans oppose. Only 40 percent of Americans want any kind of this criminal witch hunt business. Sixty percent do not. Come on.*"
60% do not, Keith! Don't you watch full segments? Or do you just rely on blue blogs? Oh, wait.

Back on OlbyPlanet, let's skip ahead in naming Rush Worst. "Really? The senator who invoked the rhetoric of suicide as a good solution at AIG was Charles Grassley, not of the Obama administration, but of the Republican party. And the man who offered this piece of hyperbole: ... That was Mort Kondracke, not of the Obama administration, but of Fixed News [Ding!]. Or how about the guy who said this? ... That was Charles Krauthammer, also not of the Obama administration, but rather of ultra-conservative [Ding!] column infamy. So, Boss Limbaugh [Ding!], when you describe the administration ginning up a lynch mob, the only thing that comes across as ginned up is you. Boss Limbaugh [Ding!], today's worst person in the world!"

Finally, #1, featuring a guy whose show I used to watch before he insinuated that "Fox & Friends" is Republicans trying to be funny and failing at it. Those weren't his exact words, but this joke/attack was made in January 2007. Before that, I watched religiously. Reality Show Clip Time, Chat Stew, Clip of the Week, Lou the Chihuahua, "Chicks, Man." You name it about "The Soup," I loved it. What a fool I was, to quote "Futurama" character Professor Hubert J. Farnsworth.
Anyway, let's do this. "The fight between Meghan McCain and Laura Ingraham has moved from sideshow into popcorn and candy territory, in our number one story on the COUNTDOWN, with choice phrases involving both asses and idiots. Joel McHale, who is neither, is breathlessly waiting to join us. It began when Miss McCain, daughter, of course, of Senator John McCain took on Coulter-geist [Ding!]. Writing at the website DailyBeast.com, McCain said, quote [Ding!], ... And although Coulter-geist did not respond, Ms. Ingraham stepped in, calling McCain, quote [Ding!], .. and referring to her at the end of the day as a, quote [Ding!], ... First, Ms. McCain responded on her blog that gratuitous insults about her weight were unnecessary. Then she appeared on “The View” and quoted[...]Tyra Banks[?!]"
    Clip shown.
"Ms. Ingraham's response, on her blog, characterized Ms. McCain as a, quote [Ding!], “useful idiot.”
Right here, as promised, the host of the pop culture program of record, E exclamation point network's “The Soup,” Joel McHale.
    MCHALE: Yes, the useful idiot.
    OLBERMANN: How are you?
MCHALE: Nice to see you, Keith.
OLBERMANN: Thanks for cleaning this up.
MCHALE: I spilled about a gallon of water here a second ago.
OLBERMANN: Some of the books fell over too. They are fake books. This won't get resolved until we get all three of them in the same room, with Ms. McCain walking in like an ordinary human being, Ann Coulter and Laura Ingraham just sliding into that space between the bottom of the door and the top of the floor.
MCHALE: Yes, if they get in the same room, that means the Ceylon civil war will continue, and that means they'll all be there. And if they're Ceylons, that's like a two, three, and an eight. Meghan being an eight. Other two not as attractive, because I like a little—sorry. Just a little meat on my bones.
OLBERMANN: Well, OK. I‘m—OK. There‘s nothing that I can say about that.
    MCHALE: Sorry, go ahead.
OLBERMANN: -- that will get me into more trouble than I already am on this topic. ... Coulter-Geist [Ding!] has not said anything about this and has been thoroughly ripped and insightfully ripped by the daughter of the last Republican presidential candidate.
MCHALE: I have no idea why that dude is being so quiet." Nice.
"OLBERMANN: I was just thinking also one thing about Laura Ingraham getting involved. I think this is fairly well known, although it's been broadcast before, she once actually volunteered this information that on her death bed, her mother said—her last words from her mother, a very poignant moment in most people's lives, were Laura, why are you so bossy? I'm not making this up. ... Let‘s change topics, quickly. Levi Johnston, the ex-fiancee of Bristol Palin, with this quote [Ding!], ... end quote. Well, that it says all, doesn't it?
MCHALE: Yes, the Palins heard that and they gave him a wolf pelt. They said, we'll give you a 20-minute head start while we fire up the helicopter.
But I like that quote. That's how I sound when I am playing XBox. ...
OLBERMANN: Joel McHale, the host of “The Soup.” Who is on the show this week?
    MCHALE: You are.
    OLBERMANN: Great.
MCHALE: Keith Olbermann on “The Soup” this week, giving legitimacy to the E! Network.
OLBERMANN: I will come over and spill something on you."

Oh, God, no! More like illegitimacy.

Back in sane world, Laura Ingraham will reply to Meghan's words on "The View" tonight when she fills in on "The O'Reilly Factor."
    http://www.foxnews.com/oreilly/index.html
    "Wednesday, March 18:
    • War of Words! The crossfire with Meghan McCain heats up! Laura Ingraham gives her side!"

Finally, please don't expect me to copy and paste and annotate the transcripts every day. It's very time-consuming and takes away from time I could be spending on errands.

I forgot to mention that Flannery referred to the far right [Ding!], which is why Bill said "you can't say it's the far right."

She'll also be responding to all the criticism that's come her way.

Mr. Screw 'Em: "...O'Reilly attacked you for years and turned you into this ratings powerhouse on MSNBC..."
    Really?
    http://www.mediabistro.com/tvnewser/ratings/the_scoreboard_tuesday_march_17_111755.asp
    BOR in 25-54 at 8:00: 792,000
    KO in 25-54 at 8:00: 464,000 (2nd)

BOR in total at 8:00: 3,070,000
KO in total at 8:00: 1,322,000

    BOR in 25-54 at 11:00: 471,000
KO in 25-54 at 10:00: 303,000 (2nd; 193,000 behind Greta; he's been a strong second in the demo at 10:00 this week.)

BOR in total at 11:00: 1,466,000
    KO in total at 10:00: 898,000 (3rd; 18,000 behind Coop for 2nd; Greta 1st)

That's a second-to-third-depending-on-the-category "ratings powerhouse" to you, Kos.

Did anyone hear NBC president Zucker rip Stewart a new one today? Big whoop, and talking about those strong voices in Matthews, Olbermann and Maddow. Yeah right, just hot air Zuck...just hot air.

I have a feeling that when KO does the last person on the list of most feared, which is MSNBC, that's when he's going to drop a "special comment". Maybe that's just me, but that is what I'm feeling.

Of course MSNBC is currently running Obama at townhall meeting. And the koolaid drinking ppl are just swooning over every move this "charlaton" makes. From the cries of "I love you" to the chants of "Obama" it's just flat out horrible. I think Countdown might be delayed tonight due to the Messiah speaking.

Sooooo, I'm guessing obamas TelePrompTer gaffe won't get any play on Countdown.

As for this townhall, even the most partisan hacks have to call a spade a spade. This is hands down obamas worst performance on the public stage. He's stuttering, dripping with sweat and making less sense than Dubya at his worst. It's just not a good presentation. It would be good material for late night, but we know that won't happen.

"He's stuttering, dripping with sweat and making less sense than Dubya at his worst."

    ###
And making my head spin.....Is Obama taking responsibility for the bonus screw-up or not?....In the same breath......

"Washington is all in a tizzy. 'It's their fault, it's the Democrats' fault, it's the Republicans' fault.' Listen, I'll take responsibility. I’m the president.

    "We didn’t draft these contracts.

"For for everyone in D.C. scrambling how to blame someone else, just go ahead and talk to me, because it’s my job to make sure we fix these messes, even if I don’t make 'em."

    ###
Wow, what a fine job of threading a needle, um? His party (as well as himself, personally) benefitted from large amounts of campaign contributions from AIG and were the powers, the congressional majority, forging this bailout AND allowed the bonuses to be paid because of language IN THE STIMULUS BILL!

The church of SNOBamessiah is screwing up and I will guarantee his biggest fan will use more COUNTDOWN time to cover The One's NCAA brackets, a Jay Leno appearance tease, and the coming vegatable garden on the south lawn of The White House.....TRUTH TO POWER MY A____.

    VERO POSSUMUS!

Oh well, Slippery Shuster is filling in for Obamabermann.....A much less potent defender but look out for those brackets!

    VERO POSSUMUS!

Noooooooooooo!!!! Shuster sitting in. He might be more unwatchable than Laura Ingram. I guess Keith is worn out from Leno. I'm surprised he's not trying to captalize on his Kos interview coupled with no BillO. Wait. Kos cost him viewers.

Barney Frank is on COUNTDOWN now back-tracking about his McCarthyesque calling for, "NAMES!" He has asked the FBI to look into the threats but still wants the names....How nice!

Poor Representative Frank....Feeling a little vulnerable on his faux high horse.

"Noooooooooooo!!!!"? More like YES! I don't have a recap a fricking (to consult the Olbersaurus) thing tonight! Boo-yah!!! My night and day tomorrow just got a whole lot easier.

    "...*to* recap..."

Garofalo says that the EVIL right wing hate machine is out to kill all liberals and we need to eleminate freedom of speech so that the EVIL right wing sub humans won't go on killing sprees.
She then calls all conservatives brain damaged sub humans who need to be put on box cars.
She would make a wonderful girl friend for Adolf Hitler.

Erick Erickson at RedState replied to Oralmann and his blue blog master's mocking of him last night:
    http://tinyurl.com/dxj7yz
"Earlier today I wrote about the email list that a bunch of lefty bloggers and media types are on.
I originally said Keith Olbermann and David Shuster of MSNBC were on it. Ezra Klein emailed me to deny that either were, but I have subsequently received additional information that both Kos from Daily Kos and David Shuster are on the email list.
Tonight, Keith Olbermann and Kos were on that channel no one watches attacking me for pointing out the collaboration on this list between left wing bloggers, lefty policy guys, and regular run of the mill MSM reporters.
They are trying to laugh it off so much and make it a “crazy bloggers” story that we must conclude they are seriously on the defensive about this.
That is, after all, a typical attack from the left. They pooh-pooh what the right says and laugh about it to try to downplay it. They very typically do so when they really, really want to change the subject fast.
The question remains: who is on this list. And given Olbermann’s need to get out in front of this and defend the list, attack me, and misdirect all around, we really need to find out who all is on this list.
Today, a bunch of left wing bloggers and writers went on the attack after I highlighted the story. They are seriously defensive.
Here we have direct evidence of collaboration between left wing bloggers and reporters. They won’t tell us who is on the list. They downplay what is discussed on the list. What exactly are they hiding?
*Ezra Klein emails to say Kos is not on the list and the person telling me Kos is on the list is lying to me. The guy who sent me a few names off the list says Shuster is on it (though Shuster and Klein deny it) and that he is “pretty sure” Kos is. Take that for what you will."

Keith Olbermann on Turesday's COUNTDOWN reported the following:

"[Obama's] chief spokesman, however, questioned about when Obama learned about the bonuses and why he did discussed them until the contractual deadline about the bonuses had passed last week. White House Press Secretary Gibbs declaring the president satisfied that he found out about the bonuses in a timely manner.

    [...]

"The 'Associated Press,' by the way, is reporting at this hour that it has one source who says that the president first learned of the AIG bonuses last Thursday."

    http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/29753963/

    ###
Ok....Now will Keith Olbermann inform his audience of this new C-SPAN video documenting that the AIG bonuses were public knowledge (Democrats on the hill included), in sworn testimony of Treasury Secretary Geitner, ON MARCH 3, 2009, almost two weeks before The White House claims knowledge?.....

    http://tinyurl.com/d2bl29

    ###
Speaking truth to power?.....Tim Geitner is now a proven liar, as is his boss, President Obama....Testimony specifically mentioning the AIG bonuses was presented way before they claim they were informed.

Liars. Plain and simple. Olbermann has some explaining to do for accepting The White House spin.

    VERO POSSUMUS!
