Yeah, it's another recappers thread for The Hour of Spin. We need you to document the outrageous lies and ugly smears of Keith "Man on Fan" Olbermann. Watch Oralmann if you dare, and do your recapping right here. Comments are open!
I do not understand this guy. If anyone disagrees with Obama he calls them obstructionists. He doesn't report news; he reports on news networks and media personalities. I'm wondering if thinking that Bush is to blame for everything and anything in perpetuity isn't a little wierd. Something about the whole show strikes me as a little unhealthy.
I finally get Olbermann! We are not supposed to get upset over his ridiculousness. He actually is our comic relief. His obsession with other networks, other shows. His obsession with Palin. It is all part of the joke. It used to be NBC's inside joke, keeping him on the air so the higher ups can laugh at his absurdities. But he took it too far. He has slipped into absurdities that are even beyond what they imagined.
Olbermann, you have outdone yourself! You claim to have donated 25K to the IHTA fund, all to get Bill O'Reilly to say your name. I think O'Reilly should hold out for far more.
Olbermann brings on the "Mythbuster" guys for his #1 segment. Why? Because they have a good show? Because Keith is a huge fan? Nope, not in Olbyworld. Olbermann trotted them onto his set for one reason. They have done a segment on an upcoming show that Olby was able to turn into a ridicule of Sarah Palin. Ironically, they proved that it is NO myth. You can see Russia from Alaska, via a string of islands. Still, it was blatantly obvious that Keith had no interest in them other than the Palin slam. I hope they learned that the dark rumors about Keith Olbermann are no myth, either.
Still talking about Bush, Cheney and BOR.....sigh.....can Olbermoron's show get any more boring? Is it possible???? I flip over during commercials of The Factor and always see his over sized head ranting about Bush or Cheney while making that arrogant face to the camera. Tip for MSNBC...pull the camera back a little from his face...you are scaring everybody.
Yeah right! Did Olby really say something like "we want to thank you for making msnbc the most watched cable news channel from last year, except for fox, but if your watching us you assume they don't matter" wtf?
Olby is going to have a good april fools joke tomorrow, get ready
indiana50,
Yes, Obama is the King and Olby is the Court Jester.
ObserverDan,
What's even worse is the fact that Palin never said she could see Russia from her house. It was SNL Tina Fey. It was Joseph Goebbels who said,"A lie repeated often enough will become the truth." Olby and the radical left have learned well.
>You claim to have donated 25K to the IHTA fund, all to get Bill O'Reilly to say your name.
I'm calling Ellen Augello tomorrow morning to ask if Keith really did donate $25,000 to the Alexa Foundation. That may be Another Guy-With-The-Blood-On-His-Hands Lie. I'm hoping he was just lying. Otherwise, they REALLY shouldn't take the money.
CountDung, check out this 12 second clip:
http://tinyurl.com/3k6m5h
Gov. Palin actually did say it. Turns out she was exactly correct!
Well the 1st time I saw Countdown, I thought hey why is the ESPN guy doing a newshow, then I started to watch it..I that it was some kind of satire..then I realized this guy is ReAL! ITS not A JOKE! Its only went down hill from there...
Is Keith trying out for Dancing With the Stars with that fake tan he must get sprayed down in the middle of Rockefeller Center every afternoon..
And also to CountDung, you are quite right that Tina Fey added the part about "..from my house". Palin says only "..from (Alaskan) land."
Mike C.,
Maybe a bigger question, if he did indeed donate 25K (which is allot of money), is WHEN did he donate. He's been running this smear for awhile how long has this been on his radar?. Also, was it a bundle sort of thing or was it in his name?
Olbermann made a point of letting everyone know it was he, not Jeff Zucker (as I think O'Reilly reported) who donated 25 grand to the charity. Olby wanted to nail it down. It was HIS donation. What a friggen douchenozzle!
Yes Dan, from her porch vs. on the western land makes all the world of difference but from her house is the lie they perpetuate.
Bill never said Jeff Zucker donated $25,000. He said it was Jeff Zucker that oversaw the sharp left turn in NBC News/MSNBC...or something similar.
If Barney Frank and Co. get their way
They'll be the ones setting your pay
Mister Frank has no worth
Unless measured by girth
Or blowing execs from Fannie Mae
Only 25k? He makes 7 mil, supposedly. Guilt is expensive so I'm not that impressed; he could do better. He's paid more for a baseball card, hasn't he?

good article :)
hey meerkatpooh,
I especially like the line,"This in turn earned a caustic reaction Monday night from MSNBC host Keith Olbermann, a frequent O'Reilly scourge."
First, they are assuming Olby is seldom caustic. Second, he's a scourge. If by "scourge" they mean a flea with a microscopic whip attaching an elephant then I guess they're right.
I wonder if Olby will touch the Biden daughter story BillO put on tonight. Personally, I feel what Bill did is pretty pathetic. I am sure that if it was Bush daughter or Palin daughter it's be hr long countdown special but that doesn't make what Bill did right. However, I don't know how Olby will handle this. If he attacks Bill then Olby might as well be using the story himself. What do you guys think?
Top notch tonight, Katy Turic, top notch.
"Factor" viewer e-mail:
Guedy Kadosh, Atlanta, GA: "Thousands of UPS workers love the Factor. Please explain why the company helped the website that hurt the rape victim."
Bill's response: "UPS allowed itself to be used by a far-left website, sir. We don't want any big deal out of this, okay? We like UPS. Everybody makes mistakes. So...right now...unless there are *more* mistakes, we're content to let it be."
25K, Keith? Is that guilt money for trying to sabotage a charity event that supports rape victims because you didn't like their guest speaker? Or more despicable yet, leverage money to try to gain the high ground in your chosen battle with the eeevil Bill O'Reilly? Or maaaaybe it's just shield money to deflect O'Reilly's repeated charge that you hurt the charity? I'll go with the latter two. God knows your interest in the It Happened to Alexa Foundation was never centered around abused women.
Irush, "The Factor" **did not mention what the supposed video shows Ashley Biden doing**. The guy from Radar Online was *bleeped each time he mentioned the rumor*, a total of five times. Bill handled the story *as delicately as possible* and *did not speculate, rumor monger, or try to damage the Bidens*.
Anyone see O'Reilly on Letterman tonight? I missed it. Saw the tease, said " fireworks were flying". I guess I'll wait for the online video.
THIS IS NOT A BLOG OF O'REILLY VS. OLBERMANN. IT'S A BLOG ABOUT OLBERMANN AND HIS HYPOCRISY.
(Though I would have to check with Johnny first.)
I'm watching on DVR right now. The fireworks indeed flew. After Dave played nice in October, he returned to the progressive O'Reilly/Fox hater that he is. It reminded me of a certain infamous, deplorable person. I guarantee that tomorrow night, said person will show Bill at his most hyperbolic and Dave's best jabs. And I think we know which person I mean.
Just watch BOR on Letterman and two things come to mind:
1) BOR gets almost a full hour on Letterman.
2) Olbermoron gets FILL IN roles on Leno when other guests cancel.
Enough said.
The fact that Olbermann has been obsessed with Bill O'Reilly is indisputable. However, this obsession has been taken to a new level as of late. Olbermann realizes that his ratings are not improving and will in all likelihood decline rather than increase because with each passing day his lifeline, George W. Bush's Presidency, becomes more historical than pertinent. Olbermann consistently finishes third in the 25-54 demographic behind O'Reilly and Nancy Grace. This was the demo that Olbermann touted as even more important than total viewers, and he did so only because it's the demo he had won, albeit only a few times, last November. He was beaten soundly in total viewership even when he squeaked out a few victories in the demo. So if the only demo we are to pay attention to is the 25-54 demo, Keith Olbermann must come to terms with the fact that he is hosting a constant third place (and third rate) show. In Olbermann's world, this humiliation will not stand. This is the reason his attacks on Bill O'Reilly have increased from often to always. It is also the reason these attacks will continue with even more vitriol, hostility, and of course, pomposity. He will try to goad O'Reilly with his snide comments and dishonest attacks. Olbermann's goal is to have O'Reilly respond to one of his lies, distortions, or attacks so that "Countdown with Keith Olbermann" can be seen by O'Reilly's 3.5 million viewers. He realizes that this is the only way it will be seen by so many, but his hope would be to have the resulting curiosity provide a bump in his ratings. There is little chance of O'Reilly actually playing along with this scenario, which means the attacks will become more and more vile, tasteless, and mendacious until one of three things happen:
1. A significant percentage of his viewers will choose to reject his continual hateful and deceptive commentaries and will tune out.
2. NBC will finally conclude that it can no longer tolerate the disrepute brought about by his unscrupulousness.
3. Advertisers will find that Olbermann's controversial tactics are not worth their dollars to reach such a small audience.
If Keith Olbermann is unable to come to terms with the fact that he is a third rate news commentator hosting a third place show, his misguided self-evaluation combined with his unabashed arrogance and pomposity will be his downfall.
It's turned into both, CD.
Excellent post, Johnnie H.
Brad, I remember when Olby filled in for John McCain on "The Late Show" in September. He and Dave mocked McCain for backing out of the show while the live feed from CBS showed him getting ready for an interview with, and being interviewed by, Katie Couric. And when the choir audience applauded the mocking, Keith clapped, too. He did so with an upward glance and pouty lip, as if to say "Bravo. Excelsior." Awful.
Dan, I finished watching the Bill-Dave bout and it was spirited, and at times, on Dave's side, brutal. As insulting as Dave was throughout, it seemed the two were talking to each other cordially during the breaks and Dave nicely said "always a pleasure" at the conclusion. The interview went for three acts (blocks; segments). In the third act, Dave almost showed the infamous "Inside Edition" blooper, but with Bill's permission. Bill set the clip up, but the two decided not to show it. I'm glad cooler heads prevailed. I'm thinking that although Dave doesn't completely like Bill, he enjoys the joust. I know Bill does, as we see every night on "The Factor." That's why the show's been #1 for 100 months and counting!
Did anyone notice on "The Factor" that Donald Trump and Regis Philbin (in respective pre-records) congratulated Bill for the milestone? I'm sure more congratulations will be coming from big-name "Factor" fans. We'll see.
Between is inane cheap platitudes and calling Michael Steele "Richard," Letterman has established himself as the most overrated talk show host on the air.
Conan O'Brien can't get to the Tonight Show fast enough.
Letterman: "You guys are too smart to believe what you're saying."
As opposed to what, being too dumb to think for yourself?
So Keith has tried to buy out the house at IHTAF in order to further manipulate the issue he started around the fundraiser and to try now to manipulate O'Reilly!
Get help, Keith! You're disturbed and your obsession with Bill O'Reilly has become frightening!
You've now made IHTAF a mere prop for your ego!
Mike C you are right and BOR is way to smart to walk into the trap being set by KO. Like I said a couple days ago,, this will drive KO nuts. His attacks will become more and more extreme and in the end this will be the nail in Countdown's coffin.
I think Bill O should donate more than Keith and then announce it on his show. The repercussions could be highly entertaining and profitable for the charity.
johnnie_h, I'd like to add a #4 to your list:
4. Viewers realize that Countdown has no credible guests and quit watching.
Countdown's moonbat parade of Janeane Garofolo, Markos Moulitsas, Howard Fineman, Eugene Robinson, Richard Wolffe, Arianna Huffington, Howard & John Dean, etc. is as predictable as it is laughable.
Did you notice that at the end of the program, KO said something about a "special announcment" on Wednesday's show. I wonder what that's about. Maybe making his 10:00 rerun permanent? I hope not.
merkle923, the guests truly are laughable. MSNBC can save a lot of money by setting up two bobbleheads facing each other, tap each one on top of their head and go to commercial when they stop moving. That's basically what the guest portion of the show is now, anyway. To preserve visual accuracy, Olbermann's bobblehead would have to be twice as big as the other one...and orange.
Sy Hersh's appearance is very interesting. The "Cheney moles" idea really is attractive to those who are so enthralled with and blindly following Obama to have a strawman to blame for any foreign policy situation, policy or even crisis that develops these next 4 years.
Just like "neoconservatives" previously, the radical left needs the bogeyman "enemy" to advance their agenda. It's good to know they will continue their intellectually dishonest propaganda.
This new administration is showing their thin skin and political agenda early and it bodes badly for people yearning to be free and secure.
My current attitude towards this group of naive, superficial, and arrogant neophytes is well summed up in these latest clips from THE DAILY SHOW:

All I have to say is, as usual....
VERO POSSUMUS!
There's at least one Olby fan who came to his senses
http://tiny.cc/nxmou
Olberirrelevancy-the impertinent extraneous, immaterial, inapplicable, irrelevant, pointless ramblings and ravings of he who shall remain nameless.
Muted mongrel tonight on the church of SNOBamessiah revival hour....
Obama's broken promise on raising taxes......
"'I can make a firm pledge,' [Obama] said in Dover, N.H., on Sept. 12. 'Under my plan, no family making less than $250,000 a year will see any form of tax increase. Not your income tax, not your payroll tax, not your capital gains taxes, not any of your taxes.'"
###
Obama is allowing an increase in the cigarette tax.....people making less than 200k smoke, I believe.
Liar in chief.....and the true believers remain silent.....Again I say.....
VERO POSSUMUS!
I've decided not to call IHTAF. I'm sure if Keith did donate money to them, they didn't accept it. Since Merkle is a repeatedly proven liar, I don't think he donated to them.
One correction: I previously said the foundation is in Boston. They are actually in Lewiston, New York. I am "literally, dreadfully sorry" for the error.
I watched the O'Reilly/Leno interview. On balance, it went quite well and both men seemed to enjoy it. Sure, Letterman tried to set O'Reilly off by calling him a 'goon' early on, but BillO didn't bite and it was smooth sailing thereafter.
Olbermann's head must be ready to explode. Bill O'Reilly is doing a victory lap with his 100 month 1st place prize, and Olby can only sit back and watch. None of this fits into Olbermanns narrative. Can't these fools see that it's he, not O'Reilly, that should be number 1? He's proved it night after night relentlessly. Tilt. It was he that made O'Reilly back up 18 inches when they met on a ball field once. Tilt. It was he that donated big bucks to that damn rape foundation. Tilt. It was he that proved that O'Reilly actually did mention his name that one time. Tilt. Does not compute. Tilt. .......
Mike C.- even though he was bleeping the actual allegations, don't you think it was a little unnecessary? I don't see a reason to draw attention to any of it, bleeps or no bleeps.
Anyway, maybe Olbys special surprise tonight will be that 10 PM is going live with Olby as host of 1 hr fact or fiction in which Olby recaps the previous nights Factor....
merkle923,... the guests truly are laughable. This whole statement is hysterical and very apt. Didn't they once have a commercial where sport bobblehead dolls went at it talking or something like that? I remember laughing at it then, and thinking I know people who are just like this, and now that you mentioned it merkle olbermann's whole show fits that image to a T.
Bobblehead show. Just perfect....
Tuesday's ratings:
http://tinyurl.com/c9jro6
BOR at 8:00 in 25-54: 800,000
KO at 8:00 in 25-54: 462,000
BOR at 8:00 in total: 3,598,000
KO at 8:00 in total: 1,285,000
I wish #2 (Oralmann) didn't try so hard (reference to Avis slogan).
KO at 10:00 in 25-54: 214,000 (3rd)
KO at 10:00 in total: 665,000 (3rd, only 3,000 ahead of Nancy Grace)
Nearly 3-to-1 for Bill i total viewers. I wish he could do that most nights. Then Obobblemann would be history that much sooner.
Well Chris "a thrill up my leg" Matthews struck again today. This time, he was describing the Obama's, especially Michelle, the new "Icon" of fashion. C'mon...she should be running the 5th at Belmont.
He told the two ladies there he gets so excited seeing them together as they walk to the helicopter and to Air Force One, they have that look as if they won the lottery. Then he goes, "I'll say it...it gives me a thrill."
If KO goes, can they take Matthews along as a two for deal?
IF YOU BELIEVE THAT MSNBC SHOULD
