The above video sets the stage for tonight's Hour of Spin. The AIG bonuses have been the topic on cable news, and particularly MSNBC, all day. The question is: how will the infamous, deplorable Keith Olbermann cover this story? Especially considering that Countdown fave Sen Chris Dodd has just admitted that he approved the language protecting those bonuses, and his own staff actually wrote the language? That after having angrily denied that he knew anything about just 24 hours earlier! Translation: Sen Dodd caught in a lie. This is a tough one for Edward R Olbermann. Does he call out Dodd for lying? Does he try to shift the responsibility to someone else? (Sorry Olby, Bush was already out of office.) Or does "Man on Fan" Olbermann discretely, delicately, completely avoid making any mention of the lie (the classic Dog That Did Not Bark)? See for yourself, and do your recapping right here. Comments are open!
To repeat what I said a minute ago in the Tuesday thread: YES! I don't have to recap a fricking (to consult the Olbersaurus) thing tonight! Boo-yah!!! My night and day tomorrow just got a whole lot easier. The rest of you can watch, but I'm not.
Good to have a break MikeC....enjoy.
I had to turn it off after Barney Frank....My head hurt with all of the "we didn't know," "that was not our job," etc.....
And Shuster just let the propaganda roll....of course there was no Republican counterpoint to the Democrat's talking points.
More lies from Democrat Dodd and the Democrat administration......
"Treasury Learned of AIG Bonuses Earlier Than Claimed"
http://www.time.com/time/business/article/0,8599,1886138,00.html
"Senate Banking committee Chairman Christopher Dodd told CNN’s Dana Bash and Wolf Blitzer Wednesday that he was responsible for adding the bonus loophole into the stimulus package that permitted AIG and other companies that received bailout funds to pay bonuses.
"On Tuesday, Dodd denied to CNN that he had anything to do with the adding of that provision."

HOPE AND CHANGE HAS COME TO WASHINGTON! VERO POSSUMUS!
That is a well deserved vacation, Mike.
As for myself I am pleading age. I hope that is OK b/c wild dogs couldn't drive me to watch him anymore.
Must be a really nice bathtub in the motel.
Johnny, would you consider making a video of Laura Ingraham's Talking Points Memo tonight mixed with last night's #1 Olby segment with Joel McHale? The two segments go well together. The Unresolved Problems segment from tonight could go in, too.
Speaking of that last segment, I never want to see Julie Menin or hear Julie Menin ever again! Get the hell off Fox and go to MSNBC. By the way, did you notice the segment had to be edited because she wouldn't shut her mouth? Can you say filibuster and interview hijack?
What is Ingram trying to do with this Meghan McCain deal? It's obvious that she wasn't implying that fat people cannot make arguments. She needs to admit that she had an "Matthews Moment" and just got a little carried away (See any given Cheeeeeeeney rant on Hardball). I think it's fair to think that it was a well thought out personal attack smear, otherwise known as an "Olby Moment". She's screwed up. She's needs to move on.
And I mean it. I couldn't last the whole segment. I was watching the show on DVR and had to stop with what was likely a minute left in that segment. Then, I erased and switched to my recording of "Jeopardy." Per my trip to the show's message boards, I know who won and I'm going to watch how they won. Good ol' "Jeopardy." God love ya, Alex. The same goes for Johnny Gilbert, an announcing legend.
Sorry, but I'm really pissed right now. I'm trying to change the subject, but Julie Menin pissed me off. Your HuffPo boss favors Keith. You probably do, too. Admit it.
On a lighter subject, RedState shot back at Keith and Kos mocking them last night:
http://www.redstate.com/absentee/2009/03/18/olbermann-and-kos-nurse-wounded-pride/
I have my problems with Laura's style, but I'm on her side after hearing her side tonight. Julie Menin helped in swaying me. Sorry to keep going back to her, but I'm still pissed.
Laura Ingraham, Schnozzledouche?
If I say that about Julie Menin, I'll be crucified.
Not to take away from Shep's rant- I think the idea was good. However, Libs being Libs, the MSM will dismiss this because he works at FOX. I also see the nitpicking Libs jumping on the McCarthy comments... Perhaps I am wrong, but I think Shep got his McCarthy story a little wrong. Didn't McCarthy used to say that he (McCarthy) had a list and McCarthy was the one who got angry when people finally asked him to show them his list?
I see Keith jumping on it. McCarthy! [Ding!]

Mike, are you talking about Ingraham's talking points memo?
No. Unresolved Problems. Guests: John Gibson, !!Julie Menin!!
that's what I meant. The claws came out with the two girls on that one. Gibson had to be thinking, "what the hell did I get myself into?'
Chris Dodd caught in a bold faced lie. John Stewart attacks the new Messiah. Caterpillar shit cans thousands after Obama's wonderful stimulus package takes effect. Where is truth to power Olbermann? It's bath tub time!!!! Olby is busy in the tub trying to find the next conservative/republican straw man to attack. Maybe Olby can borrow Obama's fiddle.
The RedState link I provided links to Erick Erickson's reply to the Keith-Kos mocking:

"Earlier today I wrote about the email list that a bunch of lefty bloggers and media types are on.
I originally said Keith Olbermann and David Shuster of MSNBC were on it. Ezra Klein emailed me to deny that either were, but I have subsequently received additional information that both Kos from Daily Kos and David Shuster are on the email list.
Tonight, Keith Olbermann and Kos were on that channel no one watches attacking me for pointing out the collaboration on this list between left wing bloggers, lefty policy guys, and regular run of the mill MSM reporters.
They are trying to laugh it off so much and make it a “crazy bloggers” story that we must conclude they are seriously on the defensive about this.
That is, after all, a typical attack from the left. They pooh-pooh what the right says and laugh about it to try to downplay it. They very typically do so when they really, really want to change the subject fast.
The question remains: who is on this list. And given Olbermann’s need to get out in front of this and defend the list, attack me, and misdirect all around, we really need to find out who all is on this list.
Today, a bunch of left wing bloggers and writers went on the attack after I highlighted the story. They are seriously defensive.
Here we have direct evidence of collaboration between left wing bloggers and reporters. They won’t tell us who is on the list. They downplay what is discussed on the list. What exactly are they hiding?
*Ezra Klein emails to say Kos is not on the list and the person telling me Kos is on the list is lying to me. The guy who sent me a few names off the list says Shuster is on it (though Shuster and Klein deny it) and that he is “pretty sure” Kos is. Take that for what you will."

Sweating worse than Obama. Gross.

Oh, I forgot. So, that's why he was off tonight.
But I wasn't going to watch Leno anyway.

The same way he covers all breaking news that is unfavorable towards Democrats.
He doesn't...
He hits the bathtub and lays low till the talking points are issued!

Oh, my god...
At some point, Johnny, there needs to be a Katy Turic retrospective site link for these.
WPITW pick tonight?.......
"'Somebody said that we're not in President Obama's Final Four, and as much as I respect what he's doing, really, the economy is something that he should focus on, probably more than the brackets,' Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski said from the Blue Devils' first-round site in Greensboro, N.C."

GO BLUE DEVILS! VERO POSSUMUS!
After the CPAC speech, I recall the Wolfeman making several remarks regarding how sweaty and heavy Rush looked on TV. Olby did not join in the overweight comments, but he didn't have a problem with giving Richard at least 4 nights of free reign to do so. Olby also agreed with Wolfes assessment that because Rush was heavy breathing, fat and/or sweaty everyone should just dismiss Rush's comments and message.
Given recent tv appearances by heavy breathing, overweight and/or sweating democrats (see footnote), I wonder if we'll get 4 more nights of Countdown providing Wolfe free reign to make the same, oh he's fat, sweaty etc. and thus unimportant remarks. Something tells me that Wolfe will experience selective amnesia tonight when he comes on to give his "analysis" tonight.
Ft.Nt.- exhibit A- a sweat drenched, heavy breathing, babbling, bumbling Obama during his town hall -see any YouTube
exhibit B- an overweight, heavy breathing, sweaty Olbermann on Leno- video was up on johnnydollar.us
