People can do whatever they want, but I don't understand why (judging from the story) Cooper is letting him get away with this. Is there honor among liberals?

I wish this could make Dan Cooper like Fox again, but I know it won't.
It's equally amusing to me to see on that clip (from a few days ago, but still) Keith ripping Brit Hume for thanking the Media Research Center, which I think is just the conservative counterpart to MediaMatters.org in terms of its watchdog functionality. Since we all know KO is completely reliant upon Media Matters for his broadcasts, it reeks of another case of Olbypocrisy.
As for the Twitter thing, you can tell that was a shoot from the hip action simply because he named the general entity Twitter as WPITW as opposed to Dan Cooper. Naming Dan Cooper alone would have had to involve an ounce of research to uncover his involvement. Instead he resorts to his tired playbook of Fox News smears (another shining example of his call for political civility in the wake of the NY Post cartoon scandal).

The reason is simple, basic and goes deep into the psyche of Keith Olbermann, the standard-bearer of MSNBC and truncheon of NBC News.
The reason is Olbermann's arrogant, all consuming, perveted hatred. Hatred that is easily apparent to anyone who has eyes to see and ears to hear.
Hatred that remains without any accountability for as long as the grown ups at NBC News and MSNBC allow their problem child to run amuck.

It is a pretty sad commentary on what he is able to do to people with the consent of NBC, MSNBC, GE and of course the little puke Stevie the corporate attorney who can only threaten as a response. The man is a modern version of Tail Gunner Joe from the other side of the spectrum. He is vermin. The problem is GE is getting money from Obama and Obama's vermin man, the Chief of Staff, is apparently pumping KO with his marching orders so there is no hope that GE has a soul and integrity and the moral courage to deal with this. Isn't it a hoot how KO and his ilk just pound on the "Big Corporations" and yet one of the biggest is worse than just about any of them. But it doesn't matter because they are on the side of the rightous left.
I think we all new that the downfall of Keith would not be his left wing insanity but his lazy disregard for facts or truth. I hope this Dan guy sues the shit out of NBC and Keith if forced to give a real public retraction.

That was a very insightful and fair summation of another Olbermann hate smear.
This last unprofessional action by Olbermann, just on the heels of the hate crusade aganist the IT HAPPENED TO ALEXA FOUNDATION, should really give pause to the true professionals (if there are any left), at NBC NEWS.
If Olbermann does not retract his WPitW with apology, it will prove he is totally unaccountable to the truth or simple journalistic standards. A prime time news anchor even with the ego, lack of talent and radical agenda Olbermann has should have one little shred of concern over the future of his reputation!
I will no be surprised if he doesn't pologize and retract and crosses yet another line of decency.
Actually, this could be one of those extremely rare circumstances where Keith tells the world that he is "dreadfully sorry." I'm not saying it's going to happen, just that it could. This isn’t O’Reilly, Limbaugh or Murdoch. The difference here is that he smeared one of his fellow travelers. Judging by his past behavior, that seems to make it more likely that an apology will happen.
What are the odds he'll blame someone else and say "they haven't apologized so we'll apologize for them."

NEW YORK (AP) — MSNBC is putting its search for a new prime-time show on hold. It will continue to air Keith Olbermann's talk show twice each weeknight.
With the liberal Olbermann and Rachel Maddow airing in prime time, it caused some jockeying when MSNBC chief executive Phil Griffin said earlier this year he was interested in replacing the Olbermann repeat at 10 p.m. with a live show.
Griffin says now that the repeat is doing so well in the ratings it would take something special to dislodge it.
He spells his last name "Hersh."
