No, you won't see the infamous, deplorable Keith Olbermann tonight. Bathman is out, and his faithful sidekick Robin will be hosting The Hour of Spin in his stead. Where oh where is Keith "Man on Fan" Olbermann? In a seedy hotel room with a bottle of cheap Merlot and a disposable tie? Or cowering in his bathtub for fear that he might run into Gary Bernsten? Whatever the reason, Krazy Keith will not appear tonight. And for that we are literally, dreadfully sorry. Comments are open!
Mondays and Fridays off are understandable. Tuesdays...well, I'm sure Bathtub Boy has the water running and the scented candles lite.
I think I know why Bathtub Boy won't show up for tonites show, Howard Fineman jumped ship and now says that Obama is messing things up pretty bad. Looks like ol Keith will probable be looking for a Fineman replacement.
Their dropping like flies I tell ya.
It's Berntsen.
Wow, that was a great article by Bernsten. I can see why KO is probably hiding right now or getting his Huffington Post, Daily Kos, etc friends to see if they can find any holes in Bernsten's article, highly doubtful. But I guess we have to deal with "Robin" Shuster for one whole hour. *sigh*
Anyway, anyone find it interesting that last night KO basically punted away a segment by showing clips from other shows, mostly two SNL sketches that bash Republicans?
It's as if he is finding validation in his beliefs through a ridiculous television show.
Hey, how long ago was it that he bashed Bill O'Reilly for playing clips about torture from "24" and dismissed those as a ludicrous TV show?
If Berntsen is a sadist, according to the reigning anti-American ape ruler, for rightfully calling for the execution of the man who orchestrated the deaths of 3000 innocent American lives, then please tell me ape ruler, what word would YOU use to describe Khalid Sheikh Mohammed? No don't tell me I already know...Hero
Christ, I can't stand this no nothing pound of flesh. What a friggin disgrace he is to every living and dead American.
Yippie! Accorsing to Not-so-fine Howard Finnemann, we can re joice the choosen one all by HIMSELF made the Stock Markey go up 300+ points, yes you heard correctly its all Obozo's doing! Ok Finemman what about the 3000- dip since he was elected?
What a great article. I find it hard to believe any American would have sympathy for these dirtbags who have dedicated their lives to destroy our country. What's worse is doing it for ratings. Well, theoretical ratings.
Bad timing for Keithee to take off. Friday's ratings were quite bad and now with a weak sub Tuesday's will probably be even lower.
I wonder what Monday's ratings were? If they were bad, maybe that's why the "Lie-On King" is hiding i the bathtub.
I have a friend who knows Gary Berntsen and Keith Olbermann. He assures me Gary Berntsen is no Keith Olbermann.
(Like anyone would ever compare the two)
I just wanted to do my Llyoyd Bentsen about Gary Berntsen.
WHERE IN THE WORLD IS KEEF... IS HE...
#1. At Kinko's running off a few thousand copies of his Cornell Diploma to send to his closest "friends"?
#2. Trolling SoHo bars looking for women half his age and one quarter his weight? Diploma rolled up in trouser pocket?
#3. Sticking pins in his voodoo doll of O'Reiily?

Keith is off sniffing D. Jeter's jock or asking to sit in the Yankee bathtub. I figures Keith needed a break.
Monday's ratings:
http://www.mediabistro.com/tvnewser/ratings/the_scoreboard_monday_march_9_110947.asp

BOR at 11:00 in total: 1,503,000
KO at 10:00 in total: 919,000 (3rd; AC 2nd, Greta 1st)
He's the subject of ridicule
He's been (MS)NBC's tool
He's way overpaid
Has Limbaugh outweighed
From both sides of his mouth there's drool
KO is in Tampa for Spring Training at Mons Venus.
Thanks Mike C. I thought I'd have to wait until tomorrow to see the stats.
So last week on Monday Keithee pulled in 1,537,000
This Monday he gets 1,308,000.
That's down.
His lowest day last week was Friday with 1,081,000
And last week his 2nd lowest was Wednesday at 1,349,000
Generally speaking he's down. When will he be down and OUT???
I have two links to share from last night's "O'Reilly Factor."
First is the Talking Points Memo titled "The far-left smear machine and Rush Limbaugh": http://tinyurl.com/br938o
Next, the Top Story segment with Bernie Goldberg: http://tinyurl.com/b2mj5n
Bernie named his list of the five worst smear merchants in the mainstream media, or as Rush would say, "the drive-by media."
SIDE NOTE: I liked Rush's CPAC speech, but I don't listen to his radio show. Going after Michael Steele and now Newt Gingrich affirmed my decision not to listen. I hardly listened before that, anyway. But I'll continue to defend him against attacks by Boss Olbermann. And if I'm ever bored between 12:00 and 3:00, particularly if I'm in the car, I'll put him on for a few seconds. But then right back to WCBS or 1010 WINS or WFAN or whatever.
Wow.
Berntsen's article is eloquent and filled to the brim with passion.
And contrary to Olby's modus operandi, entirely lacking in degenerate personal attacks and profanity.
NBC - led by their Goon in Chief - has disgraced itself since the death of Russert.
I have great respect for Berntsen. I have none for Olbermann.
Damn it! I was sooooo looking foreward to him addressing this.......
Bill O’Reilly and Bernard Goldberg Name The Five Worst Liberals in the Wooooorld!
No. 1.....MSBS!
As others have commented on this site over the last several days, the diploma display on air was truly the 'jump the shark' moment for this ongoing train wreck.
I think that Olverpaid has finally lost contact with reality and wasn't in a coherent condition to go on the air Tuesday night. I expect he'll be back in the next few days or week or so because there has been huge strides made with anti-psychotic drugs, and NBC's investment in this man-made disaster will cause them to spare no expense with Doctors or treatment to make Olberfraud presentable on air. But looking back in the future, the beginning of March of 2009 will be seen as when Klowndown really was finished.
The incompetence of the new administration seems to be not important to the hard working journalists at COUNTDOWN.....
"Thank you for calling the Treasury Department in the Age of Obama. Due to our neglect in appointing senior positions, no one can take your call right now. If you are calling from the offices of our G-20 allies, please press 1 and we’ll send you 25 complimentary Region DVDs for your inconvenience:
"He has a reputation for being the archetypal senior civil servant professional, unflappable, and, above all, discreet. But Sir Gus O'Donnell risked sparking a transatlantic tiff today with an imprudent remark about Downing Street’s relations with the White House.
The head of the civil service, Sir Gus said the handover to President Barack Obama's administration was severely hindering preparations for next month's G20 summit. In an extraordinary blunder, the usually-guarded Sir Gus said no-one in the U.S. Treasury department was answering telephone calls. He said it meant the Government was finding it 'unbelievably difficult' to hold discussions ahead of the meeting of world leaders in London.
"Gee, I seem to remember when Barack Obama ran on the promise of restoring relations with the rest of the world. How’s that working out so far? The Brits seem unimpressed in the extreme.
"When we last heard from the Obama team about their peculiar handling of Gordon Brown, they claimed to be too overwhelmed and exhausted from the economic crisis to pay attention to the niceties of protocol. The upcoming G-20 summit will focus on that very problem, aiming for coordination of action to rebuild confidence in Western financial systems. Is Obama now too overwhelmed and exhausted to work on that crisis as well?
"This problem likely stems from the failure of the Obama administration to fill senior positions at Treasury. One might think that Geithner and Team Obama would make that a priority, especially in areas where phone calls might come from American allies looking to coordinate on policy. Now it looks as though they still haven’t hired the receptionists."

Again, I wonder where the objective journalists are concerning how the new administration is responding to our economic problems.....OH THAT'S RIGHT.....RUSH LIMBAUGH IS A MUCH MORE IMPORTANT FIGURE IN ALL THIS RIGHT NOW!
VERO POSSUMUS!
Well, I don't know if anyone was watching Hardball, but Matthews just got hammered by Ari Fleischer. Matthews wouldn't let Ari get in a word edge wise, but he kept giving it to him over and over. I loved that Matthews sat there and took his lumps, knowing he was flat out WRONG!
Then at the end, Fleischer gave Matthews one last salvo by saying, "well we know where you stand."
The interview started off friendly cause Matthews thought he had the upper hand on Ari, but soon it became apparent that Matthews was up against someone who WAS there and KNEW what he was talking about. Matthews tried every lawyer trick, trying to get Ari into a trap but he was too smart and good going to finally put those idiots at MSNBC in their place.
Look what Bathtub boy has done to GE stock.
Commentary: Could O'Reilly have been a factor in GE's stock becoming a dim bulb?
http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/content_display/news/e3i7362e28f2f885808ff8119dd152d2701
Chris Matthews is a unabashed Obama lover for sure. He is not, however, afraid to mix it up with the likes of Fleisher or Delay and a host other Conservatives.
Olbermann, on the other hand, would no more debate Ari Fleisher than he would miss the next intallment of Harry Potter.
Remember where The Hollywood Reporter is ideologically. They're on the same wavelength as Krazy Keith. In fact, writer Paul Bond made the same "well, News Corp's worse" argument as Man on Fan.
At ICN, Spud was critical of Bond, too: http://insidecablenews.wordpress.com/2009/03/11/in-depth-oreilly-was-right-maybe-but-not-the-cause/
"Bond is usually a solid writer but this time he throws up a big air ball. To lay this all on O’Reilly or even hint that O’Reilly is the cause is vastly overstating things. There’s a thing or two that Bond doesn’t mention that affects GE far more than O’Reilly ever could and it’s also why a comparison of News Corp. stock price to GE stock price is lunacy.
The biggest drain on GE’s stock price has to do with GE’s Financial Arm, something Bond should know well since its been all over the news. News Corp. does not have that kind of a drain on its business (it has a totally different kind of drain…Rupert Murdoch’s obsession with newspapers and his willingness to overpay for them). To compare the two stock prices, given these circumstances, is a fool’s errand. It’s also why pushing an O’Reilly angle in GE’s stock price is at the very least a thin argument and at the very worst fool hardy."
Yesterday's ratings are out:

Robin couldn't pull in Bathman's numbers.
Headline at Drudge:
CABLE NEWS RACE
TUES., MARCH 10, 2009
FOXNEWS O'REILLY 3,212,000
FOXNEWS HANNITY 2,376,000
FOXNEWS BECK 2,331,000
FOXNEWS BAIER 2,274,000

CNN KING 1,185,000
MSNBC MADDOW 1,041,000
CNNHN GRACE 986,000
MSNBC OLBERMANN 928,000
Look who's name is LAST! Note: the nuance that "Olberfraud wasn't there last night' is irrelevant because Olverpaid would have no problem if it was one of his enemies in the same situation.
BTW, do you think the Doctor's were successful and patched the leech up or will he be MIA again?
Ari Fleisher just got done cleaning Chris Matthews clock. This is right up there with ol Bathtub boy and his diploma. I swear I saw Chris's bottom lip trembling.
MSNBC..... in the tank where it belongs.
I thought this quote from Matthews hilarious:
"And I am glad that we no longer have an administration that uses that kind of argument… And the American people are happier, too. They are, I can assure you. We don’t like that thinking anymore in this country."
Who are YOU to be speaking on behalf of us Matthews? To quote your inept sidekick on election night, KO: "How DARE YOU SIR."
I watched the entire segment with Fleischer, meerkatpooh....Matthews was ridiculous.
And hypocritical. The Obama administration is now claiming similar economic calamity if their policies are not enacted.....it is the same political tactic used by Bush.....evidence is presented to support the action.
We will see if the same Bush naysayers hold Obama accountable when his policies show their ill effects.
Fleischer's point about Saddam being brought to justice and GONE was left hanging out there by ol' Matthews. The Iran argument actually is counterproductive to the left because their influence in the region has diminished because of their failure to influence the outcome in Iraq.... thanks to Bush's steadfast defense of freedom and democracy.
"And I am glad that we no longer have an administration that uses that kind of argument… And the American people are happier, too. They are, I can assure you. We don’t like that thinking anymore in this country."
Cee, he did put me in mind of Mikey's claim that your "thinking was a cancer that needed to be removed".
Small petty minds obviously think alike!
Rightous indignation watch tonight on COUNTDOWN....Obama is considering making our troops pay for service related injury treatment....
'Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki confirmed Tuesday that the Obama administration is considering a controversial plan to make veterans pay for treatment of service-related injuries with private insurance.
'No official proposal to create such a program has been announced publicly, but veterans groups wrote a pre-emptive letter last week to President Obama voicing their opposition to the idea after hearing the plan was under consideration.
'The groups also cited an increase in 'third-party collections' estimated in the 2010 budget proposal — something they said could be achieved only if the Veterans Administration started billing for service-related injuries.
'Asked about the proposal, Shinseki said it was under 'consideration.'
'A final decision hasn’t been made yet,' he said.'

Olbermann would dedicate an entire segment with indignant shaking head if the Bush administration ever floated such a trial balloon....
I bet the church of SNOBamessiah revival hour will pass on putting the leader down for this cost saver!.....What hypocrisy!
VERO POSSUMUS!
How many times did OlberOldMcDonald mention 'LimBoss' because Rush doesn't want Obama's policies to succeed? At least a dozen?
Will we FINALLY see on Klowndown tonight James Carville's desire for President Bush, ""I certainly hope he doesn't succeed."" on the morning of 9/11 before the attacks?
I'm guessing no. MSNBC the place for the DNC spin machine.
