ABC News has “outed” two “architects” behind CIA waterboarding. On their website, they link to video of their reporters confronting both men separately to ask their nonsensical questions of these former military officers. Where’s Olbermann’s outrage about ABC’s “ambush journalism” and their “stalking” of the two American patriots who directed the waterboarding sessions of al Qaeda suspects? He characterized O’Reilly with these terms in regard to Amanda Terkel, after all. Where’s ThinkProgress’ “Stop Supporting the ABC Harassment Machine” to go along with their “Stop Supporting the O’Reilly Harassment Machine” for what they called a “mafia style operation” in response to his producer’s encounter with Amanda Terkel? Where’s Olbermann’s outrage about the identity leaks so he would remain consistent with his views about Valerie Plame being “outed?” When her identity was leaked, Olbermann implied that President Bush had "done more to help terrorists and rogue states than hurt them." In regard to ABC News employing techniques Olbermann has lambasted in the past, all we get is silence from this hateful, dishonest smear merchant. His silence conveys tacit approval of these techniques now that they are used against men who were instrumental in keeping America safe.
Conversely, Brian Ross ambushed Bill Ayers in November.
I was watching the last segment of Countdown when my television screen all of a sudden shattered. Michael Musto had appeared on it.
Any O'Reilly or Fox attacks tonight? Also, was there a second Foxx attack?
To MikeC,
I have to say, you can watch the show, watch the replay, or get online and watch it. But to constantly come on here and ask what happens is annoying. Just watch the show. This is a website for people to respond to his show, not ask what happens. I'm sure there was an O"Reilly and fox attack, so watch the show and find out.
Since you're fairly new, STBS, I'll explain. I used to do partial recaps by either recording the show on DVR or watching certain segments on the "Countdown" website. I've even did a partial WPitW recap on Tuesday. But it is otherwise painful for me to watch, or even listen to, any part of Keith's show. There are plenty of people here that feel the same way. So, when I can't work up the energy to watch, I rely on any of my fellow users to clue me in. And more often than not, they comply. We at OlbyWatch each work together in our own way.
I hope that clears things up.
Can you just picture the outradge and furror on the left if someone went on The Factor and made such digusting hateful and anti-women comments like the fruticake did on Countdown. I was thinking these people are just so bitter and angry and MEAN! Hey buddy this has nothing to do with you being gay but you are ONE ugly person..and I mean in the inside..where does KO dig up this low lifes?
If it's so painful to watch or listen to then why do you want to know what happens? I would think it would be just as painful. If it's that important to you, don't waste these people's time by recapping O'Reilly and Fox attacks for ya, just watch it. It's that simple. Most of these people use these comments to get out frustration, not do a summary for you. Let the people strong enough to watch vent, not give you a play by play. I hope that clears things up.

"don't waste these people's time by recapping O'Reilly and Fox attacks for ya, just watch it."
One might also say to you don't waste our time complaining about Mike and if anyone is offended, as you seem to be, we all are big boys and girls and can speak for ourselves.
Okay, "Grammie???", then why don't you recap the show for him? Then turn around, change his diaper, give him his bottle, and sing him to sleep. He'll never learn until he does it on his own. By the way, your comment was very Olbermann like. Very nice!
Thanks, Grammie.
Any other regulars tired of me relying on you for recaps, whether short or long?
....by the way, in high school, did you let the slacker copy all your work after you went through the pain of doing it on your own? Same thing here. I have lost all respect for this website. It all started when Olbermann's mommy croaked. I saw nothing but a bunch of little vaginas weeping for some hatred spewing douchebag. Now, it's just turning into a poor man's version of the dailykos. Good luck, so-called, OlbyWatchers. Your doing nothing but giving the guy ratings. Way to stick it to him!
I'm with you, too, Mike C. You've paid your dues watching the mess that is Countdown. If you want to ask what happened on the show you have every right to do so. I personally can't stomach it very long but see minutes of it here and there. However I do read others' reactions to the "newscast" here. Watching people trash the phony is a guilty pleasure.
"By simpsthebadseedAuthor Profile Page on April 30, 2009 10:38 PM
"By the way, your comment was very Olbermann like. Very nice!"
Do you really think so?
After all, I simply used your argument against Mike against you.
If that doesn't sit well with you then all I can say is that's tough....
Regarding Olbermann's attack on Dr Rice tonight.
It was not about torture. It was not about Dr. Ricenot knowing history. It was not about how many stories there were in the World Trade Center. It was not any of these things.
It was about hating a black woman. It was straight up racism.
To actually answer Mike's question. Yes, he did attack O'Reilly twice. Once in bests and once in worsts, but both had to do with what he said on his web chats. The best (he was #3, if you care) was for Bill O'Reilly getting what street he was on wrong and the "Worse" award was given to him because he said that those who support universal health care should stop drinking gin, or something to the sort, I forget exactly.
Mike C's comments on KO's Fox and O'Reilly attacks just show how obsessed Olbermann is with another network and other cable hosts. Sometimes the show seems like a compilation of other people's clips. So what of Countdown is orginal work? When he's not showing other cable clips he's dping his rip and read from blogs routine. So essentially he's an editor of sorts, whatever will support his mindset that day.
Let's change the subject. Via preview images on the "Countdown" website, BOR was Worse, I couldn't make out Worser, and Rep. Foxx was Worst. Theatrical indignation and faux outrage likely returned. How dare she throw ABC News into this. Um, Keithy, why do you need to defend ABC? Don't you hate any NBC competition?

I wrote the above comment when Grammie's was still the most recent one.
Worser was Karl Rove.
To Mike C.:
Please keep doing what you've been doing. Every night when I check in not only do the strong stomach OlbyWatchers fill me in with the latest crap from MSNBC but...they save me from having to watch even a minute myself.
I'm with Mike C. You've done your part for the country.
Simpsthebadseed it's simple logic that if you don't like what Mike C. has to say then don't read his posts. And you hate Olbermannwatch.com because we felt sorry for a man-and I use that term loosely-losing his mother (For the record I was not in that camp)? I think you need a chill pill.
By the way, "weeping vagina" is about as mature (and funny) as "teabagger". Don't let the virtual door hit you in the ass on the way out.
In the open our "newsman" says "f'd up" and makes fun of Miss CAs boob job. I also noticed he told the NC congresswoman to RESIGN! I predict the ratings slide will continue so long as he keeps up all the hatred.
Mike, I think there were at least 2 BillO attack but I'm not sure. I dvr'd (gulp) and am scanning now.
I was looking at the MSNBC web site. There appears to be no way to send an email to MSNBC or to Olbermann. They used to have a feedback email. Do you suppose that they got tired of all the negative feedback and just gave up?
I vote keep Mike, dump Simpson.
I ended up watching BPitW and WPitW. The BPitW O'Reilly Attack was from yesterday's BillOReilly.com Town Hall webcast. Keith "Czechoslovakia" Olbermann had the nerve to nitpick Bill over saying at the beginning of the webcast that NBC is right across from the News Corp building where Fox is.
As for WPitW, another moment from the BillOReilly.com Town Hall was used. Fat Ass mocked O'Reilly's physical, facial, and follicle appearance. He then took a comment about universal health care out of context. When the clip ended, Keith mocked Bill's use of the phrase "the folks" and his double-barrel finger pointing.
Worser was Karl Rove. Blue blog source: Media Matters.
Then, Worst. Blue blog source: Queerty. I sense another award coming for a certain supposed "journalist."
I vote keep Mike and Simps. I do agree with Simps about the over the top sympathy for Olbermann when his mother died. I commented about it at the time, and it still confounds me how people who visit this website and understand the vile, abhorrent nature of Keith Olbermann were able to muster up so much sympathy for him.
Excellent post, ifticar!
Recapping all that drove me crazy. How does this man stay afloat with all these personal attacks that people like me take personally?
"

I vote keep Mike and Simps."
I can't agree with you on this, Johnnie, unless Simps accepts that it is not his place to personally attack others.
He also appears to have a "control" issue. What made him think that he has the right to control who says what here?
He went way over the top with his response to me. Not by disagreeing but the way he did it was insulting to both Mike and me.
I vote him off the island. :)
I always get a little suspicious when someone attacks someone else on my and others behalf, especially when the only one complaining is the one who's doing the attacking. It's reminiscent of when a politician touts a personally favored policy, plan or program for the good of "the American people."
Serious question: Is anyone interested in watching that bellicose, bombastic blob of bilge bellowing barrels of backstabbing bile?
I am more and more agreeing with you guys in priniciple about Olbermann, but I just cannot comprehend and fathom some of the hate on this site and how people can despise a man so much that they never met (at least I don't think anyone here has met Keith and know him personally) and so much so that they cannot feel a lick of compassion for him when he has a personal tragedy happen to him. Even for the television personalities and celebrities that I do not like, I'd still feel compassion for them if something horrible like that happened.
But then again, that is just me and who am I to judge other people's morals like that?
I really do not think that anyone should take Keith Olbermann as seriously as some of you do. It is your prerogative whether or not to watch him, no one is forcing you to, but again, as I said above, who am I to judge the morals of people I do not even know.
Good article over at News Busters about KO.
ABC Debunked Matthew Shepard Murder as No Hate Crime, MSNBC Savages Republican for Repeating
http://newsbusters.org/blogs/brad-wilmouth/2009/04/30/abc-debunks-matthew-shepard-murder-no-hate-crime-msnbc-savages-republ
Mike C. has every right to ask about KO's nightly attacks on O"Reilly and has earned that right with all of his nightly recaps of the tragic comedy that is "Countdown" in the past.
I also think that Simps comments were un-called for and rude and if he leaves this site...good riddance.
I can't agree with you on this, Johnnie, unless Simps accepts that it is not his place to personally attack others. He also appears to have a "control" issue. What made him think that he has the right to control who says what here?...Grammie
I think we have ALL been attacked one way or another on here mostly by the few from the left who do come on here (no names), but at times even by people who seem to be on the right. I remember being told to leave the site simply because I wasn't in agreement with showing any sympathy for the loss of the ape rulers mother.
I also remember many people getting offended by certain words that were used to describe the ape ruler, and they told the bearer of those words to stop. Basically, they said not to use those words anymore.
So, it's not that easy to say "don't" without doing the same thing ourselves.
MikeC does more for this site than most people for sure, but when a newcomer comes on it's not surprising to see him questioning why a guy would ask what went on with the olbermann show without knowing the nuances behind why Mike asks. Now he knows, and also probably knows from all the favorable responses, that Mike C is one of the nicest guys you'd ever want to meet on a faceless blog. One of the most accurate blogger's too.
Oh sheesh, I think there's a tear forming now. Shit!
I take it that we are like a family here, and even with a family there will be disputes, but when all is said and done we do stick together.
And as far as the post below, I couldn't agree more.

I just don't think it's a good idea to follow the Olby creed and silence all those that don't fall in line. I respect Mike and Grammie, as I'm sure most or all of us do, and I don't like that they feel insulted. I really don't think that was Simp's intention when all this started, but I think it spiraled out of control quickly. I don't feel comfortable speaking for Simp, though, so I'll just say I hope he continues to contribute.
Thanks, Wolverine - Another sensible, articulate post. Aw, geez, now I need a hanky, too.
I liked it, too, Wolverine. Thank you very much, especially for compilmenting me on my accuracy. :)
Johnnie and Wolf, I understand both your points quite well and would totally agree with you both if a difference of opinion was what we had here. It is not, though. It is whether Simp can keep keep a civil tongue in his head and not assume that he is the camp director.
Actually, none of us can really control who comments here, thank goodness.
I'm also sure that it would take a great great deal more by Simp to be kicked off by Bob.
That being said I just don't take kindly to this type of behavior from a little twerp like Simp:
"Okay, "Grammie???", then why don't you recap the show for him? Then turn around, change his diaper, give him his bottle, and sing him to sleep. He'll never learn until he does it on his own."
If he ever cares to make an actual legitimate comment and mind his manners better I'll be fine with him.
What's the new video have?
Thank you very much, especially for compilmenting me on my accuracy. :)...MikeC
Oh, so you're saying you're not a nice guy? Only kidding, and I would have left with leaving one of those smiling signs, but the boys from the old 'hood would never let me live it down. Good guy first Mike and second with the accuracy to me.
And Grammie, maybe with all his question marks after your name he didn't know you really ARE a grammie. I think we have all gotten so used to the nice talk on here since the days of Flocker that when we hear something like what you pointed out it sounds ruder than it really is. You're much tougher than that for sure, and one I wouldn't ever want to mees with.
Actually, in a few years I'll be around that age where I may need a diaper change, but as long as the bottle is Jack Daniels, and if Eva Mendez is doing the singing I would look forward to it!
I love ya Grammie...
Just a few last thoughts before I toddle off to bed.
First, I'm a girl so getting the last word is my just due, right?
Second, my diaper changing days are over until I get some great grand kids (which will be within the realm of possibility in a few years.
Third, thanks for the kind words. I noticed all the ??? and didn't know what to make of it. Compared to Flucker et al Simp isn't so bad but it does stand out like a sore thumb.
Sleep tight, all. :)
Guys,
I just want to say that anyone who leaves a recap of any sort is doing a huge service for people like me.
As I've mentioned in the past, I cannot tolerate Olbermann except in very limited doses. I personally believe there is a moral imperative for level-minded individuals to monitor, analyze, and report dangerous and fascist thought. That is how I originally came across this website when Cox and J$ were providing daily recaps of the sludge coming at 8PM from MSNBC.
After all, the start of each and every thread is actually a "call to recappers". Duh....it's not rocket science.
I cannot even fathom from where simpsthebadseeds' dark and nonsensical comments are originating? Strange. Please go away if you expect that kind of nasty attitude to continue.
To anyone who has the stomach, please recap whatever and whenever fits your fancy.
Cee's work is especially exemplary....as was A4700's comments from a few months ago.
There are others...so please carry on......
This website is too important.
"I take it that we are like a family here, and even with a family there will be disputes, but when all is said and done we do stick together."-Uncle Wolverine
All us dirty ol' uncles are more bark than bite, and even though we're always looking for kissin' cousins and like to tease each other, when a bully enters our midst, we really don't care who agrees with us or not we're going to straighten the bully out, one way or another.
You have my vote, Ramjet.
BTW, a month or so ago I read a comment here by you and thought 'Wow, that sounds just like Vstol'.
Under any name you are a welcome addition.
All us dirty ol' uncles are more bark than bite, and even though we're always looking for kissin' cousins and like to tease each other, when a bully enters our midst, we really don't care who agrees with us or not we're going to straighten the bully out, one way or another....ramjet
I should have clarified that the new guy was a second cousin, and may have felt right at home the instant he entered our "house." I actually believe most of the replies towards him were tame, compared to what I got the second I entered the house. Although, at that time it was the most dysfunctional abode I had ever been in before. Thank God Bob through out all the psycho's (save a few) and we're back to one big happy family again.
"Uncle Wolverine" has a nice ring to it. Yeah, I like it! Now all we have to do in this "functional" home of ours is find Lilly, Herman, Eddie and Grampa to make sure the second cousin doesn't get out of hand again.
That is "threw" out and not "through" but I'm sure you all knew that, but if A N O N Y M O U S is still reading I didn't want him to have a cardiac!
Wolverine, did you know that he crashed J$P under various names as is his wont to crash and burn everything he can.
If he is still there it is a quick sneak in and out and his manner is so changed no one can recognize him.
Then there is Patsy. He is doing his best to attack from other sites. It is pathtetic that a grown man can go to such lengths to attack people that he only knows as words on a blog.
Ram-troyer-jet--
Who's this vstol person? It sounds like you're paying me a compliment for "sound"ing like him in a comment. I appreciate the kind words and I should check this vstol out. No greater praise than Grammie kudos.
President Obama leaked to The New York Times last night that he is considering reneging on his promise as a candidate not to rely on the military commisson system to take care of the terrorists being held at GITMO.
http://www.nytimes.com/2009/05/02/us/politics/02gitmo.html?_r=3&hp
Nice. The cynical ploy of trying to get the news out quietly that he is prepared to break a campain promise is not the change he promised.
Perhaps the closure of GITMO will be the next casualty of the inexperienced Obama having to actually take responsibility as a leader....The mixed messages to all, including enemies of freedom, cannot be underestimated.
The church of SNOBamessiah, especially the Reverand Olbermann, should be upset that the detainees are not going to be put into the American legal system....Will they finally start holding the one to his campaign promises?
Doubtful.
I'll ask a variation of the anti-America left's favorite question, "What does relying on the same system Bush instituted say about President Obama?"
VERO POSSUMUS!
It continues to be amateur hour at The White House!......

The Obama administration, promising a new era of competance and transparency!....Suuuuure.
Secret CIA memos for all the world to see on the internet. I wonder what's happening that we don't know about?
From Air Force One photo-ops to this....The church of SNOBamessiah better get its act together.
Will anyone be WORST PERSON IN THE WORLD for this gaffe?
VERO POSSUMUS!
I still cannot let rest the Musto interview Thursday. The MSNBC transcript is forever displayed documenting the hateful, sexist, downright Taliban-like mindset that passes for tolerance on the left.
"OLBERMANN: After going rogue at the Miss USA Pageant, Miss California Carrie Prejean was enjoying her new title as self-appointed champion of opposite marriage. Pageant officials are now retaliating. They've outed her for having breast implants. Our number one story, Miss California now being accused of using performance enhancers.
[...]
"OLBERMANN: There it is there, Miss California is opposed to same-sex marriage, which is at least marriage between two human beings, but she has fully endorsed now marriage between a man and a woman who is partially made out of plastic.
"MUSTO: She is dumb and twisted. She's sort of like a human Barbie Doll. You tell Perez Hilton you are against gay marriage. That's like telling Simon Cowell you're against screeching a show tune. This is the kind of girl who sits on the TV and watches the sofa. You know, she thinks innuendo is a Italian suppository.
"Can I keep going? On the pageants now, they really should have easier questions, like what is your middle name or what show was Seinfeld on. This girl is a ding-dong. I didn't even like her earrings.
"OLBERMANN: The cruelest cut of all. The outcomes here, too; Perez Hilton looks like an intellectual titan and some sort of civil rights leader. And the new poster girl against same-sex marriage is not just a boob, but a fake boob. This is a real win for this cause, is it not?
"MUSTO: Perez is the new me, let‘s leave him alone. And using the C word is something I would do. But yes, Carrie Prejean, however you say it, she is getting something off her chest. But what she really needs to get off is the price tag there. In the meantime, she's ratcheting up so much sympathy for the gay movement, she might as well be a paid spokeswoman for her. I'd say dethrone her, but we couldn't even get rid of Bush, couldn‘t impeach him for international war crimes. We are supposed to get rid of an beauty contestant for having falsies and an opinion?
"Let her deflate, as it were, and just let her keep going. Eventually, she'll just be looking for a husband who only wants the virgin in the world with breast implants.
"OLBERMANN: The morale in this is what, never cross a beauty pageant official who knows you have implants?
"MUSTO: Yes, exactly, that's it. This has escalated to a public shaving. What Kokler has left out, Keith, is they also paid for Carrie to cut off her penis, and sand her Adam's Apple and get a head to toe waxing. I know for a fact that Carrie Prejean was Harry Prejean, a homophobic man, who liked marriage so much, he did it three times. Now he's a babe who needs a brain implant. Maybe they could inject some fat from her butt. Oh, they have?
"OLBERMANN: Kind of lost in this, Michael, this claim by Shanna Mokler, who herself was Miss USA, was in 'Playboy,' that implants are commonplace in pageants. I mean, Congress went crazy over artificial performance enhancements in baseball. Should there not be Congressional hearings into this, as well?
"MUSTO: Wait, you are telling me a lot of beauty contestants are fake?
"Oh, next, you‘re going to tell me their personalities are artificial, too. Yes, I think there should be Congressional hearings into this. Congress should wash their hands with Purell, get together in a big enclosed room, and decide how all this is like baseball. When I look at Carrie Prejean, I think of basketball, don't you?
"OLBERMANN: Maybe—maybe softball. You said personality, personality—there is no personality in this, is there, in these pageants?
"MUSTO: No, I said a brain implant. There‘s no talent. There's no personality. There‘s just parading down the runway like a ding dong, trying to cure cancer and find the right handbag to match her navel. It‘s so obsolete, it has to be stopped. But I watch it every year.
"OLBERMANN: There it is, your guilty pleasure. The one and only Michael Musto of the 'Village Voice,' as always, good to talk to you, Michael.
"MUSTO: Thank you.
"OLBERMANN: That's COUNTDOWN for this the 2,182nd day since the previous president declared mission accomplished in Iraq. I'm Keith Olbermann, good night and good luck."

That's all folks. Personal beliefs derided, people smeared and hate promoted on a main stream news cable outlet. Unapologetic, uncontrolled hate.
Any complaints directed at the hosts, guests or content of FOX NEWS must be compared to this event. Keep it handy, folks, because you will be able to determine the intellectual honesty and motives of anyone based on their opinion of the above exchange.....It is the worst.....ever. The close second?....Garofalo's tirade, however the specific nature and sexism is easily seen in the Musto segment.
Keep them both at the ready when anyone even thinks to hold MSNBC, or NBC NEWS, in high esteem.
Cee, the only outrage that equals this one was about the Bush twins and their Mother, the First Lady.
It's long but worth at least a glance:
By Janet Hawkins on February 10, 2008 4:21 PM
Someone at OW brought up KO and his comments about Jenna Bush on Dec 5.. So I googled the two and came across this transcript from MSNBC. It is very long but completely relevant to KO.
From: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15952042/
In his leering salacious best KO brought up the last item in his 'countdown of the day's top news stories'.
"How to get out of another mess. Not just another male pill, but a male pill that restores fertility within a day and can claim no sperm were killed during the making of this pill.
This is not a segue, but were the Bush twins asked to leave Argentina? And what about these twins in best friendship? The battle to be America‘s bad girls analyzed, as only he can do it, by TV personality and presidential historian Mo Rocca."
He starts the story:
"OLBERMANN: It‘s rare when the world of politics and the world of entertainment fit together as neatly as they do in our number one story in the COUNTDOWN tonight. A tale of two pairs of girls, all of them in their mid 20‘s, all of them famous, all of them providing rich fodder for the tabloids with their latest exploits. In a moment the phenomenon of Paris Hilton and her new sidekick, Britney Spears.
But first Jenna and Barbara Bush. They have regained their party girl crowns thanks to reports from their 25th birthday celebrations in Argentina this weekend. After reports of lack security, a media frenzy and at least one lurid tale in the Argentine papers about the girls running naked down a hallway of their hotel, denied fervently by that hotel, by the way, ABC News reported the situation was so bad that the U.S. embassy asked the girls to leave, which the embassy fervently denies, by the way.
But even though the twins were meant to stay in Buenos Aires until Thursday, according to ABC News at least one, Barbara, is already back in the U.S. and that report, very flimsily backed up by the website Galkers Tip Line For Celebrity Spotting, GalkerStalker, which reports that Ms. Bush was seen with an unnamed man eating Oysters in the west village of New York City last night. No word on whether Jenna Bush is likewise cutting her holiday short or having oysters.
Perhaps she is heading to southern California where the ultimate party girls are now hanging out. Somehow, since she announced her impending divorce from Kevin Federline, Britney Spears has become B.F.F. with Paris Hilton, and yes, with the less hip, that is short hand for Best Friends Forever, they tell me. Hilton and Spears have been inseparable for weeks now, spotted at trendy nightclubs in Vegas and L.A., drinking, smoking, staying out all nigh, and apparently even making peace with Hilton‘s nemesis, the actress Lindsay Lohan.
Paris Hilton‘s P.R. guy says that the whole—what would the couple name here be? Parispears, Britris, anyway, he says, the friendship is real, telling the website TMZ.com that the two are like sisters and that Spears is extremely grateful for Hilton‘s friendship, that she considers the heiress to be a role model, which might explain Ms. Spears‘ new wardrobe, extreme cleavage, short skirts, underwear optional.
On that note, who better to analyze this strange confluence of girls behaving badly than television personality and author of “All the President‘s Pets,” Mo Rocca. Good evening Mo, thanks for your time."
As if that wasn't enough slime for KO, he and MR go on together:
"MO ROCCA, TELEVISION PERSONALITY: Good evening Keith, thank you.
OLBERMANN: We‘ll get to the new BFFs in a moment, but let‘s start with the first twins and this rampage through Argentina. You have met the Bush daughters and you know your White Houses. Are these the kind of women who would do things like run around in a hotel naked?
ROCCA: No, certainly not. Look, we have to remember the expression running around in a hotel naked in Argentina is an example of magical realism, a technique that‘s common in Argentinean literature and journalism. The translation here is they were running around topless. It is simply that. The same press account said that Jenna, the blonde one, was so beautiful that she exploded into flames of fire. Now, granted they were drinking a lot, so they were highly flammable perhaps, but this is hyperbole.
OLBERMANN: The embassy, the U.S. embassy has denied that anybody asked the twins to leave Argentina, but given that Barbara Bush has already been spotted back in the U.S., does that mean someone pulled the rug out from under the party? I mean, if not the Secret Service, then maybe their dad. Or is he blaming their behavior on al Qaeda in Iraq, or what?
ROCCA: Well, no, it‘s true that Barbara, the brunette, has already been extradited. So once Jenna comes home the pullout from Argentina will be complete. The president is blaming, actually, Argentina‘s Democracy, because the former Peron regime, of course, was much more red-state friendly. They would have embraced the Bush twins and not let them go home, actually. You know, I would say that—let me also clarify that this sighting you‘re talking about on Galker, it did say, and I have it right here, that Barbara Bush was sucking down oysters and making out with some guy. This is actually in reference to former first lady Barbara Bush. Right, and we should remember that oysters, of course, are an aphrodisiac, especially after a couple of vodka stingers.
OLBERMANN: I don‘t have anything to say after that. No, in touch with Argentina, do we get the Falklands. Is there any kind of trade here?
ROCCA: Perhaps that would be great, I love that. That‘s great.
Argentina has great food. We should all make a trip down there.
OLBERMANN: One more on this thing here. Is the solution for the White House in dealing with the P.R. fallout from the first daughters‘ antics, keep them in Crawford until January of 2009?
ROCCA: Well, I have one recommendation, a one word recommendation, Broadway. As you said, I have met the Bush twins. They are both actually very, very nice. The blonde one, Jenna, is bubbly. She has an easy laugh. The brunette, Barbara, is a little bit more serious, a little bit brooding, I would say. And so it occurred to me that they would be great in a Broadway production of Wicked, the two of them together.
Jenna as the blond, sort of the good witch Glinda (ph), and Barbara as the brooding Elphaba (ph), who becomes the Wicked Witch of the West, but of course is not all bad. Because they have very, very complicated lives. And it‘s a very popular musical, so it would run forever, and it would keep them out of trouble, except on Monday‘s when the theater‘s dark and then they could go ballistic, go nuts.
OLBERMANN: There is a tradeoff for the matinees on the weekends. Turning to these other girls gone wild. Did Britney Spears trade up or trade down by swapping Kevin Federline for her new pal Paris Hilton?
ROCCA: Well I think neither. I think she traded dangerously. I mean, I think that this is a troubling alliance, if you will. It is a non-aggression pack between these two major powers. And I think a lot of people are comparing it really to the fast friendship between Iraq‘s al-Maliki and Iran‘s Ahmadinejad. Now what you have is Britney‘s Iraq seeking guidance and protection from Paris‘s Iran. And it seems to make sense. They are both, well, Shiite, as in blonde in this case.
But this has the potential to really upset the whole balance of young Hollywood here. You have got the Nicole Richie insurgency, which is really going to be aggravated. You‘ve got K-Fed and the Kurds. Who knows what they are going to do in Turkey. Lindsay Lohan in Syria and then Mary Kate and Ashley, who, of course, sort of are surrogates for the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. It‘s a pretty dangerous situation right here.
So I would be very careful moving ahead. Paris has clearly much grander motives here. I think she wanted to dominate the TMZ, if you will. I mean, I think she wants to co-op and eventually destroy Britney.
OLBERMANN: I‘d like to point out for the record that you have gotten away with the phrase, Britney‘s Iraq. And on that note, television personality Mo Rocca, and somehow the title of your book, “All the President‘s Pets.”
ROCCA: And by the way, not wearing underwear and flashing your crotch is strictly against Islamic law.
OLBERMANN: Thank you. The “All the President‘s Pets” title seems to have taken on new meaning as we were told on our visit tonight. Thank you sir, always a pleasure.
That‘s COUNTDOWN for this the 1,305th day since the declaration of mission accomplished in Iraq. Reporting from Los Angeles, I‘m Keith Olbermann, good night and good luck."
I think David Shuster was waaaaay out of line with his choice of words but not the idea that he meant. He has been suspended, almost fired and maybe still will be fired. I think the suspension is in order if nothing else but to make him act professionally about and towards everyone, not just Dems and Chelsea Clinton.
This by KO about Repubs/Bush twins slipped on by with no protest at all. This by KO and MR was not just one phrase out of an hour such as Shuster got hung by. This was a long, and probably scripted to one degree or another, segment that is nothing more than a very soft pornographic hit piece on a sitting President and his daughters.
