I think Bill-O made Worstest for his Watter attacks, I dunno i wasn't really watching. Also WTF, Michael Steele. Yeah who didn't see that one coming.
It was worse--or Worst--than that, Lafinman. Blue blog source: Think Propaganda. All I can say is who is the jerk that became a BillOReilly.com premium member just to hijack his Post-Game Shows? The moment they stole, and Man on Fan ripped and played in lieu of Ted Baxter dramatization, was from last Wednesday's O'Reilly Factor Post-Game Show. Bill was talking about the Policing the 'Net segment with Amanda Carpenter. The first half was about how the blogosphere reacted to Wanda Sykes at the White House Correspondents' Dinner (or "nerdprom" as it's been called on the 'net). The second half was this:
"Carpenter also commented on a woman whose former boyfriend posted explicit photos of her, which Yahoo! refused to take down. "The ex-boyfriend actually created an on-line profile, impersonated her, and put up her home address and phone number. She tried to sue Yahoo! but lost." The Factor groused about the growing encroachment on privacy. "Americans should know that we don't have any protections at all, our privacy is gone. Cyberspace has taken it away.""
Bill expanded on that in the Post-Game Show. Ryan Powers at TP equated Bill's stance on this matter with ambush interviews that "The Factor" is known for. When "7 On Your Side" does it on "Eyewitness News" (WABC-TV), it's irrelevant, but when "The Factor" does it, it's inhuman! It's stalking! It's intruding on the lives of private citizens! Did I mention that there is a difference between holding bad guys accountable and what paparazzi and other creeps do? As John Stossel would say, "give me a break!" You can't compare the two...except on OlbyPlanet and among his blue blog brethren.
Here's how it went down: Skeezix! [Ding!] "World record for short-distance hypocrisy [Ding!]."
Stop the video player! Time for me to transcribe the original version of the Post-Game Show with asterisks indicating what made it to air. "*Policing the 'Net. Now, the reason I keep doing this privacy stuff is...trying to protect you. Somewhere along the line in your life--believe me, it's happened to me--somebody's gonna come up, start snipping pictures of you.* [Out-of-context ambush montage spliced in here.] *You know, if you can, avoid them. You know, nothing good in this high-tech age...comes out of anybody intruding...on you in that way.* [Another out-of-context ambush montage spliced in.] Photographs of the family, friends, where you know exactly what's happening, but if you get blasted, if you get drunk or something like that, somebody takes your picture...believe me, it's gonna show up someplace. So...and there's nothing you can do. You know, those internet companies...for whatever reason...courts are protecting 'em. *Now, you might be able to go after the people who took the picture, posted it, it's a long slog. And it ain't gonna diminish the embarrassment.* [Another out-of-context ambush montage spliced in.] *So, I just want everybody to know...privacy...in America...gone.* [Final out-of-context ambush montage spliced in here.] *Technology means we don't have any privacy at all. It's a shame.*" Then, on to critiquing the next segment.
Having completed the false moral equivalence, we dissolved back to Harold Hillbermann who said: "And it's your fault. According to Think Progress.com..." Wow, even when he acknowledges his source he can't identify them correctly. It's .org. Reading off a gotcha paper, he cotinued, "...he has now sent his stalker producers [Ding!] out to ambush 40 different people while trying to protect your privacy. But revenge often comes swiftly and from some odd places." Then, he reread the "somewhere along the line" part in the Ted Baxter voice. "Friday night at Yankee Stadium in New York, on the 100-foot line high-definition screen on the scoreboard, a shot of Donald Trump sitting in the crowd. He got some mild booing. Then, they showed the guy next to him. Skeezix [Ding!]! Wild, sustained booing! Appropriate for today's Worst...Person..."
You guys saw the game. Did he really get booed?
Time for another recap sabbatical for me. I could have gotten so much done in the time it took for me to recap this cretin.
According to ESPN Fanhouse they did jeer:
****** For those scoring at home, it should be noted that Yankee fans are savvy boo birds. When pictures of Donald Trump's coiffed head flashed on the big screen, the fans jeered. When the vision of Trump's seatmate Bill O'Reilly appeared, the fans really jeered. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, sitting in a skybox, was twice loudly cheered, while actress Kate Hudson got razzed when the camera caught her chomping on gum. *********
Of course you have to remember that NYC is filled with left leaning Marxists.
For the sake of science they should show Olbermann on the Jumbotron and see how the crowd reacts. Obviously he's jealous of Bill....again....and hopes he gets his turn so he can see just how many Countdown viewers are in the crowd.
A little laugh:
http://iowntheworld.com/blog/?page_id=383
Olby is either obsessed with BOR or he has a huge man crush on him. The jealousy has reached new heights. Olby's last sanctuary was Yankee Stadium. Now that BOR and Trump were on the big screen and Olby is reduced to forcing "friends" and "viewers" to pose with him in photos, it has sent him over the top. After hearing the news of O'Reilly, Olby went straight to the tub and wept. "Oh why, why won't they put me on the big screen at Yankee Stadium?" "That's it, Bill-O is gonna be WPITW...(sobbing)...it's just not fair, not fair at all".
wow...starting getting Countdown via satellite in early Feb. and have been fascinated and appropriately appalled by the hypocrisy ever since! I cannot believe that the big orange faced faker is still bringing up his self-serving "charitable" offer on the Hannity thing. Who attaches strings to charity? What kind of person would offer to pay cash so they can do something they are so morally opposed to? I believe it's 29 days running now that this morally corrupt bully reminds his viewers of what he is truly made of.
Really appreciate your site, as being in Canada, I don't know anyone else that watches Countdown. (Don't think I am boosting his sinking ratings - so perhaps I can enjoy his pathetic ramblings guilt-free!)
Olbermahn's a sniveling twit
And dense as a new catchers mitt
Is he too dumb to know
Folks hate him and his show?
If they Jumbotron'ed Keith he'd get lit
The booing at Yankee Stadium is a reflection on those deciding to waste their energy responding to an image on a big TV. The person on the screen can know that those using the occasion to voice their "opinion" in a boo about them, without rational discussion or debate, should know there are even more people in the stadium not even paying attention to the image while some sit silent in embarassment for their fellow fan's childish behavior.
I have been at some Yankees games and was amazed at the reaction of some fans (probably the same ones who booed O'Reilly)to other images....like a child wearing a Boston Red Sox hat (cursing, booing, threats), a young woman wearing a NY Mets jersey with "WRIGHT" on the back (same but add some disgusting sexual display) or a family that cheers a good play from any player who is not wearing pinstripes (some fans even claim the ability to judge who should be in "their" stadium!).
Although I have seen alcohol as a factor in the audible responses, I also think some people, like Olbermann, are simply hateful and spiteful people prepared to take down anyone they deem derserving at any moment (what a talent and way to live!).
Dick Cheney received some boos in 2004 while our wonderful armed forces were defending freedom in Afghanistan and Iraq.....Joe Torre was the antithesis to such stupidity when he summed up his feelings about meeting our nation's Vice President in the locker room:
"It's great any time a dignitary like that visits. It slaps you with pride."
The sad part about the booing was that the people doing it tried to drown out GOD BLESS AMERICA, which was being sung as Cheney's image graced the screen......Some people, like Olbermann, have little humanity and display no decency.
VERO POSSUMUS! WTF?
The big cities are the foundation for ultra-liberal thinking. So it's no surprise that they booed Bill. But they like to boo many diffrent individulas as was already suggested by cee. And remember Philly is known as the home of booing Santa Claus.
But thus got me thinking. How many of Olby's viewers (as few as there are these days......yes, there is a God!!) are not in or around the big cities? I'd guess very few.

###
I agree. In his mind, Olbermann's audience are of the cosmopolitan erudite class while FNC gets everyone else.....
Remember Garofalo neatly summed up "everyone else" in two words......
racist rednecks.
It is interesting how those smart people boo at a stadium's big electronic screens like Pavlov's dog....So vestigial!
WOW! Herr orangemann ended the week with only 906,000 total viewers on Fri. at 8pm. He averaged about only 1M for the whole week. WTF!? People are saying NO to olby's hate, slander, and lies.
Great job OW!
As a Red Sox fan, I'm fully aware of the class (or lack thereof) of Yankee fans, though lately Boston isn't much better. Sitting in the bleacher seats of the old Yankee Stadium was basically an open invitation to get ripped. There was no drinking allowed there so the next bast thing was to get loaded before the game. Imagine the possibilities. My father and I clapped for Pedro Martinez once and this guy behind us called for security to throw us out. Another time a family of four from San Diego had to leave in the sixth because some drunk was doing stuff Cee was mentioning before.
Qpublic don't inject politics into Yankee Stadium. Those people would boo the Pope, the Dalai Lama, Capt. Sullenberger, Capt. Phillips, their own mothers, Olbermann...oh wait! Olbermann's not even important enough to put on the jumbo screen! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Oops. Sy Hersh never said Cheney created death squads:
http://tiny.cc/F89QC
“This is another example of blogs going bonkers with misleading and fabricated stories and professional journalists repeating such rumours without doing their job – and that is to verify such rumours.” -- Sy Hersh.
"While we're at it we're going to close Guantanamo. And we're going to restore habeas corpus. … We're going to lead by example - by not just word but by deed. That's our vision for the future."
Candidate Obama June 2007......Tough words from a candidate that never displayed the ability to do such tough things.
Now?....He's not able to do the tough thing he promised.
Democrats concede on Guantanamo Bay

Olbermann used to demogogue this little ditty for hours back in 2006, 2007, 2008.....Now, there's hardly a mention.
Just like he hardly mentioned Obama's flip-flop on the tribunals that have also been a radical left shame tune. Just like Olbermann glossed over the Obama flip-flop on releasing Bush era pictures of prisoner abuse.
Hypocrisy....Obama can continue the same Bush era policies regarding the war on terror but they are now not evil, terrorist producing or only in place to enrich Haliburton and other friends of Bush/Cheney Co.
Remember, Obama is being practical! Mr. Spock can be trusted.
Heroes and villians, tonight on COUNTDOWN.
Olbermann is a leftist shill.
VERO POSSUMUS! WTF?
I love this! Olbermann, actually initiating a popularity contest with a real journalist, who has three to four times his viewership, and not to mention O'reilly's station doesn't have a single show with less viewers than the primetime "Countdown."
He doesn't use the ratings, the numbers, the real statistics he claims to constantly attend too, he uses his personal volume meter to inform the few people out there watching him that a bunch of boos makes him unpopular.
HA!
Looks like Hersh is pulling an Obama on his assasination ring story. First he says there was a death squad (which was broadcast loudly on the Propaganda Hour,) then he says the blogs misquoted him (see hailstate's above post,) now here's what Hersh really said:
"It’s [the "assasination ring] been going in—under President Bush’s authority, they’ve been going into countries, not talking to the ambassador or to the CIA station chief, and finding people on a list and executing them and leaving."

Hersh=far-leftwing kook
Hersh=far-leftwing kook....
Hense, his visit to COUNTDOWN several weeks ago.
On another subject, I REEEALLY hope that will be the last time that picture of the radical intolerant religious left's spokesperson on gay marriage will adorn a thread....The pink hair, tighty-pinkies and house slippers really are just too much for this site.
I hope the only common physical characterisitc Hilton and Olbermann share are the man boobs.
VERO POSSUMUS! WTF?
And check out this line from a recent story Keith posted in the DailyKos:
"Thirdly, and I'm not saying this or anything like this is a good idea, but in July I will observe my 30th anniversary in tv and radio (and a lot of print on the side) and not since little Cap Cities Broadcasting bought big ABC, have I been as stunned as I was three weeks ago when the NewsCorp quarterly figures came out."
Go to the Kos to read the whole story, it has nothing to do with him, this was randomly inserted in there like a child writing a paper about what he wants for Christmas, and who can't forget to tell Santa his little league team made it to the finals over the summer.
Still, Keith claims to be free of political bias, still! And if you try to post a conservative syllable on the DailyKos, you're booted for being a troll. However, this diminishing group of Bush Haters is all Keith has left, I doubt even some of them can stand to stomach his show, with is repeatedly absurd distortions and lack of intelligent presence.
Keith, the news has nothing to do with the person telling it, so hold on for the dreadful decline downward as you disappear into nothing, and your legacy is only a fraction of that of the Bush administration. You should have learned a long time ago that this business is not for the weak or ignorant seeking fame, it's for people like Bill O'reilly who can share a rational thought without prevoking a politically biased thought. Guys like Bill who have the stomach to constantly overlook your petty attempts to smear him. Has he ever mentioned your name? Will he? Why? You wanna know why?
Becuase Bill O'reilly is better than you...
WTF's friends David Cross and Jason Bateman must have taught WTF a new word to call O'Reilly; " Skeezix". No doubt WTF will over-use it to the point of ad nauseum. What or Who exactly is a "Skeezix"? See the link below. Boring, actually, and not funny.
I calls 'em as i sees 'em, and O'Reilly complaining about "cameras clicking" and "invasion of privacy in this modern age" is a complete joke. He deserves being ridiculed for it. Bonehead.
Skeezix:

Will the following lie be covered by the church of SNOBamessiah revival hour tonight?.......
"TAPPER: What do you say to consumers, who are concerned about the fact that cars will cost more up front and that perhaps they won't be as safe?
"GIBBS: Well, the safety arguments have been dealt with for a very, very long time. And I don't think they have a lot of credence."

Oh dear, where to start about the safety of higher efficiency vehicles?....How about the normally CREDABLE National Academy of Sciences:

You see, there are facts about what CAFE standards do to both COSTS and SAFETY and they are not part of the Obama propaganda.
VERO POSSUMUS! WTF?
Olbermann's feverish and breathless coverage of the GQ article seems to have some follow-up information I am sure he will not cover in fairness or objectivity.....
"The slides in the 'World Intelligence Update' were prepared on a daily basis by military personnel serving on the Joint Staff, which reported to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, not the Secretary of Defense. The report was briefed regularly to senior military officials in the Pentagon – only occasionally to the Secretary of Defense and not to the President of the United States.
"Rumsfeld was fully aware that words and actions could be harmful and counterproductive to the war effort. It’s safe to say that some of these cover slides could be considered in that category. The suggestion that Rumsfeld would have composed, approved of, or personally shown the slides to President Bush is flat wrong. It did not happen.
"Given that Draper used anonymous sources for this charge as well as for the rest of the innuendo in his piece, one would think he might have at least done a cursory review of the facts. He might then have avoided being taken by people with an axe grind. When Draper goes back and checks reality against his reporting, he might also check whether GQ is in need of a new gossip columnist."
Keith Urbahn, aide to former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld

Mmmm, the other side of the story regarding "CHRISTIAN SOLDIERS." That anti-American radical leftist stale meme of "it was all a crusade" cannot tolerate an alternative side.....OR FACTS, for that matter.
The inflammatory images and scriptures serve their purpose for the propaganda to mold and manipulate history....that is all Olbermann is after, anyway.
Too bad his audience is so small that it won't make a big impact.
He said, he said....this passes for journalism at NBC NEWS. What quality.
VERO POSSUMUS! WTF?
Dan, do you really mean what you said about Bill? There's a difference between ambush journalism and paparazzi, trolls, hackers, ex-partners (boyfriend/girlfriend), etc., as I said earlier in the thread.
Meanwhile, Monday's ratings are out. The good news for Skeebermann is he came in second in total viewers and the 25-54 at 8PM, and total viewers only at 10PM. The bad news is not only did he lose to Bill and Greta, but he came in fourth in the 25-54 demo at 10PM.
I liked what you wrote, Ryder20.
Mike, yes I meant it. Although there is a difference, to some degree, in the various forms of intrusions you cited, I don't respect those ambush jobs O'Reilly does. Now if Mr Bill HIMSELF did the ambush ( as he did with candidate Obama), I'd be far more impressed.
P.S. LOL @ Skeeberman.
Observer Dan I disagree with ambush journalism as well but I see the need for it. I believe O'Reilly when he says he tries to get these people on the show mainly because if they were it would provide better ratings than an ambush. People like Amanda Terkel (who just came to mind after seeing her on Fox News) who can piss on rape victims via a blog but have no stones to show up to defend herself need to be confronted so you can decide if she's a moron or not.
As for the paparazzi, they've basically become legitimate stalkers. To steal a line from Ricky Gervais in GTA IV: "Why are you taking photos of her naked? Oh, it's ok, you work for a newspaper!"
This is off topic, but I just watched Michael Steele's comments today on both Fox News and NBC. Guess which one did a hatchet job? Fox showed Steele trying to rally the party while NBC showed a clip of how he used "inside jokes" to attack Barney Frank, among others.
Stay classy Chuck Todd.
Re: "Skeebermann": Hey, he asked for it; had all these nicknames we dish out at OlbyWatch coming to him. :)
And I guess ambush journalism is an acquired taste. That's fine. We can't all like it. I'm sure Bill gets e-mails all the time from people that don't like them. I've even seen a few read on the air.
Every Monday Keithee's numbers look good (if you don't compare Bill's triple viewership), but as the week ends Harold Hillbermann's numbers get down-right pathetic.
Thank you, Mike C. I appreciate that coming from you.
With all honesty however, I feel as if I'm struggling. I try to find both the time and the stomach to watch Countdown, or one of it's re-airings, but I simply can't find either. Therefore, the majority of my comments will come from what is stated on this site, and what I can read online when I get a few moments during the day. Unlike the rest of Americans waiting for Obama to shake them dry after a tinkle...
I'm busy working...
(Plus I just moved and I don't have a full lineup yet, but that comes Thursday, along with MLB extra innings, it's a must when you're a Reds)
With today's Senate endorcement of GITMO, I FEEL VINDICATED defending Bush policies here all these years as eloquently summarized by a much better writer than me.....
"Except for the introduction of euphemisms and a few new ballyhooed but largely meaningless protocols, there is no longer a Bush-did-it argument. The Patriot Act, wiretaps, e-mail intercepts, military tribunals, Predator drone attacks, Iraq, Afghanistan — and now Guantánamo — are officially no longer part of the demonic Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld nexus, but apparently collective legitimate anti-terrorism measures designed to thwart killers, and by agreement, after years of observance, of great utility in keeping us safe the last eight year.
[...]
It short, all the fury, the vicious slander, the self-righteous outbursts, the impassioned speeches from the floor, the 'I accuse' op-eds by the usual moralistic pundits — ALL THAT TURNED OUT TO BE SOLELY ABOUT POLITICS, NOTHING MORE."

And so I was right about the left's garbage about Iraq.....and so I was right about Obama's sanctimony as a candidate about our nation's "morality." It was all lip service....it was all for personal power.
Tragic.
VERO POSSUMUS! WTF?
Yo, Cee, Right on, Seriously, WTF...
This quote from Cheney today is what divides him from the spineless leaders of the democrat party who once supported necessary and justified policies but noe, because of political considerations, retreat and cower with lies and distraction.....
"Right now there is considerable debate in this city about the measures our administration took to defend the American people. Today I want to set forth the strategic thinking behind our policies. I do so as one who was there every day of the Bush Administration –who supported the policies when they were made, and without hesitation would do so again in the same circumstances."
http://www.weeklystandard.com/weblogs/TWSFP/2009/05/text_of_cheneys_aei_speech.asp
###
The entire speech is an intellectually honest and straight forward presentation while Obama languishes in cliche, broken promises, sophistry and TOTUS guided, campaign-speech style imagary at the rushed pep rally at The National Archives.
Leadership versus entertainment....I am sure Olbermann's analysis will be much different.
VERO POSSUMUS! WTF?
Before I erase Monday's "O'Reilly Factor" from my DVR, I thought I'd share a few viewer e-mails from the show.
In response to last Friday's Talking Points Memo and Top Story segment:
Don Newsham, Happy Jack, AZ: "Bill, you and Beck should try vaudeville. So what if GE wants government contracts? You should buy stock and make the money along with GE."
Bill's response: "You know, some of us value honesty above money, sir. Think about it."
Phil Brainerd, Fort Lee, NJ (where CNBC is located; -MC): "A major corporation like GE manipulating information in order to make billions scares me."
Bill's response: "I'm with you, Phil."
Dave Wenthen, Syracuse, NY: "Bill, my family is deeply involved with GE and your reports are sounding one-sided. Please try harder to get GE spokespeople on the Factor."
Bill's response: "We've already visited CEO Immelt twice, sir. Both times, his security interfered with our questions. I know many good people hold GE stock, but it's a corrupt enterprise. When Immelt leaves, that might change."
Kim Trahan, Palos Verdes Estates, CA: "Bill, I am boycotting GE but Fox News is accepting their advertising. Why?"
Bill's response: "You know, I addressed that a couple of weeks ago, Kim. We believe in capitalism and free speech. We'll take their money and use it to cover the news *honestly*, [news] like what's happening at GE/NBC."
