This is the recappers' comment thread for tonight's Hour of Spin. It's up to you to document the spin and lies of Keith Teabaggermann. Be an Olbermann Watch blogger without all the muss and fuss. Comments are open!
UPDATE: Here's Oralmann's Special Education Komment in a dramatic reading by the OlbyRobot:

Can you imagine?: "Worst Persons ahead on 'Countdown.' Now, your Local on the 8s."
Keith tells Vice President Cheney that he's just a private citizen now, and that the President should be able to make speeches as he so pleases...
Aren't you the guy who told President Bush (while he was the President of the United States, and you were a private citizen) to shut the hell up?
From one private citizen to another, I would ask that when it comes to your special comments, that you shut the hell up...
But honestly Keith, who cares, nobody's listening...
Plus, Laura Ingraham is filling in for Bill O'reilly tonight, meaning, your ex-girlfriend gets her turn to kick your ass in the ratings...
I'm sure the current gal's tornado chases will get more viewers as well, that's got to hurt, always being the less well known and respected in a relationship...
She's only with him for the money and career advancement. Honestly, why else would a 25 year old woman want to be with a fat, orange-faced, 50 year old moron.
I missed WPITW.
But here's a short recap...
#5 Dick
#4 More Dick, with more Dick jokes.
#3 Obama lays it down to the Dems ( hey Keith, didn't watch the speech? Because he didn't )
WPITW, missed it, but I know BOR made it for his " I'm middle-class " comment despite the fact BOR corrected himself meaning by values and not his wealth, and Beck made it because the story won't die. Sure it won't.
#1 KO pwns Cheney, oh wait no he didn't. KO along with the left media just fell into Cheney's trap. Dicks popularity is on the rise. And the more they bash him, the better he looks ( Palin anyone ). All KO did was use a bunch a big words, blamed Cheney for more American Deaths than the Terrorists, and should just go away for the help of God.
Not even god would help such a selfish turd like Bathtub Boy.
Quite frankly, I was sick hearing Olbermann spew that venom about how Cheney is held responsible for what happened before and after 9/11. That's just so absurd on any kind of scale...period. The table was set throughout the whole program, concluding with that "special comment" aka "wtf are you talking about Olbermann."
Just as Olbermann quote Crommwell AGAIN! *That phrase is overrated at best Keith, like you...just go." I will use my own quote. Bush/Cheney, the whole adminstration is your "white whale." And YOU, Capt. Ahab are just obsessed with looking for a way, ANYWAY possible to snag the beast. Just like Ahab, it drove him to madness and it eventually killed him. Give it up bathtub boy. Rake in the money your "daughter" err girlfriend, Katy (Right) Tur will be getting from that job you set up for her at the Weather Channel.
The man has gone off the deep end and needs to go...NOW!
Good night, and good luck. (Tossing a cow chip at a photo of Olbermann)
So three out of five stories were about Dick.
Well when you're daughter is out of town chasing tornados.

Speaking of........
By looking at Katy my guess is that it's going to get hot, humid & liquid precipitation is in the forcast for the south-east tonight.
God, what a douche this guy is. He makes me wanna puke everytime i see that skunk hair of his. Nothing but contempt, disdain, and hate from the bathtub boy tonight. In other words: the olbsessed one!! The daily kos had a diary post yesterday talking about the rush challenge and if keith could do it. Even his own liberal people dont want to hear this stuff night after night. no wonder his ratings are so dismal!!
BTW, this was my first time posting here, so just want to thank everyone for having me. time to get off the lurking bench and get in the game.
He's the hack with the apricot hue
From the blue-blogs he gets his cue
Keith "Kut-n-Paste"
What a pity to waste
That Ag degree from Bovine U.
I TRIED to watch the WTF segment on Olby's website. I made it through about 1 minute and got sick to my stomach. I can't comment on it because I refuse to listen to raving lunatic blame 9/11 on the Vice President of the United State. I know I've said it before but this "man" has lost it. (Shaking my head)...how can ANYONE watch that show? He never offers solutions, constructive criticism or has a legitimate debate about topics. It's nothing but hate, hate, hate. People don't like negativity all the time. They want to believe the United States is a good, noble country (which we are). This is what Olby doesn't get...people want to see a rational debate, see opposing sides and sometimes laugh at a funny segment. This guy just spews garbage, is condescending and arrogant and he turns people off with his attitude. (Shaking my head, again)...I just don't get it.
A little story here ..
I have a friend who blast me because I watch FOX NEWS he of course watches "Bathtub didy boy" on MessNBC and my lack of wackiness if he dont adore..worship..and believe in the demeted ramblings of "Bathtub Boy'
I tried to reason with him and tell him that "Bathtub Boy" is a scam,a fraud, and not to take what he says as gospel because not only doesnt he allow different views to be voiced, but he is an irresponsible peice of dung.
But he wouldnt listen because he thinks that because I watch FOX NEWS I am brainwashed and since I dont watch "Bathtub Boy" my opinion was not accepted
So hey I look at it this way...I believe in being FAIR AND BALANCED. hearing both sides, let the people decide Something Ive always believed in and always will. then Im really proud to be a FOX NEWS Watcher because they believe in what my parents taught me, be fair and balanced and never one sided.
If only Olberman was like that he'd have a show
"bathtub Boy" needs to get a clue... HE SUCKS!!
I just watched a few minutes of his "Special Comment", and all I can say is, well, I have about as many words as there are viewers of Countdown...
Keith Olbermann made several disparaging remarks today, towards the Vice President. He made comparisons to him being a terrorist, called him childish names like stupid, and basically blamed him for any and all problems the United States has faced since the beginning of the Bush Administration having to do with foreign policy and related topics.
Thus, we have seen liberals such as Keith Olbermann, using truthless and loosely fact based arguments, to argue that someone is being, well, dishonest. It's hypocrisy that is literally being cast into the media waves with each passing syllable, every breath, and a complete and total disregard for the idea that opinions, are opinions.
When it comes to the argument of torture for example, there simply isn't an argument for liberals. There is no debate. They are incapable of such practices. And, for liberals such as Keith Olbermann, we have the constant reference to the tactics used to save American lives, as torture, and a failure to respond to the opposing use of the reference as anything but a nice way of saying it.
Make no mistake, what you are witnessing during these special comments, is nothing more than an adult form of whining, pouting, crying and bitching. Why? For the simple reason that a person he doesn't like made a speech that a lot of people are listening too, in particular, more people than will hear his grown-up form of a temper tantrum. This is all in response to a republican having to opportunity to express his point, for some reason, Keith thinks that is unfair?
If he disagrees with Cheney, that's understandable, but let's be clear here, he's not disagreeing. If so, he would have presented that in an intelligent manner last night. But, for people like Olbermann, the thought of getting in yet another cheap shot, is simply too hard to resist. Especially when Cheney made a particularly good speech, and while his poll numbers are slowly climbing. What was Keith doing? He was doing what liberals do; slandering those who they disagree with, using hypocrisy, deceit and the manipulation of the truth, often into certainties that they consider undebatable.
But as most liberals in the media, desperately hiding the fact they are liberals, often do, they will fail, miserably and combined with an ego like that of Olbermann, it will, undoubtedly follow him for the rest of his life. He will later be remembered for nothing, as Bill O'reilly is the standard in prime time cable media, and the inspiration for all others that will follow.
I can't help but laugh...
Very well said, Ryder. Thumbs up!
Well put, Ryder. And welcome aboard, olbermacht and lugnuts.
I fear, though, that Keith will be remembered for something. On the far-left, he will be remembered for speaking truth to power and being an answer to that [insert partisan insults here] O'Reilly. Elsewhere, he will be remembered for being exactly what we characterize him as here. Hopefully, "elsewhere" will win the legacy battle.
Noel Sheppard has post about Krazy Keith's Special Education Komment on NewsBusters. The post includes SEK video and partial transcript, and Cheney's full speech as aired on FNC.
Thanks Mike C. and unfortunately, I must agree. The left, I am sure will find a way to place Keith in the history books as an "honest and quality source of political discussion."
However, each day that passes, Keith fails to debate someone with an opposing position, each day he continues to constantly harp on the conservative movement and support and defend socialism and liberal policies, all while aggressively asserting his independent and fair political correctness, or lack of political bias, is yet another day he digs a deeper hole into the bowels of those forgotten in history.
So, we can talk, we can blog and we can chat about his unprofessionalism each and every day, but it is Mr. Olbermann himself, who will force his separation from the known and the unknown, from the important, and the forgotten; from the inspirational, the poweful, and the ignorant and the illegitimate.
You're welcome, Ryder.
I just came very close to watching last night's WPitW to see the O'Reilly Attack--blue blog source: Think Propaganda--but I didn't. The bigger picture was a disagreement that Bill and Laura Ingraham were having on "the mileage thing today," as he put it. Bill is for it, Laura is against it. The next thing out of Bill's mouth after the middle-class line was "I *want* 40 miles to the gallon. I think that's *good*." And so do I. But since TP hates O'Reilly for his stalking [Ding!] and harassing [Ding!] of the poor innocent Amanda Turkel, they had to spin him into a massive hypocrite [Ding!]. And who better to bang that drum than the Olbypocrite himself?
Along those lines, I made artwork in Adobe Photoshop last night from a screencap of Keith doing that Ted Baxter voice in Monday's O'Reilly Attack. I inserted a thought bubble with the caption "I love mocking Billo [Ding!] through Ted Baxter." In the bottom right corner I inserted a "Mary Tyler Moore Show" promotional headshot of Ted Knight. To the shot's left is the caption "What would Ted Knight think?" In the bottom left corner, I wrote a tagline, which reads "Keith Olbermann: Besmirching icons since 2003." Look for it in a later recappers thread.
"The mileage thing" was the CAFE standards.
Johnny added my OlbyRobot reading which I made through my speech synthesizer.
I just watched the explanation of Keith Olbermann's, in regards to waterboarding being "torture." I must say, that this is a perfect example of manipulation and deceit. If one were to pay attention to what is being said, and take into consideration the validity of the statements made (which is something liberals watching Countdown don't know how to do), then you will notice several things...
The quotes from military officials and other in regards to waterboarding, are opinions, and just that, quotes. They are not laws, or references to laws; they are not rulings or legislation, meaning they they are not more important to the discussion than Oblermann's opinion, or my own for that matter.
Secondly, his vague descriptions of three instances throughout history in which waterboarding was concluded to be a crime are completely misleading. In all three situations, he states that only waterboarding was the action involved that led to investigations, ultimately leading to convictions or court marshals. Never does he mention the details that may have also led to these convictions, such as other methods of interrogation that may be considered torture by definition, etc.
His first example, in which he sites American soldiers using the "Water Cure" in the Philippines as torture, the example he consistently uses to say that waterboarding has been considered torture for 111 years, is defined as such:
"Often the victim has the mouth forced or wedged open, the nose closed with pincers and a funnel or strip of cloth forced down the throat. The victim has to drink all the water (or other liquids such as bile or urine) poured into the funnel to avoid drowning. The stomach fills until near bursting, and is sometimes beaten until the victim vomits and the torture begins again."
Or, from the Benevolent Assimilation" The American Conquest of the Philippines:
"A man is thrown down on his back and three or four men sit or stand on his arms and legs and hold him down; and either a gun barrel or a rifle barrel or a carbine barrel or a stick as big as a belaying pin, -- that is, with an inch circumference, -- is simply thrust into his jaws and his jaws are thrust back, and, if possible, a wooden log or stone is put under his head or neck, so he can be held more firmly. In the case of very old men I have seen their teeth fall out, -- I mean when it was done a little roughly. He is simply held down and then water is poured onto his face down his throat and nose from a jar; and that is kept up until the man gives some sign or becomes unconscious. And, when he becomes unconscious, he is simply rolled aside and he is allowed to come to. In almost every case the men have been a little roughly handled. They were rolled aside rudely, so that water was expelled. A man suffers tremendously, there is no doubt about it. His sufferings must be that of a man who is drowning, but cannot drown. ..."
Of course, Olbermann fails to mention the clear distinctions between this method, such as the possible use of bile or urine, and the fact that victimes are forced to drink the fluids until they vomit, or the fact they are tortured until unconcious, and beaten during the process, often stood upon. He is clearly misleading his audience.
His second example, which was the use of this tactic by the Japanese is described generally in this regard, from the book "Judgement of the International Military Tribunal for the Far East (1948). Part B, Chapter VIII, p. 1059."
"The so-called 'water treatment' was commonly used. The victim was bound or otherwise secured in a prone position; and water was forced through his mouth and nostrils into his lungs and stomach until he lost consciousness. Pressure was then applied, sometimes by jumping upon his abdomen to force the water out. The usual practice was to revive the victim and successively repeat the process."
Again, this is much more agressive than what Keith is referring to from the Bush Administration. We have certain details, such as jumping on the abdomen, and water being forced into the lungs and stomach, that are what we are talking about present day.
As far as the Texas sheriff and his deputies, any person with a brain will know that these men were convicted of conspiracy to force confessions, which is breaking the law clearly. Although their methods were similar to waterboarding, they were not convicted of waterboarding, and it was not deemed torture at the time, by anyone. Therefore, it has no bearing on this argument.
We can go on and on all night about Keith Olbermann's misleadings, but these are a few giant holes in his argument. Let's ask Keith; Bill O'reilly has support like yours for something, he usually brings on a guest, maybe several who see it the other way, and they debate it. Your segment on these issues was purely a single sided debate. If you had on a guest who was knowledgeable about these issues, they he would have blasted you for lying. But like all arguments you make, you are too weak and rely too much on deception to make your points and arguments.
Until you start acting like a political journalist, no one will regard you as one. I can not, and will not. You are liberal TV blog, with no comments section. A coward, who would weep if placed in a room with a republican strategist. A fool, who would cower in the presence of the experience and knowledge, the wisdom and power of someone like Dick Cheney. Go on, make your speeches each day about the same ole things, continuing to lie and mislead those who watch. I'm content, because I know, and it's even better that you know, that no one but a few far left liberals are watching anyway...
