OK, I get it now. It's the Republicans fault that funding for the Gitmo closing fail in the Senate because:

1) According to Olby, the Republicans played the "terror card". WTF?

2) Olby says, "...the president was meticulous about keeping much of the National Security apparatus in place...same head of the FBI, same Secretary of Defense...did we just see, today, the problem with that." Then he goes on to accuse one or both of those guys of "leaking" misinformation about detainee recidivism and "90% of the Senate fell for it". Again, WTF?

It's all the Republicans, Robert Gates and Robert Mueller's fault. They tricked and manipulated the Democrats into voting "No" on the funds to close Gitmo.

First he states that Rush "can't take it anymore" that MSNBC "has gotten to him" and therefore Rush "has surrendered". He further states that Rush "does not want to be on TV any more".

All of the above quotes are so wrong. It is clear from the Rush clip that Keithee shows next that Rush is throwing out a "challenge" to MSNBC to not cover Rush on any MSNBC program for 30 days and then view their ratings. That's all Rush said. He never said that MSNBC's coverage of him bothers him in any way. He never said he doesn't want to be on TV any more" And anybody who watched that WTF segment knows that KO lied through his teeth. Not exaggerated the truth, but flat-out lied.

After watching both speeches today I realized Obama is digging his own hole. He spent a good portion of the beginning of his speech bashing the Bush administration's policy's that it felt like a campaign speech. And in a failed ditch effort he's trying to convince the American people that any further MAN MADE DISASTERS would be not because of him, but as a result of the severe nature of Bush's policy's.

This was suppose to be about the closing of GITMO and how he lost the funds for it, and as reported, he simply didn't give us or capitol hill anymore information on his plan for closing it down than he did back when he signed the executive order.

Cheney on the other hand pretty much stood up for what he and the Bush administration did. Actions that no one else but him would defend. And he was right in doing so.

Obama was suppose to give us more of a plan on GITMO, but instead gave us more Bush bashing. And the reason he's digging his hole is this could have been one campaign promise that could have been swept under the rug. But he let his arrogance get the best of him in his first week and now he's stuck with a problem.

In the end he could have left GITMO open and blamed for Bush for a situation he couldn't solve. But instead it's now his problem and he's trying to pass the buck.

And one probable reason why he still doesn't have a solution, the same people who told him not to release the photo's are probably the same ones telling him to leave GITMO as it is.

And well, we don't want those popularity polls going down now do we.

Let's see which Media Matters stories Obly "regurgitates" tonight. Here are a few:
