Every once in awhile you just have to give one to hogs. There is nothing redeeming about this guy Sanford and his goofy actions. Sure, Olbermann was the first one to actually read the personal e-mails, he is always willing to take the low road. No surprise there.

Just watched part of the show on MESSNBC.COM (that way I can mute Olby whenever I want). Let's see...3 segments on Gov. Sanford (#5,4,1) and only one short segment on Iran. Can you say "priorities"?

The #1 segment was a total waste. Plus, that was really creepy when Olby was reading the email. I think he was getting "aroused" while reading an email from a man to a woman...too weird. That was sick. I could see quoting excerpts but reading the entire email with that creepy music in the background??? Then his staff was giggling in the background just put it over the top.

I am a big believer in Karma. If their is justice in the world, KO will get what's coming to him.

I don't know where to begin actually, when Keith wasn't gloating his ass off over Gov. Sanford's problems and getting turned on by reading those emails, the show was bascially all over the place. I have no idea how he managed to pull out an obsure Michael Palin show on there, but geez, he's really reaching for stuff. I'm sure no one got it or for that matter when, "What show is this?"

I don't know what Keith was trying to do but that whole show was one big "bloated" gloat 'fest. His rant on the Worst Person was one for the ages. I guess it sucked when the Worst Person was right and Keith was his usual wrong self. He should RESIGN.

The emails were out there, it was the way KO presented them and the absolute joy in which he presented them that disgusts me. In fact it creeped me out, kind of like an old man waiting outside a playground. Larry King read them also but didn't include pan flute background music or giggle and sleezily emphasize particular words as he read them.

Earlier today Joe Scarborough was discussing last night's Sanford coverage and described "people on cable news shows who themselves have NO PLACE to be mocking other people." He used the word "glee" to describe the way some people on cable news shows were reacting, adding "some on this network..." I'd love to see another Scarborough/Olbermann shovel bout.

It's good ol' Schadenfreude.....I have indulged in it myself and is an easy bad habit to pick up in the world today.

Well the thing that really pissed me off about KO was the clip from that show which really attacked the wife and kids. that had nothing to do with Sandford or the other woman in quetion. He directly went after the wife and kids that was the part that disgusted me.

Trust me. The only allegiance to 'higher principle' that Olbermann harbors is to the image of his own elitism.

Oh, he may couch it in the progressive politics that became emblematic of the elect and select journos/beautiful people who he admired growing up, but it's really all about his ode to his own lofty perch far above the rest of the rabble.

Olbermann is at heart not an iota more complicated than a thin-skinned bully, who loves nothing better than drawing a distinction between "elites" and "pariahs", between "us" and "them".

That many progressives who do have ideals greater than themselves (and principles that aren't made flexible to the point of liquidity, depending upon politics of the people involved) now find Mr. Olbermann distasteful, is something that time will only enhance.
