Slobbermann's a JOKE
His ratings are under the Boat
Like toilet water swirling, his nightly yearning
to have a threesome with Musto and Frank
Okay, it's Page Six
But anything that makes Olby & the staff at A-Mess & NBC News go blinky.

Here's another one:

KO's base is revolting against him. Check out "Has Keith Olbermann Lost It?" at Daily Kos. Keith felt the need to add a comment himself, prompting hs faithful to come to his defense, but really there weren't many of them. He must be disappointed because the majority of posters were critical of his show. TV Newser has the coverage:
http://tinyurl.com/nlebyk
He actually reprimands a commenter.
"I would be delighted to invite you to conceive, create, and perform a version of what you want, on broadcast or cable television, and make it also fit the business's requirements (profit-making), while dodging rocks, every day, from all sides."
A little sensitive about constructive criticism?
"Kindly stop throwing rocks". What a loser. All they asked him to do was spice up his show a little. Obviously people who watch that show for information are complete morons so it shouldn't be too hard. Just get a liberal pretending to be a conservative.
Oh and the death threat thing was cute too. Who would waste a perfectly good piece of paper sealed in a perfectly good envelope with a perfectly good stamp on it sending a death threat to that slimeball?
Ugh. I actually went to the actual Kos page to read those comments. I think I need a shower now.
"I actually went to the actual Kos page...". Great, they got me talking like them now. Next thing you know I'll be saying things like "Who cares about opposing views? All you get is a guy screaming like an asshole, which is what O'Reilly is blah blah blah."
You also get high ratings, which is something Countdown wouldn't know anything about.
Further proof that if Keefy ever debated anyone for real it end with him crying in a corner.
Also I'm never surprised how everytime I goto a Kos page it's hard to find the comments ripping on KO, and all the ones there supporting him are always +suggested.
Bottom line is the comment section doesn't match the poll at the top of the thread. Sounds like a free speech thing.
Also I was LMAO at the people claiming Bathtub Boy has been "too hard" on Obama. Even more so when someone said the Ed Show was good. Who are these people?
I think this is worth reading from a commenter named masanf over at Inside Cable:
Amazing. Why is it that no one on the left can ever bring themselves to criticize the most obvious thing about that pathetic, thin-skinned turd: he never has anyone on his little-watched show that EVER disagrees with him. I can think of no one less tolerant of dissent than him. He is pathologically allergic to opposing view points.
His show consists of a)comparing Republicans to mass-murderers, b)comparing Republicans to fascists, c) having someone from Media Matters use the terms “Faux News” or “Fox Noise” (as if those terms that were run into the ground years ago are somehow still original and funny), d)insulting those with higher ratings than him ie everyone, Bill O’Reilly in particular, and e) naming the same one or two conservatives “The Worst Person in the World” . Funny how a Republican politician won that title the same day he talked about an anti-semitic racist murderer on his show. The fact that Rush Limbaugh and Newt Gingrich have been called that more often than every terrorist in the world, including Osama bin Laden says a whole lot. And the hypocritical moron has the nerve to claim Bill O’Reilly is inciting people. I guess calling Republicans, or regressives to use his term (amazing how the party that supports New Deal policies from 70 years ago is supposedly progressive) terrorists and fascists is benign.
But what is particularly hilarious is how he tries to claim he is objective. What is even funnier is those on the left who seem to believe anyone outside of his echo-chamber actually thinks he is. Those on the left always seem to mention Hannity and O’Reilly when presenting evidence of Fox News’ bias, but when you bring up Olbermann when discussing the left-wing tilt of MSNBC, they act incredulous. Seriously, Olbermann actually claimed he didn’t vote in the presidential election because doing so would call into question his objectivity. What an absolute joke. Hey Keith, we started questioning your objectivity when you started comparing Republicans to Hitler and Mussolini or maybe it was/is your refusal to criticize any Democrat, unless they sided with Republicans on some issue.
And I always get a chuckle when he thinks he is being subtle mentioning how few people watch his show. I guess he isn’t ashamed by the fact that every single person on Fox, including Greta and even reruns of Hannity draw way more viewers than him. His viewership is so small, he gets creamed by a guy, Glenn Beck, who is on when most people are in rush hour traffic. His ratings are reminiscent of those for The McEnroe Show.
Every single word that person wrote about Countdown was 100% true, he nailed it. How can you argue with what he wrote, its like groundhog day between 5-6 on MSNBC. I bet KO was pissed off when he read that little part about ManDow..its true even I think ManDow is a smartass at times, as least she has people on the show that she might not agree with.
I really think this is the weakness of Countdown, KO just can not handle an interview with people that will challenge him. We have seen what happens when he gets someone that even disagress with him just a little bit, he goes to pieces.
The best comments on Kos are about how O'Reilly sucks because all he does is yell at his guests and call people names. Excuse my language, but what a bunch of fucking hypocrites. Do they not watch Countdown? Do they not read their own comments? Scum. The Daily Kos gives real liberals a bad name.
BTW, all you need to know about the difference between Fox News and MSNBC is this: Fox has been covering the violence in Iran ALL FRIGGIN DAY. I accidentally flipped to MSNBC, where I saw an ad for it being "The Place for Politics"... followed by another episode of Lock Up. Apparently the revolution of democracy and free speech in an oppressive dictatorship isn't worth covering.
The article at KOS that ktt brought us has a poll in it. It may not mean anything but if not relevant it sure is interesting. The premise:
Has KO lost it?
Yes, he's jumped the shark: 33% 221 votes
Not quite, but he's getting damn close: 24% 157 votes
Nah, he's cool: 32% 215 votes
HOW DARE YOU CRITICIZE MY PROPHET!: 9% 62 votes
Yikes! If this was broken down to negative and positive it would look like this:
58% Negative
42% Positive
This is KOS for gosh sakes and I know us knuckleheads couldn't of added to more then 6 votes in the negative.
Rumor has it that Mike C. voted "HOW DARE YOU CRITICIZE MY PROPHET!".
One thing you have to admit.
On the edge of collapse in Iran, and FNC is on the air, bringing updates. MSNBC is airing.... docs about prisons!
This is JACKED UP! MSNBC can no longer call itself a news channel, one of the biggest stories ever and they've turned off the lights and locked the doors!
Holy Mariska! Zucker and Imelt should be ashamed of themselves. I hope Obama doesn't get their news on weekends on MSNBC, or our enemies would launch a attack and we wouldn't find out about it!
Correction to my post at 8:33 last night - the link is to Inside Cable, not TV Newser.
Although some came to KO's defense, which is probably what he was looking for, there are a lot of critical comments on that diary. Even those who were supportive are jumping ship. Many of them reflect this posters' thoughts.
"Keith has become staid and boring. It has to do with the fact that his show has a very narrow and rigid routine. He simply keeps repeating the same system over and over again, and he needs to reinvent the show, and bring in some new writers to mix it up. It is too bad, because he is highly intelligent, but often times people like Kieth get inside of a very predictable set of producers/writers around them and it is like a echo chamber which becomes nothing but a bunch of people patting themselves on the back and that is prone to turn into boring routines that do not inspire what makes a great news show. He needs some new segments and he needs to drop the on going feud with O'Reilly and Rush. It's old, its done, it's tired. I love Keith, but I'm not watching anymore because, frankly, he's lost his edge."
That has to be sending KO over the edge, and the fact that he felt the need to confront a commenter shows he can't take the heat.
58% Negative
42% Positive
This is KOS for gosh sakes and I know us knuckleheads couldn't of added to more then 6 votes in the negative.
Yes, CountDung, that was my point. If his loyal followers are more negative than positive I see a shift in their viewing habits coming. They're gettig bored. I wonder if he'll bother to try to retool the show. He seems awfully lazy so I doubt it. He'll blame dropping ratings on every circumstance and everyone but himself.
As for MSNBC showing Lockdown reruns, which is more important, visits to prison or a pivoltal moment in the future of the Middle East? For that "news" network prison wins.
I didn't vote on that Kos poll.
Olbermann, don't take this as "throwing stones" but maybe if you had a weekly baseball quiz it would lighten your show up a little. We all know you're a baseball God, mainly because you keep telling us, so why don't you prove it. Have some baseball fans come on and show them just how much you know about America's pasttime. Call it "Stump a douchebag" or something. Just have some fun for God's sake!
No, wait, that won't work. It would cut into your Cheney bashing. "Do you think this is a time for jokes and quizzes, sir?"
With KO losing his beloved fan base at Daily Kos, I think it's nothing but downhill from here. The Kos is his sanctuary...a place he could go and feel good about himself with all the comments about what a great job he was doing and what a great human being he is. Now that some of his flock are starting to turn on him, I expect he will tone down his rhetoric on Limbaugh, Cheney, ect. and focus on the issues. He will NEVER bring in an intelligent person for a debate. Olby has to be liked by the far left. That is his core base. So when he sees negative comments on The Daily Kos, he takes it personally (to wit his response in the diary). I seriously believe he will makes changes because of the negative comments. He has a classic narcissistic behavior disorder and his ego is so fragile that he must be liked...especially by the loons on the far left.
Brad the guys an elitist, why would he listen to "peasants"? In his mind there's nothing wrong with his show. And in response to the critics on Kos, he showed that he doesn't think there's anything wrong with his show. I mean, he's getting death threats for christsakes!
In the context of fellow narcissist Dan Rather, his show was garbage yesterday, it was garbage today and it will be garbage tomorrow. Nothing will change until MSNBC starts to lose money on his product.
No. Olbermann is an insecure and small liberal who craves for attention. He never got adulation growing up because he was as irrelevant and dorky as they came. Now that he's been elevated by the leftist basement dwellers to a multi-million-dollar TV host, he must do everything in his ability to keep them happy. They are his only cash cow. Without them, he will return to the irrelevancy and worthlessness he championed as the youngster who was driven to Yankee games by his mom.
Olbermann has no future without his Kos Kids. Believe me. Things will be a-changing.........
Well LucasCop after reading your comments (and they were good comments) I think it could go either way. While Olbermann may be a narcissist he is not a complete idiot. He knows what he can and can't do.
What he can do is use hyperbole and combine it with false outrage to rally his small, unintelligent base. Sorry, I try to keep the name calling to a minimum but after reading those comments on Kos I'm convinced his base is full of idiots.
What he can't do is provide robust debate, talk about real issues or get interesting guests on his show. Is he even capable of providing an intelligent argument on Iran? Or the economy? Or Iraq? Or healthcare? Or North Korea? Without blaming it on George Bush and Dick Cheney?
You say changes are coming. I honestly don't think he's capable of making them. He's not a trained journalist. I'm not saying you have to be a journalist to be a commentator but when you're a glorified baseball card collector posing as a commentator you're screwed.
We'll see. I guess the experiment begins tonight.
"I think the true nature of the Iranian regime has been unmasked. You can actually see the lack of Iranian democracy at work. This is a regime that represses its own people, supports terrorism worldwide and openly denies the Holocaust, while calling for the elimination of Israel.
"This regime is not only a great threat to our existence, but also to moderate Arab countries, the safety of Europe and to the peace in the world.
"If they had a free choice, I have no doubt they would have a different government. What we have seen in Iran is a powerful desire on the part of the Iranian people to be free.
"Don't forget, Iranian elections are not like elections in Europe or Israel. First of all, the regime vets candidates. They eliminate those who are unacceptable to them in advance.
"This is a theocratic, totalitarian and brutal state that doesn’t really give free choice to the Iranian people."

Nice and true, but not spoken by President Obama.....This came from Benjamin Netanyahu.
Our President still chooses to side with some limited vision of personal diplomacy that requires he be over-cautious....as opposed to freedom spoken to perhaps costing a small portion of his prized short-term personal political capital. This is leadership?
It is a shame that our President cannot be as specific and truthful in evaluating the situation in Iran.
I am sure the apoligizing will continue on tonight's COUNTDOWN.
VERO POSSUMUS! WTF?
Friday's ratings were great. Bill was gone, but his sub's (Laura) total was over 2 million at 8pm.
Meanwhile, proving there really is a God, KO received (most likely) his worst total ever at 8 pm .... drum roll, please......... less than 800,000.
Ha,ha,ha,ha,ha. Sink Keithee, SINK!!!
Those Friday ratings. I'm glad Keith finished poorly that night, but still, it was Friday. I fear he'll bounce back tonight.
Olby will undoubtably deem Eminem WPITW (or not):
