Funny, I've never read where, when there was 'Big , Breaking, Important, News the real Edward R. Morrow instead of going on the air. Went to either The Polo Grounds or Ebbitts field.

I lasted about 10 minutes listening to Obama and I couldn't tell you one thing he said. It mad absolutely no sense to me. He spoke in such generalities and did not mention how he plans to pay for his health care plan. So I turned on Most Amazing Videos and laughed at the criminals.

I did switch back for a few minutes and he heard him saying that the Cambridge Police Department was stupid and most of the police departments in America racially profile. What that has to do with health care is beyond me.

Being a former police officer, I take serious offense to Barrack Obama's comments that the Cambridge Police Department "acted stupidly" in the arrest of Henry Gates. This is why:

1) He was not there and does not know what happened.
2) He takes the word of the liberal press that everything they report is "fact".
3) The police were responding to a 911 call of a possibly break in at Gates' residence where there had been a previous break in.
4) According to the official police report, Gates started using racial remarks towards the police officer who was investigating the possible break in. When the officer explained why he was at the residence, Gates stated, "why, because I'm a black man in America".
5) When the officer confirmed Gates identity, Gates demanded the the officer's name and badge number. The officer told Gates if he would speak to him outside, Gates replied, "ya, I'll speak with your momma outside".
6) Once outside Gates continued to yell at the officer about racial bias creating a public disturbance. He was rightly arrested for disorderly conduct after being warned to calm down, cuffed and taken to jail.

Now, obviously Gates has a HUGE chip on his shoulder either with white people, police or both. A similar incident happened to me about 4 years ago. I pushed the lock on my front door leaving my keys inside and had to lean on the door to force it open without causing too much damage. Officers responded to my house, even surrounding it because someone called about a possible break in. I knew why they were there so I calmly opened the door and told them what had happened. An officer escorted me to my bedroom so I could retrieve my wallet to show him my ID. I thanked him and the other officers for their prompt response and even apologized for having wasted their time on a false alarm. No harm, no foul.

Gates was looking for confrontation. He wanted to be the "victim" of some sort of racial profiling because in his world white police officers are racist.

Obama showed his true colors and should apologize to the officer and to the Cambridge Police Department for his ignorant comments that he knows nothing about. He should have just said he does not have all the facts, wasn't there and cannot make a comment at this time. But instead he made himself look like a fool in front of a national audience. I think his comments speaks volumes about his character...or lack there of.

Yup, I've seen it too many times to count in my old hood. Anytime we were confronted by the police when we acted civil (key word here as Gates obviously doesn't or wouldn't know the meaning of the word) we were sent on our way. If one of my friends acted like an ass he was arrested.

The only difference with Gates and the president as opposed to my friend, was that when he got out he realized he was an ass, and they not only don't, but endorse their stupidity.

I thought Sharpton lost the nomination. Next our armed forces will be acting stupidly.
