Olbermann Watch Weekend Poll:
The final part of our Olby vacation thread continues on where part two left off. Post your comments about Bathtub Boy, his substitute hosts, or whatever and vote in our special weekend poll!
I had posted it on the last thread so I'll put it on here. Damn, didn't Markos look gay? With those bug eyes and everything, *Shivers* and if anyone things that Markos and Huffington are anything credible in the political world you're insane.
A possible cease fire in the cable news civil war:
http://www.mediabistro.com/tvnewser/fnc/do_msnbc_and_fox_news_have_a_deal_120631.asp#more
I have noticed O'Reilly is talking less and less about MSNBC and you Olbermann recappers haven't said much about Fox News attacks.
I can't see how msnbc would agree to that deal. I mean if they couldn't talk about FNC, they would have to run a 'Test Pattern' most of the day.
Really, what would Shuster have to talk about?
So Markos was in to advance the birther deal and try to tie it into Republicans/Conservatives...Yeah the're all nuts! HA! HA! HA!
Well why don't they have this guy on next. Oh I see he's note following the script line by line eh?
Writes Mark Joseph in Huffpo:
The only thing weirder than the Birthers are the anti-Birthers, who blame the Birthers for being conspiracy theorists yet actively feed the conspiracy by refusing to call for President Obama to release his birth certificate.
The state official in Hawaii who manages such things has reiterated that there is indeed an original birth certificate on file which would confirm President Obama’s having been born in Hawaii and that she has seen it, but state law won’t allow her to release it unless the president authorizes it.
So what’s the problem here? Release the original and let’s be done with this madness.

With the so-called peace-talks between FOX and NBC one wonders if KO might extend his "vacation" and stay in the tub if his bosses tell him to lay off O'Reilly. New Murrow indeed.
"I am party to no deal,"

So says Olbermann about the "summit." Oh well, time will tell. So far it seems Olbermann is lying because prior to his vacation he was not attacking O'Reilly like he used to.
I think Olbermann will address the NYT article specifically on the air this week (denial)....his ego cannot stand it. Based on his past behavior, the free thinker will take anything he says with a pound of salt.
O'Reilly on the other hand will go about his business without commenting on it all, a smart decision....that's my prediction.
Once again we see the difference on who has the better character....Olbermann always made it personal against O'Reilly, even with mocking (and poor) voice imitations and juvenille photoshopping...O'Reilly did something productive by taking on the sins of GE and did not go into the mud of personal tit-for-tat against Olbermann alone....I respect O'Reilly for that difference....Also, I believe that is why GE cried "uncle."
I have always loved the fact that O'Reilly will not give Olbermann on ounce of satisfaction in that he never speaks his name on air.
All along, COUNTDOWN does mediocre in the ratings race while THE FACTOR, and the majority of FNC programming, does stellar numbers.
Olbermann is petty and an blind ideologure.....O'Reilly is much savvier and more open to different points of view.
The moonbats are grasping at straws
It's all birthers and Bush that's because
Obama's a failure
Transmission derailleur
He's a joke. Can you hear the guffaws?
Pardon me for not trusting the NY Times, but who called for this "secret meeting"? Simply put Fox News/News Corps is on a roll so I see no reason for them to be calling a truce. GE/MSNBC on the other hand...
It seems to me that BOR won. oberjerk attacked bill, while bill attacked G.E. I think he did more damage then countdumb did to him. My score BOR 1 KO NOTHING.
More on the alleged cease fire. Pay particular attention to point nine:
http://insidecablenews.wordpress.com/2009/07/31/the-fncmsnbc-dial-down-what-i-was-hearing/
Dennis that's what I was thinking. O'Reilly knows people will go after him, he doesn't care and judging by his ratings nobody else seems to care.
GE is a whole different animal. That shareholders meeting did not make them look good. Top that with the Iran story that O'Reilly beat to death and you can throw out that saying about any press being good press.
But my question is why. What does News Corps have to gain from this? What does GE tanking have to do with News Corps? Why didn't Murdoch just tell Immelt to stick it?
Unless News Corps is being paid to be quiet (and that wouldn't surprise me) then none of this makes sense.
recommendation to NBC/GE have KO host the big loser Not only could he be a host he could be a contestant this way there don't have to worry about him breaking the truce.

Looks like one of Olby's Buds is just a little bit bitter these days don't you think?
http://bighollywood.breitbart.com/bighollywood/2009/08/01/todays-chapter-of-the-wit-and-wisdom-of-janeane-garofalo/
Which one of these stories WON'T be talked about on the Monday edition of 'Countdown'?
1) Afghan mission falls short of expectations: The international military mission in Afghanistan has delivered "much less than it promised" due to the lack of a realistic strategy, an influential committee of lawmakers said Sunday.
In a report, the House of Commons Foreign Affairs Committee said without a clear strategy stabilising Afghanistan had become "considerably more difficult than might otherwise have been the case."
2)SULAIMANIYAH, Iraq (AP) - Iran state TV confirmed Saturday that it has detained three Americans who crossed the border from northern Iraq, saying they failed to heed warnings from Iranian guards.
Kurdish officials from the self-ruled region in northern Iraq said the three - two men and a woman - were tourists who had mistakenly crossed into Iranian territory Friday while hiking in a mountainous area near the resort town of Ahmed Awaa.
3)To get the economy back on track, will President Barack Obama have to break his pledge not to raise taxes on 95 percent of Americans? In a “This Week” exclusive, Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner told me, "We’re going to have to do what’s necessary.”
4)CARACAS, Aug 1 (Reuters) - More than a dozen of 34 radio stations ordered shut by the Venezuelan government went off the air on Saturday, part of President Hugo Chavez's drive to extend his socialist revolution to the media.
The association of radio broadcasters said 13 stations had stopped transmitting, following an announcement Friday night by government broadcasting watchdog Conatel that 34 radio outlets would be closed because they failed to comply with regulations.
Critics said the crackdown infringed on freedom of speech and that owners were not given the right to a proper defense.
Chavez defended the closures, calling them part of the government's effort to democratize the airwaves.
5)An 'Exclusive' Interview with a poor 'Rocking Chair' that had to put up with somebody's fat ass last week.
Place you're bets!
Another do as I say moment from Olby?
First' let's revisit Those famous words......Don't worry he says them in the first 40 sec. of the clip.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pyrm4iQehu0
I just got done watching DiamondBacks/Mets from Citi-Field (Arizona feed). And in one of the shots of the scoreboard, what do I see in the upper left corner of the scoreboard.
A FNC advertisment!
Now it didn't look like a rotating sign, so that means if you sit just about anywhere in Citi-Field, you are going to see that sign.
Now, Olby want's you to make a scene in whatever place you walk into that has FNC on, but he says nothing about a large advertisment for FNC in the ballpark that I think he has been to more than once.
Yep! Sure can't miss that sign!

Hi everyone. It's time for the Fox Haters Week in Review.
http://homepage.mac.com/mkoldys/blog/psk270938691.html
Glenn Beck is a dumb ass and deserves all the scorn he is recieving.
I don't believe the other hosts and commentators are racist, or that Fox News is a racist environ.
At least Glenn Beck admits what he is. Unlike other commentators we tend to be critical of he doesn't hide the fact that he isn't the most qualified person for the job. He allows the people to decide whether he's qualified. You ObserverDan, do not think he is, and that's fine.
I at least respect Beck for being honest about what he is and watch his show for comedic purposes and because it pisses the far left off.
Olbermann is on kos promising a SPECIAL COMMENT on healthcare reform tonight....he's obviously trying to create some buzz about his return.....
"...(and if this doesn't sound like the ultimate self-promotion, I don't know what would, but them's the breaks)...
"Watch tonight. You'll be pleasantly surprised, I hope.
"As then-candidate Obama (not to make any undue self-comparisons) once added, with a laugh, after answering a complicated and doubting question from the New York Times editorial board: consider the possibility that I might know what I'm doing here.
"Plus there's a Special Comment on health care. About fourteen minutes worth."
http://www.dailykos.com/comments/2009/8/3/104014/3491/81#c81
Le'go my EGO! Olbermann displays one of the biggest undeserved senses of self-importance/relevance known to mankind!
In other news.....a muted mongrel tonight no doubt:
WASHINGTON — The recession is starving the government of tax revenue, just as the president and Congress are piling a major expansion of health care and other programs on the nation's plate and struggling to find money to pay the tab.
###
Ah, but what did candidate Obama promise us all in 2008?.......
"I can make a firm pledge, under my plan, no family making less than $250,000 a year will see any form of tax increase. Not your income tax, not your payroll tax, not your capital gains taxes, not any of your taxes. You will not see any of your taxes increase one single dime."
###
He has already broken the promise with his signing of the cigarette tax increase this past winter....but now it seems that's not going to be good enough...Broken promises are on the horizon as he and the democrats spend trillions and trillions more on new government programs, possibly including a new entitlement for millions of Americans.
2010 cannot come fast enough for me!
VERO POSSUMUS! WTF?
