Correction: the AP's David Bauder wrote the report with the GE spokesperson response. HuffPo regularly posts stories from other news outlets. I knew that, but blindly went to the OlbyFlood link and didn't notice "David Bauder" and "AP" until another story showed up in the Flood from ICN. Spud was talking about Bauder's story. He also wrote this.
And Syvyn, Spud must have been reading your mind because he asked "If it was really that unconfirmed, as in bogus, why doesn’t GE just sue O’Reilly for defamation?" The question was answered in the first comment to Spud's post.

I saw the clip at MSNBC.com. I don't know what's going on but at 3:27 of the clip the audio goes silent and you don't hear Olby say, "Worst Person in the Woooooorld". The last 6 seconds are gone. I wanted to hear him say "BOR". Can anyone else confirm this or is it just my computer?

"Roadside bombs, known as improvised explosive devices (IEDs), are the most deadly weapons the terrorists have on the battlefield.
In Iraq, more than 2,000 Americans have been killed by IEDs, more than 21,000 injured, many maimed for life. In Afghanistan, 252 have been killed by roadside bombs, more than 1,600 wounded.
It is heartbreaking to visit soldiers and Marines rehabbing their injuries, brave young Americans struggling to put their bodies and lives back together. This is the price of protecting Americans from those who would harm us. This is the result of terrorists who use technology to kill and maim.
Sources tell "The Factor" that there is a federal investigation underway to find out if any American company sold components for roadside bombs to nefarious people. In May of 2008, and again in October '08, coalition forces discovered unexploded roadside bombs in Iraq and handed them over to the FBI bureau in Baghdad. The FBI discovered that radio frequency modules inside the bombs were part of a shipment made by a U.S. company to Corezing International, a business in Singapore with direct ties to Iran. The bombs, designed to penetrate armor, contained Maxstream XT09-SINA 900 MHz radio frequency modules, which can be used to explode the bombs by remote control.
According to authorities, these modules are still being used today to kill Americans. The FBI will not comment, and "The Factor" believes the investigation may be classified, because information is very hard to come by.
The former chairman of Maxstream, Brad Walters, told "The Factor" the modules are excellent bomb material and that his company legally sold more than a million of them to other companies for a variety of uses. "The Factor" has been told, but cannot confirm, that the General Electric corporation is under suspicion in the case.
You may recall that GE CEO Jeffrey Immelt denied doing business with Iran to "Factor" producer Jesse Watters but a few weeks later admitted GE's dealings with the mullahs to Michael Eisner on a CNBC program. GE's official position is that they stopped taking orders from Iran in 2005, but any American company could ship stuff to a middleman, like Corezing International.
Tuesday, **"The Factor" sent a list of questions to GE asking if the company does or did business with Corezing International and what the nature of that business is. GE spokesperson Gary Sheffer said by e-mail: "We do no business with Corezing International and have no record of ever having done so."**
To be clear, ***"The Factor" is not accusing anyone of anything. We are just reporting what we believe to be true***. But if any American company did send material to Corezing — again, a major Iranian partner — they must be investigated to the fullest extent. The lives and suffering of our brave military are at stake here.

I read some articles about the BOR/G.E. story that were interesting. First, would BOR stake his career and reputation on a story he knows to be false? This would put him right up there with Dan Rather. I believe someone leaked this information to BOR and he decided to air the story for two reasons.

1) If G.E. wants to file a defamation suit, the defense (Fox News) will have a right to discovery and G.E. will have to comply with full disclosure. G.E. will never do this and BOR knows it.

2) Just like BOR stated last night...the documents are probably classified and will never see the light of day unless the charges can be proven.

I also believe G.E. just wants this story to go away. They will not bring a suit against BOR and Fox News because they could never prove their case and they don't want to make their records public. They had to respond to the allegation but I will bet that this story will never be brought up again unless one side can drop a serious bomb. I also bet that the management at G.E. specifically told Olby to drop the story after tonight and never mention it again. My only hope is that he defies their orders and they have no alternative but to kick his ass to the curb.

That being said...I just had to laugh at Cankles (again) when he referred to himself as a "real reporter". Thanks for the laugh, Fatso, I really needed it.

Dan Im going out on a limb here but I don't think this has anything to do with 'The Truce'. I think this has more to do with what's going on at the homefront.

Might have missed this, (I saw it in page six in the Post) It seems Olby pulled his huge weight around to get Katy a job at NBC4 New York.
NBC4 is in the same building as MSNBC.

Has it accured to anybody that while Katy was out there in the mid-west away from Olby, she might have spent sometime in a storm basement with some 'Hard Body'? And now she has to be back at home with 'Lard Body'.

Unless she's a 'Chubby Chaser', once you go hard, you don't go back to Lard.

Its funny that I read the article by Ann, because the town of Winter Haven is where i live and where i have lived all of my life. I dont know who this Kathleen Parker is, but she doesnt sound like anyone from my town. We are a mixed group of blacks, whites, hispanics, asians, etc. We definately arent that southern, as she makes us out to be. Ive only heard of one former klansman living in my town but has since died of old age. There really isnt that many people flying a confederate flag either. Ive been to Mississippi and THEY love their confederacy. This woman sounds like people that move to Hollywood and automatically adopt the thinking of Hollywood and pretends their so superior than the rest of humanity. Meanwhile, also via NewsBusters, guess what Keith did after angrily calling for O'Reilly's firing? He, along with former comedian Christian Finnegan, went after Rep. Michele Bachmann's son. Blue blog source (cited in NB piece): Jon Tevlin at the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, who himself cited a Kos-like anti-Bachmann blog.
This isn't the first time pseudo-reporter Keith has gone after the children of people he hates. The list includes Steve Doocy, Lou Dobbs, former President George W. Bush, and of course, Bill O'Reilly. And don't give me the "they're fair game" canard. No matter the age, children of public figures off limits.

Let me rephrase that: Keith and his komedy pal used her son as a club to beat her over the head with.

So to say, then it must be alright for US to use keith's (passed away) mommy to hammer him. I say lets have at it to show him what it's like to go after people that should be off limits.
