Enjoy this audio from Beck's Wednesday radio program, as he responds to Olby's fatuous claim that Countdown to no ratings is actually (perhaps on Bizarro planet) the #1 cable news program (thanks to Mike C for the clip!). Then settle back and prepare to recap The Hour of Spin. Don't worry about trying to figure out what dog didn't bark. We know Edward R Olbermann so well we can predict ahead of time the story that will get spiked by Herr Olbermahn. Enjoy Beck, and then grimace through an hour of the infamous, deplorable one. Comments are open!
UPDATE: Be sure to check out this report from mediaite, a website that happens to be run by MSNBC legal analyst Dan Abrams. Olbermann's claim about being the #1 cable news show in some impenetrable, never-before-seen demo? Guess what? It's Another Olbermann Lie!
Just hearing those guys laugh at Olbermann made me laugh out loud.
"I hate to intrude with the facts"....Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha.
That was great.
"I hate to intrude with the facts" but this douchebag should be thanking commentators like Glenn Beck and Lou Dobbs plus outlets like Newsbusters and you guys here. Because if they didn't waste time talking about him nobody would know he said anything at all. Look at those ratings? Animal Planet specials on gnat research get more viewers.
And by the way dipshit, nice idea calling 3.8 million people "tin foil hat wearing racists". I can't think of a better strategy for sagging ratings then to alienate more viewers.
Memo to GE, you can't spread propaganda if no ones watching.
And in Pinheads and Patriots, Bill-o delivered another smackdown to GE, Imelt, Zucker and (without using his name, but what he said about the mystery demo) Olby.
Bill said that if Jay Leno's new show fails, the network will fail. And let's face facts, Leno will fail. The worst thing about that is my goddess will suffer with her show being on such a crappy network.
I can't believe that His Royal Doucheness went to the bit again of how Ted Kennequidick was a watcher and "got his news" from Keith's show. Even if I thought there were an ounce of truth to that, the unwarranted hubris of even saying it boggles the mind. In the off chance it were actually true, however, I think it speaks volumes of both of them. RIP, Ted - Countdouche with KO will be there to join you soon enough.
But Teddy K. isn't in the 35 and younger demo.
Maybe watching Olby causes brain cancer!?
I send my condolences to all those that knew Sen. Edward Kennedy. He and I were at least 90 degrees different politically (center right, progressive), but I'm never happy when someone dies unless they're a dictator or terrorist. May God rest him.
Granted I feel bad that Teddy is no longer around. Is that the end of the original Kennedy clan now? Or is there one more daughter still living?
I think MSNBC has really gone overboard on their coverage, it's nearly as bad as the Tim Russert coverage to be honest.
But Teddy is apart of history, like it or not. Whether your a conservate, liberal or whatever, you have to tip your hat at the life and what he endured.
Oh KO...you can't even carry Teddy's flask, much less Murrow's mic.
For that...we are truely NOT sorry.
Ted Kennedy is like OJ
Killed a woman but didn't pay
The price for the crime
He never did time
Could have helped her but walked away
The views and opinions in this thread other than mine regarding Ted Kennedy do not represent mine.
Here is tonight's P&P where the infamous, deplorable one is indirectly jabbed.
Bill is now on vacation. He returns September 8. Keith will undoubtedly attack back tomorrow night. This may very well be his blue blog source.
Meanwhile, a worthwhile viewer e-mail:
Spencer Frasard, Sterling Heights, MI: "Mr. O., are those your real opinions or is it just an act? Either way, you are not a gongoozler."
BOR's response: "But *you* might be, Spencer, for proposing(?) such a loopy question. Of *course* what I say are my opinions. Nobody can just act this way."
Do I even need to say it?
Mike C wrote: "The views and opinions in this thread other than mine regarding Ted Kennedy do not represent mine."
That's the first disclaimer I've ever read on OW. ROFL. Mike C, you sound like an attorney.
Katy Turic is right on. It's a fact (not an opinion) that Ted Kennedy was directly involved in the death of Mary Jo Kopechne. He did nothing to help her. He was never punished. That, imho, is unforgivable.
My sincere condolences to the family of Mary Jo Kopechne for having to relive that horrible event. The media treatment of Ted Kennedy as a hero is shameful.
Ahhhh, this is soooooooo great. Listening to intelligent people, in turn listen to the garbage that is spewed each evening on Countdown is just so much fun. They abosolutely skewer Oblermann over his baseless and weak claims about ratings and who is watching Fox News.
The funny thing is, Keith will soon play a clip from this conversation, claim that Glenn Beck mispronounced a word or got some fact incorrect according to Keith, and then feel as though he is victorious, all while still, falling miserably behind in the ratings each, and every night to every single program on Fox News...
O'Reilly covered both the good and the bad of Kennedy on "The Factor" tonight: Talking Points, Top Story segment with Dick Morris, At Your Beck & Call (at the end of the segment).
I admit you can't dismiss MJK/Chap., but I'm sick of hearing it used as a just-after-death battering ram. But that's just me. If anyone here wants to do it, I won't stand in your way.
Has anybody, besides me, considered that most of Keith's viewers are just watching for the purpose of opposition research?
Just as meerkatpooh guessed, the deplorable one said that Ted watched Countdown. Now as ever, I do not believe a word that came out of the mouth of Ted (or Keith).
ENOUGH!
meerkatpooh to my knowledge there is Caroline (JFK's daughter), Bobby Jr. and Patrick, who is Ted Kennedy's son. He is a U.S. Representative in my state.
I was thinking of the original nine kids, there is apparently one original Kennedy left, she is 81
I love it...O'Reilly said, "Last night on MSNBC someone said the people, you guys, who watch FOX NEWS, are paranoid and racist."

O'Reilly refuses to punch WAAAAAY lower and mention Cankles' name.....he's only, "someone." Snort.
It is terrific stuff and effectively displays the pettiness and hatred coming up from Olbermann over at NBC NEWS....it is truly pathetic.
Good job, Bill O'Reilly. Keep it up.
VERO POSSUMUS! Wee weed?
"Highest rated show not on Fox News"
Combining their shows... they'd still lose
Moonbats in a panic
Depressed and manic
Howard Dean got a chorus of boos
This is great! He's crackin' up! I love it! I still say this has something to do with his Puppy-Love Romance going south.
I read in the paper this morning that Bob Costas is going to be doing his part of the show live from the game, while Keith & Dan will do their part from the studio. Interesting.
I also hear Tony Dungy will be in the studio. Now, if I'm right isn't Dungy a Conservative of sorts? Not a good mix if Keith starts blasting away.
Ted? This is all I'm going to say.
He's standing before God now.
I watched some segments of COUNTDOWN last night. Cankles wore a black jacket and solid black tie...very respectful. The tone of the segments was serious and somber.
We shall see tonight if it continues.
cee said: "Cankles wore a black jacket and solid black tie...very respectful. The tone of the segments was serious and somber."
Maybe that will yield lower ratings numbers as his best demo, teenie-boppers, have no idea who Kenedy was and don't care.
It'll continue, Cee, but in the tone of making anyone that shows any negative criticism or references anything negative about Sen. Kennedy out to be evil people that must be stopped and/or fired [Ding!]. These people include Bill O'Reilly, Dick Morris, Glenn Beck, and Andrew Breitbart. Breitbart was attacked by Think Propaganda; so an attack on by the King of Theatrical Indignance, ol' Rip 'n Read, is bound to happen.
