Tonight Keith claimed Countdown is the "highest rated cable news program for viewers 35 and under." I didn't know that was a demo; guess MSNBC had to make one up? Nielson had Monday's 25-54 demo at 916,000 for BOR and 323,000 for Olbermann. Smells like BS.
Even better was his next made-up demographic: Countdown is the highest-rated cable news program that's not on Fox. wtg, MSNBC! Next time any of us comes in 4th place, just tell everybody to ignore the first 3 places, then you win! This, of course, is what Keith then joked: Because there's no "news" on Fox News that his is really the highest-rated cable news show over all.
Ha Ha Ha...did I hear Olby correctly? He stated, "I hate to intrude with the facts but ours is the highest rated cable news program viewers 35 and younger and the highest rated cable news program for all viewers not on Fixed News. And since Fixed News has now migrated completely over to serving propaganda, to tin foil haters, conspiracy theorists, paranoids and racists it is not a news organization making this show the highest rated cable news program, period.
He actually made that statement tonight. I'm not making it up. I laughed so hard when I heard this ridiculous, juvenile rant. I especially like the part where HE ADMITS HE IS SECOND TO FOX NEWS but attempts to spin it like a failed comedian.
And if you watch Fox News you are a conspiracy theorist and a racist.

Kitman referred to it in his hit book, but I heard Bill tell that story on "Live With Regis & Kelly" two years ago when he was promoting "Kids Are Americans Too." I took the story to mean Bill tried out in '67.
Olby probably used the same logic when he was a kid.

Everyone is reporting that Ted Kennedy has passed away except FNC, which is running the Greta rerun. That is unusual for FNC. I hope it's not an editorial decision.

I agree re FNC. I've never approved of Kennedy's politics and didn't have much respect for him as a man but I wouldn't wish that death on anyone and I am sure his family, friends and many ordinary citizens are grieving for him.

Speeches, standing ovations and testimonials will be framed nicely on some of the venues that are sympathetic to the leftist cause. Fortunately, most Americans have become too well informed on the subject to be swayed by the emotional play.
Olbermann's pretty pathtic attempt to explain away his LOWER over-all ratings, even among the 25-54 demo compared to previous years AND FNC's dominance is also standard for the egotistical twit. I would really like to see the actual numbers and trends he claims....Is it the demo's PERCENTAGE of total viewers he is talking about in a slight of hand way?
We already know that Olbermann lies and distorts facts, but the above example is another nice example. Along with his lack of coverage of poor Obama polling results these last several weeks, his lack of coverage of unemployment figures and anything other facts that show the failures of his ideological brethren, Olbermann is a consistant propagandist who also displays hatred and contempt for his fellow human beings....The projection he displayed last evening is very funny as well.

"In [O'Reilly's] nightly round of self applause last night, designed to drown out the echo of daddy hitting him....."
Is there no limit to the amount of hatred Olbermann is willing to wallow in? In there no place Olbermann will venture to go in his obsession and anger? Is there any dignity left in Olbermann that would cause him to pause and realize joking about such things is not only unprofessional, but just plain wrong?
Rhetorical questions, all, (for fair and free-thinking people).....Any Olbermann defenders left in the blogosphere are encouraged to try to answer them.

And in remembrance of Senator Edward Kennedy, I would like to show, in a simple and concise quote, that the good man HAD NOTHING on Sarah Palin's supposed "over the top" demogoguery with "Death Panels" as he took out his political weapons in the battle against the confirmation of Robert Bork:

It seems being extreme in the predictions department was a well honed skill of Edward Kennedy and the press seemed not to be too interested in "fact checking" back then as they are now with various republican's characterizations of the issues. The hypocrisy of democrats during today's political battles is obvious and the press seems to want to ignore that simple fact.
So, as we all reflect on a politician's life, let us not forget some of the lower moments of rhetoric and polticial warfare! It seems appropriate to review it now as even the current chief executive claims "foul" on the rhetoric of his political adversaries. "Fear mongering" and "scare tactics" seemed appropriate in defeating a SCOTUS nominee back in 1987.....Why are the very same tactics not allowable now in 2009 for a hugely impactful piece of legislation?
