An update on Herr Olbermahn's call for a boycott of Fox News, announced on July 1:
If there is a solution, it is perhaps an indirect boycott. It is probably your experience, as it has been mine, that stores, bars, restaurants, waiting rooms often show Fox News on their televisions. Don't write a letter, don't make a threat, just get up and explain, if they will not change the channel, leave the place and say calmly why it is you are taking your business elsewhere.... Fox News Channel will never restrain itself from incitement to murder and terrorism, not until its profits begin to decline, when its growth stops. So not so much a boycott here as a quarantine, because this has got to stop.
So how's Olby doing? Has he got the eeevil Fox News on the run? The power of Keith Olbermann and his societal influence is clearly demonstrated by comparing the Fox News numbers from June 1 with the latest ratings available (August 18):
Monday, June 1: quarantine declared
Fox News: 1,323,000 viewers total day
Fox News: 2,721,000 viewers primetime
Latest ratings: Tuesday, August 8th
Fox News: 1,593,000 viewers total day...270,000 viewers GAINED
Fox News: 2,988,000 viewers primetime...276,000 viewers GAINED
By the way, don't bring up Oralmann's portion of the MSNBC schedule if you happen to run into him at the ball park:
June 1: MSNBC: 1,097,000 viewers primetime
August 18: MSNBC: 970,000 viewers primetime...127,000 viewers LOST
The quarantine marches on!
Excellent post johnny! As usual. It validates what many of us here believe. That Keithy (and MSDNC, oops, I mean MSNBC) is becoming more and more irrelevant in today's political world.
Meanwhile, those numbers show that Fox is becoming more and more relevant.
Hey Keithy, I know you are reading this blog, how does it feel to see you are becoming more and more irrelevant?
Nevermind the great ratings of Beck and Hannity.
I wonder if Hannity's numbers are better than HANNITY & COLMES?
People sense that much of the MSM is pro-Obama and that organizations like MSNBC are actually pushing the left's agenda as both right and needed. The added bonus of the taunting, tainting and basic demeaning of any conservative protest or movement has turned off the open-minded and fair among us.
The "tea-bagging" taunts was the start of the decline for the left and they are now fully invested in it as they continue to try to broadly paint all anti-Obama policy as racist, "right-wing," violent and/or nutty. From tea-bagging to birther, from Timothy McVeigh references to Nazi smears, the left has decided to take the low road here and the negative response should be telling them it just is not going to be productive.
The ironic thing is that they were the very ones, only a couple of years ago, accusing George Bush of such tactics without any grounds whatsoever.
How times have changed.
VERO POSSUMUS! WTF?
When did Jimmy Legs start going after Dobbs hard and heavy? It seems pretty recent that Dobbs has become a nightly fixture in WPITW; I bet Orangemann saw his quarantine against Fox was backfiring and decided to switch targets to CNN. One night I saw him mention Dobbs' ratings, clearly again trying to pretend that Fox doesn't blow both CNN and MSNBC out of the water.
Possible candidate for WPITW:

Tonight on Countdown: ***BREAKING NEWS***
75% of Americans support public option. You Republicans and Conservatives are idiots. Americans want the government run public option...why are you people opposed to a measure that 3/4 of the country wants????
But wait....
This is what was reported on the Huffinton Post and the Daily Kos. But what KO will NOT tell you is that the poll was sponsored by MoveOn.org.
He might show the poll and if he does (I doubt it) look at the bottom of the screen where it shows who conducted the poll.
Olby will claim this is victory for Obama and the left but just like he accused Rush Limbaugh, he is tilting the playing field in his favor. The poll is SKEWED and does not represent America.
This is my prediction for the top story tonight. If he does use it get ready for a HUGE LIE. I am pretty sure he will cover it since it is big news at two of his favorite loony left websites.
Dear Olby

Now, go soak in tub.
Blah! Ha! Ha!
I love it, Puck.
I did a little more research on the health care poll. Obly will say it was conducted by Survey USA national poll. But it is still sponsored by MoveOn.org. He will also cite a NBC/Wall St. Journal poll that says the same thing but their poll was conducted over 2 months ago.
How will the deplorable, orange one spin this story...should be interesting.
This while debate on health care is so out of control now that it's no longer even about fixing health care to Olby and the left. It is simply about winning a political fight with republicans. Let's face it, in our country today health care is the ONLY issue that has a direct impact on ALL Americans. The 2 wars, the economy, etc may impact some of us at some point, but not all day every day. Libs are bitter and angry over Bush admin and they see health care as the one way to get back at all the repubs because they know it's the one issue that'll really get to them. In blindly seeking their revenge the Libs overlooked the fact that more than just repubs care about health care. Then suddenly in Aug. they woke up to see that a "public option" is not the will of the people. Rather than acknowledge this fact, the Libs get even more bitter and now just want to stuff it down our throats. It's not about health care anymore, it's about Libs being to bitter and angry to admit that they were wrong.

NEWSPAPER CORRECTS 'JACKASS' - KEITH OLBERMANN MIX-UP.
- Andrew Malcolm
Thank goodness The Times is the forthright, ethical institution that it is.
And when a mistake happens, it rushes to set the journalistic record straight with an honest repair.
Here is an actual correction from Page A4 of today's print edition:
FOR THE RECORD
TV listings: The Prime-Time TV grid in Thursday's Calendar section mistakenly listed MTV's "Jackass" show on the MSNBC cable schedule at 7 and 10 p.m. where instead MSNBC's "Countdown With Keith Olbermann" should have been listed.
It's not the Worst Mistake in the World.
But without this kind of correction, online too, a few thousand people might have tuned into MSNBC, the Obama administration's favorite cable channel, expecting to see a "Jackass" show, and instead they'd have found Olbermann.
Worse, what if nobody noticed the difference?

Our chief executive is raising the level of rhetoric in our nation....
"There is something about August going into September where everybody in Washington gets all wee weed up!"
###
I really think this deserves an entire segment on COUTNDOWN tonight. Perhaps such smart and illustrious experts like Michael Musto, Richard Lewis or Jeanine Garofalo are available to let us all know what "wee weed" means.
I'll have my DVR ready tonight!
VERO POSSUMUS! Wee Weed?
Wait! I just heard the classy press scretary explain what President Obama meant by, "all wee weed up!" It's PRECIOUS....
Obama was referring to a form of urination! He was referring to the medical condition known as nocturnal enuresis...or what is commonly called bed wetting.
So that's it....People are wetting themselves, perhaps like silly little nervous children (bed wetters), figurtively.....Wow....Obama's got it all over W. with regard to the high rhetoric!
VERO POSSUMUS! Wee Weed?
Look at this from NewsBusters: Olbermann Ignores Fmr "Worst Person" Novak's Death, Once Suggested Will Go to Hell. We are literally, dreadfully sorry.
So it finally happened.
Last night, O'Reilly had more viewers in the key demo than Olby had total viewers during the 8 p.m. ET broadcast.

Congrats to he, she, it, or whatever Rach is.
Guess KO's gonna have to "come out" now just to compete on his OWN FUCKING NETWORK !!!!!!!!!!
Madcow beat the bathtub boy. Well that makes sense because Madcow is also bigger in the pants than bathtub boy. Heck hamsters make olby blush!
The hate spewed from that hole in his face he calls a mouth, I call it his anus, is expected. I can't wait until he attacks Jesus because he is not letting Obama's deathcare pass.
Keep 'em coming keithie, with the tiny ...... ummmm brain, yeah that's it.
