Again no Bathtub boy...Robin filling in tonight.
I'd love it if Keith never returned.
It's weird how he only shows up for the ballgames and the occiasional suck up spots (Moore) but that's it. You would've thought he would've been in today, what with the Tsuami and the loss of the public option in the Senate Finance this afternoon
Now they have some hack on talking about Fox and how the network is trying to bring down the Obama Administration. Hmm, wasn't MSNBC doing the same thing over the past eight year with Bush and company?
Ole FatAss is proving to us that he's a quitter. I guess if you've got ZERO ratings and your show has ZERO opposition of guests and the host ( Olbermahn ) has a fixation about penis's, why show up to do the show. I mean, why does'nt msnbc just show that old indian test pattern from 6pm eastern through 11pm eastern? My guess is that WE the people of sound mind have gotten to this dumb ass olbermann and that he is in heavy psycho therapy for his extreme leftist mentality. Kind of brings a tear to my eye..... NOT. What comes to mind right now at this moment is old Don Meredith singin,Turn out the lights, the party's over.
I still think the recent days off are because of his father.
Sometimes I feel like Pavlov's Dog
You say Roman Polanski
I think Keith Olbermann
Slippery Shuster, he of the ghastly rictus, needs to practice enunciation. He can't handle the Olby-term 'cluster-fox'. Nine out of ten people probably heard it the way i did. It wasn't pretty. It left me wincing. For one thing, Olby only uses it when describing F&F. Shuster used it tonight generically about FNC. Yikes.
Mike C.......You may be right regarding KO's recent days off however, it is curious to me that he had no problem doing his football bit (lame as it is) on SUN night. Just a thought. More Olbypocricy?

We don't know for sure what's going on with Keith, though his Dad's illness seems to be the most likely possibility. Hope for his sake that's not true. NOw would be a good time for another Page Six exclusive about Olbermann boycotting his MSNBC show because he got mad when one of his demands wasn't met.
From by the numbers:
Sadly For Countdown With Keith Olbermann Ratings, Presidential Elections Don’t Happen Every Year
Posted on 29 September 2009 by Bill Gorman
In the ideal cable news ratings world there would be the run up to a Presidential election *every* year. Sadly for MSNBC’s Countdown with Keith Olbermann, it’s just one in four.
Comparing Q3 2009 with Q3 2008, the show has lost 21% of its cable news target adults 25-54 demo , and 12% of its average viewership. 2012 will be a long time coming.
If it weren't for Bill and Miss Grace
Krazy Keith would be in first place
According to Keith
They're all beneath
Just take the top two and erase
I caught Shuster and the hack from MediaMatters comparing video of the kids forced to sing songs praising Pres. Obama with videos of kids forced to sing songs praising Pres. Bush AND CONGRESS AND THOSE HELPING KATRINA VICTIMS. Somehow these idiots felt it was a fair comparison.
Are those Countdown viewers really that stupid that they cotinue watching such garbage?
Recall the days when Olbermann had a book out for sale and he arrogantly crowed about his success based on his book being #18 on The NYT Best Sellers list?.....

It seems we do not hear much about using such a yardstick anymore....and I doubt we will tonight because it seems Glenn Beck's latest is going to be #1....beating the now deceased Senator Kennedy's wisdom filled book. What a shame!
Ignoring year-to date DECLINING ratings is also a nasty habit of Cankles....oh well...ignoring news comes easy to the "journalist," as we all know.
Cee I will go even further and say he won't even be in tonight (again).
FLASH: GLENN BECK 'ARGUING WITH IDIOTS' TOPS BESTSELLER LIST WITH 120,888 SCANNED, PASSES KENNEDY 68,904. MACKENZIE PHILLIPS MEDIA BLITZ, SELLS 19,389 COPIES...
Then again if he does show up he will ignore all of this and have his buddy Musto on to talk about his favorite subject, Sarah Palin & her new book.
Remember, Olby sez that Fox News isn't real, therefore. Glenn Beck's book isn't real. Welcome to Olby planet.
First, thanks for using my pic on the thread.
Secondly, is it not hilarious that a college drop out, Glenn Beck, gets several No 1 books ( the latest, "Arguing with Olbermann .... I mean idiots") and the ever so greatly educated moron Keithy raises to No 18. HaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHaHa I bet he comes up short in so many other ways too! Right Keithy, you know what I mean ... that little thing that makes a hamster say dam is that all you got!
Keithy and the liberals of his ilk, are hypocrites and see things only one way, the Anti-American way! They have made us into France for gods sake, France was more aggressive than the obamster at the UN. So sad! We are becoming a joke in the world. Other countries are laughing at the US like they do when Keithy drops his pants!
IF Olbermann returns tonight, it will be interesting to see how he comes down on the Polanski story. HotAir has a very interesting post showing the hypocrisy of the elite of Hollywood....I think Olbermann has shown in the past that he is pretty much in line with that moral hypocrisy.....
Hollywood’s statute of limitations

It also is interesting that forgiveness over child molestation cannot be found for lowly, non-celebrity priests and their church, but for an acclaimed director?.....Ah, the hypocrisy is just so thick.
Gotta love the left!
Uh oh....more book rankings bad news for the delusional Cankles the clown.....

What is a middle-America hating, thin-skinned and arrogant metrosexual to do?
I know exactly how Olbermann will react or comment about Polanski. He will agree with Hollywood and the far left. For example (from Daily Kos):
1) Polanski is guilty of wrongdoing, admitted it an accepted his sentence. The judge reneged. He should be left alone. Not because he is a genius but because he did take responsibility for his action of not demanding her birth certificate before engaging in sex.
Whether 14-year olds should have sex at all, let alone with middle-aged men, is a societal question. The law is the law. A deal is a deal.
2) And as for consent, it is all speculation. The casting couch has often been the site of reluctant consent.
He should have known what he was doing is wrong. No excuses. But he is being railroaded now.
3) The witch hunt on this man is a little too much for me.
4) The rest of the developed world seems to think that between 13 and 16 is a reasonable age of consent. I think they're correct.
*******************************************************************
Totally disgusting. You have to be a complete lunatic to defend the actions of a child rapist who drugged and sodomized a 13 year old CHILD. I wonder what these morons would say if it were their 13 year old daughter that was raped. I hope he is brought back to the US and spends the rest of his life in prison with men who hate child rapists...if you know what I mean.
When O'Reilly is out, Ingraham keeps the ratings at the #1 level.
When Olby is out, Boy Blunder makes the ratings go thud!

This helps explain their version of church cee

Ugh, thanks for the link puck.....religious self rightousness on the part of the left is an interesting phenom that is just becoming more blatant as time goes on.
Michael Moore is about as credible a voice for "leveling the playing field" based on biblical concepts as was the former Senator from Mass, the classic limosine liberal and hypocrite, Teddy Kennedy.
Selective moral outrage and trying to secularize the ETERNITY teachings of Jesus Christ is just some other weak points in the left's crusade to change the human heart.
Olbermann is a fitting clown in the above comedy of errors.....as is Barack Obama.
VERO POSSUMUS, indeed. Wee weed?
Apparently NBC has given in and promised not to fire Katy Tur, because the word is that the infamous, deplorable one will be on the air tonight.
Damn, I was hoping he would quit...I never catch a break.
Well Rep Grayson should (in KO's words) RESIGN! And of course being that dough boy is now back, he brings out his kronies, "Miss Huff" and gay "Markos". Curious to see what Olbermann has to say about his mysterious absence from his "low rated" show.
Even though he was spotted this weekend at the Yankees/Red Sox game on of all places, FOX.
Well he did say it was in part that his Dad was and is in bad shape, so cutting him some slack there is permitted. HOWEVER...being at a ball game, and all that, then just showing up to interview that whale Michael Moore and didn't at that time mention why he wasn't there is "iffy" in my book.
You know he would try to put the agony of his Dad's health into the Health Care system debate on here.
He'll do anything for ratings. I think he's also stealing a little from the Glenn Beck book of packing in some emotion to his show. Guess that A&M degree didn't teach him how to plagerize correctly.
Hey - did Markos dye his hair? I guess his lover loves blondes.
Attending a Red Sox-Yankees game that was broadcast on FOX? How's that quarantine going you fucking hypocrite?
Well color me red, the site that had the image, did an update and is now saying it's not Olbermann
you be the judge:
http://gawker.com/5371292/keith-olbermann-will-explain-where-in-the-world-hes-been
Bronze: Congressman Frankkks for ragging on Obama
Silver: Beck for the crime of calling the lefties what they are "anti freedom of speech" eco-nazis. For once, Olby calls out the left. Trashes Dan Patrick.
Gold: Dobbs, for crime of criticizing Obama prayers. Makes a Dobbs impersonation.
Don't really care!
ANOTHER AWARD WINNING COUNTDOWN
RESIGN KEITH!!!
His gal pals at Keitholbermann.org just solved the mystery with their Holmes like laser vision for the fine details: Keith's ear lobe doesn't have the little hang down loop that Gawker's guy did.
I kid you not!
I doubt seriously if I could tell my dear Grampie's ear lobes from someone else's even after forty years. Are these gals obsessed or what? LOL
Why is Keith railing Bush for going to Bejing last year? He wasn't running for election, and this was before the collapse of the economy. No one moaned and bitched about Bush going back then if I remember, they were too busy getting ready for the "messiahs" corrination in Denver later that month.
Keith...Shut the *(&$*&$ up.
And the #1 story, Keith criticizing those who dare criticize Obama for his trip to Copenhagen.
Too bad Glen Beck had an interesting take on all these Obama connections today on his show, which all led to Valerie Jarrett. If Glen is right and his facts add up, Valerie will end up winning big if Chicago gets the games.
So while every other media outlet is praising Obama's trip to boast our economy by getting the games, Glen's looking at who will actually benefit from this. And Valerie isn't the only one according to him, Axelrod is also expected to get something for this as well.
Corruption, yes we can.
I don't usually watch Beck all that much, maybe once a week, but so far he's been pretty on the ball. This is material that makes a journalist's career skyrocket, but instead they're letting a commentator do the job for them while they make up excuses for The One.
Did anyone else catch Orangemann calling Hannah Giles and James O'Keefe "actors", "pathetic" and "racists" in the Best Persons segment tonight? What a tool.
Keith's defense of Obama going to Copenhagen is the economy? Yeah, the economy for the Chicago area but what about the rest of the United States? I haven't heard that fat slob mention Obama and the economy in the same sentence until now. Why? Because he has to defend THE ONE in the face of any criticism. You know, marching orders.
Good boy, Keith. Now go have a cookie.
I heard he was at Fat Camp.
Being an ACORN apologist aside, if Keith Olbermann trashes somebody, they must be doing a good job. It's a compliment.
I don't have much confidence in Chicago winning the bid for the '16 Summer Games. I predict they'll go to Tokyo.
If what I have read at this link is confirmed...Olby best be preparing A LOOOOOOOONNNNNNNG bath!
http://www.thewrap.com/article/exclusive-comcast-buy-nbc-universal-general-electric-8002
As they say on FNC
We report, YOU decide
Wait. Did Keith do a Special Education Komment in #1? And he was taking all those days off because he petitioning for his much-younger girlfriend to stay with WNBC?! She shouldn't have been hired to begin with! She doesn't deserve any job unless she earns it. She has earned nothing. She's the beneficiary of nepotism; cradle-robbing nepotism. And it's sick.
Or, unlike Olby, doing ACTUAL reporting, Mike C.
It worked CountDung. HE'S FAT!!!!
If Obama is the consummate politician that he is billed as I seriously doubt that he would go to Copenhagen unless he had some advance assurance that his bid would be successful.
I just don't see him risking jumping the wrong way right now. If he is seen as stiffing his commander on the ground in Afghanistan while the situation rapidly unravels to make a futile effort for a benefit of dubious value to the country he could drop like a brick PDQ.
I think it still might go sideways on the games. I think queen Michelle will do or say something that the IOC will take the games to Rio instead.
I sense a epic fail in the works.
OMG Keithy, your show is sucking in the ratings!
The O’Reilly Factor– 3,527,000 viewers (906,000) (1,641,000)
Campbell Brown – 769,000 viewers (259,000) (366,000)
Countdown w/ K. Olbermann – 739,000 viewers (208,000) (389,000)
Bio: Ray Kroc– 212,000 viewers (111,000) (147,000)
Nancy Grace – 853,000 viewers (290,000) (424,000)
If Campbell Brown is kicking your shows butt, I would look into getting a rope and a place with high, strong rafters in the ceiling. Also you will need a strong chair to stand on, well for a little while at least!
dcmeyer,
I just watched the video of the Best Persons segment. Yep, he did call Giles and O'Keefe "racist actors who made the pathetic ACORN videos". The bit was basically TRYING to smear BOR (which failed miserably) by calling him a clown and using the Ted Baxtor voice.
Hey Keith, how are Giles/O'Keefe racist and why is the video pathetic? Is it because they actually did some investigative journalism and exposed major corruption funding by OUR TAX DOLLARS? Or is it because you cannot defend ACORN's actions and corruption so you do what every moron does when they cannot defend themselves with FACTS...you say the magic word...RACIST. This is getting so old and pathetic. Give it up and stop taking your talking points from the Kos Kids. Clown doesn't even begin to describe this idiot.
lugnuts6,
If Comcast buys NBC Universal, I wonder if they would have the power to throw Olby out on his fat ass. If they do, I hope Chrissy, Ralph and Special Ed join him.
I just checked in over at Daily Kos to see if anything was said about the Comcast/NBC Universal deal. Get a load of this heaping pile of shit and lies about NBC and their hosts:
Recent media reports from the Washington Post and other outlets suggest Comcast is in negotiations to buy NBC-Universal. This can't be good for democracy in America.
I believe that NBC News, and in particular, MSNBC, has provided America with an invaluable service--an opposing view to the corporate fed media that most Americans are privy to. CONTRASTING VIEWPOINTS, especially ones which have champions in the form of Keith Olbermann, Ed Schultz, and Rachel Maddow, are many progressives DAILY DOSE OF REALITY.
Let's all hope they don't swallow up the last remaining light in progressive news coverage.
********************************************************************
Did everyone laugh as hard as I did???
Spot on in both of your posts, brad!
To quote Joe Scarbourgh, "I guess patriotism is the last refuge of the scoundrel -- is -- could we add to that that playing the race card is the last refuge of the truly desperate?"
Orangemann is indeed desperate.
And, "CONTRASTING VIEWPOINTS?" Ha! Where on MSNBC is there ONE contrasting viewpoint most of the day, let alone, from 5-11 p.m.?
Is Olby referring to the "rather pathetic ACORN videos" that managed to get a majority of even Democrats to vote to defund the group?
Why is it every insult KO tries on someone seems to better describe himself?
In this case, pathetic.
No mention of Palin last night in my quick scan of the clips over at MSNBC's site....
Although eveyone else is buzzing about the excellent pre-sale numbers for Palin, Olbermann judged it not a story worthy of his attention....a muted mongrel prediction that was obvious to the thinking, rational viewer familiar with his pathologies.
"HarperCollins will print 1.5 million copies for the book's first run, the same number that was printed for late Sen. Ted Kennedy's memoir 'True Compass.'
"Kennedy’s book, published earlier this month, currently stands at number six on the Amazon list.
"A publishing industry source told POLITICO that they 'cannot remember a non-fiction book taking off like this in the pre-order market. It became number one only a couple of hours after nothing more than a date announcement. It is truly unprecedented.'
"Much of the 400-page book is based on journals Palin kept during her vice-presidential run."

The popularity of this book along with the growing popularity of O'Reilly, Beck and the rest of the "right-o-center," programming at FNC should be another warning to The Democrat Party that they have no future going with the radicalism and hatred of the fringe anti-America left as they have these past three years....it is a pathway to continued divisiveness and rancor.
Voices like Olbermann are not mainstream, as shown by his ratings and by his hateful rhetoric towards others he displays every evening (when he decides to show up to "earn" his huge salary). NBC NEWS should realize the corner they are painting themselves into by simply looking at the ratings trends these past 12 months....including FNC's success.
Yelling into the minority echo chamber is not good news programming.

What I find odd (and sad) is the fact that the irony of that statement about an opposing view to the corporate fed media didn't even occur to the dunderhead who made it. Does this idiot not understand that a huge corporation, GE, owns NBC/MSNBC, and is using them to help GE gain government favors, i.e., contracts and bailouts? Or, is it because he is okay with the actions of corporations who aid those who share his political views? The ends justify the means. Either way, it is sad.
NBC wants to ditch Katy Tur
The fact is that no one likes her
She's dumb as a rock
Her colleagues mock
The drive-thru lane would better suit her
"So does that mean that Comcast, if the deal goes through, will inherit all of NBC-U's issues, including the ego-maintenance of Keith Olbermann, the signature player at MSNBC?"

It's good to know there may finally be some payback for all of the hatred and vindictiveness that MSNBC's partisans have put out these past several years.....I hope Olbermann is totally cut off from his narcissistic charade as the self-proclaimed 21st Century Murrow.
Bill O'Reilly will have the last laugh.
It would be hilarious if this deal went through and Comcast cleaned house. I mean, Jeff Immelt is already in with Obama so what does he need a propaganda tool for anymore?
cee,
Thanks for the article. I can only hope the deal goes through and Comcast does the right thing by getting rid of Olby and friends. I will keep my fingers crossed.
It seems to me that MSNBC did it's job getting Obama elected and receiving the bailout money. Now it's time to throw Obly and Co. under the bus.
A muted mongrel prediction for tonight's COUNTDOWN (a very easy call)......
Jobless claims increase again

And please note the curves at the next link that clearly show how Obama has failed to meet his promises in just 6 months.....

VERO POSSUMUS, indeed. Wee weed?
Cee, a perfect segue for this from News Busters:
"1982, 2009: Networks Find Identical Unemployment Numbers 'Good ' News for Obama, But 'All' Bad for Reagan"
http://newsbusters.org/blogs/julia-seymour/2009/10/01/1982-2009-networks-find-identical-unemployment-numbers-good-news-obam
I read that article Grammie and was not surprised. The media is allowing the Obama administration to set (and change) expectations, define the terms of debate and even uses the administration's well polled phrases without critique, like "public option."
It is a very sad state of affairs....Thank goodness for FNC.
NBC is the Detroit Lions of the entetainment world. When you buy a loser you do so with the prospect of turning things around with the hope of banking lots of cash down the road. Keith will get the axe. He is on a losing streak of epic proportions. Keith's back off on O'Rielly corresponds with the Comcast negoiations. GE does not want BOR blowing back on GE and MSNBC when this deal is getting hammered out.
The end is near!
ENOUGH! RESIGN!
Geez, talking about counting your eggs before they hatch. Every other day you guys say Olbermann's out, or he's going to have a meltdown or whatever and nothing's happened. How 'bout we wait and see what happens with this deal before you say Olbermann's done. This Comcast deal sounds like a longshot.
"I think an overwhelming portion of the intensely demonstrated animosity toward President Barack Obama is based on the fact that he is a black man, that he's African-American."
###
That was what former President Carter said, verbatim, to Brian Williams 2 weeks ago....recall Olbermann's breathless reaction?....
He invited his blog pal, Markos Moulitsas, to speak about Carter's comments and sought a broader political impact as evidenced by the following key exchange:
OLBERMANN: Markos, big picture here. I think people foresaw the nation‘s past history of racism as a factor in the election last year, as something to be overcome, and I think a lot of people—even those who did not vote for the president—saw and felt a sense of triumph that this had occurred.
Did anybody foresee this as an issue of governance or an issue that would actually be even if it—with 10-foot poles exploited by the opposing party? In governance?
MOULITSAS: Yes. Clearly, we knew this was going to happen. Anybody who has any inkling of what the conservative movement is about and what it is capable of knew that they were going to latch on this sort of thing as a tool to try to rally their own base and try to drive Obama‘s favorabilities into the ground. I mean, you saw what they did to Bill Clinton, who was a white president, obviously, but they accused him of murdering people—all sorts of horrible, horrible things.
So, this is not beyond them. So, it was clear when Obama became president, and as you had the Republican Party taken over by the Rush Limbaughs and Glenn Becks and Bill O‘Reillys, you knew this was sort of what was going to happen. It was almost inevitable. And I think what is important now is to see how we as a nation react to those baseless and hideous attacks.
OLBERMANN: As if we needed an underscoring, you mentioned Bill O‘Reilly‘s name. At this hour, as we speak, the segment he is doing is about ACORN, as if Barack Obama were its founder, president, and made million dollars a year or a week off of it. It underscores it perfectly.
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/32877777/ns/msnbc_tv-countdown_with_keith_olbermann/
###
We then saw the failure, thankfully, of the above terrorism....The White House backed away from Carter and the media stopped talking about it....as did Olbermann....as a political tactic to stop dissent, it failed, to the good of our nation.
NOW, Carter is backing away from his original statement, trying to say he only meant the "fringe,"
http://hotair.com/archives/2009/10/01/jimmy-carter-i-never-said-obama-protesters-were-racist/
###
Ah yes, Olbermann will likely, if he even covers it, forget what he, O'Donnell and Moulitsas hoped for....they hoped that this was a milestone in marking the entire Obama opposition as that being only born from racist motives....that the only reason people could oppose Obama was for the irrational reason of race hatred.....including O'Reilly, Limbaugh and Beck.
We shall see if, like Carter, Olbermann is intellectually dishonest or simply takes the coward's way out and does not even cover the former President's nuancing of his previously ignorant and hateful statement judging the hearts of his fellow man.
Obama's America....what a wonderful place....disagree with him and be called a racist....then....nevermind!
VERO POSSUMUS, indeed. Wee weed?
No one said it was a done deal. I said, "I hope" and "I will keep my fingers crossed". Others here are HOPING for the same thing.
One can dream, right?
