Olbermann Slammed Bush Administration For Criticizing NBC
By Noel Sheppard | October 22, 2009 - 18:16
Keith Olbermann's recent cheerleading for the Obama administration's attacks on Fox News is in stark contrast to how the "Countdown" host felt about the Bush White House criticizing NBC last year for questionable editing done in a "Today" show report.
Olbermann also severely scolded presidential candidate John McCain last August for his comments about NBC's Andrea Mitchell.
As NewsBusters' Geoffrey Dickens reported on May 19, 2008, NBC aired a piece that morning which "seemed to blame all of the Middle East's problems on the President's policies."
Later that day, White House counsel Ed Gillespie sent a letter to NBC President Steve Capus accusing the network of deceptively editing answers Bush had given during his interview with Richard Engel "to give viewers the impression that he agreed with Engel's characterization of his remarks when he explicitly challenged it."
Two days later, Olbermann made Gillespie one of his "Worst Persons in the World"
What a difference an "O" makes, for now that Obama is in the White House, bashing of media is just fine as far as Olbermann is concerned.
Here are some snippets of his statements in just the past few days:
* "Doocy, whining about the White House correctly saying Fox Noise is not a news organization..." --- October 21
* "The real danger of Fixed News, as the White House continues the push back. How it propagates phony stories, then calls the reaction or the controversy news. Then complains to real news organizations that they`re not covering the original phony story." --- October 20
* "Our third story in the COUNTDOWN, a second front in the White House attempt to rescue journalism from the hostage situation at Fox and the ghost of William Randolph Hearst...Meantime, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said, off camera, this morning, quote, "we render opinion based on some of their coverage and the fairness of their coverage." When asked what he thought the difference was between Fox and news networks, his answer, 'You and I should watch some time around 9:00 or 5:00 this afternoon.' As for how Fox opinion bleeds into its so-called news, you don`t have to take the White House`s word for it." --- October 20
* "Good news and bad news. Bad news, one president declares I`m a sick puppy. The good news? The current presidential administration declares that Fox is not a news organization" --- October 19
So, when the Bush administration pushed back on NBC, the person responsible was listed as one of the worst people in the world.
And when Sen. McCain pushed back on NBC, Olbermann called him a whiner and told him to grow up.
Yet, when the Obama administration goes after Fox, Olbermann sees it as good news.
Any questions?

1) Again, another great video of Mr. Hypocrisy.
2) Damn, Keith put on some serious weight.
3) This stuff doesn't even surprise me anymore. It's becoming the "norm" for Olby and MSNBC.
So let me get this straight.
For years, Olby spreads unfounded conspiracy theories that a major news organization is taking talking points directly from the White House, and the very freedoms and liberties of the citizens of the United States, and the world for that matter, are at stake.
But when he is invited to a covert face-to-face with the actual president of the new administration while they are, at the same time, attempting to denegrate freedom of speech by generating an enemies list for the president and The Party, this is okay?
If only the leftist basement dwellers were sober enough to see the hypocrisy staring them in the face each and every night. These people are hopeless. And Olby has them wrapped around his little pinky.
Brad's NewsBusters link
First to be fair, GWB had at least twice or three times, conservative hosts. What I'm pissed is that Keith now thinks it's no big deal.
Second, Keithy made a comment that FNC got a advance of Cheney's speech last night, accusing FNC again of not being a REAL news outfit.
Now keithy-poo, tell me you never got a advance copy of a speech from a political figure? YOU CAN'T!
WPITW:
Bronze: Boss Limbaugh, missed it.
Silver- Tucker for calling out left wing meeting for president.
Bitch-boy goes nutz saying that he isn't in the pocket of the white house. HA!
AND HE'S FUCKING TURNS IT INTO A SPECIAL COMMENT AGAINST FNC!
Gold: Lindsay Graham for standing up for energy independence.
Keith, you got a purty mouth.
SEQUEL LIKE A PIG BOY!!!!
MikeC...how do you paste links from other sites?
Thanks
One way, Brad, is to highlight the link at the top of the browser--beginning with http, colon, and two slashes--copy it, and then paste it to the comment box.
If the link is big, then try a website like TinyURL.com and make a smaller link out of the original link. Then, highlight the smaller link, copy it, and paste it to the comment box.
Marina Orlova explains other ways to use HTML or code in comments on here on her HotForWords website.
Keith, your hypocrite slip is showing ...
Absolutely a waste of an hour tonight on "meltdown." Between him blowing up about how "Fox sent Hannity and others to meet with Bush" and now it's sort of "their turn." So to speak. Look, when Obama had that meeting earlier this year with George Will and friends, it wasn't with any Fox people, it was just Will and his snobbish friends, so dont say well he met with Republicans first.
And for God sakes, we get it that the Peach Cobbler was good, were you eating it off Obama's chest or did Eugene "hack" Robinson help you out?
Hearing Keith then get all pissy about "I'm getting tired" of this n that. Sounded like a little kid getting all mad after not getting dessert after dinner.
Then...THEN, after his show he appears on Maddow, then she brags about the Salmon, are you sure it was Salmon? I mean it looks like she wears the same clothes every other day. Yuck.
I hope that Beck, Gibson, and Ingrham wring these two idiots a good one in the morning on their shows.
I think what happened here is Olby thought (in his own mind of course)
That this would turn him into his idol, Ed Murrow. And his ratings would shoot through the roof, and everybody would flock to him, blah, blah, blah.
Ha! Ha!
I love to watch him when he can't control his pissy, girl/man.
Hey Obama, this is what happens when you side with pissy girl/man & Ray Maddow. You're ratings hit the skids, just like their's.

BTW: on a crappy note. Soupy Sales has left us. Life sucks today.

Keithy, take your little marbles and go home! You and MSDNC are hypocrites! The Obamster's people corrected MSDNC on live TV, during an interview! So who is not a news organization and an Obamster mouth piece? By mouth piece I mean c*cksuckers.
The real hope and change we can believe in!

When Hannity and such met with Bush, was it behind closed doors and off the record, as the Olbermann/Maddow meetings were? I seem to remember Hannity conducting interviews with Bush and showing them on his show.
Then we get this beauty regarding the press pool interviews with the pay czar:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BlMILRyDRdM
Unbelievable. Excellent show of unity by the press corp, knowing full well Obama has crossed the line and if he takes down Fox, then the free press is compromised, and America is gone.
But wait, didn't Keithy say that the White House saying FNC wasn't a real news organization was evidence enough that it wasn't? (Nevermind that the White House thought it was hunky dory for the last 8 years ... oh, you mean it's not the White House Keith cares about, but the people in it, and the prestige of the office only matters to Keith when someone he likes is in there?)
Anyway, Keith says what the White House wants is fine with him, right? And I'm sure he loved seeing the White House try to kick Fox News out of the press pool. But then the rest of the news organizations had to team up against BHO and declare that unless FNC was included, they wouldn't do any interviews (thus denying BHO's boys key access to the public to spread their BS).
And since MSNBC is part of the press pool, that means MSNBC had to stick up for FNC's right to be considered a news organization. I'm sure Keithy loved that. His own bosses betraying him. How will he stand for that. YOU MUST RESIGN KEITH!!! YOUR OWN PRINCIPLES ARE AT STAKE!!!
FNC isn't a real news organization because it has a "perspective"? Like MSNBC doesn't? Or CNN? Whatever. Obviously they mean a perspective they agree with, and that's the scary thing. Next thing you know, they'll declare religious and private schools to not be real educational institutions because they have "perspective" (that doesn't agree with the White House). Are states that went to McCain in the last election now not really states because they have a contrary "perspective."
The irony of all this is that Obama's boys hate FNC because of guys like Glenn Beck exposing Obama's leftist leanings ... leanings Obama was clear to hide and deny during the campaign, and is still trying to hide in order to smooth over his transformative change message so he can ram it up America's collective ass. Nothing Beck has said has been disproved, and the best Media Matters and their ilk can do is some phony "out of context" argument, or to simply proclaim it untrue because they say so, not presenting any countermanding evidence at all. So Beck likes to talk about Obama advisors such as Anita Dunne, who admires Mao. And Mark Lloyd, who praises Chavez for controlling the media before subjecting his country to a harsh dictatorial edict. And what does Obama do? He sends his goons after FNC, trying to control the media and thus proving Beck's point for all to see.
When Olbermann accepted the Obama administration's characterization of FNC and claimed to be the number one cable news show, he made clear he is not a journalist. He accepted a government order that was basically immoral and wrong....they do not say who covers them and they do not have an "opinion" on how the press should organize itself to cover the government.
Demonizing opponents has reached a new level with the left in charge that was never seen when the moderate right held the reigns. The other news organizations (WITHOUT KEITH OLBERMANN) made a wonderful stand against a horrible trend towards totalitarianism when they refused to be told who is in the WH poll by the government. Obama is a fool.
VERO POSSUMUS, indeed. Wee weed?
The President wanted to bar
FoxNews network from the Pay Czar
Another epic fail
Barry should go to jail
Better yet, some feathers and tar
I think this kind of hypocrisy explains why Keith will never have a guest (or do an interview with) anyone he disagrees with. I think he fears being confronted with his own blatant contradictions.
If he never speaks to anyone who disagrees with him, he can say whatever he wants. He doesnn't have to worry about whether it's true.
beside the fact that KO is overweight, has restless leg syndrome, can't drive due to medical problem, can't get a girlfriend his age, hates woman, neds glasses, i think he has a slight sturring problem.
Does ko really believe people or that stupid to believe that he is not in the tank with this administration as he tried to claim last night.
Note to ko, if you workrd for a real news organization it is not unusaul to get advance copies of a speech.
This from Newsbusters:
http://newsbusters.org/blogs/noel-sheppard/2009/10/23/ziegler-offers-olbermann-100k-debate-about-sarah-palin
Ziegler is a first class douchebag but he's a pretty good journalist. Olbermann-whom I recall bragged about how much he donated to the IHTA Foundation-wouldn't last five minutes with this guy.
Two quotes from last night's show....one contains a lie, the other is so inaccurate that I cannot believe he said it with a straight face....
First, the whopper that shows Olbermann is either a great con man or so blind to his real self that he may be diagnosed with having delusions....
OLBERMANN: I'm not, Rachel Maddow is not, Glenn freaking Beck or Michelle freaking Malkin, a knee jerk jukebox of party doctrine, screeching at every reform, mocking every expression of sympathy, repeating anything the nit-wits, which they serve as doctrine slaves, try to palm off on the sheep they hope will lead them back to power.
###
Ok now, really. Cankles invented the knee-jerk reaction in responding to any moderate or right-of-center pol for the radical anti-America left. He screeches every night at the mutliple boogeymen he and his brethren have constructed and the mocking has been documented here, time and again...including elitist, sexist, misogynistic, racist and anti-Semitic vitriol. The audience for COUNTDOWN must be sheep if they believe the spin, the hatred, the psychobabble.
Olbermann is to the left like any bomb-thrower on the right he has self-rightously judged....THE BIG DIFFERENCE?....He claims to be a respectable member of the truth seeking group we call journalists....He lies night anfter night as he presents himself as an objective seeker of truth and the above quote is just another example of that lie.
The next lie.....
"This White House finally called out a group of amoral political operatives posing as journalists. That was it. They didn‘t deny them credentials."
That very day, Obama tried to deny credentialed access to interview the pay czar to
a part of the pool....Major Garrett from FNC. The chief executive of The United States of America said a journalist could not interview a member of his administration. Major Garrett was denied credentials. Thankfully, the decision was not left to the Obama cheerleader, Cankles Olbermann, and NBC NEWS morally joined the others in the pool in complaint and to forced The White House to back down in DEFEAT.
Olbermann LIED last night on COUNTDOWN. Major Garrett was denied access, alone, in a pool he or his FNC collegues have been a part of since 1997.
Will there be a correction and apology from Olbermann tonight?
Doubtful, because he is as intellectually dishonest as he is deceptive and shrill.....a continuing disgrace to the once good name of NBC NEWS.
In a recent post on PJTV/Big Hollywood post...

Keith Olbermann wouldn't know an honest person if it were a butt-naked transvestite standing on a neon sign saying "Warning: I pee standing up!"

**Let us review the colorful histories of these pundits, and the reader can decide whether they "have a perspective," in the words of White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel (in the context of a Fox News attack).
New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd hears racism everywhere. She somehow managed to draw racial motivations from Joe Wilson's 'you lie!' outburst last month. That the comment may have been a valid--if poorly timed--objection to disingenuousness on the President's part was of course out of the question. Because, you know, Wilson's from South Carolina.
E.J. Dionne of the Washington Post wanted Democrats to "make the world safe for tax increases." He notably accused President Bush of using "the post-Sept. 11 mood to do all he could to intimidate Democrats from raising questions more of them should have raised."
Another WaPo columnist, Eugene Robinson, suggested in 2005 that fears of a conspiracy in New Orleans to "save the French Quarter and the Garden District at the expense of the Lower Ninth Ward, which is almost all black" were not that crazy, and that the people muttering these theories were "reasonable" and "sober."
New York Times columnist Frank Rich has compared Joy Behar to Edward R. Murrow. He also attributed a large portion of the opposition to Obama to conservatives who are "irrationally fearful of the fast-moving generational, cultural and racial turnover Obama embodies."
PBS anchor Gwen Ifill penned a book about the Obama campaign that contained these glowing words about inauguration day: "the romance and achievement of 1960s civil rights marches bearing fruit, as the lions of the movement mingled with the up and comers. Some had been slow to embrace Barack Obama. Some had been quick. But, this night, all wanted to bear witness..."
New York Times columnist Bob Herbert claimed that an ad attacking Barack Obama during the campaign was racist because it showed Paris Hilton and Britney Spears (in the context of criticizing Obama's celebrity) and contained the phallic (in Herbert's words) images of the Washington Monument and the Leaning Tower of Pisa.
These pundits have certainly shown their willingness to shill for Obama and liberals and to decry opposition as somehow illegitimate. They all have "perspectives," and push their agendas through the media for which they report. If that makes Fox News an enemy, why are these commentators being invited to the White House?**
On the Ed Show, Al Sharpton just saying next week he's pressing charges again Rush. Haha, good luck Al, clear channel is going to back Rush 1000% and you and your false Twanna Brawley act isn't going to save your anorexic behind. Time to say good night Rev Al.
