Listen as John Gibson paints the picture we know so well: Keith Olbermann as an extension of the White House PR office, dutifully avoiding the stories Obama doesn't want covered. Be amazed as Olby's parrot-like guests completely go along with him! Then use this space to recap tonight's Hour of Spin. Comments are open!
Another great comment from Gibson.
LucasCop,
Ann Coulter's column, "The Grating Communicator", was excellent. I'm sure that will earn her a spot in the WPITW segment tonight or tomorrow.
Keith would rather be Obama's chamber pot boy, than be a man.
And when I say chamber pot, I mean Keith's mouth!
what a douchnozzle!
WPITW: 3rd-Gretchn Carlson for something.
2nd- Beck for something about slaveowner comment.
WINNER- Lou Dobbs for ripping off beck and same old same old about wife and daughter attack.
WHO GIVES A S#!T!!!!
Sorry, if I didn't do a good job, have small case of food posioning.
Well gee syvn11, everyone needs a role to play. Keithy plays his quite well, now, doesn't he?
Here is what Beck was talking about....IN CONTEXT!
Part of the 7:00 ET hour on "Fox & Friends," around 7:30, was made into two attacks by Lonesome Olbs. Via J$P, here is that "F&F" video. The first half of his attack came in Bests where he focused on Steve Doocy and Brian Kilmeade.
I asked about this in the comment thread:
"Keith Olbermann, via Media Matters, referred to an updated Pew study that says 34% of FNC viewers are Republicans and 10% are Democrats (he omitted the independents). Considering the sources, I don't buy the findings. Am I right in not buying it, J$?"
J$ intruded with the facts:
"What Keith did is parrot what Media Matters wrote. What MM didn't make clear is that the two studies surveyed different things. PEW's annual state of the media survey polls news consumers and gets their political views, favorite sources, etc. Straightforward.
The Pew study that Olby quoted had a different metric. It polled Repubs, Dems, and Independents and asked them what source do you get most of your news from. That is a different question than just asking people what sources they get news from. By limiting it to 'most of your news' people give their favorite source, but not the only one. So the two polls have different results, because the questions asked are different questions.
Wait until Pew's next annual survey comes out and I think you'll find the results closer to their 2009 report than to a survey asking which source people use *most*."
Chew on that, Olbermoronn.
In Worsts, he focused on Gretchen for having the nerve to say that he and Rachel were at that White House meeting with Robert Gibbs. He also said--and I'm paraphrasing because I refuse to recheck the video--that there are more facts on his Hour of Spin than FNC has all day...or something.
I'm betting that after attacking Gretchen for saying he was at the Gibbs event, he didn't bother to clarify that he WAS actually at a 2 and 1/2 hour confab with Obama, that Gretchen was right that he got a white house briefing, just not the one Gretchen was talking about.
Keith's communication degree
From Bovine University
Olby's not a math wiz
So he's cleaning up jiz
He received from Obama's wee wee
WPITW segment was full of misogyny starting with Gretchen Carlson of "Cluster Fox and Friends" whom he called a "news actress". Once again Obly shows his utter hatred and contempt for strong, successful, conservative women. Then the hairy knuckle dragger went on to say, "There are more bare bone facts during this hour than there are during the week of Fox news". I just lost it after that MORONIC STATEMENT. I don't know how he said that with a straight face. Priceless...we need a new montage with that one.
Then it was on to one of his male obsessions...Glen Beck. I fast forwarded through the juvenile voice he uses when he takes his quotes out of context but listened to the very end where he said, "And just the other day Beck defended the clause in the Constitution, which was later amended, that made it illegal to banish slavery for 20 years after the Constitution was adopted."
Did I miss something? When exactly did Beck defend the clause in the Constitution that made it illegal to banish slavery for 20 years after the Constitution was adopted? I don't watch Glenn Beck that much but I don't ever remember hearing him say that. If someone could help me out with the comment...or is this just Olby being Olby? You know, where he lies 99% of the time.
I'm looking over Media Matters and I see a lot of "articles" making fun of conservative this or conservative that. But the articles are mostly just restating something a conservative says, without much to actually refute the opinion or whatever. As if simply holding the conservative position in and of itself is enough to discredit the person, according to the site. It's just mindless insults with no facts.
Why does not one point out that being Fair and Balanced doesn't mean you can't have a point of view?
In the clip at the top, Gibson referred to Jim Vandehei and Mike Allen. Both "Politico" men were on "The Factor" tonight.
I tried watching, but I grew ill and had to turn it...
I'm sure this has been posted before, but I found it very entertaining...

I would just like to say one thing:
I love you Johnny Dollar.
No, I'm not gay, not that there's anything wrong with that.
This has gotta hurt....
"I don't blame Keith personally for this blatant distortion: He gets all his research material from Markos Moulitsas and other left-wing bloggers, so he can't be held responsible for the content of his show. Keith's principal contribution to the program is his nightly display of self-congratulation and pompous douche-baggery.
"Remember, Keith, like his MSNBC colleague Contessa Brewer, majored in 'communications' in college, not a research-related field, such as political science. In his coursework, he learned such skills as: Dramatically Turning to Camera, Hysterical Self-Righteousness, Pausing Portentously and Gravely Demanding Apologies/Resignations From Various Public Figures.
"Given this background, it's understandable that Keith will make errors. As viewers witnessed recently, he can't even pronounce the name of prominent American economist and philosopher, Thomas Sowell. (Although he did spend three weeks at a Berlitz course in Arabic honing his pronunciation of 'Abu Ghraib' to razor-sharp prissiness.)
"The bloggers and Keith bring different skill sets to the game. They provide the tendentious half-truths, phony opinion polls and spurious social science, while Keith provides his booming baritone, gigantic 'Guys and Dolls' suits and gift for ridiculous, fustian grandiloquence. Keith is far better equipped than, say, the pint-sized, girly-voiced, Frito Bandito-accented Markos Moulitsas to deliver the party line.
[...]
"Again, in fairness to Keith, he's never been a 'content guy.' He was a communications major. (The agriculture school Keith attended offered a degree in this field.) He lifts the material for his show from liberal blogs, overwrites it, and throws in his trademark smirking and snorts. But that's all he does because, again, he was a communications major."

Found this going through the inbox.
Penn talks about Olby in passing, but the real point I got out of this was. This is what happens to you for being a free thinker.
http://www.breitbart.tv/penn-jillette-gets-grief-for-appearing-on-beck-tv/
You can see how Penn in a state of bewilderment over this.
Very interesting.
For the last two months, 68,000 brave US men and women in Afghanistan have awaited a decision from President Obama to send additional troops to fight the "war of necessity". In that time, Obama has campaigned for his buddies, played basketball, declared war on FoxNews, and confabbed with Keith Olbermann, The blood of the soldiers killed and wounded in Afghanistan during the last two months is on Obama's hands.
nuf sed.
A very good rebuttal to Olbermann's pathetic analysis of Limbaugh's TODAY interview.....

Great and funny article on Keithy by Ann Coulter:

A few of my favorite lines.

Puck,
Mika's on-air text message directly from the White House came straight from the movie "Wag The Dog". Scary.
Well, it appears Keithy dusted off his knee pads on Monday:
On Monday, MSNBC's Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow were among several people who attended an off-the-record briefing with Pres. Obama at the White House. Sources tell us other attendees at the two-and-a-half hour chat included Eugene Robinson of the Washington Post, Maureen Dowd of the New York Times, Gwen Ifill of PBS and Gloria Borger of CNN. Perhaps not surprisingly, no one from Fox News was in the room.

How will Cankles spin this story:
Cheney: Obama's Afghan War Strategy 'Bears Striking Resemblance' to Bush's
Former Vice President Dick Cheney returned fire on the Obama administration Wednesday over an allegation that the Bush White House did not ask any key questions about the war in Afghanistan, forcing Obama officials to form a strategy from scratch and leaving the war "adrift."
FOXNews.com
ormer Vice President Dick Cheney said Wednesday that the Bush administration had developed a new strategy on the war in Afghanistan before leaving office -- a strategy that he said "bears a striking resemblance" to the one announced by President Obama in March.
In a speech to the Center for Security Policy, Cheney said the Bush administration handed Obama's transition team a policy review of the Afghan war conducted last fall to meet the new challenges posed by the Taliban.
"They asked us not to announce our findings publicly, and we agreed, giving them the benefit of our work and the benefit of the doubt," Cheney said.
Cheney's comments countered a recent claim by White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel that the Obama administration had to form an Afghan war strategy from scratch because the Bush administration hadn't asked any key questions about the war and left it "adrift."
Cheney says Obama should listen to his military commander.
"They made a decision -- a good one, I think -- and sent a commander into the field to implement it," Cheney said, referring to McChrystal, who was chosen in May by Obama to lead the fight in Afghanistan.
"Now they seem to be pulling back and blaming others for their failure to implement the strategy they embraced," he said. "It's time for President Obama to do what it takes to win a war he has repeatedly and rightly called a war of necessity."
********************************************************************************************************************
This is where Olby's hypocrisy will be in full effect if he even chooses to cover it. Olbermann has been mute about this subject for months. Hell, he's been mute about Iraq and Afghanistan ever since Obama took office.
Cheney summed up the Obama Administration perfectly in the last paragraph..."...blaming others for their failure...". Does Fox News ring a bell? Failing policies, higher unemployment, higher debt, 2 wars, failing health care reform and coming to a town near you...inflation. But instead of focusing on these vital issues they decide to smear Fox News and have a 2 1/2 hour meeting with the deplorable, vile, smear merchant Olbermann and his boyfriend Ralph Maddow.
Can you say PRIORITIES.
sorry, forgot to add this. The meeting was 2 1/2 hours long. Remember, Keithy complained three years ago when Bush dared waste 90 minutes of taxpayer money chatting up his own ideological allies in the Oval Office. As for Fox News being omitted from the guest list, Jake Tapper was also shunned because his willingness to pursue stories broken by Fox. Turns out he wasn’t included in the briefing either. Imagine that.
Needless to say, Obamster is entitled to talk to whomever he wants, but playing pattycake with MSDNC’s hatchet people does further raise the question of why Beck and Hannity are problematic “opinion” shows while Keithy and Madcow aren’t. So sad that the White House’s seek and destroy quarantine approach to its political opponents. Anyone else smell Tricky dicks ghost in the White house.
I predict that in the future, some of Obamsters staff will be wearing striped outfits. Can you imagine Rahmbo swearing it up in stripes?

Jesus, this list reads like the who's who of liberals. lets go thru the list here:
Keith Olbermann-- rabid leftist attack dog, perpetual Obama brown noser.
Rachel Maddow--leftist special interest group lesbian man-boy/girl (its Pat!)
Eugene Robinson- friend of Keith, race baiter, hard over leftie for a major leftie paper
Maureen Dowd---leftie liar (see her alot in the Fox haters articles, thanks Mike C.)
Gloria Borger--- dont really know much about her to be honest but hanging with that crowd wont win her any points with me, unless she stood up to them.
Gwen Ifill--- not sure about her but i have a feeling its the same situation as Gloria.
It amazes me how big a p*ssy Obama is. He cant stand anything close to a challenge. Im sure he had Olbermann laying down on the floor next to Bo, cause hes a good dog for Obama. They should have named the dog Keith Olbermann. I wonder if Obama let keith use the First Bathtub.
Lots and lots of raw, red meat for the leftist shill tonight!....
Cheney, Gibbs, Obama, FNC, Palin, Limbaugh, Coulter, the usual suspects......
I hope his therapist upped his lithium as a precaution.
Of course, muted mongrels will include the worsening unemployment numbers, the poor polling results regarding Obama's policies, global warming and Democrats in Congress raising the debt ceiling.....again....
VERO POSSUMUS, indeed. Wee weed?
Maybe Obama should find comfort with Chavez, after all he too has only ONE station in his country that tells it how it is. Then he can ask him on tips on how to be president for life. I'm wonder if putting a dog and pony show for the media that's with him is the first step.
Via the transcript, lowlights from Bests:
"Dateline, New York, number three, best complete reversal of reality, Brian Kilmeade and Steve Doocy of Cluster Fox [Ding!] and Friends. Kilmeade first. He quoted a Pew Research Survey today to show how balanced they are. And he said it proved 39 percent of you are Republicans, the viewers, 33 percent are Democrats. That was last year's Pew Research Survey. This year's, released a month ago, tells a different story. 'More than three times as many Republicans, 34 percent, as Democrats, 10 percent, say they get most of their national and international news from Fox.'
Doocy, whining about the White House correctly saying Fox Noise [Ding!] is not a news organization: 'I did do a little Google thing, and the 'Newsweek' column said that is essentially un-American.'
Swing and a miss. The 'Newsweek' column called Fox News un-American, not the administration's reaction to Fox News. The title was, 'The O'Garbage Factor; Fox News Isn't Just Bad, It's Un-American.'
Inside it said, 'the Australian/British continental model of politicized media that Murdoch has applied at Fox is un-American.'
Accused of not being a real news organization, Doocy blatantly lies about what was in a magazine. Way to prove the point." ...
Rip 'n Read just set the world record for parsing quotes. Then, two nominees later, he added to his record.
"Dateline, New York, number one, best-number-I will try that in English. Number one, best accidental truth revelation, Sean Hannity, who has added a new line to the start of his comedy show every night, '... free-minded patriotic Americans. This program is not White House-approved.'
Of course, without realizing it, Mr. Hannity is thus implying that until January of this year, his allegedly fair and balanced show...(frantically flipping papers off desk): was White House approved!"
Swing and a miss and Another Olbermann Lie. First, the full intro: "This is a viewer warning. 'Hannity' is intended for free-minded, patriotic Americans. This program is not White House approved." Second, "Hannity" did not premiere...until January of this year; January 12, to be exact. Before that, the 9PM slot was held by "Hannity & Colmes." And you know somethin', brother? That wasn't White House approved, either.
On to Worsts:
"That's next, but first time for COUNTDOWN's number two story, tonight's worst persons in the world.
The bronze tonight to news actress [Ding!] Gretchen Carlson, of Cluster Fox [Ding!] and Friends, responding this morning-or yesterday morning, rather, to Fox's report that Press Secretary Robert Gibbs was asked at a White House morning news gaggle about an off-the-record lunch Monday at the White House, and a report that amongst the guests were Ms. Maddow and myself. 'In this reported gaggle was Rachel Maddow and Keith Olbermann, who are opinion people over at MSNBC.'
Take two. Gibbs was at the reporter gaggle. He was asked about who was at the lunch. And as to opinion people, Ms. Carlson, opinion is a vital and part of this news hour. When I do it, I call it such. This ain't Beck or Chris Wallace over here. However, there are also more bare boned facts during this hour than there are during a week of Fox News.
The runner-up, Lonesome Rhodes [Ding!] Beck. An example, this is hilarious. "In the last couple of years, I have been trying to read a different founding father all the time. I'm currently reading about Samuel Adams. ... Progressives have been fighting for decades to achieve the power to decide for you and erase the Republicans. Now they just want to call it a democracy. They've come a long, long way. Bit by bit, piece by piece, they have been chipping away at your individual freedoms. We call them progressives now, but back in Samuel Adams' day, they used to call them tyrants. A little later, I think they're also called slave owners. ...'
At least a dozen of the founding fathers, 12, maybe 24 of the 56 signatories to the Constitution, they owned slaves. And just the other day, Beck defended the clause in the Constitution, which was later amended, that had made it illegal to banish slavery for 20 years after the Constitution was adopted. The 'New York Post' reported today that Mr. Beck has an armed guard, which is very odd because clearly his biggest enemy is himself.
But our winner tonight, Lou Dobbs, proving he is indeed simply ripping off what Beck says on Fox. He puts it on CNN, where he once did a pretty good news show. 'Well, another high-ranking White House appointee extolling the virtue of Chinese Leader Mao Tse-Tung. When White House manufacturing czar Ron Bloom was an executive at the United Steelworkers Union, he addressed a 2008 forum on the union role in bankruptcy. White House Communication Director Anita Dunn, last June, also cited Mao as one of the great political philosophers in her life. Well, to hear more of my thoughts on all of the president's czars and their fascination with Mao Tse-Tung, please join me on the radio. ...'
Dunn made a joke [Ding!] about Mao. Bloom quoted Mao in passing. Newt Gingrich quoted Mao. The only person fascinated with Mao is Beck. And now Dobbs is ripping off Beck. Lou Dobbs, today's worst person in the-where are my teeth-world!"
For the second night in a row, I remind you, sir, that she was dead serious. I'm not saying she's ga-ga over Mao, but I'm not sure he was the best example of someone who overcame great odds to achieve success. Mother Teresa, however, was a good example. Another good example to use is Chris Gardner.
I think Ann Coulter's column today will be featured on tonight's show (WPITW)....She really put the sarcastic screws to KO. And now Obama said in a speech that "Republicans do what they're told." Welt, at least they do something.
Excuse me! No freaking republican tells me what to do.
If anyone is the party of lemmings, it's the democrats.
Remember the game Lemmings? Remember you could send them all down a mountain to their doom? Democrats are walking to their own doom. And I'm just going to watch.
