Listen and enjoy as Gibby analyzes The War on Fox, and wonders about MSNBC and its status as a news organization. And we haven't forgotten this week's Olbermann Week That Was: By the Numbers. We poured through the MSNBC online transcripts to see how much attention was paid to various stories over the past week:

Notes: Friday's Countdown not included as it was a rerun. References to Iraq do not include Olbermann's ritual closing mantra.
Who will Keith Olbermann attack tonight? Will we get another "mashed-up bag of meat with lipstick", or something not quite so intellectual? The possibilities are endless: Fox News, Glenn Beck...Juan Williams would seem to be a likely target. Post your predictions here, and then recap use this space to recap the longest 60 minutes in television. Comments are open!
Fat Boy pulled out the "We're #1" in cable news ratings again because the White House says Fox News is not a news organization. Because the White House says...that's the real punch line.
Some commentator on Hannity summed it up perfectly. He said all these czars and advisers around Obama came from colleges and universities and are used to expressing their points and telling people what to do without any opposition. As soon as someone (Fox News) starts to question and criticize their policies, they do not know how to react because they've never been in that position before. Well, now we know. They react by smearing the highest rated cable news organization that reaches million of viewers (Democrat, Republican and Independent) by saying they are not a real news organization.
Pathetic.
Olbermahn refers to Countdown as "the news show of record" for (MS)NBC, yet Anita Dunn brands FoxNews as "opinion journalism masquerading as news". Whaaa?
Olby, the insufferable douche, goes after Bush Sr for mispronouncing Maddow's name. HWBush pronounced it just like I do, and everybody else I hear say it: " Mad-dow" Fat ass Olbermann is the ONLY one I've heard pronounce it : "Mad-doh", with the long 'O'. Just another reason he would have caught a beating just about every day had he grown up in the environment most of us did.
Keith and MSNBC are in desperation mode. Fox News broke the Van Jones story and then the ACORN scandal which hurt the White House. MSNBC is already in the tank for Obama and are seen as lapdogs for the administration instead of being watchdogs as journalists should be.
Mind you, this is just another DEFLECTION TECHNIQUE by the White House and MSNBC to divert attention away from the failing support of Health Care Reform...and Keith is doing his part as a good little soldier for Obama.
The more the administration attacks Fox News the more Fox News benefits. This is why Keith is so desperate. He can't criticize Obama, the administration, Democrats or liberals so he goes after Fox News. This is a dream for the FNC. Free advertisement on other networks. What these morons don't understand is that this helps not only Fox News but the Republican party. The Democratic party will take a serious beating in the 2010 elections all thanks to Obama and MSNBC.
Oh well, Olbermann's repeat sermon on Friday was only good enough to garner third place in both the demo and total viewers, allowing Nancy Grace an ever more frequent 2nd place. FNC beat the other three cablers in both the demo and in total viewers....and their viewers totalled more than the other three COMBINED.

I suppose if we lived in a totalitarian society Olbermann could make his claim last night that, since the leader says FNC is not a new organization, he and his supportive collegues at the Obama network are number one.....but...we don't live in a totalitarian society (yet)....
Reality check for Cankles...we live (still) in a free society where people choose who to get their information from....and FNC is the only GROWING cabler since the election beating the biased NBC NEWS abomination know as MSNBC time and again.
As Obama and the rest of the whiners complain they do not get 100% fawning coverage, people simply shake their heads at the state of our leadership....As men die in Afghanistan as Obama delays and defers, people get the sinking feeling the next 3 years are going to be very difficult indeed and freedom will need to be protected from those who rightously believe they have all the right answers.
Thank goodness for FNC as they cover the news, question the powerful and act as the press should....as checks on our ruling class.
Why cee, I am surprised you didn't account for how Keithy sycophants like MikeHee will use those numbers from the repeat comment to bolster his lame statement on October 8, 2009 8:45 PM, where he boasted:
"I repeat, GREAT comment by Keith last night! I expect many more than the original 2.5 million or so who saw it last night have seen it via the internet by now."
He understands the Olbermann ratings strategy very well, wouldn't you say?
Oops. I meant to add to my comment above that sycophants like MikeHee will total all views of Keithy's Komment, via cable and internet, and proclaim that Keithy's Speshul Komment on Health Care was the most watch program of all time!
The REALLY ironic thing, flindycon, is that Olbermann was preaching the far left religious zeal of single payer, government run healthcare that is, at least for the next 10 years, not happening. The current legislation that is going through the process does not provide universal coverage and may not even provide a cheaper option for individuals....Obama may actually do more harm to our system and finances with his half-a** measures for the next several years as Olbermann holds his fire against him....As time goes on and new leadership emerges, what the actual solution to some of our problems will be very different than what is being offerred now.
Standing alone, Olbermann's self-rightousness is another example of his rank hypocrisy. The "sympathy" he expresses is tainted with his long history of cynical half-truths and demogoguery he has spewed these last several years towards people he has never considered deserving of any respect or compassion....Olbermann is a fraud and a hypocrite. The special comment was yet another opportunity to feed his need to feel important, cogent, and influential. His narcissism will never be satisified.
As Obama continues to whine
And Keith's ratings are on the decline
No one's buying their ruse
So they blame FoxNews
Roger Ailes likes that just fine
Olbermann criticized Bush Sr. for mispronouncing Maddow's name. First of all, Olbermann should not criticize anyone for verbal mistakes while he constantly stutters and stammers through the nightly travesty he calls "Countdown." The contemptible dishonesty and ad hominem attacks are enough to make the show unwatchable, but when the viewer also has to endure his irregular speech patterns and goofy expressions and voices, it is no wonder his ratings are in the laughable range. Olby had better continue fabricating numbers and demographic categories because that is the only way he can give the illusion that his show is successful. (Or he can cover his eyes & ears and pretend Fox News isn't there as he did last night.) Getting back to mispronunciations, how about when Olbermann mispronounced Michelle Malkin's maiden name, or when he (intentionally) mispronounces Mark Levin's name and Congressman John Boehner's name? I guess he can get away with his hypocrisy...since no one watches anyway...
Olbermoronn continues to compare Obamacare to the auto insurance industry. Like Obama’s MANDATORY health insurance proposal, Keith claims that auto insurance is mandatory for everyone. One question, Keith: Do YOU have auto insurance? The answer is no. Nuf sed.
Flindy, can you please stop baiting him? When he's here, there's chaos, mostly because some people take *his* bait.
Dan, I started pronouncing her last name "Mad-o," too, once I found out she pronounced it that way. I always like to get people's names right. But that's no excuse for Merkle mocking Bush 41 for mispronouncing it. She actually said in a Leno-era "Tonight Show" appearance that she doesn't mind people pronouncing it either way. At least, I think that's what she said; it's been a while since that appearance.
Mike C. pleaded on October 20, 2009 10:52 AM
"Flindy, can you please stop baiting him?
With all due respect to what you do here MikeC, in one word: NO!
If you paid any attention at all MikeC., to this site's lone olbyloon and his MO, you would have noticed that it doesn't take bait per say, to get him to comment. In fact, he rarely responds to any of my posts. Like Olbermann, he carefully chooses his time, when he can either plausibly defend his hero, or distract from one of Olbermann's dirty deeds, by attacking one of the posters here for what they posted about it.
Besides, unless you are a moderator, and can lay down the law, I believe this IS a free forum. Discussing one of Olbermann's sycophants is the same as discussing Olbermann.
So Keithy thinks he is a news show???? Where are differing opinions like Bill O'Reily has? I never see conservatives on his propaganda program. Like the white house, they say they want a debate, but when they get one they make fun of you and try to diminish the other side.
Great pictures of Keithy and madcow together!

Also seen this? Newt supports a progressive in NY. Beware of wolves in sheep clothing.
Also we all need to beware of wolves in sheep's cloths.

Newt is supporting a progressive and calls her the future of the republican party. It is someone Keithy will be proud of!
This is a pict of the monster and his wife!

I'm sorry, Flindy. And I mean that sincerely. I won't stand in your or anyone else's way. If he shows up, I'll duck away until he finally leaves. I only pleaded, and I admit that's what I did, because of the way he's treated me in the past and will continue to treat me if I try to post comments while he's around.
But that's just me. Again, I won't stand in your way.
Keith criticising someone for mispronouncing a name is like Rosie O'Donnell criticising Oprah for being fat. Keith can't utter a coherent thought unless it is scrolling by on his teleprompter. His stumbling and bumbling questions and comments during guest appearances leaves my children laughing hysterically.

This is the 12th day since the current President received the Nobel peace prize.
Flindycon and i can goad him all we want, but MikeH is a coward who won't show up until he can point out how wonderful Olbermann is or how Bill O'Reilly is a hypocrite. Mentioning God might bring him out too.
Where was he when Olbermann was insulting Michelle Malkin? Not here, just like every time Olbermann goes over the line insulting someone, though I'm sure that insulting women is a trivial matter to him.
If MikeH is as decent a human being as he thinks he is (well, more decent than us) he'd have to say Olbermann went overboard. And that will never happen. And just in case he wants to pick that line apart yes MikeH, we know, in your opinion, it doesn't take much to be more decent than us. Play another tune.
MikeH is a hypocrite who gets on us for "nitpicking" on Olbermann then does the same thing to us. MikeH is a coward and it's probably a good thing he's no longer in the military, if you believe he ever was. He's probably not even worth a post, but if you're gonna procrastinate it might as well be here.
Sometimes I wonder if he's even real. If you recall, I'm not the only one:
http://watchingolbermannwatch.blogspot.com/2008/06/olbermann-watch-shows-true-colors-with.html
I was reading an article about sociopaths on the internet the other day and I swear the author was writing it about Keith Olbermann. Here are few excerpts and you tell me if this isn't Olby:
1) He is capable of being furious if he is ignored or is not given what he wants. He has mastered the art of expressing an opinion so forcibly and convincingly that it takes on the appearance of being a fact.
2) His regular tantrums involve swearing, shouting, intimidation and threats. He will wear people down until, for a quieter life, they agree with him.
3) Equally interestingly, he feels criticism and humiliation intensely, even if none is intended or given, and he will fight ferociously to defend what he sees as an attack, whether or not there is one. Sometimes he will create a threat in his mind merely to defend and excuse what he knows to be his own dreadful behavior.
4) This man doesn’t think twice about destroying the reputations, health and well-being or the livelihood of others if they represent obstacles to getting what he wants.
5) Such men will not be happy until they have ripped the very heart and soul out of their victim. Even then, there is no guarantee they will be any happier.
I think those 5 excerpts basically sum up the Meltdown Show every single night. Have you ever seen just one of his shows where he does not smear, demean or belittle a person? No. Attack, intimidate, or get furious? No. Like the author of the article stated...he is the type of person who gets joy out of lying about others, being a hypocrite and smearing on a regular basis.
That is EXACTLY why he does not debate or offer opposing points of view...he cannot take the criticism or humiliation when he is proven wrong. We all know he would get destroyed in a debate and his giant ego could not take the beating. So he sits behind his desk throwing bombs at people and will not go face to face with them.
He is not only a sociopath, he is a coward.
Brad, Mediaite has video of what you were talking about at the top of the thread: What’s More Ridiculous: MSNBC’s New Real Or Fake Keith Olbermann Promo?
The fake one is the one you spoke of.
Via the transcript, Bill O'Reilly was named Worse. Blue blog source: Media Matters, of course. That Media Matters link has a partial transcript of Thursday's Talking Points Memo, but I think I'll just direct you to the original transcript and video.
**O'REILLY: Late Wednesday, Rush Limbaugh was bounced out of contention to buy into a pro football team. That happened because various people, like Al Sharpton, put forth that Mr. Limbaugh had made a series of racial comments and thus did not deserve to be part of the National Football League. That race theme quickly became a hammer used against Limbaugh:
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
[MERCURY MORRIS, APPEARING ON CNN]: I don't see him as much as a racist, as he makes racial remarks, but I see him more as a bigot. And a bigot is someone who, regardless of the facts in evidence in front of them, they still go their own way.
[D'MARCO FARR, ON MSNBC]: All I know is about what I read about Rush Limbaugh. But I do know what he talks about and the line that he tries to play. It's an easy line to play. It's a race line.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
So what's the evidence that Limbaugh is a race-baiter? We investigated the statements that are being tossed about.
The first one allegedly has Mr. Limbaugh praising James Earl Ray, convicted of assassinating Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. There is no evidence Rush Limbaugh ever did that. The accusation comes from a far-left guy named Jack Huberman, who provided no evidence to back up the claim.
Huberman is also the source for Limbaugh's alleged quote saying slavery was not entirely bad. Again, Huberman provided no back up. The allegation was also published on Wikipedia without any sourcing.
Mr. Limbaugh denies making both comments.
Finally, a Kansas City Star columnist named James Fussell quoted Limbaugh as saying bad things about the NAACP. The quote came from a newsletter called "Flush Rush," but so far there is no confirmation that the disparaging remarks were ever made.
So what we have here are accusations without merit, but in our hype-media age that's enough to paint someone as a racist.
I've been through this. A couple of years ago I said on the radio that having dinner in Harlem was the same as having dinner anywhere in America. The context was my grandmother, who was very afraid of blacks even though she never even met a black person. Her fear was irrational, and I made that point quite clearly.
But the vicious Web site Media Matters put forth that I was denigrating a black-owned restaurant, and some people believed it without even listening to the radio broadcast, which I posted on BillOReilly.com.
There goes my NFL career.
Fair-minded Americans know that playing the race card is easy and hateful. The only thing we can find about Rush Limbaugh is that he thinks quarterback Donovan McNabb is overrated by some people who want black quarterbacks to succeed. Mr. McNabb resented the remark, as he should have. He's a good player and his color has nothing to do with his performance. I think Limbaugh made a mistake with that analysis, but that doesn't make him a racist and should not disqualify him from owning part of a team.
Let's stop the racial witch-hunting in America.
And that's "The Memo."**
I think I see why Media Matters fought back. How dare Billo [Ding!] speak ill of their fine organization. By the way, following T-Points was the Top Story segment with Juan Williams and Warren Ballentine. We know by now how *that* segment ended. Ballentine hurled a racial slur at Juan, which he has bragged about since, effectively ending his chances of appearing on "The Factor" again.
Here's what happened on OlbyPlanet last night:
"The bronze to Bill-O [Ding!], claiming that he has the best research staff in the business, and they declared Rush Limbaugh racism free. (Ted Baxter voice): 'Playing the race card is easy and hateful. The only thing we can find about Rush Limbaugh is that he thinks quarterback Donovan McNabb is overrated by some people who want black quarterbacks to succeed.'
Yes, well, of course, that is the fatal quote for which the NFL considers Mr. Limbaugh inappropriate for ownership, since it was expressed far more strongly than that, and it's racism, and it's racism pertaining to football.
But that was the only racist quote? The Media Matters website found 28; from the (easing into mock Limbaugh voice while looking at gotcha paper): we have to hope Obama succeeds or we have to bend over, grab the ankles because his father was black quote, or calling the president and other people Half-rican-Americans quote, or saying the NFL all too often looks like a game between the Bloods and the Crips.
Bill, your research staff couldn't find the relative whereabouts of the ass and the elbow."
Allow me to tap my hand on my forehead to showcase my incredulousness. Good grief. Pinhead doesn't begin to describe it.
That concludes another report from your O'Reilly Attack correspondent.
