The Olbermann Watch Research Division poured through the MSNBC online transcripts to see how much attention was paid to various stories and issues over the past week. Here is what our keyword searches found:

Get ready to recap tonight's Hour of Spin. Comments are open!
I was in a restaurant last night within eye shot of the TV at the bar.
I noticed at half-time Dan Patrick was doing the scores and there was no Olby.
I was in another room so I wasn't really paying attention. Just thought I'd throw that out.
Here's a story I read in today's NY Post on Comcast/NBCU. Rift City?

Doing a great job on "Countdown by the Numbers". I know it's hard work but there are a few other topics you might want to consider:
1) ClimateGate
2) Obama...Olby is so worried about Bush/Cheney/Palin/BOR and Beck that he never has time to mention the current president.
3) Bachmann
4) Biden
5) Cap and Trade
Olby rarely, if ever, is there for halftime of the game.
wpitw abstract
Bronze: Alison Camorata (no video) about abortion in health care bill. Olby being stupid.
Silver: Beck (claims ratings plummet and no video) about the environmental fraud e-mails.
GOLD: Russel Wiseman for blaming Obama for canceling "A Charlie Brown Christmas" Which is a crime, IMPEACH OBAMA and FIRE OLBY!
Remember, if there is no video, Olby is just making it up.
Another award winning countdown to no ratings.
And Keith, It was deliberate. A-HOLE!
J$P linked to Olby palling around with his Kos brethren. Here is the meat of what he said (in my opinion):
"... I read with astonishment here and elsewhere that I am guilty of never presenting conflicting viewpoints. Do you know what the easiest form of 'good tv' is? Put two guys on who disagree with each other and let them yell at each other. I have no doubt I could raise my ratings ten percent by doing that. And I loathe it. I've never seen it illuminate a damn thing. It pains me physically to watch it. And I seen it done, nightly, albeit more politely, on the NewsHour.
I'd rather devote the time to personally rebutting something else that has been let loose into the ether without rebuttal - to putting in a little thought to the equation - than just have conflict because it's pure entertainment. I already did that show, 11 years ago, much against my will and much against my principles.
I am pleased to be able to say that I've never put something on Countdown to toe a party line. I almost lost the show one day when a boss tried to jam a Michael Savage commentary into it. I temporarily lost some political assignments one day when I called the exploitation of 9/11 during the Republican Convention what it was - not what I thought it was, but what it obviously, demonstrably was. I lost a lot of audience by saying what I believed to be true during the primaries last year, and I lost a lot of audience by saying what I believed to be true in Afghanistan last Monday night. So be it. To borrow a phrase: when I wake up in the morning, I only have to decide what the news is and how we are going to cover it. I never have to decide who we are and why we are there.
I would be deeply chagrined to see the NewsHour vanish, or, in fact, do anything but flourish. But when somebody is trying to sell me a product by claiming they are the only ones who don't dirty themselves by trying to sell a product, I am reminded of that phrase 'Fair and Balanced,' and I reach even more quickly to make sure my wallet hasn't been picked from my pocket."
As he blows up over the interupting of the Charlie Brown Christmas, I began to think...he's a dick.
Kids were waiting to see it, only to find out it was pre-empted cause of what really was a speech that could've been made say in the afternoon or something.
ABC had to move it back a week cause of this "important speech". Here Olbermann blows a fuse over all this cause a parent is concerned. Well Keith, have a damned kid and YOU try to explain it to them when they can't see say, Rudolph or Frosty cause you're freakin Messiah gives a speech.
And HEY, not everyone wants to buy a DVD of those shows, it's something for the whole family to get together and watch each year.
So you know, screw you Keith...YOU SIR are the scrooge.
TV Guide's interview with Edward R. Olbermann. The following question may throw a kink in some of your viewing:
TVGuide.com: What do you watch now?
Olbermann: [The Soup] is just brilliant. I like pretty much everything Seth McFarlane puts out. The Simpsons. [David Letterman's Late Show last year and this year] has been fabulously relevant and politically decisive in many respects. ... [Prime Minister's question hour on C-SPAN] is one of the great entertaining shows that just happens to be about politics ... I'm a devotee of the MLB Network. Which I think is an exceptional product. I don't recall a startup doing a better job in terms of what the product looks like.
I hope those at MLB Network aren't devotees of Keith.
well put Meerkat!
About the speech, I lost track how many times Obama has been on prime time. It's getting ridiculous. He's looking like a one-termer the more he does it.
And for what Mike posted. As if anyone needed more evidence that not only is Bathtub Boy a moron. But he's a coward. He's immature. And he's way overpaid.
In his mind he's in the right. But in reality what he does is juvenal and unprofessional. To borrow a phrase “Idiots and lunatics see only their own wit "
Did Keith spend any time on Harry Reid's outrageous statements today on the floor of the senate? You know where he makes opposing health care the moral equivalent to opposing the abolition of slavery?
You'd think Keith is the one that said that, not Senator Voted-Out-Next-November-Hopefully.
Worse source: Talking Points Memo. Poor Bob Beckel. He was the invisible man while Alisyn Camerota and Kate Obenshain were highlighted...and attacked, of course.
So Keith wasn't outraged by the feckless ones statement?
Don't be feckless when corresponding with us.
Don't be feckless when corresponding with us.
Double posting is feckless.
I didn't even realize I did that. I accidentally refreshed the confirmation page and I guess that's what happened. I'm very sorry. I'm also a pinhead.
For the record, TV Guide also interviewed Keith's Olbsession.
Obama, Pelosi, and Reid
Are not what Americans need
Citizens beware
Cap-n-trade and health care
Not jobs... does that make you wee wee'd?
New Obama plans: 'spend our way out' of downturn. From the AP:
WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama outlined new multibillion-dollar stimulus and jobs proposals Tuesday, saying the nation must continue to "spend our way out of this recession" until more Americans are back at work.
*********************************************************************
When will this guy learn that you CANNOT SPEND YOUR WAY OUT OF A RECESSION. A $787 billion stimulus bill last winter now a new "multibillion-dollar jobs bill. It's no surprise he has the lowest job approval rating of any president at this point:
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/12/08/obamas-percent-approval-lowest-president-point/
And it will continue to slide. November 2010 can't get here fast enough. I think Obama knows this and is trying to get all these huge spending bills through Congress because he knows he won't be able to get them passed after the mid-term elections.
