The Olbermann Watch Research Division poured through the MSNBC online transcripts yet again to see how much attention was paid to various stories and issues over the past week. Here is what our keyword searches found:

Notes: Iraq reference count does not include Oralmann's ritual closing mantra.
Get ready to recap another dismal five days of The Hour of Spin...comments are open!
WPITW Abstract:
This is really getting to be too much, so it's going to be more abstract than usual.
Bronze: Beck for his rants on progressives. But my gripe is what Keith said, That Beck was on TV in the morning and on radio in the afternoon. Now, giving Keith the benefit of the doubt, maybe Beck was on Fox and Friends today, I don't know. But Beck's show starts at 5pm eastern. And that Beck's radio show was on in the afternoon, again giving bath-tub-boy the benefit of the doubt, maybe it runs in the afternoon hours in NY. But Beck's show starts at 9am eastern. I say it's senility.
Silver: The Lt. Gov. of SC. For his statements about children on free or reduced lunches having their parents attend meetings.
Now my mom is a 5th grade teacher. And only 1/4 of the parents show up for meetings. And 3/4 (and most of these kids are bussed in). I am in total agreement for his proposal! But sadly, most of the parents don't give a shit.
But Keith's outrage was for another comment (taped) about not feeding strays because they breed. While also true, didn't have anything to do with the first comment.
Gold: BILL-O!!! For tooting FNC's horn while MSLSD did the right thing and showed the Haiti telethon. Also rips O'Reilly for not putting on correspondents (does Keith?) and rips a pro FNC tv reviewer.
Going off the rails. And the hell with him, I'm going to watch Monday Night Raw.
The problem with Olbermann's judgement regarding the poor review of his coverage of the special election is that it was pretty universal. Even leftist sympathizers saw the poor quality of MSNBC political coverage last Tuesday evening, as documented here at OW.
Also, tooting one's own horn is another glass house moment for Olbermann....Recall the diploma episode, recall the "since faux news is really not a news channel I have the number one rated cable news program!" Recall the fixation on COUNTDOWN's ratings success in some demo no one reports, recall his self-important SPECIAL COMMENT on HCR that announced a push to support a charity that brings free clinics to towns. Recall the announcement that he gave a donation to the "It Happened to Alexa" foundation when he had just threatened the foundation because they were going to have O'Reilly speak at a fundraiser.....I could go on for hours.
Hypocritical fool....That is what Olbermann has always been and his WPitW last evening is yet another example. He has tried to claim to be the present day Murrow as he lies, smears, hates and demogogues and then he has the audacity to accuse others of hubris?.....Pathetic.
I'm sure FOX News thanks bath tub boy for all the free promotion he gives them.
Fox News was the top cable network in primetime last week, averaging the most total viewers between January 18th-24th. The last time FNC topped USA and came in first was during the week of the 2008 presidential election.
........
Fox was ranked 3rd in total day. CNN was 22nd in primetime and 19th in total day, and MSNBC was 25th in primetime and 31st in total day.

I've been struggling to access OlbyWatch in the last 17 hours. I'm lucky to get it now.
For his O'Reilly Attack, Oralmann used two Media Matters sources that were debunked in Sunday's Fox Haters Week in Review. From the "Mendacity Matters" part:
"Sometimes it seems like David Brock's Media Matters is deliberately trying to single out Fox News. A shocking claim, but before you dismiss it out of hand, stay with us. On Friday they posted nine paragraphs about something that can be summed up in one sentence: FNC did not air the Haiti telethon. Their headline:
'Fox News stands virtually alone in not airing Haiti benefit concert'
What is 'virtually alone'? Scores of cable channels aired it, but there are hundreds that didn't. Or maybe they're talking about cable news channels. But if so, why didn't Media Matters do a nine-paragraph post about Headline News? They didn't carry it either, yet Media Matters says nothing about them. Why?
The MMers go on to report what O'Reilly covered instead:
Bill O'Reilly aired segments about Sarah and Bristol Palin's 'body language' during their Oprah interview, an interview with Glenn Beck about his first year at Fox News, and a segment on the 'collapse' of the 'far left media.'
Is this summary somewhat incomplete? There's no mention of the interview with Dennis Kucinich, or the report from Haiti on rescue efforts from a collapsed hotel. Now why would Media Matters want to hide that information from their readers? Meanwhile Headline News was airing Nancy Grace and leftist comic Joy Behar; apparently that programming is perfectly acceptable to Brock's brigade: no nine-paragraph post!
...
The MMers went after O'Reilly's Friday Talking Points Memo as well, but in a rather curious manner. The TPM wasn't exactly exhaustive in length: less than three minutes. Yet Brock's boys decided that was too much information, so they used a familiar ploy. Cutting the TPM down to 20 seconds, they posted O'Reilly's conclusion--but none of the examples and data that he gave to support his conclusion! Here is some of what Media Matters didn't want you to hear:
'O'REILLY: When the Massachusetts votes were being counted, Fox News had almost six times as many viewers as MSNBC in primetime, five times the audience of CNN.... The Factor at 8:00 on Tuesday night beat all of ABC's primetime programming that evening....
Writing in the Miami Herald, TV critic Glenn Garvin did tell the truth: 'If you watched CNN or Fox News last night, you got a balanced analysis of how Republican Scott Brown pulled off the political upset of the century...On MSNBC, you got practically every conceivable expression of venom against Brown and anybody who voted him.... It may be too much to expect NBC, these days reduced to a national wisecrack, to be embarrassed over the frothing lunacy that passes for news coverage at corporate stepchild MSNBC.''
There's no way Media Matters was going to post that on their website. Keith Olbermann might complain. So it ends up on Brock's cutting room floor. Oh, another thing sliced out of the MM clip: this graph. Shocker."
Considering the blue blog source, I wrote the following in the FHWiR comment thread:
"Despite what you wrote, Johnny, Rip 'n Read Olbermann will probably use either MM's nine paragraphs or their T-Points video for an O'Reilly and/or Fox Attack tomorrow night."
And sure enough, that's what he did. I replied to comment this way: "Once again, I was right. He chose both MM links and made Bill Worst. In the process, he made two crude sexual jokes about Bill. The gist of it was Bill brings up his high ratings because he's impotent...or something. And Glenn Garvin is 'in Fox's pocket [Ding!].'" Those sexual jokes were front and center in the NewsBusters recap that I linked to.
Noel Sheppard: "MSNBC's Keith Olbermann on Monday told Fox News's Bill O'Reilly to stop 'stroking' himself in front of the American public.
I'm not sure what it is about MSNBC hosts, but the man that has been fixated on the term "teabaggers" for some reason felt it was appropriate to use a masturbation reference during a primetime, national television broadcast.
Not surprisingly, the 'Countdown' host during Monday's 'Worst Person in the World' segment set his vulgar sights on his primary competitor for viewers in the 8PM time slot."
From Olby's mouth: "But our winner, Billo the Clown [Ding!]. About 60 networks carried the Haitian Earthquake telethon Thursday night. CNN did, we did. CNBC didn't. CNN Headline didn't. Fixed News [Ding!] didn't. At least, most of them did not, in lieu of the telethon, instead run a pathetic program whose lead story was about how great the program was and how great its coverage of Haiti had been.
Billo [Ding!] did. (Ted Baxter voice): 'Fox News had almost six times as many viewers as MSNBC primetime, five times the audience of CNN. That's not a victory. ... Now, most of the liberal media ignore that story, and will not tell you how dominant Fox News has become. That's why many newspapers are failing. They simply don't tell you the truth. But writing in The Miami Herald, TV critic Glenn Garvin did tell the truth.'
He then proceeded to read a quote from Glenn Garvin, for years the hands down winner in any poll of newspaper TV writers or of TV people as the TV critic the most in Fox's pocket [Ding!], the farthest down the lunatic fringe [Ding!] rabbit hole. Here we read Glenn Garvin in hopes of seeing something shrill and reactionary to reaffirm that we're on the money.
Instead of two hours to help Haiti, Fox gives us Billo [Ding!]. Instead of here is the phone number to help Haiti, Billo [Ding!] gives himself patting himself on the back and this comic relief Garvin smooching his heinie. Then the coup de grace, (Baxter): 'to be fair, CNN has covered the Haiti story very well. There's no question about it. And I applaud the CNN correspondents who have done such a good job. But our Fox News correspondents are just as good, ...'
*Then why don't you put them on, instead of stroking yourself in front of the American public? Just once. Just an hour off from your desperate attempt to bring validation and meaning into your purposeless little life, by reading out the ratings again. Bill, this is a new emotion for me. I don't know how else to say this: I am now embarrassed for you.* Bill (Baxter): 'I Have Big Ratings; That Makes My Whole Life Worthwhile' O'Reilly, today's worst person in the world."
Sheppard: "Honestly, why is this cable news network so fascinated with penis jokes? General Electric and NBC must be so proud."
Mike C., you should catch last night's "Gregalouge" from red eye.
With a side of Red Eye Robot Theater.
I caught a couple minutes of Keith Goebbels last night and he was talking about Cap and Trade. My God, cap and trade hasnt been a news story in months. Nobody cares anymore about that Mr Goebbels. What's next? You're gonna discuss Michael Jackson's death?
No wonder you're in 3rd place.
Pathetic.
Thanks, Syvyn. I loved it. For the rest of you, here is that Gregalogue.
I want to share a comment I wrote at that NB link. After sharing Rip 'n Read's blue blog sources, I wrote: "As usual, Keith ripped and read, and added his personal attack touch. O'Reilly's reporting on the ratings dominance? He must be compensating for his impotence. Don't make sense of it; it's OlbyLogic."
I'm guessing full on attack on James O keefe. 43 non sotp spit flying camera angle floping nausea inducing minutes and why not if He went after Acorn he must be a radical racist, Because as well all know ACORN = Obama.
Can the orange glow and radical camera changes induce epilepsy? might want a health hazard label on this hour of crap for that reason if not for the toxic nature of the content
Hey KO..when Edwards get the book thrown at him in the next few weeks..how much time are you going to spend on that story..anyone want to take a guess..
I say 10 seconds..
