We're not sure about that, but you won't want to miss Gibson's devastating take-down of Olbermann and Alter's crotch-bomber analysis, and we have the audio for your listening pleasure:
Discuss, resolve, and recap! Recap Thursday's Hour of Spin here too. Comments are open!
wow did anyone see the look on bathtub boy's face when talking about the republicans? he looked like he was going to shoot a walnut out of his butt.
I heard Gibby's show today and going by the articles that I have seen over the past 24 hrs, I think he's really on the way out. However, I'm thinking that he's not going to be fired but a revamping of Coundown show, probably something like Beck's to an extent.
I saw the stewart interview with BOR, I dunno how much looked serious and what was kind of "staged" but it was good and Bill-O didn't hold back.
Oh and 'bout that Limbaugh/Palin thing on the use of the word, "Retard." He's using it in a different tone, not like how Deadfish Rob was using it. Of course she's not going to go after Rush, that would be political suicide
WPITW:
Bronze: Ray LaHood- for saying "hold feet to fire" about toyota
Silver:Duncan Hunter and Frank Gaffney about DADT!
GOLD: Roger Ailes- For having Hannity speaking at a republican convention.
And Keith, since you can't get a speaking gig outside a phone booth, doesn't mean others can't. FNC's rules are not yours. What a retard.
Just to expand, Hannity isn't the "Lead news anchor" for FNC, like you said you were for MSNBC. He's a commentator. And someone will correct me, did Olby call himself a commentator? So what are you Keith? Commentator or lead news anchor? You can be one, can't be both.
And I disagree with Sarah Palin, I like calling you a retard. Cause you are. And I'm soneone who has been called retard by my classmates and relatives for much of my life.
Countdown to the end of Olbermanwatch.com (sniff). Can we change it to so do we trademark maddowwatch.com?
No, there is a maddow watch
http://www.maddowwatch.com/rachel/
Of course Scarborough spoke at Republican events. I don't recall Olby making his boss WPitW. Not to mention Olby contributing to Daily Kos, a blog designed to elect Democrats. Is that appropriate for a "lead news anchor"?
Gibson found Keith's viewer. I knew he was out there. Was that guy named MikeH?
Olbermann should name his show the Animal Farm hour with the the Orwellian speeches he & his sock puppets give.
According to the clock, Olbermann has a little more then a year left on his contract. Comcast won't fire him on the first day.
Now if it was me what I would do is tell Olby that he is going to start to interview opposing points of view. Just like O'Reilly does because I'm the new guy and I want to beat O'Reilly and I want to pull his crowd.
Olbermann will quit before the first interview. Now I've done two things.
I don't have to pay Olby for the rest of his contract, and I can take that money and use it to hire somebody I want.
Gibby is doing a little wishfull thinking here, How does firing everybody and paying them for the duration of their contract help? After I get Olby to quit, others will quit. Therefore I won't have to pay them.
but Olby at 5:53 proves he is totally out to out to lunch with the shoe bomber was compasionate garbage. That's why he is only down to Kool-aid drinkers and the upper west side sect. They play 'Fantasy Politics' the way we play 'Fantasy Football'.
I'm sure everybody would love to see Olby gone the first day (me too).
But how many of you would love to know Olby is sitting home on your stations budget's dime?
As someone with Asperger Syndrome, I've never liked using the r-word. I tend to agree with what Grammie said in the Shuster Robot Theater Friday/weekend thread.
If saying that makes me a killjoy ruining the fun, so be it.
The Kwikest Komment in the World...oops, I mean Kwik Komment: Frank Luntz. "Politico points out that...[yada yada yada]." Politico my ass. Blue blog source: Oralmann's blog. (Yes, it links to Politico, but Kos is where Rip 'n Read heard it first.) Gotcha! The pic is of a Democratic Congressman! Buh-zing! "If I'm the GOP, I'm askin' for my *re*fund!...nooooow!!!"
#2: The Media Matters Minute. As Syvyn pointed out, Worse was Ray LaHood. "Feet to the fire." Wrong choice o' words, sayeth King Olbermahn.
Worser were Rep. Duncan Hunter (R-CA) and Frank Gaffney. Hunter Blue Blog source: Crooks & Schnooks. Gaffney Blue Blog source: Media Matters. "Why is it that the creepiest Republicans bring up subjects like Man on Dog [Ding!] sex? Or bending over and grabbing the ankles? Or...hemaphrodites?" What's your Olbsession *with* all that?
Worst was Roger Ailes, though really Sean Hannity...and Glenn Beck...and Sarah Palin. Blue blog source: Talking Points Memo. Self-righteousness was on display in place of bombast. "Roger Ailes of Fox quote [Ding!] News unquote, today's Worst Person in the World."
Another link from the cancellation speculation front (from Gather.com): Keith Olbermann Counting Down To His Last Show!!!!!!!.
You have Asperger's, Mike C.?
I've been misdianogsed so many times thoughout my life, it's not funny. From mild mental retardation, to full fledged autism to Asperger's and everything in between. Best docs could come up with was multiple issues. It was my sister that suggested Asperger's. She's a special needs education teacher. She hates using the word 'retard' too. And she told me she was sorry for calling me one when we were young.
Yes, I have it. I was diagnosed in '99.
Speaking of the r-word...
#1: Tu quoque: Limbaugh said it, too!
I was afraid that no one noticed my comment the other night, Mike, so I'm glad that some did.
Maintaining standards higher than Olbermann shouldn't be a burden for anyone except the bottom dwellers of Kos and NH.
Are there any links to what he was referring to with Rush other than my having to subject myself to KO's video? I'm feeling a bit frail tonight and just can't take him now.
BTW, I came across this site and some of the comments were really good.
http://www.theblogmocracy.com/2010/02/02/the-fat-lady-sings-for-keith-olbermann/
Here's the transcript from the Rush websight
http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/daily/site_020310/content/01125111.guest.html
To comment on the theory that Olbermann is going to be fired I for one hope it is not true. Instead I would love to see the Comcast guys come in and tell Olby that he has to run his show like O'Reilly's and have on guests he disagrees with. I would love to see him react when he doesn't have all parrots for guests just repeating back what he says. Unfortunatly I would agree that he would most likely quit before he ever had to actaully defend what he says.
I would also like to mention that Olbermann worked 18 out of 20 days in January, well exceeding my expectations. This does not include January 1st but I don't think it's fair to add in holidays.
Pewp,
That would be a great scenario. Don't fire him but make him debate Republican strategists and politicians. I guarantee that he would average 1.5 to 1.8 million viewers a night. Hell, who wouldn't want to watch Olby getting exposed and making him defend his defenseless statements?
But that scenario will NEVER happen. Olby is not quick enough or smart enough to debate people. He needs the safety of his studio. Remember what happened when Howard Dean delivered that smack down over Olby calling President Bush a fascist...and that was Howard Dean!!! Imagine if he had to debate Ann Coulter, Michele Malkin, Rush or Brit Hume...he wouldn't last 10 seconds.
Olby knows this and knows his "safe zone"...do a couple quick komments, bring in a few "yes" men and make juvenile, hypocritical smears against Fox News and pretty, conservative women. That's it. That is absolutely all that Olby is capable of doing.
Did anyone else notice that when Edward R. Olbermann was doing his WPITW schtick tonight that the onscreen graphic when he was naming Duncan Hunter and Frank Gaffney "worser" was a picture of Gaffney and the California Congressman's FATHER, FORMER Congressman Duncan Hunter and NOT the CURRENT Congressman?
That's right. The picture was of [bold]former[/bold] Congressman Hunter.
Some first-rate work by Countdown'c crack "news" people. Some hapless intern will surely go the way of Phil Donohue over this...
I cannot BELIEVE that this crap passes for a "news" show, along with the tingly-leg hour that preceeds it and the Wesley Crusher hour that follows it.
Here's the link to the WPITW segment showing the photo of the WRONG Duncan Hunter with Olbermann babbling incessantly in the background...
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3036677/#35226730
Couldn't find the segment on YouTube, so there's an ad preceeding the video on the MSDNC website. Sorry.
And this clown has the cojones to attempt to ridicule Fox News...
That caller was hysterical. It sounded like Rosie's latest girlfriend. You just can't make this stuff up. Hilarious stuff man, and in hearing Gibson try to guess what the "mans" reason for believing it was too much. All that was missing was a phone call from Elliot Gould and James Brolin explaining how we faked landing on the moon.
Oh, and the hype by the ape ruler over the great thinking of the CIA to get the Christmas bomber's parents involved in their interrogation was maybe even harder to believe than that caller's claim. Jesus, Dr. Zaius, are you telling me that AFTER his parents already called the authorities about how sick and disturbed their son was BEFORE the bomb attempt, and that AFTER it failed that the authorities didn't need to use torture like bad ole' "Mister Bush" would have done because they used common sense in just getting all the info they needed from this sicko with the help of his parents who ALREADY HAD WARNED them about him?
Are you telling me, oh great leader of the apes, that if Bush was at the helm that his men would never have thought to get in contact with these same parents who had ALREADY WARNED them about their son, as they would have just broken out the re-runs of Countdown to torture him without mercy?
Now I ask anybody out there: is he really THAT stupid, or does he think his viewers are THAT stupid? Either way, the insulting of mans intelligence is very much at play here from any clear thinking individual, because his overstated excitement in this case was about as much a "gotcha" moment, as when I first figured out at 4 that Clark Kent was superman. A nice tap on the head was all that was missing along with hearing "smart boy" from Madcow.
How infantile and insignificant a loser the ape ruler is. Jesus, how in the world does he manage to get ANYBODY to watch his show? Oh, after hearing that caller I answered my own question. My bad...
OMG Bill"O relaly pulled the rug right under KO feet last night with his interview of John Stewart. I bet KO reaction when he found out about this was on the level of Hillary reaction to finding out Bill was getting bj from monica l in the oval ofice..I m sure there were a few lamps thrown..and im sure he went home and took a nice warm bath...replaying the interview and drinking some hot coco coco with marshmellows..maybe cruled in the fetal postion?
John Stewart appears on O'Reilly
That's why Bill-O is rated highly
And Olbermahn's not
With ratings he sought
Keith should be Mister O'Wryly
Forget O'Reilly! Nancy Grace knocked him out in the Demo.
http://www.mediabistro.com/tvnewser/ratings/the_scoreboard_wednesday_feb_3_151114.asp#more
If Bush was still in office, you know for sure. Democrat Underground, Daily Kos & Zsa Zsa. would be sending e-mail blasts a plenty over this.
http://www.computerworld.com/s/article/9152238/Reported_Google_NSA_alliance_sets_off_privacy_alarms_
Here's another story you won't hear on Olby's show tonight.
But boy! If FNC would have had this on their Menu, LOOKOUT!
http://www.mediaite.com/online/nbc-cafeteria-celebrates-black-history-month-with-fried-chicken-special/
While you're at it puck30....Olbermann will be a muted mongrel on the following as well:
Obama salutes Navy “corpse-man”
"While speaking at the National Prayer Breakfast, President Obama mispronounced the word 'Corpsman' as 'corpse-man'.
"I can't believe that a guy with a Harvard Law degree wouldn’t know how to pronounce 'corps,' so I'm guessing some dumb staffer in charge of TOTUS decided to try to 'help him out' by typing the phonetic pronunciation — incorrectly — into the machine. And in true Ron Burgundy fashion, O read it as is right off the 'prompter.' You stay classy, Navy corpse-men!"
http://hotair.com/archives/2010/02/04/video-obama-salutes-navy-corpse-man/
###
I was told Obama was the smartest man EVAH to be President of The United States.....Olbermann has some explaining to do.....
He won't, though.....Hypocrite.
Olby has lost it. Edward R. Olbermann is pitching a fit because Brown said "I want to get to work" and "I will put my state first". Olby also is trying to get all sentimental by saying that the interim senator from Mass. should have had one more week of representing the people of Massachusetts.
Yes, that's right, Senator Brown is a "flip-flopper" for wanting to start serving the public immediately. How dare Senator Brown step on the toes of the outgoing interim Sen. Kirk!
Oh, and Sen. Mitch McConnell apparently was too busy "jumping the shark" to pay respects Sen Kirk's farewell address. Bath Tub Boy will probably now ask for the nation's flags to fly at half staff since Senator Kirk has to find a real job again. Damn, he's harping on this like a former President died.
UN-#*$*$#@ WATCHABLE
The first line of his quick comment
"The interrogation of the Christmas Bomber may turn out the be the greater counter-terrorism triumph in American history."
Really Keith, even more so then the breakup of the NYC temple bombings this past summer? The arrest of the terrorist dirtbags in Denver THREE MONTHS AGO?! Even if choses to willfully ignore Cheny's claim that waterboarding of the 9/11 masterminds lead to saving thousands of American lives, he can't actually expect his viewers to forget the major intelligence victories over the last year.
And now Edward R. Olbermann is more than willing to talk about Fort Hood, as he is politicizing the event due to the Christmas bomber providing information AFTER HASSAN ALREADY KILLED 12 SOLDIERS! I don't even know what point he is trying to raise here. Fire this jerk already, he only mentions Fort Hood after Obama's intelligence staff received intel two months after Hasan butchered those great American service men and women.
I really don't think I can watch any more tonight.
Jonathan Turley, lefty "constitutional scholar expert", actually just argued against our government's right kill Anwar al-Awlaki (the Fort Hood cleric) because that would an assassination. He said it would be grossly unconstitutional for the U.S. Government to kill a United States citizen. And Keith wonders why his ratings are in the tank, he invites hack guests who do nothing but promote the non-existent Constitutional rights to former United States citizens who have vowed to destroy America.
Oh, and Olby also just gave a little teaser that he was going to talk about his falling ratings later in tonight's hour of spin. He has already used the "#1 cable news show not on Fox" line three times tonight, so the second quick comment might be a fantastic comedy of errors.
Olbermann might have successfully baited Glenn Beck in to attacking him in the next couple of days.
He actually attacked Beck for using the term "retarded" when Glenn was talking about the difficulties of raising his own daughter who has a developmental disability. For anybody who actually watches Glenn's show or listens to his radio program, he is NO TOLERANCE for people who make jokes out of those with mental disabilities. Either Keith's staff has done no research about Beck's background, or Keith's moral compass is so twisted that he couldn't restrain himself when at taking a cheap shot at Glenn Beck over his daughter's disability.
Oh, and Sarah Palin should apparently be ashamed of for not sticking up to her own disabled child. Some crap about how Rush used the word retarded.
He just did, it was a rehash of last night's lie. And with the added fact that his show in the #1 news show for younger viewers. A DEMOGRAPHIC THAT DOESN'T EXIST!!!!
And that he's valuable to the NBC empire. He's like the Janitor who thinks that he runs the company and if he goes, so goes the company.
So your show works for sesame street crowd. Hell, Keith, those kids could see through your lies too.
WPITW
Bronze; Hannity - claiming that Obama is out of touch. Brings up golf. Shows Bush golf clip
Silver: Some 51 woman for hubby taking cellphone. Stupid, yes, worse, no.
GOLD- BECK-O! For Barry Sorento taking the name BARACK OBAMA! And calling dear leader a radical.
ANOTHER AWARD WINNING COUNTDOWN TO NO RATINGS!!!!
Is Keith really "the #1 cable news show not on Fox"? Yet another Olby lie...
http://tinyurl.com/y8hnaew
I only click over to "Countdown" when O'Reilly goes to commercial break. Doing this the past two nights, I have caught two glaring on-screen errors. Imagine what I'd find if I could stomach the entire show, rather than bits & snippets of it???
The crack "news" staff strikes again...
Tonight, in Edward R. Olbermann's intro to the final segment with the head of the kos kids, he was citing a Daily Kos poll...
No surprise there. Until...
They put up the graphic. Under the MSNBC logo It read:
DAILY KOS RESEARCH 2000
SELF-IDENTIFIED REPUBICANS
Yep. Not a typo by me. RePUBICans.
The graphic comes up at about 25 seconds into the clip:
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3036677/#35248632
Honest mistake? Or more of the same from the giggly bunch that so reveled in their disgusting "tea-bag" references last year?
We report... you act surprised.
Okay, it's the #1 news show not on FNC, CNN, HLN, TruTV, E!, G4, TVG, HRTV and WGN America!
Can someone please explain the diffrence between the "oddball" segmeant and the rest of COuntdown? I think the show is odd in general..I do not see much diffrence between the oddball and the rest of the show???
And this stufff about being the #1 calbe news show not on fox..is kind of like Philies saying they were the best team that didnt win the world serious...???
oh and on a side not Bill O beat Ko by 3,101,000 viewers
BO had just over 4 million Ko had just under 1,000,000
It would take 3 days in total viewers for KO to match that..and that just one day..
I just caught the last few moments of Countdown's 10pm broadcast, and could not help from laughing uncontrollably when DailyKOS founder, Markos Moulitsas made the dubious claim that Republicans are continuing to watch the Fox News Channel because they never represent an opposing viewpoint politically. This was a remark made to support the recent poll by the DailyKOS, which was the topic of Bill O'reilly's talking points memo from the previous evening.
It's simply, and utterly amazing that the founder of a website that blocks anyone from commenting or posting anything even remotely close to representing a conservative opinion, can make such a claim, on a news network, specifically a news program that never allows anyone on that is a conservative or will represent a conservative view.
Not to mention the host of the show Markos was appearing on, frequents his website, and claims that he has never toed a party line.
The audacity of these liberals is simply beyond compare. And, as it's been humorous for me to watch Countdown for years now, I don't think anyone can top this type of ignorance, and self obsession. They must believe the far left followers of Countdown and the DailyKOS are stupid to actually believe a zinger like Markos just threw out into the airwaves this evening. I would love to see a debate between Markos Moulitsas and anyone from the Republican party. But, like Olberamann, he's just not smart enough, or politically intelligent enough to make it more than a few seconds without lying, or reverting to a four year old child...
It's just priceless, comedy television...
I'm new to reading ratings, but am I correct in that mslsd's highest rating came during Sunday's prison shows? wow the ploace place for prison politics i would guess
I couldn't help but notice that over the years here on aperulerwatch how many comments are made from posters saying "after watching" or "I couldn't take anymore, etc..." It seems that no matter how obvious it is what a liar and farce his show is to these posters, that they still will watch it. I would bet that the percentage of people who watch his show overall who can't stand anything about him...not only the ones who post here...may be about 50 percent vs the other 50 percent who are from the planet of the apes.
Pretty sad when you think of it, that every show he may be preaching to half an audience who only watches waiting for his next anti-American over the top lie, so that they can throw things at the TV. Also very ironic...although I have no idea if those percentages are even close, but from what I read here they could be...is that these same people who watch waiting for another train wreck of a show to end may actually be keeping him on the air.
Something to think about people. Watching during the commercials of another show may not boost his ratings, but watching all the way through...even to get a laugh...is doing nothing but keeping him and his ape followers busy.
Kwik Komment #2: Lather, rinse, repeat: the same ratings lies. Ratings grew from December to January! [Ding!] Bullymann mocked people that want the show to be canceled. Okay, he's right. I do want the show to be canceled. But!...but!...I know it won't happen.
#1 got me thinking of a new nickname for the Hour of Spin: "Countdown to World Domination." Ha! How do you like that, you bald-faced liar, you?
From J$P: Countdown's sleazy cheap shot? It's a screencap of a graphic from #1. Part of said graphic read: "Self-Identified Repubicans." Notice the lack of an "L" between the "B" and the "I." Before I jump into a Krazy Konspiracy Theory, I think it was just a typo. "The Factor" makes typos, too.
I only suffered through the second half of the show tonight but even that was nauseating. Therefore let me spew my opinions here.
First, why does Keith uses metrics to gauge his success that no one else in the industry uses? Keith, if you were to accept you have a problem then you can start to work to fix it. Instead you create these lies to justify your awful show, much like other addicts always find excuses to justify their addictions. The first step in any good program is to first admit you have a problem.
Second, do you think that if you say your competitors are not news shows that it will be true? Claiming your show is somehow not opinion show and therefore can not be measuered against Fox, CNN or HLN is not helping your cause. Own up to the fact that you are number 3 and sinking and then go forward from there to build a better product.
Third, how can you possibly attack an entire news network for being biased when you have never had an opposing voice on your program? You want to know why conservatives only watch Fox? It's because they get both sides of the story at Fox. Even most liberals now realize this, they don't turn in to Fox to see the conservative side, they tune in to get both sides. Your network is so mis-trusted by americans because it is nothing but non-stop liberal spin with no countering view point.
Fourth, attacking conservatives because of a poll by Daily Kos is insane. Do you think an extremely partisan group like DKos can put together a legitamate poll? How many self identifing conservatives do you know that would waste one minute of their time talking to someone from the Kos polling center? If you want legitimacy then commision a third party non-partisan polling company to do the work.
Fifth, quit telling people to resign, it is extremely childish. Why is it you feel compelled to insist that everyone who disagrees with you should resign? Is it because you know your grasp on facts is so tenuous that your only hope of victory is to get the other side to stop talking? Show a little maturity and invite the people you don't agree with to come on your show and then prove with facts why you are right and they are wrong.
Sixth, stop making asanine statements like the Christmas bomber is providing the greatest intelligence information in this nations history. Statements like that are petty, uninformed, patenly ridiculous and quite honestly make you look like a fool. Having a man talk about a two month old terrorist attack is a bigger intelligence breakthrough then code breakers cracking the enigma code during WW2? I can not even fathom what goes through your mind at times like this.
Seventh, admit what you are, a left wing political commentator trying to puch a view point and not a legitimate news caster as you delude yourself into believing. No one would care if you came out and admitted you are using your air time to try to counter balance conservative talk hosts like Beck, Limbaugh or Hannity. Admit it and maybe you will gain some viewers, now when you try to push the "I'm impartial and not towing a party line" spiel you turn off all the rationale people who use to watch your show and see it for the lie it is.
Eigth, stop with the jealous attacks on conservative women who show success in their fields. It doesn't help your cause when you continually make sexist attacks on women because they are strong minded conservative women who hold different opions then yourself, stop attacking them for their looks.
Keith, you are teetering on the edge of a precipe. As much as you would wish it weren't true the ratings don't lie. Your show is consistently coming in under one million veiwers and your numbers in the key demo are dropping dramatically. It's time for you to take a long, hard look at the program you put your name on and realize that it is not a quality product. I would like to say it's not to late to fix this but unfortunately I have watched you for to longand know you are not one to take criticism well. Hopefully Comcast can set you straight but somehow I feel your days and numbered and for that I am truly, dreadfully sorry.
On a completely different note I am amused by the DKos poll. Sure conservatives have their fair share of nuts but what I would love is to see an equivalent for liberals. Some questions I would ask are:
Do you believe that George Bush stole the 2000 election against Al gore?
Do you believe that George Bush should have been impeached?
Do you believe that George Bush should be charged with war crimes?
Do you believe that the Bush administration either played a role in 9/11 or else planned it?
Do you believe George Bush invaded Iraq in order to gain personal wealth?
Do you believe Dick Cheney is the anti-christ?
Do you believe that the fetus deserves any rights?
Do you believe the moon landing was faked?
Do you believe that George Bush stole the 2004 election against John Kerry?
Do you believe the founding fathers intended this country to be run as a democracy?
Do you believe the constitution guarentees you a right to vote?
Do you believe that animals deserve the same basic rights as human beings?
Do you believe that anyone who murders a pregnant woman should be charged with two deaths?
Do you believe that carbon dioxide is going to destroy the earth?
Do you believe George Bush was a fascist?
Do you believe US citizens have a right to bear arms?
Do you believe that all income over $50,000 should be taxed at a 100% rate?
There's probably a lot more crazy stuff out there that liberals believe that I have missed. I actaully think I will ask the liberals I know these questions to see what they say, I got the feeling these people are crazier then even I suspect.
From Olby:
"And yet the right wing believes that Countdown is about to be cancelled, because it so desperately wants it to be cancelled, that the facts, and the ratings, and the profits, become irrelevant. And it is better for them to pretend they are getting their way, than to acknowledge that they are not."
Now why would the right wingers want Olby's neutral show be cancelled?
http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2010/2/5/0455/20376
Hey CountDung, thanks for that link. I have to comment.
Keithy writes to his adoring fanclub, the KosKiddies:
"But nearly 30 years ago I began to have the singular experience of being written about and found it instantly valuable for any journalist or writer, because you get to watch in real-time as other journalists and writers make mistakes, flub facts, mishear quotes, or, often, deliberately lie, leave out inconvenient facts, or throw the ones they do use completely out of proportion."
Has this guy ever sat down to watch HIS OWN show? Because he JUST DESCRIBED HIS BEHAVIOUR ON HIS OWN SHOW!
Keithy continues his case to his adoring Kiddies:
"Only you know the literal truth (if you're lucky), and thus only you can fully measure how goldarned wrong the other guy is. It would make me shudder to think that I might be trampling over as many sweet tulips of accuracy in my own work."
Now, all one has to do is search the archieves, either here, or at Newsbusters, or $J's, or any number of blogs, and one can see many, many examples of Keithy doing just that type of "trampling over as many sweet tulips of accuracy" on HIS OWN SHOW!
This brings up two questions to sane minds, of which, IMO, only one of the two can be answered, and the answer can only be yes or no:
1. Does this guy actually understand that he is guilty of what he accuses others of, but continues on with his game anyway, laughing all the way to the bank?
2. Does this guy actually believe what he writes, and believes he is innocent (despite the overwhelming evidence to the contrary) of what he just wrote?
A yes to either the above is not good, because if the answer is yes to #1 above, he is playing his adoring Kiddies like a fiddle. Even so, I am hoping for Keithy's sanity, that the yes answer is behind #1, because if it isn't, well, to borrow Keithy's own words, I "shudder to think" that yes follows #2.
Keith Olbermann does not care about what we think of his show. He knows what he is doing and that is spouting progressive propaganda. His show is so full of lies and distortion I'm surprised it's lasted this long. A reputable news organization would have put an end to that show a long time ago. I don't know if Olbermann actually believes the crap that comes out of his mouth, but the few viewers that watch him believe him. I don't think he has a guilty conscience about it either.
If Fox News is not news and not irrelevent, then why is Keith so obsessed with it and it's commentators and anchors? He doesn't do a show unless he is trashing Fox and it's people. Has anyone noticed how immature he acts on his show when it comes to certain ladies in politics or a certain lady who was in a pagent last year? How lame was it when he named Glenn Beck his WPITW last night and all he could do was make fun of his name. That's extremely childish and petty. I guess keith is a 13 year old boy trapped in a fat, bloated, out of shape 50 year old man's body. Ann Coulter said he was a woman trapped in a man's body. I guess both could be true.
I was watching Red Eye last night when Greg Gutfeld made an excellent point about liberals and the liberal media. He was discussing the exchange between Jon Stewart and Bill O'Reilly about Fox News' coverage of President Bush compared to President Obama and how Stewart basically said Fox gave Bush a pass while going after Obama. This is a totally absurd statement to begin with but Gutfeld took it a step further, particularly with Iraq war. Gutfeld states, "Ask yourself, where is this feverish anti-war movement now that Obama is in power?". He went on to say, "What happened to that whole "dissent is patriotic" crap? It seems Fox News only looks right, because everything else is left."
Which brings me to Olbermann. Night after night he criticized the Iraq war, President Bush and talked about troop casualties. 13 months into the Obama presidency, why does Olby remain silent about this issue? The US is still in Iraq and Afghanistan fighting the war on terror. What has changed, besides presidents, to make Olby cease his rants about the wars? Where is all the media reports of the war protesters? Where are the daily casualties numbers? Did he rethink his position?
I think you all know the answers to these questions. Olby is such a partisan hack that he will do anything to push the liberal agenda. Hopefully Comcast will see this problem and realize you need balance in the media to get ratings, i.e. advertising dollars, and bring in some conservative hosts to counter balance Olbermann, Maddow, Shultz, Matthews, Shuster, ect.
Olby will stay with MSNBC at least through his existing contract so we are stuck with him for at least another year to document his lies, hypocrisy and blatant partisan politics.
From the Kos diary, here's a quote from KO
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This goes back and forth fairly regularly, but it underscores the definition of "news" channels:
a) Just Sports scores
b) Missing white women and everybody's guilty
c) Politics
d) Politics from the far right
e) just Weather
f) Propaganda
g) News, sometimes politics, sometimes Michael Jackson
h) just business
If you say all of the above, the winner, by miles, is "A". If you start dropping items from your menu, the list order changes.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
I wonder if he thinks his show is C and not F. I would have at first thought he put G in as self deprecating humor but we are talking about KO and his fragile self image does not lend itself well to introspection.
That's a great post p-head. I would love to see a poll of those questions asked to Kossacks, and hear them try to defend the results. Nearly 100% of them would answer yes to questions 1-5, 7, 9 just to name a few. Now, of course, it is completely predictable their response to such a poll. They simply believe, as does Kieth that they represent the views of most Americans, and that George W. Bush did steal the election, that he did have a hand in 9/11, that he did mislead the American people into the Iraq war. They honestly feel that they are right about all of these beliefs and that those who disagree are the slim minority of gun-toting, redneck, FNC watching Sarah Palin lovers who apparently all of whom traveled to Massachusetts to force the upset in the recent Senate election.
More predictions, tonight's Countdown will of course feature Fox News Bashing (that goes without really saying anymore), and he will take the new unemployment numbers that fell 0.3% and echo Obama's speech today that he has rescued America from a depression.
A personal touch, if the unemployment numbers are falling, then, do we still need a jobs bill?
If Abdul Mutallab is spilling his guts, then why is Guantanamo still open? Why is rendition still an option? Why are we even at war, if we know that flying all of our captured prisoners parents to America will get them divulge all of Al Queda's secret locations and upcoming plans of destruction?
If Limbaugh should apologize for satirically using the word "retarded" to poke fun of Rahm Emanuel, then shouldn't you apologize for all the racist, sexist, and misleading comments you've made in the past decade?
I take back what I said about "Repubicans" being a typo. J$ wrote the following in this thread:
"Well consider the facts. The term 'repubican' is a common one at Daily Kos; you can find hundreds of examples. By coincidence Olbermann's blog of choice is Daily Kos. And this is a Daily Kos poll--another coincidence. And who was Olby 'interviewing' in this segment? Why Daily Kos himself. It could have been a simple typo despite this string of coincidences. Or it could have been deliberate."
So, I replied: "Having learned that, I am certain it was deliberate." Expect nothing less on OlbyPlanet.
Is this a possible scenario?
The info was sent directly from Kos with Kos'es headings and no one either caught it or bothered to change it. Info is so easy to exchange in toto today as opposed to the past when there was no scanning or C&P.

To add to your list p-head, a great list by the way:
Do you believe that terrorists should be given the same rights as any common criminal?
Do you believe that the benefit of the doubt should be given more to the terrorists than to Americans?
Do you believe that any war America is in is wrong unless it's one where a Democratic President sanctions it?
Do you believe that George Bush gave the order to bomb the dams during Katrina?
If push came to shove, would you believe a terrorist's word over a Republican?
Do you believe that most people in the armed forces enjoy killing innocent civilians?
While boarding a plane do you view a white man as more suspicious than a man of Middle Eastern decent?
Do you believe that there are more homegrown terrorists than foreign?
Do you believe that the reason for Middle Eastern terrorists is because of America's policies towards other countries?
Did you enjoy hearing about American's dying in Iraq when Bush was president?
Do you think that Major Hassan was nothing more than a nut, and not a terrorist?
If you answered yes to ANY of these questions, then you not only are an anti-American, but you are seriously ill and therefore should not be allowed to vote in any political race because the stability of the US could be adversely affected....Oops, my bad, you guys did that already now didn't you?
I have to get something out of the way: I had no idea that the elder Duncan Hunter had retired and his son (Duncan D. Hunter) had replaced him (after being elected in '08). As TMcGee noted, it was the younger, and current Congressman, Duncan Hunter that made the comment on NPR.
