Props to IMAO for this delightful little creation:
Note: MSNBC has not posted Friday's transcript yet so our 'Countdown By the Numbers' post will be delayed until tomorrow. Ergo, use this thread to recap tonight's miserable Hour of Spin. Comments are open!
WPITW: Bronze: Qualye? Really? Got your finger on the pulse of the body politic, Keith! This is the first time Dan Qualye's name has been on any news program in 10 years! This will turn your ratings around. What did he do to incur Bath-tub-boy's wrath?
Silver: Who cares
Gold: Dick Morris- for once again seeing the truth that Olby won't about terrorism.
Another award winning Countdown to cancellation!
And here comes the pathetic comment. Using big words like he's somebody.
It feels like groundhog day again @ countdown. Olby calls all tea party folks racist. Yada yada blah blah. Didn't this attack line go out of style sometime last August? I'm not sure what this comment had to do with Presidents Day either.... Anyone know? The tone of this Special Comment was pretty toned down compared to others but it was BY FAR the most delusional in a long long time.
It was a horrible seven minute rant, does this idiot realize that the very founding fathers he and other ppl admire were just as racist as some where in the 60's?
And give it up 'bout your Dad watching Satchel Paige pitch. And I suppose your mom sold drinks to Custer at Little Big Horn too. Enough already.
Look Heir Olbermann, there are minorites at these events. Maybe they don't want to be seen as to some ramifcations of where they work, ever think about that dough boy? Huh? I thought not...but lets continue
I'm in Texas and you can bet your ever expanding waist size that there were minorites here attending those rallies. They're just as pissed off as the rest of us.
Worry about your boy Maddow, who applied to work at FOX News back in '07. Bet that just eats ya up huh? Well, when you two are fired, at least Rachel will have a place to go, where will you end up? MLB Network, or something KOS produces.
Seth MacFarlane was named a pinhead tonight for taking a shot at Sarah Palin in last night's "Family Guy" episode. So, expect Seth to show up on the Hour of Spin tomorrow or Wednesday.
Note to MLB Network: Do not hire Keith Olbermann!
Keith "Chicken and Waffles" Olbermann is preaching about racism...
Seth MacFarlane also gave us this gem (from Family Guy's Peter Griffin):
"White people become Mexicans. Mexicans become gay... everyone goes down a notch"
Maybe Olberracist will bring up THAT quote in his upcoming interview with MacFarlane?
NewsBusters has the transcript to Keith's Special Komment here.
Speaking of Harry Reid: "... sometimes with a kind of *poorly informed benign phrase* like Harry Reid’s comment about dialect ..."
Speaking of Bill O'Reilly, and lying again: "sometimes with the *lunkheadedness of surprise* that no one is screaming, 'M-Fer, I want more iced tea,' at a Harlem restaurant."
It doesn't matter how many times that lie was debunked; Keith still believes it, as do all O'Reilly haters, and anyone else that doesn't know the context. So, allow us to go back in time:
"Recently on the Radio Factor, I did an hour on how racism is dumb. We didn't hear one complaint about the show that ran on more than 400 radio stations. But yesterday Media Matters distorted the entire conversation and implied I was racist for condemning racism."
And here is the full transcript of that September 25, 2007 Talking Points Memo.
Deep inside every one of us, racism still exists....because we are white.
How does it feel, all of you evil racist bastards?
Also, great analogy on the stove Edward R. Olbermann. Remember, for all of you with little ones out there, Keith's expectation is for you to first tell your kid not to touch a hot stove, and then tell him/her to beware of all black people. Don't get the order mixed up, Olbermann's stereotype of how all of you knuckle-draggers/mouth breathers/teabaggers/racists raise your EVIL WHITE children must be affirmed!
I really get a kick when this blob mentions how horrible conservatives raise their children. This coming from a man whose genetic line will (luckily) end when he kicks the bucket.
His comment tonight was beyond pathetic. There was anger, but you could tell he was obviously deflated. It's as if he spontaneously realized how irrelevant he has become in the middle of his melodramatic tirade.
According to his logic that white people are racist because they tend to socialize with white people, wouldn't the congressional black caucus fall under the same standard? Look around during their meeting, it's all black people, Oh wait, they're all Democrats, who are incapable of being racist.
By HoneySmacks on February 15, 2010 11:03 PM
Deep inside every one of us, racism still exists....because we are white.
Only the delusional ape ruler would come up with anything close to this bit of reasoning, and if this is so oh Ape Ruler then I guess it isn't a stretch to think that deep inside everyone of us we are murderer's because our fathers tried or succeeded to kill during a war. That deep inside everyone of us we are gay because we haven't done a homosexual act. That we are superior because we are white/black. That we are inferior because we are white/black. That we are racist because we don't know Spanish.
Jesus, I think to even TRY to reason any of this sick man's ideas, it makes me feel as dirty as he is. How in the world does he have more than 10 followers none the less close to one million?
During the Simpson trial I'll never forget one black pundent stating why the jury...which was predominantly black...voted not guilty, and it was to his reasoning that it was their experience with white cops that made them not trusting of them. He said he also felt the same way. When he was asked what were his bad experiences with them, he stated that it was his FATHER who had told him that they can't be trusted. THIS was HIS experience with the bad white cops that made him not trust them. In other words, being TOLD that a certain type was bad MADE it so.
Not unlike the ape ruler, and his followers, for if they HEARD it therefore it must be true. Pathetic is just too simple a word for this lousy excuse for a human being, and we can only hope that one of these days he actually has to answer for all his lies.
One sick, sick, whitey wipe...
How about barbermonger or fop?
I have a two question for Keith.
1) How many tea party rallies have you attended?
2) How many tea party rallies have you seen on TV? And I'm not talking about your own network because MSNBC would NEVER distort the truth or edit their video, right?
http://www.youtube.com/watch#v=1Jwg-f3dqN4&feature=related
Oops.
Of course the media isn't going to show any black people at the tea party rallies...especially MSNBC.
Keith is grasping at straws. He cannot defend Obama's policies so he has to smear the Tea Party by calling them racist.
Maybe Keith should interview Lloyd Marcus, singer/songwriter, black conservative activist and participant on the national Tea Party Express II tour, and ask him if the Tea Party is racist.
http://www.americanthinker.com/2009/11/tea_party_express_ii_tour_its.html
Lloyd refused to responded to a female newspaper reporter who portrayed the Tea Party as "racist" or "an angry mob":
"She walked away probably thinking I was a jerk or a nutcase, but I did not care. I took it personally, her attempting to trash the people I have met across America and have come to love and respect. How dare she trash my family?"
"Folks, the Tea Party Express II Tour was my third time traveling and participating in rallies across America. I have met and embraced the American people and they me. They call me brother because we share values. They are not racists. They are hard-working, decent people concerned for their families, grandchildren, and country."
********************************************************************************************************************
Keith's Special Ed Komment didn't surprise me at all. He has nothing else left. No defense, no facts and he cannot debate the policies or defend the outrageous government spending under President Obama. When he cannot debate the facts he attempts to marginalize and smear...that is what he is all about. It's commonplace for him. He's Janeane Garofalo in drag.
I actually think he is helping the Tea party movement and the Republican party. Look at what this attitude did for the Democrats in New Jersey, Virginia and Massachusetts. So I say keep spewing your factless hate, Keith. It will only helps us in November.
I didn't watch the show but I read the transcript of Keith's comment and I have to say he really blew it. Tea Party members are rascists? Well of course but look who else Tea Partiers don't like:
1) Nancy Pelosi - That's right tea party members are not only rascists but also sexists
2) Harry Ried - That's right tea party members are not only rascists and sexists but also ageists
3) Barney Frank - That's right tea party memebers are not only rascist, sexist and ageist but they are also gayists? homoists? LGBTQists? I think Keith should make up a word here (unless we fall back to homophobic put really that's an irrational fear term, not a hating term)
4) Al Franken, Bernard Sanders, Barbara Boxer and Dianne Feinstein - That's right tea party members are not only rascist, sexist, ageist and LGBTQist but they are also anti-semites.
So it seems Keith really missed an opportunity here to stick it to those rascist, sexist, ageist, LGBTQists anti-semites by only going after the rascist part.
Or does he really know that the Tea Party movement is about creating a responsible government and not hate? Having to feed the crazed progressives their daily dose of hatred has truely corrupted Olbermann's soul.
PS. If you haven't heard about the blog hillbuzz.org I suggest you check it out. Here is a group of homosexual men that realized where the real hate in this country lives. There is no greater voice for a movement than converts.
Don't forget Ted Kennedy, I think those horrible tea party participants hate the dead. How horrible of them to attack those who can't respond to the charges! HOW DARE THEY! Don't they believe in the basic right to confront your accuser?! Tsk tsk, and I thought they supported the Constitution.
When I found out Keith was gonna do a Special Komment I tuned in at 8:59 PM. Every time he does a Special Komment and hands it off to Rachel her facial expression is IDENTICAL. She ALWAYS has that pained look with a sympathetic brow. It is absolutely PRICELESS. I was waiting for it...then she did it (again)...and I literally laughed at loud. Watch for it next time or try to find it on video because it is hysterical. She acts like Keith just told his audience the world is going to end in 5 minutes.
Brad90956, when Mr. Maddow gets that pained, sympathetic look on her face, she looks just like Ron Reagan. It's truly priceless.
Keith and his "chicken and waffle"
His racism rant just awful
White people he'll hate
But he won't integrate
Calls a loofah a falafel
Dear Abby, I have a "friend" who's racist...
"He" pretends he isn't, but I know deep in his soul he is because my "friend" is simply "scared of change."
Any suggestions for helping my "friend" admit his fear of the darkies -- I mean African Americans.
Yours faithfully
Edward R. Olbermann, host of a famous TV show.
PS
My imaginary "friend" thanks you too.
Olby responds to his own racism, misogyny via Kos:
BHO enjoys 95% support among blacks, but it is somehow proof of racism when there are few blacks present at events that mainly oppose his agenda?
The racism bludgeon is wearing a bit thin these days.
Are you suggesting that we can't disagree policy wise with someone of color without being a racist?
There are fringe elements in all movements. To suggest that the movement is based on racism is a stretch, and merely chips away at your own diminishing credibility.
Can we assume that not just Keith, but all progressives are misogynists because of comments on Michele Malkin being "a mashed up bag of meat with lipstick?"
by Vermont Native on Mon Feb 15, 2010 at 05:00:39 PM PST
Keith responds:
I called NFL players that all year long on NBC. It's from a very short-lived HBO series called "Eastbound And Down."
The precise quote is about the lead character, a failed baseball player:
Hey, you're never gonna believe who's sitting in front of me. Kenny f****ng Powers. No s**t. Yeah, it's him. No, hell no, he looks like s**t. He looks like a big bag full of mashed up ass****.
Sorry. The 'misogynistic' quote refers to a guy. Nice try, though.
"If you're going through hell - keep going!" -- Winston Churchill
by Keith Olbermann on Mon Feb 15, 2010 at 09:43:05 PM PST
********************************************************************************************************************
So the misogynistic quote refers to a guy? Keith still doesn't answer the question posed by the blogger. So we can't oppose Obama's policies without being racist? Notice how Keith totally sidesteps the question and uses this lame excuse to be a misogynist? What about all the female Fox News broadcasters? Sarah Palin? Or any other conservative woman you've obsessed about over the past year?
On to his "Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles" quote on Sunday Night Football:
On September 9 on NBC's "Football Night in America," Mr. Olbermann spoke of Roscoe Parrish of the Buffalo Bills.
With the Denver drive having stalled, Roscoe Parrish on the punt return. Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles at its finest.
Which goes to show, "What comes from ones mouth comes from ones heart."
by WilliamTell on Mon Feb 15, 2010 at 08:04:04 PM PST
Keith responds:
Dear WilliamTell,
There is, literally, a franchise in Southern California called "Roscoe's Chicken And Waffles." And it is food at its finest. Used to order dinner delivered from there a lot in my LA days as they were up the street from the KCBS studios. Only other time I've heard the name "Roscoe" in public in twenty years, unless you count the great voiceover announcer Rosko.
And, by the way, before cutting-and-pasting Conservative talking points, do a google search. You "remember (my) comments.. on September 9 on NBC's 'Football Night In America.'"
September 9, 2009 was a Wednesday. The football show is on Sundays. So the remark you "remember" is from September 9, 2007.
Seriously, could you try a little harder?
by Keith Olbermann on Mon Feb 15, 2010 at 10:04:58 PM PST
********************************************************************************************************************
So let me get this straight. OK, there is ACTUALLY a Chicken and Waffles joint in LA, so what? Why did you use the reference? Don't you understand that is a racist comment? But using Olbylogic, it is not racist because he "used to order" food from there. Would you give a Conservative host or radio personality a "pass" if they had used that reference just because they "used to order" food from there?
Notice again that Keith does not explain anything. He sidesteps the question again. Instead he focuses on the DATE the blogger used to try and discredit him.
Nice job, Keith. And I thought you couldn't debate anyone. Geeez!!!
And of course the Kids rallied to his defense. They proclaimed Keith as a great civil rights activist, the true voice of reason and the greatest human being to ever walk the planet.
I don't know who is the bigger lunatic...Keith or the Kos Kids.
Here is the story and comments if you want to take a look. Viewer Caution: Reading this article and comments will cause a loss of at least 15 I.Q. points.
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2010/2/15/837380/-Special-Comment:-Tea-Parties-And-Race
I would love for someone to ask KO one thing....do you know who Kenneth Gladney is?...the BLACK man who was beating by Pro-Obama SEIU Union thugs for handing out flyers during a Town hall meeting against the Dems Healthcare plans..now we know the Town Hall protests were the start of the Tea Party movement and treated much the same way by KO and the rest of the MSM.,,,,
We were warned by KO and others that these "Tea Baggers" were dangerous and violent and Racist but so far the only violence has been directed at them and the first victim was a Black guy.
We know there are many Non-Whites at these events but MSNBC and other networks avoid showing them or in MSNBC case cropping them out of a shot to push the "Racist Tea Baggers" story...if the claim is your a Racist movement if you don't have enough Non-Whites around..then MSNBC better look at themselves because there are a heck of a lot more Black people at a Tea Party meeting than on their on air line-up. New Murrow's indeed.
His explanation of the mashed up bag of meat quote makes absolutely no sense. So he was referring to an HBO show when he specifically called Michelle Malkin a "mashed up bag of meat with lipstick"? Even though he added the lipstick comment, CLEARLY IMPLYING HE WAS REFERRING TO A WOMAN? Sure thing Keith, keep on believing the public actually buys that explanation.
According to this jerk's reasoning, any line ever stolen from a movie, TV show, radio show, etc. can never be taken out of context from the original source, even if you substantially alter it, don't reference the source, and change the recipient of the quote? In honor of that revelation, Keith Olbermann, you're one ugly mother#$%$er. Of course, I wasn't referring to you, even though I specifically addressed the sentence at you. Obviously I am referring to Arnold's opinion on what a Predator looks like.
Oh darn! I'm sure Olby would be all over this story if it wasn't for that 'left-wing' stuff.
"A family source said Bishop, a mother of four children - the youngest a third-grade boy - was a far-left political extremist who was “obsessed” with President Obama to the point of being off-putting."
http://www.bostonherald.com/news/regional/view.bg?&articleid=1232943&format=&page=1&listingType=Loc#articleFull
Unfortunately, I went over to KOS and read the comments. I think I have may have lost some IQ points, but I'll get them back later when watching Springer. :)
First off, Keith, you're an a-hole. Your "chicken n waffle" comment is (what you and your liberal assed cronies are calling it these days) racist. Its your own group, this "PC" world, that has put us in this state we're in now.
Pretty soon, literally everyword we say that isn't approved by the PC police will be looked upon as something racist.
Fact is fact Keith and KOS kool-aid drinkers there. You know what another name for "sling shot" is down south? Thank you. You know what a term is use for doing something halfway and not totally done? You got it. It can be modified to different ethnic terms as well, but the "PC" word could be "jury rigged." BUT, if you want to get technical and you freaks out there are. Jury rigged could be considered not PC as well because your saying that jury's are biased, so there.
Come clean and admit you're a hack, you failed as a sportscaster, that's why ESPN won't have you back cause you thought you were a bad ass and burned all the bridges there. I'm sure Dan Patrick can barely stand you, along with your fellow MSNBC people. Oh, speaking of them...how are ALL the minorites over there? Huh? With the exception of Tamara Hall and Lester Holt, where are they? When last I looked Hall was "demoted" to another time slot no one cares about. Holt, technically is on NBC on weekends, but he's not on MSNBC anymore.
And don't throw in MTV news reject Allison Stewart into that mix, she's just a fill in. And besides she married a network guy so that's where she is. Now granted she's not as lucky as Maddow and how she got her gigs, but you get the picture.
So Keith, how does it feel waking up every morning on that re-inforced bed ALONE, knowing that with the exception of you not living in your folks' basement you are the perfect example of a reject with a degree who gets people to FEED you information, being true or false into making you this "New Murrow" you want SO BAD.
Murrow is rolling in over in his grave thinking to himself, who is this bloated ass guy think he is? Half of Bob and Ray (whom you claim to idolize along with Python's who truly can't stand you) is rolling in the grave too for watching YOU rip off their act.
