The Olbermann Watch Research Division poured through the MSNBC online transcripts yet again to see how much attention was paid to various stories and issues over the past week. Here is what our keyword searches found:

As the chart makes clear, Edward R Olbermann is a serious newsman, who doesn't fritter away his precious broadcast minutes on irrelevancies, petty attacks, or side-issues that distract from the important news of the day. Except when he does. Get ready to recap tonight's Hour of Spin...comments are open!
ok 8 minutes before the show..
and I'm going out on a limb, and say its going to be sarah palin bashing baluza tonght
Story 1-5 about her
she will be wrost person
I say Worst will be Hugh Hewitt (or at least a comment about him). On CNN's Reliable Sources, Hewitt called out Olby as nothing more than a dumb sportscaster who gets his copy fed to him.
WAY TO GO HUGH!
5 is about Palin- titled "talk to the hand"
She did a speech with a few keywords on her hand and she is stupid.
While a (allegedly) Harvard Educated Constitutional Law Professor needs a teleprompter for a speech to 6th graders and mispronounces "Corpsman" three times is the smartest man ever to be president?
Am I getting this right?
The special comment where he put lipstick on his palm and pretended to be a Sarah Palin hand puppet was beyond words. Really, we have to get that posted ASAP. Describing it in words does not do justice to the immaturity that was displayed.
Sounds like that might be a candidate for Great Moments in Journalism.
In addition, Olby is now a football defensive coordinator. He is blasting Phil Simms for his on-air commentary when he said that New Orleans should fall back into pass coverage instead of blitzing on the play they returned for a touchdown in the 4th quarter. Way to go Olby, you were able to figure out that blitzing the quarterback worked 24 hours after the game went down. Why are you banned from ESPN? Oh, probably because your condescending jackass tone and smug grins make everybody despise you.
Edward R. Olbermann, Monday morning quarterback extraordinaire!
WPitW abstract: For Monday.
Bronze: Ed Sheehee about toyota's problems, he pulled ads over bad news coverage. Olby doesn't understand free market. Ratings prove that. Olby also treads into libel.
Silver: Bill-O and Rove-O: For telling the truth about Barry-o being a socialist.
Gold: US Senate committee on indian affairs. Bitches about how bad things are for them. Well, bitch about Obama about it, he fixes everything. Obama is god, don't you know.
ANOTHER AWARD WINNING COUNTDOWN TO NO RATINGS!
Kreative Keith does it again. "Tea Klux Klan". Inspired.
I am going to have to second the opinion that Olby was treading into libel territory there over the Toyota dealer. Of course, NBC is the network of known "investigative journalist" television producer Michael Gartner, the guy who rigged Ford Explorers with excessive fuel by the engines and waited for them to explode as they rolled over. Then he did a Dateline special about it and lost his job when the truth came out. If only the same happened to Olbermann.
Going a little off-topic into Maddow territory, but when is this constant race-baiting at MSNBC going to end? Reading a literacy test from Alabama in 1958 and superimposing images of tea party protesters is not responsible journalism, or really journalism at all. Their entire argument usually rests on individuals like Olbermann or Maddow looking for racist buzzwords from anybody in power and then playing six degrees of separation to tie it to Sarah Palin, Mitt Romney, etc. No wonder their ratings are in the tank, they can't make a point without constantly editing clips out of context and then shaking their heads in fake scorn and disgust.
The link to the Palin hand puppet is up on MSNBC. Here's the link.

Worser was actually intended to be hypocrisy over Research 2000. Blue blog source: Impalin (featuring juvenile internet memes). Ted Baxter voice.
Thanks Smacks...I just watched the hand puppet segment. Oh....My....God. I wouldn't believe it if I didn't see it with my own eyes.
I'm speechless...another Great Moment in Broadcast Journalism. I know I've said this before but I do not think Olby can sink any lower. That was just flat out bizarre. Plus, it looked like a gorilla arm with lipstick on its hand. I wonder if he used the lipstick from his personal supply.
brad90956...Plus, it looked like a gorilla arm with lipstick on its hand.
The ape ruler finally comes out of the jungle...
Watching the hand puppet video again, I'm almost positive that he had it prerecorded and just had the producer hit the play button at the right time. When I rewatched it on my DVR, there was a definite break in the audio track and the front channel voice level increased considerably, a possible sign that it was fine-tuned and equalized in the editing process.
Ignoring the stupidity of its content for a second, I just have to make the point that Olbermann just ripped O'Reilly last week for not doing his segments live. Apparently this dope can't even go live with his increasingly desperate/bizarre attacks on Palin. What's the matter Edward R. Olbermann, the stress of producing yet another juvenile attack on Palin preventing you from going live coast-to-coast? I can't imagine the amount of hard research hours you put in to really get the puppet segment down.
It was pretty obviously recorded to me. I guess he wanted to make sure he got it exactly right. You can only imagine how entertaining the outtake was based on the final priduct.
How in the heck does this clown think this passes for "NEWS"? Maybe he's ann SNL wannabe. He sure makes himself and NBC look foolish.

Keith needs a manicure. Those hideous long fingernails displayed in his hand puppet videotape are disgusting. Keith, the next time you feel the need to broadcast your hairy knuckles on cable TV, try some personal hygiene first. Talk about putting lipstick on a pig. Yikes!
Keith's "news" is a puppet in hand
About time the asshole got canned
"The news show of record"
His resume checkered
Jocksniffer took a swing... and fanned
No serious anchor or serious journalist would have ever done what Olbermann has done. How immature is it to do hand puppets on a so called "news" show? Since he has really nothing on Sarah he decides to make fun of her through hand puppets. That is so pathedic and childish how does this man still have a job?
I know the big story is the latest GMBJ, but I just want to go back to Worser for a second (ripped and read from a Palin hater site):
"Runners up, Billo [Ding!] and Karl Rove. You recall they led off the Bill O'Reilly autobiographical history of the world show [Ding!] by attacking the Research 2000 poll for Daily Kos in which disturbingly large numbers of Republicans admitted they believe Obama is a socialist, was not born here and should be impeached. You remember Bill-O memorably said—"
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
BILL O'REILLY, FOX NEWS ANCHOR: Did you know that Republicans are stupid and evil?
(END VIDEO CLIP)
OLBERMANN: "He added, (Ted Baxter voice): 'the poll is a fraud, as is the website.' Yesterday, Fox News found a poll result favorable to the candidate it has decided to elect as the next president and Chris Wallace ran with it. Republicans' favorites for the nomination in 2012, as you saw it on Fox, Palin and Romney. Whose poll? Research 2000, the same poll O'Reilly branded (Baxter): 'a fraud, as is the website.' Not that one result in it."
1) Last I checked, "Fox News Sunday" and "The O'Reilly Factor" are not the same show. They do not work in concert.
2) I wouldn't put much stock in any Research 2000 poll, not even this Palin/Romney one. Let me know when it comes from Rasmussen, Gallup, Quinnipiac, Fox News/Opinion Dynamics, or any other more reliable poll. Great Thanks.
