Again Mr. Kathryn Harrold is filling in for Bathtub Boy tonight, it doesn't make sense how Olbermann can find time to post on KOS, then his baseball "blog" if you want to call it that. But yet, no "time" to get over to the studio and work a full week, let alone a night.

I think it's more than just his Dad being (ok who are we kidding) on death's door, I think the "brass" (if you want to call them brass) at MSNBC said they were tired of his "act" and gave him some time off to cool down or probably put him on notice.

I agree with you meerkat - this seems to be a pattern - when he flies of the handle he usually takes time off. I think the bosses gave him these few days off hoping to let the heat cool off on him... he'll be back. Furthermore he shouldn't be wasting his time on something so trivial if his father is ready to check out. He should be spending every moment he has with him... at least that's what a normal person would do.. More evidence this is all a scam.

Well it seems when he is on it's all about how the health care issue correlates directly with his father. Or is it the other way around, that his father's illness correlates directly with the health care issue? Either way, with the Ape Ruler you can never tell except to say that he's never lost an opportunity to further his agenda no matter how dire the circumstances.

Think about this MK, because I know your love for the liar would make it nearly impossible to be openminded about anything he does, but even if it was true about how he cares so much about his father and therefore the timing of his illness and the importance of the health care issue was purely circumstantial, then to what purpose does he tell everyone that his father insinuated that he wanted to be killed? Would you consider that a compassionate account of someone who loves his father, while at the same time it is told within the contents of the health care issue? Did you ever, at least ONCE, think "why in hell is he mentioning this while at the same time tying in the importance of having health care for everyone?"

Did you think that no matter what the insurance coverage someone has, that if the illness is beyond repair the best coverage in the world wouldn't prevent the patient from dying, so why tie it in to the health care debate? Did you think for one second, that maybe he was USING his father's sickness to further his own agenda on health care, while at the same time maybe trying to garner a little sympathy by saying that his father wanted to be killed which has absolutely NOTHING to do with health care?

With us over here, his obvious intentions stand out like a soar thumb, but maybe for starters you should try reading between the lines with everything he says, and it won't be long before you'll be asking your self "what was I thinking?"

He was living with his GF, half his age, and the daughter of his friend, (who he actually watched grow up… creepy much?) before she dumped his ass after he hooked her up career wise as a reporter on an affiliate station and then the Weather Channel… Amazing considering she lacks a degree in both broadcasting AND journalism.

He’s a guy who never had a date in HS and hates beautiful women for it. No? Go see the kind words he uses for Malkin, Coulter, Kelley, Ingham, and how he made one of his ESPN colleagues cry, etc, because he’s so much better, masculine, and smarter than them. His skin is soooo paper thin he actually brought his COLLEGE DEGREE on the air to prove a point to someone he regularly demeans and insults. Which is weird cause if Coulter is such a horrible human being and should die of the worst form of cancer, why pay her any mind Olbs, least of which prove to her how much “smarter” you are then her?

He traffics in lies, distortions, presumptions, bile, and hate. He hypocritically calls out those who do the same. He envy’s Bill-O, Sean, Rush, Glenn, so badly it eats him up inside, day and night, and forces him to act unhinged, on his good days. He’ll never be black or Hispanic, but he wishes he was, so when he goes on his tirades about the evils of racism and white guilt, he wouldn’t look like a fool and have real credibility. Proof? Look at how white his own network is. More proof? He actually kissed the ass of Jesse Jackson, making sure the Rev knew; “Oh, well Jesse, I’m so hip to the black plight and sympathetic that when I’m off I have a black woman take my place.” I’m paraphrasing of course but yeah, that’s actually the gist of it. And no, he no longer has a black woman or even a lesbian take his place, but a WHITE MAN… If David “puppet mouth” Shuster can be called that.

The head tilts, the furrowed brow, the camera changes, and the best… When he passes it off to the Doc., how his voice gets extra low and solemn, he fiddles with his papers, and then gives it over to Rach, with his eyes so heavy from the heavy burden of the truth he just voiced to his thousands of viewers… Something he didn’t do with Dan Abrams, who did more for Olbs career then Fat Ass himself did.

Beyond the tin hat fringe that laps up his slop like lemmings, he’ll never be taken seriously. He’ll never be respected. It’s been said, by actual coworkers and alleged friends, that all his friends can fit into a phone booth. Ouch. Need more evidence of an overly self conscious self hating individual? The above poster said it perfectly when Olbs just couldn’t STAND that SNL and Affleck were making fun of him, so he actually went to the set and watched it, making Affleck feel very uncomfortable. And to PROVE that he was just so cool with the ribbing he received by his best friend Ben and the entire cast of SNL, he actually brought on one of the cue cards with a message from Ben saying, loosely; “Hey Keith, sorry, I didn’t write the bit, still love ya!”

What the heck was that all about?

Just realized something. John Gibson was off this week. That's strange, both Keith and John Gibson were off this week.

A cabana in Cabo? I hope someone brought the lotion! Cause the steam room is gonna be busy.

I am sure that Edward R. Olbermann's pathetic attack on Simmons has absolutely nothing to do with ESPN banning him from all company owned property.

What in the hell is wrong with this guy? His supposed baseball knowledge was the last shred of dignity he had left, but now he seems intent of blowing it all to hell. First the attack on border line hall-of-famer Curt Schilling due to political differences, and now he is going to belittle Bill Simmons on forming sports related opinion pieces. The worst part of the Simmon's attack is that it is clear Olby didn't even read the article prior to attacking it publicly.

Look at the proof. Here is the entire attack that Olbermann pulled out of his ass, posted directly at the end of the blog entry.

"I promised no politics here and I stick to it. But I never said anything about never mentioning other sports, although I think I'll start that rule about a paragraph from now. If you'd like to read the most poorly-informed conclusion I've come across in sports media this year, you have your link. Proceed with caution. In short, it is the contention that the comeback of Tiger Woods will be more difficult than the one Muhammad Ali faced in the 1960's. If the writer can let me know when Woods is punitively drafted by the military even though he is about eight years older than almost all the other draftees, I'll begin to take him seriously. In the interim I am again left to marvel how somebody can rise to a fairly prominent media position with no discernible insight or talent, save for an apparent ability to mix up a vast bowl of word salad very quickly."

So after reading that, you would think that Bill Simmons was adamantly advocating that Tiger Wood's comeback was going to be comparable to the one that Ali had. Unfortunately for Olbermann, here ARE THE VERY FIRST TWO PARAGRAPHS IN THE BILL SIMMONS ARTICLE, which directly contradicts his entire tirade.

"My Friday chat on ESPN.com drew 42,000 questions. The total transcript was 9,600 words, and because I probably typed two-thirds of them, that means I banged out about 6,400 words in three hours. When I wasn't typing, I was sifting through questions looking for a good one to post. Didn't pee. Didn't get a drink. Didn't even stand up. Just emptied my brain on a keyboard.

Now here's why I rarely do chats anymore: Under speed chess conditions, it becomes exceedingly possible that either (A) I might say something inappropriate, (B) I might infuriate my bosses in some way or (C) I might argue a point incorrectly without realizing it until later. On Friday, I made a mistake comparing the 2010 Tiger Woods to the 1970 Muhammad Ali, saying Tiger's comeback would be much tougher because "everyone under 35 was rooting for Ali." Total hyperbole that never would have happened had I spent more time thinking about it. More importantly, I botched a quality point that could have made for an interesting column. "

So essentially, the piece by Simmons was an apology for making an off-hand remark in an informal ESPN Nation chat last Friday. Olbermann instead spins the column as if Simmons' was advocating for the very point he is apologizing for making. Now, later in the piece, Simmon's did attempt to defend his original argument, through the fair points that there was on 24/7 sports media in the 1960s and 1970s, while Tiger Wood's has had a thousand cameras pointed at every window in his mansion for the past few months. Does Simmon's really deserve being called a talentless hack for pointing out a universally known truth about the evolution of media? Apparently Olby Logic dictates yes.

I want to review one other pathetic aspect of the Simmon's attack. Olbermann said this about Simmon's article in the previous posted attack.

"If the writer can let me know when Woods is punitively drafted by the military even though he is about eight years older than almost all the other draftees, I'll begin to take him seriously."

So what did Simmon's actually say about the pressures surrounding Ali? This is pasted directly from the Simmon's article.

"Forty years later, many people (including me) wonder whether Tiger Woods might fold under the pressure of his comeback. It's a fair concern. The pressures aren't nearly as meaningful as the ones surrounding Ali -- one of the most important, courageous and influential athletes ever -- but they remain pressures nonetheless. "

So Olbermann, when Simmons specifically acknowledges that the pressures facing Ali were substantially greater, why did you feel the need to smear him with another one of your lies? Bill Simmons never did anything to you, you were never working at ESPN at the same time, and I doubt you have ever had any interactions with him. So why do you feel the need to alienate yet another base of sports fans?

I pray that the powers that be on ESPN tell Simmons to not respond to Olbermann's attack. Don't give this pathetic carbon blob any more press or any more attention. Of course, this shouldn't be a problem at ESPN, they have been doing all they can to rid their network of anything that Olbermann touched while he worked there.

Ok, I know that I had previously posted that I hoped that Simmons didn't respond to the Olbermann attack, but after the response he just tweeted, I am glad he did. Here is what Simmons said via Twitter

Odds of Simmons being a WPITW when Olby finally comes back? I have no doubts that Olby is going to try to pull the sick father card and probably call Simmons a racist by pulling some out of context movie quote from one of his hundreds of email chats.

MK, what was the point of copying and pasting KOlby's entire comment if all you were going to do was ask one question?
I don't understand why anyone would copy and paste a long comment from the same thread anyway.

I'm a long time reader but a first time commenter. And I have to say, MKDAWUSS hsa provided me with a huge amount of laughs. I've even shown off some of his enries to people that want a sample of how Kos kids argue, how cowardly they are.

By they way guys, you have done a good job of solidly refuting MK's stupid assertions.

And MK, you've done a great job of dodging and ignoring all of the rebuttals. Good job. Keep it up.

By the way, I think he copy/pasted that whole thing up there because he was hoping to provide a smokescreen. Have us thinking maybe he was actually providing evidence or something in favor of his leige, Olbermann. But alas, no. It was just lame. Lame lame lame.

MK, that's just my response over at the MLB blog where to my surprise it still exists. Beyond that other critiques of the Tax Cheat still are up there too, and I'm pretty impressed with most of his critiques. However his supporters there honestly seem lacking, cliched, and just going through the motions they seemingly have so many times in defending the indefensible.

I keep asking one guy how he feels that his wife is a mashed up bag of meat with lipstick on it, or what's that on his sisters face. I mean to support such a journalistic truth telling genius is to support his one liners, no?

For the uninformed who might be reading this, the Tax Cheat belongs to a website where he participates in saying the most offensive and vile things about anyone who dares disagree with him. It isn’t even about them being in the GOP or conservatives anymore, anyone who doesn’t lap up his drivel, or disagrees with him, or his Messiah, are automatically the WPITW. Tell me this TPR1967, when’s the last time a child rapist, terrorist, or murderer made the WPITW list? Oh that’s right, it’s just a fun segment where Cankles trashes anyone with whom he disagrees with, or gasp, has the gall to go after him in some capacity. Can’t have that in his world!?! So like olbermannwatch, the daily kooks specialize in hating those not progressive Dems with untrue, inhuman, comments about anyone else.

And I nor most Olbermann critiques wish nothing but the best for his father. I don’t hate him that much, and I’d hope my fellow critiques would agree. But, are we wrong to observe how he’s politicizing his dying Dad to make points with the WH and score one for The One? Are we wrong to observe that while he says he’s too busy with Dad to have some balls and go to TX and address the Tea Partiers like a man, he somehow has time to post here, with the kooks, and even do a bit with John Stewart, who recently just called him out as an unhinged jerk off?

Remember his mothers passing? Again, terrible, no one wishes that. And yet while he took all those days off, dealing with all those emotions and his mourning, oops, he got caught at a BASEBALL GAME! He couldn’t go to work, but could go to a game? So it’s the Cradle Robber who is to blame for these reactions toward him, vile and otherwise. He decided back in 03, if not a wee bit later before he would have been canceled, to go full tilt left. That’s fine on its own, but he had to use his hour now to thrash and trash anyone with whom he disagrees with.

TPR1967, is your mom a mashed up bag of meat with lipstick on it? Has your wife had worse things on her face then Paris Hilton? Those are just two quick examples of the Edward R. Murrow like “journalism” he brings to the conversation. How has he elevated it other then having like mined lemmings who always love a good softball? Even Craig Crawford has had enough! Craig Crawford for God sakes!

So when you see his critiques go after him with a little more passion then you’re comfortable, look no further then Fat *** himself. But nice try in trying to strike sympathy with the kooks by implying ALL his critiques wish his dad ill will, or even him. God, I hope he lives a long life and stays on the air for at least ten more years, as the fat, pasty, guilty, face of the left.

And yeah, making sarcastic comments about athletes who on their worse days would make mince meat out of Keith, yeah, that’s talent. By the way, what sport did Cankles play again? Also, yeah, I can believe Olbs made a fake account, why is that so hard to believe? He brought on a cue card from Affleck signed that he didn’t write the skit making fun of him. Insecure? He brought on his Ag school degree proving how wrong a woman he often calls a man (making him an anti trans gender piece of crap) was. Insecure?

But hey, its nice that so many strangers on the internet idolize a man who again, represents them so well. Well, here’s to his demo struggle against Nancy Grace!

Long-time lurker; first-time commenter. As a conservative male who happens to be homosexual, the thought of Princess Moulitsas being the "butch" in a relationship with Bathtub Boy sends me into paroxysms of laughter.

I'm eagerly awaiting the Ape Ruler's latest excuse if / when he returns.

It seems all MK has done in commenting here is to encourage others to register and join in opposition against him/her. I know that's my story.

Olby is clearly suffering from "daddy issues". When his pop dies without ever accepting Keith, it could push him over the edge. Is there a psych ward on call? Do the guards at the NBC building have their stun guns and tasers fully charged?

It's obvious to any objective person that Ubermoron is primed to snap and when it happens, it won't be pretty. For the safety of the staff and crew, MsNBC should have guards around Olbie constantly. Not to protect HIM but to protect those around him.
