When MSNBC launched, it seemed, at least to me, not to be too much different than normal media outlets (CNN, NBC, ABC, CBS). FoxNews came around the same time, and some said it had a tilt to the right, but that was only only the case because conservative viewpoints were non-existent on the other networks for such a long time.

After 9/11 , all the networks had a huge showing of support for the Bush administration and especially the military. MSNBC followed suit as well. They embedded news anchors with the troops and did not seem to ask questions in the way they normally would.

I think the folks at MSNBC feel so angry at themselves for actively cheering the start of the war, that they are outwardly striving to push so far to the left in order to make up for their "mistake." Their natural state is to tilt to the left, but they are going so overboard as a result of their own anger at themselves.

While Olbermann is simply crazy and cannot be reasoned with..... the switch is most evident when examining Chris Matthews. He was, at one point, a man who asked tough questions of everyone. He has morphed into a person who says "I'm on our side, we need to have a successful presidency" He said he thinks it is his job as a "journalist" to help this administration. His "Rise of the New Right" propaganda further helps squash his own guilt for not opposing the war from the start.

It's so sad to see what MSNBC has become. I'm not a fan of Fox's morning show, or Hannity... but Fox is, for the most part, a place where actual debate happens. The only time real debate happens over at MSNBC is when Governor Christie, Giuliani, or a few other guests appear on Morning Joe.

10) Keith is a liar. He could not get 50 higher paying jobs than the one he has. He does mind "criticism of his criticism". When he claims "I am leaving forever!!!!!" it really means for six days. Basically, the dude lies all the time.

It is looking like most of the comments at HuffPo disagree with KO's advice to the president to reject McChrystal's resignation.

I'd like to point out that KO's logic is based entirely politically and without regard for the safety of the troops and the mission.

Keith wants the President to force McChrystal to come out and say we need to withdraw all troops ASAP, and he thinks Obama will have leverage to do this because McChrystal will be so thoroughly embarrassed.

If the President take Olbermann's advice exactly, he will have a demoralized General, a demoralized military, a horrible mess, and it will be the President's fault.
