You know, that's a good question. There is a double-standard when it comes to race, and both sides do it. Case it point: Rush Limbaugh's unnecessary slam on George Steinbrenner.

I don't think racism will ever go away because people on both sides keep fueling the fire all while wondering when racism will go away...

CLEARLY, just based on that less-than-a-minute video you linked yesterday MKDAWUSS, Limbaugh was making reference to the New Black Panther voter intimidation controversy. Why else would a racist white person call another white person a cracker? Why would a racist white person take the time to refer to black people as African Americans instead of some other derogatory term? His point was that Steinbrenner helped black people gain riches and was not an "evil" white man contrary to certain racists' beliefs. His logic requires some knowledge of current events.

I'll take it a step further. The DOJ filed charges of voter intimidation under the 1965 Voting Rights Act against the two men at the Philadelphia polling precinct, the NBPP and the head of the NBPP. The case was filed in January 2009 under President Bush. You have the video tape and witness testimony stating the two men stated, "You’re about to be ruled by the black man, Cracker" and called people "white devils".

Fast forward to their court date. They do not even show up for court, they do not file any papers and simply ignored the charges. The judge issues a default judgment. It was done. All the DOJ had to do is tell the judge what they wanted for punishment. But the case was dismissed on May 15. All the charges were dropped against three of the defendants and the final order against one of the defendants (with the baton) was a timid restraint. Prohibited from appearing at any Philadelphia polls until 2012.

Just imagine for one second if this had been two KKK members and their case was dismissed under President Bush? Olby would have a conniption fit, called for Bush's resignation (again) and cover the story for a month straight. But since the shoe is on the other foot, it's no big deal on Olby Planet. In fact, Olby blamed it on President Bush (shocker) stating it was his DOJ that did not prosecute the case. The case was filed 2 weeks before Bush left office but it was not until April 2009 (the default judgment) that the DOJ dropped the charges against the party, its chairman and the man who was not carrying a club.

So it's business as usual on Meltdown. When you cannot avoid a story (and they tried) that makes Obama look bad just blame it on President Bush...over and over again.

Yeah. Keith is being intentionally dishonest about the DOJ stuff. He lists that the charges were "downgraded" from criminal to civil before Obama's guys took over.

But the charges weren't tossed out until later. My understanding, though I am no expert, was that they won a default judgment in the civil case but dropped it for no apparent reason, despite winning the default judgment.

Also. To MKDAWUSS. How did Rush "slam" Steinbrenner? He was mocking a few things. One being liberals dislike of capitalism. Two being liberals cries of racism. He was referencing the "You gonna have to kill some crackers to get freedom" crap that New Black Panther guy was saying.
