So last week President Obama backed the Ground Zero mosque – a reflection, he says, of our commitment to religious tolerance. But later he barfed…

“I was not commenting and I will not comment on the wisdom of making the decision to put a mosque there. I was commenting very specifically on the right people have that dates back to our founding. That’s what our country is about. And I think it’s very important as difficult as some of these issues are that we stay focused on who we are as a people and what our values are all about.”

So when the chips are down, Barack Obama is less a President than a lawyer, carefully parsing out manicured statements, designed to straddle fences. It sucks – because he could have done something awesome. We already get that Muslims have the same rights as we do – and that makes us great, etc.

But Obama should have added what really makes us great: we’re not jerks. We have good manners. We think the mosque isn’t illegal, but it is stupid. If he had said to the mosque-teers, “knock it off guys,” he would have been a hero.

But he can’t do that – largely because of fear – not of Islamic rage, but accusations of Islamophobia.

The fear of appearing insensitive is driving our government’s behavior, which scares the crap out of me. Funny how we are asked to tolerate an ideology that would end our ability to tolerate, period. Sharia Law is not a new cop show on USA Network.

Instead, by saying his support reflects our nation’s religious tolerance, Obama suggests the rest of us are religious bigots. Worse, he avoids appealing to common sense, and reveals America’s true vulnerability.

The Mosque developers know this. It’s why they’ve embraced the progressive word of the decade: tolerance. They are demanding that we tolerate a doctrine that enforces intolerance. And if you don’t tolerate intolerance, then you, in fact, are intolerant. You are a bigot, for rejecting bigotry.

If Obama had balls, he would have paired his mosque endorsement with a condemnation of Sharia Law, of terror groups like Hamas, and then asked the mosque developers to consider Americans who lost family and friends on 9/11.

But they don’t teach that crap at Harvard Law.

I see that this story has gone through numerous misrepresentations. I first thought that this was going to be a mosque that was going to be built right on top of where the WTC once stood. Now THAT would have been cause for outrage, as I think that location should be religiously neutral. To defend this assinine decision, the ape ruler does it again. I've said it before here, and I fear that there will be many more times I will have to say it again, but unfortunately the anti-American left has left me no choice, as their selective memory does not register any horrific deeds done to Americans.

I was there the next day. The smell of death hit me as I was approaching ground zero. Something akin to wet cardboard left out in the rain for days, combined with some kind of rotten food. The damage done cannot be explained, and it went on for blocks. For certain, past where this Mosque will be built. I had a feeling I was in some worn torn country, and not the city where I lived for 12 years.

It bears repeating, that I saw a skeleton completely void of any clothing, yet fully intact with a badge number of some policeman impacted perfectly into his breast bone. Like it came from some college science class. More limbs and skin spewed all over for blocks...not feet...but BLOCKS! and sidewalks sprayed with blood every 10 feet or so.

I got sick many times throughout those 2 days I helped, both physically and mentally, but I swore I would never ever forget what I witnessed, nor would I forgive those responsible. These weren't just my fellow New Yorkers i mourned for, but my fellow Americans. Americans, who did nothing more than to get up to go to work to live their American Dream. They represented me and all of us, and BELIEVE me when we all finally had enough after 48 hours of shoveling shit, body parts, skin and blood into bags we knew there were people out there who would forget what happened there that day. We KNEW it. We talked on the train going home, that it was unfortunate that the ones who would forget weren't there with us, because then they'd NEVER forget.

This Mosque issue is not only about losing relatives and friends, as it's also about remembering WHO did it and WHY, and for ALL of us NEVER to forget.

A Mosque to be built LESS than 10 years after the worst hit this country has ever had on its mainland, and this anti-American scum can give a 10 minute special komment on the proximity of Ground Zero to it, and the right to have it built there?! Is he KIDDING me?!

I wish I had taken pictures that day, but the thought of descecrating the fallen is not what I'm about, yet damn, for the assholes of the world like him they NEED to see what really happened. Up close and personal.
