The infamous, deplorable Keith Olbermann cannot take criticism...let alone rejection. Now that NBC has kicked him off Sunday Night football, he's retreated into a Cone of Silence. It must have been doubly embarrassing when the staff was told of Oralmann's firing, and they celebrated by going to a Yankees game!
No new posts at the bestest baseball blog in the whole world, And Keith the prolific tweeter also went silent about 24 hours ago, shortly after the bad news broke. We know his ego is crushed, but Edward R Olbermann should be used to that by now.
Well he convinced himself to deign to appear on A-Mess-NBC tonight. But he doesn't have to respond to anyone there, or face comments about his humiliating exile from football coverage. So he retreats from the interwebs, puts up cyberwalls, holds his hands over his ears, and screams. As he steps into the cyber-bathtub. Listen closely and you can almost hear the bath water bubbling.
Comments are open!
Usual Friday stuff. First, Video of the Week (to avoid Thurber), MY NEW CELL PHONE!!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jW14urZCi1Q
Proper worse later.
Okay, a quick poll, what is more likely Keith will talk about? Him being fired or Al Franken being a jerk to McConnell?
He brings up the infamous security brief? Are you kidding me? Still riding that horse? Keith, it's swaybacked. "Bin Ladin might strike at US." is different from "Al-Queda will hijack planes and crash them into the WTC and Pentagon." Try to learn it.
Roughriders and Alouettes on tonight. Countdown for later.
No, that's not your chickens coming home to roost, it's your daily update on the something for cheetoes crowd.... TEE TIME!!!!
No tea on fridays, but a TEAse for his Beck-o attack and Fridays with a incredibly boring alledged humor writer.
Get out your remote controls and footballs, it's the WPITW abstract. I'm still not watching FNIA, Fox's The OT is better still.
Bronze- Roger Alies- for having a gun. So what? Hannity has one too. DON'T EVER GO TO FNC, KEITH!!! YOU WILL GET SHOT! (we can hope. I KID-maybe)
Silver- George the drunk for calling 911 to a ride to the liqueur store. Don't worry, Keith will join you there sooner than you think.
GOLD- BECKS!!!! And Keith uses selective editing and clips out of context to totally miss the point. Keith, you just don't get it. Just like a neutered dog. But a dog is loyal, you aren't.
Well, that's another week in the porcelain convince. Have a good weekend, see you guys Monday (unless I get some stroke of brillance) and.... Let's be careful out there.
In his quest to be relative, humorous or insightful, KO is none of the above. Not even close. He is just weird and strange. And ... his obsession with Glenn Beck (among other FOX personalities) is most puzzling. He must be inwardly full of jealousy of GB for some reason ... he talks about him on almost every show. I guess his Mommy or Daddy never told him that you can not lift your own importance by trying to demean others. Regardless of his politics, I find him pathetic.
Did Olby's zillionth Beck Attack have anything to do with this?
I honestly believe this move wasn't about his politics. It's NBC, they probably loved his stuff.
It probably has more to do with a combination of way too many personalities on FNIA to begin with and me, like many other Americans, refuse to watch NBC's football program because he was on there.
We'll probably never know if he had any problems with Costas and Co. because most of them (Costas, Patrick, Colinsworth, Dungy) wouldn't waste their time talking to or about a pissant like Olbermann. And Rodney probably threatened to beat the shit out of Olbermann if he even looked him in the eye.
I am, however, surprised that MKDAWUSS hasn't accused Johnny Dollar of making this out to be more than it is or whatever idiotic goal-post moving logic he came up with.
It was something to do with taxes, and cheetoes. Basically Keith called Becks anti-rich. Which is rich coming from him.
Well, MK did move the goalposts...by bringing up a CFL game.
Syvyn11, I have pinpointed Olby's blue blog source: Media Matters. No, really? Get out of town and take a bus.
Maybe when his contract expires Olbermann can get a job on Football Night in Canada.
Tick tock
so goes the clock
Olby's end is neigh
at the peacock
Burning bridges
losing ratings
just what is his therapist contemplating
new book coming out
just like his first
will get beat by Beck or O'Reilly
things just got worse
With Cousin Larry getting most of his staff
the writing is now on the wall
looks like humpty olberman
is gone come fall
Can you just imagine being invited to an evening with Keithy at his home? First he'll show you his baseball cards.
Then he'll show you his diploma from Ag School.
Next he'll read you Thurber.
Then he'll browse his Big & Tall catalog with you.
Seriously...does anyone doubt he was often beat up at school?
We are Counting Down to a Comcast canning.
I don't think they let him know he was canned from Football until the last second. hence the silence.
His good buddy? Dan Patrick didn't have him on his radio show all week.
Who knows? Maybe it was done in the hopes that Olby would quit altogether.
Crazy Larry got the 10pm slot but he's just warming up till Olby's contract runs out, which has less then 7 months to go.
And then Cenk Uygur will get the 10PM slot. Just kidding.
I just posted this on a Media Matters blog in response to a hundred or so railings against Glenn Beck and his so-called "screams about the budget cuts, violence ... etc." According to their "Terms of Use" I guess they have to screen all entries, SO ... let's see Monday if it gets posted. Here it is ...
It’s ok guys … no offense taken. You are in the minority (except for on this site). Nothing that you (or Media Matters) can say will discourage GB or deter him from showing the holes and outright stupidity in the Progressive philosophy. I think it is ironic that so much mention of him by the likes of Keith Olbermann, Ed Shultz and others on MSNBC only goes to show their jealousy of the success of FOX and GB and the fear by those on the Liberal side of politics that more and more people are starting to see the Obama Administration’s ineptitude, core agenda and socialist beliefs. I voted for Obama and other people like myself really believed in the Hope and Change message of Obama until it became obvious it was not what was anticipated. Thank God for a Media Outlet that isn’t just a mouthpiece of the Administration.
Hopefully I should get some interesting, if not vulgar responses.
Ron, you will soon learn that any viewpoint that opposes the site[Media Matters et al.] will usually get silenced like me eating a sliced beef brisket sandwich. I'm not discouraging you from sharing your viewpoint, it is just that some people don't want to hear it.
Remember, ignorance can be fixed, but stupid is forever.

If Olby quits before his contract is up, don't be surprised MikeC.
$24.95 for Keith's new book? They would have to pay me $2495 (Yes, I didn't put a decimal point there on purpose) to read it. That and a new kidney.
Really when it goes to the dollar tree by the start of the new year because nobody buys it, do you think he'll trash Palin and her book costing less at Amazon and Wal-Mart?
Like this line in the Keith review.
“Pitchforks and Torches” will be available for $24.95 at a bookseller near you in October, and $1.99 at a remainder bin near you in November."
I wouldn't even buy it for that much.
